Wait what?
Yes, you can grab the snowfox
So I can just get it in s big room and then put it in my pocket when i need to?
yes
Ur welcome
Can't wait to see it
Do you want me to @ you when i post it?
K
Wow these look amazing are you using a reshader?
At last, my base is finished!
Storage room - still needs some lockers
My workshop - quite empty, any ideas what to add? (walls behind me are wall planters)
My farm, more plants coming soon
My bedroom
My full base
What do you guys think?
That looks pretty cool!
I always love seeing the kinds of bases people make with the large rooms in bz!
it was a big grind, i didnt have much resources, most importantly titanium
but atleast i had a lot in my previous base, but that one was ugly af
Felt ya on that one, I'm dreading opening my game cuz I'm way deep in grand reef and need a singular titanium lol
LOL
I miscalculated
worst thing was when i needed table coral for scanner room, got a lot of it, then realised i had it in my seatruck
now i have a locker full of it
yes, but idk if i wil ever use that much
Where'd you even build your base?
It's so difficult to find good spots to build a big base in bz because most of the map is more closed in besides the lilypads
its 300 meters southwest from the delta station dock, theres a lot of biomes quite close
ad about 400 meters away from lifepod
Not bad not bad
there was a big hole there with absolutely nothing, so now it looks better
Ah i figured that's where you built
here's a little handy tip I discovered while making my BZ starter base, if you put reinforcements on the multipurpose room walls you can fit 4 wall lockers on each one instead of 3 which increases your overall storage capacity by 7 lockers (if you use all the walls except one for getting in and out that is)
Thanks, but i still haven't even built all the lockets I need and I really don't think I'm gonna be running out of storage anytime soon.
this is my storage room, all the lockers are labelled so I can neatly sort stuff out
28 lockers in total
That looks really pretty with the dome
I always love seeing bases in the lilypads, it's so pretty there
yeah and the music is so beautiful
the multipurpose room glass dome is my 2nd favourite new base module after the large room
makes for really nice bedrooms too
Please add reinforcement walls this scares me
theres probably reinforcement in other rooms
yeah the storage room is full of them
I feel like the storage room is a little crowded, but it would work great
I might have to steal someone's base design tomorrow I suck at building bases
If you could rotate moonpools it at any angle it would be so much easier tbh
tis nice
Ty!
you can do that in BZ which is such a nice change, also they fixed the bug where the legs on base modules disappear if you go too far away, and when building something like a moonpool the legs actually come in the placement and get built with it rather than appearing afterwards
Yeah the base building mechanics are a lot more fluid in bz
yeah I have a question, how do I give power up my base?
use solar panels or some sort of reactor
either connect it directly to the base or use power transmitters
i think you can find the fragments in wrecks near the mountains
but play it safe and go for the crag fields
is it floating?
yes
thats close to it
with some weird bubbles under
same base direction
the crag fields are right past the little area there with red grass
you'll know when you have seen it from the chunks of rock sticking up
can you send me a picture of how it looks like?
putting links here is ok right?
i got one for a map of the place
Up-to-date interactive Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero map of biomes, resources, lifepods, wrecks and all the other points of interests and collectibles.
its a map you can use of the entire place, including biome layers
the crag field is the nearest biome from the back of the aurora
the mountains is full of reapers and up at the top of the map
if you need anything else, id suggest moving to #subnautica-chat
like a really broken version of the actual item
like a metal crate with a broken seaglide inside for example?
yeah
you should already have solar panels in your build tool
yes i do
but if i wanna make my base a little deep
is there use for solar panels when there is no light?
if not, what else can i use for power?
bioreactor
red grass biome to find bioreactor fragment?
pretty much
ye
Made this in creative and I'm going to make it in the lr in my survival world later.
Inspired by a few of the smaller bases I've seen ShadowScythes post
Nice! Thats a solid base
But it could do with a couple of windows
Other than that,
I'm going to put my power source under the scanner room and have the 2 side rooms be tanks with peepers and bladderfish so I'll never need to leave for food.
Then the middle compartments will be storage and living space
What will your power source be?
I would add solar panels
i would just put in a nuclear reactor
I would do nuclear here aswell
It's in the lr, no sun.
I'm going to do a nuclear reactor
And the ingredients for rods are easy to get in the lr
Cove tree pog
Lr is full of resources
yup
I'm going to be home in like an hour and I'll start making it
Getting all the recourses will be annoying
I started a list of everything I'll need
Not counting decorations and stuff
im not even going to ask
I also need to figure out where exactly I want to put it lol
That is the biggest challenge…
I started a base in the spare reef but never finished it so I'll take it apart for some materials
It's literally one multipurpose room but it has some stuff inside I can use
Like a fabricator and bioreactor
Even though I'm not putting a bioreactor in my new base I should be able to use the materials from it
Yeah good idea
Started building it in the lr
It doesn't yet have power or really anything inside it
I need a lot more titanium
I had just enough for all the rooms
not really awesome but i proud of it cuz its my first survival base
i plan on adding a scanner room, observatory, and another moonpool for my soon-to-be prawnsuit
hell yeah! make sure ya add more solar panels or another type of energy source if you add more to the base! dont forget reinforcements too!
ye i should prob add reinforcements when i expand
You probably won't need them for a bit
u need an observatory
I only see observatories as a waste of hull integrity
i love havin one on my grand reef base, its the prettiest biome imo
plus it plays Observatory Zen every time you walk into it, i love that song
Yeah, also putting spotlights on observotaries creates a nice effect
Ooo I've never thought about doing that before, i might when i get back on my save!
Like on the top of it? Or just on it in general
@flint nova I actually like that base, for a starter! i still play survival, and i made kind of what you made. its pretty awesome!
On top of it
But they work well on top of glass compartments as well
/
this is the exact same base I have except I have seperate multipurpose rooms for my eggs and my bladderfish, and peepers to breed
Alien containment
Hey I have a question for you guys
If I were to build a base in the grand reef should I build it by the sea treaders for materials or the area slightly deeper with a crab squid that’s prettier and faster to get to?
If you don't mind being not too far away from 2 different Ghost Leviathans, there is a spot where the Sea Treaders walk over a bridge right over an entrance to the Deep Grand Reef where the crabsquids are
it's just below the southernmost point on the Floating Island
I built mine in the deeper area that's prettier, it's farther from the ghost leviathan and closer to the river
Hm ok
I do not mind the leviathans, they actually look beautiful. The only negative thing would be them attacking my cyclops while on my way to my base
I’ve been there I’m pretty sure, it does look pretty cool
It is! Best place I've ever built my base
cove tre base
👏
Green cyclops gang 💪
You can breed fish?
If you put them in an alien containment tank
Epic
Ah ok
U mean the big ones that take up a whole multipurpose room
Yeah
degasi recreated. (I had to change the bulkhead to a hatch since you can't actually do that when making a base :/)
👍
Nice
How do you reach that hatch💀
thats the thing. you dont
Ok definitely makes sense lol
well you can. and any time you exit you fall from the mountain
yeah
“Due to several deaths while exiting inappropriately placed hatches, the PDA will advise base locations for you. For your safety this setting cannot be overridden”
Yeah
lol
Can you connect bases to the old degasi bases?
No, nor the lifepod for that matter
Finally got my base powered and done with most of the necessary interior stuff
Do you guys like the glare on my screen?
I love it so much
Oooo what a fun spot for a base!!
If i hadn't made mine in grand reef i would've killed the ghost and built my base where the garg skeleton is
I was thinking of doing that but I wanted to be closer to the cove tree and didn't feel like dealing with the ghost
I killed the one in the northern blood kelp entrance because I normally come that way and it almost destroyed my cyclops
Why not make it in cove tree
I'm like 100m from it
yea why not the cove tree?
its safer then there
i see a lot of people build there im just wondering
how did you get it to be that small
i just got the cyclops docking mod :P
niceee
Ok I’ve started a base in the grand reef next to the entrance to lost river, but I needed more materials so I went into creative and made a rough draft or plan of what the base will look like. The interior is not figured out yet. Ya’ll think it looks good?
Looking good
!!! Looks good!
Twelve subnautica years later…
I got a little poll for u guys (yea it’s really random)
Do you always build a starter base in safe shallows far from lost river or build it in a close biome like kelp forest or grassy plateaus?
i build in the bulb zone
it has good power close to the lost river and lighting is useful
i usually build in grassy!
my current save has it in the grand reef which was such a good idea
Starter mini-base in a single X compartment, directly below the pod. Still use the pod fabricator for that one, it's mainly for additional storage. My first proper base (meaning it has many rooms and a moonpool) is usually on the border between grassy and kelp forest, and is primarily for food production. Usually I only build one more major base at the cove tree. However, I have a bunch of small mini-bases with one multipurpose room, to be used as recharging stations.
usually i build one base at safe shallows, go down to LR or LZ and build a 2nd base there
I go for safe shallows so i can access the pod when i dont have fabricators and radios
Also its kinda the definition of a starter base
usually main/starter base grassy plateus then i'll build little outposts and charging spots in various locations around the map
Its not so awesome but its my first try to make a base
Its ok
What power generator do u have ???
i usualy base around thermal vents
there's a couple different ways I do it
in my first playthrough I made a small base in the Mushroom Forest near the NBKZ first, then a bigger one in the Tree Cove much later on shortly before I went to the ILZ
in my second playthrough I made a tiny, single-compartment base for storage then made a smallish base in the Grassy Plateaus, then a massive base in the Deep Grand Reef which served as both my midgame and endgame base
then in my third and hardcore playthrough, I skipped the first tiny base and went straight to a medium sized but still relatively small starter base in the Mushroom Forest bordering the Bulb Zone, then later did the same thing with a huge midgame/endgame base but this time in the BKT
generally the routine I've settled into is, make a small early game base in a shallowish and relatively safe area that's a little ways away from the area you start in, then make a base near a LR entrance that's much bigger and use that to finish the game from
sometimes I'll make other medium sized ones just for fun that aren't near the LR, like the one in the Underwater Islands in my hardcore
That was a way more complete answer than I was expecting to that poll
lol
I’m bored sooooo
I wanna do another poll, I’m getting this place hype baby 😎
Do you prefer building in BZ or original subnautica?
(Arctic peeper for BZ and normal peeper for original)
bz cause there is way more buildings and decorations
basically more building items in general
That is true, the thing is subnautica’s biomes are beautiful, and BZ in my opinion doesn’t have biomes as good, so BZ has great building and subnautica has great locations
also bz base building is not a lag fest like og
tru
and large rooms and multipurpose room glass dome POOG
vent garden biome and crystal caves
lilypads
bz also looks a ton better
but the og gameplay is better imo
but those things could be added to og
And the story
in bz we are learning about the death of ur sister but in sn ur trying to escape a planet
bz story is really vague
which is cooler
sn
and with aliens
but you see it
sn scarier tho
s h a d o w
and terror
why is the discussion in here too
this is for sharing bases not for discussing games
bruh they should legit make a chat for both games combined
lets move to um
not even squidding
viridian where do we move
BZ room
bz chat
kk
Since its dead at the moment
Here's some tips to make nice base screenshots (this only applies to people who play on pc):
Tip #1: If you press F6 several times, it will cycle through different configurations that hide various things. For example, if you press it once it will hide your hotbar, the depth you're at, and your oxygen/health/food/water display, but keep the little orange corners of the scuba mask. If you press it again it stays the same as before only this time it also hides the scuba mask, press it again and it will hide the player's arms, and so on and so forth.
If you go to the one where upon pressing F6 again it goes back to the default view (in other words the one just before the default), that hides the most stuff possible and therefore makes for good screenshots. Alternatively, you can press F11 instead of F12 to take the screenshot, and it will automatically hide your HUD, but the screenshots will be put into a different location so just keep that in mind.
Tip # 2: Setting the texture quality to 4 improves the general look of things, it might lag your game depending on how good your pc is, but a short bit of lag won't matter if you're just using it to take base pictures then setting it lower again once you're done. You can combine this with the first method to take nice, clean screenshots.
Tip #3: Both Steam (F12) and the game's PDA screenshotting (F11) produce somewhat low-quality screenshots, so if you want your base to look really clear and sharp you can do the things mentioned above to hide your HUD and increase the texture quality, but then instead of taking the screenshot with F12 or F11, take it with printscreeen (PrntScrn). On a Windows computer this is typically the Windows key + Fn + PrntScrn. You'll have to find the location these go to, but the screenshots taken with printscreen are much higher quality than either Steam or in-game screenshots.
Hope this helps! : D
sheesh!
I notice a lot of people sending screenshots with their HUD and everything in there, so I thought I'd just give people some tips in case they wanted cleaner looking base pictures so they look more "professional" if you can call it that lol
As a console player I can relate to those who use their phones to take pictures of the screen itself, which is usually a flat screen TV. So, bits of background and the wall AND the TV itself plus glare are usually in the photo. Don’t let this discourage you. As long as you can clearly see the base(habitat), and the position of the character looking at the base(habitat) is good, the photo is fine and people can give you feedback on your base

Trust me, all my photos have flaws as well, but i still do weekly polls and base posts here, so it’s okay, don’t be jealous of PC screenshots. Sure, taking good pictures is kinda important, but don’t let it make you feel bad in the subnautica building community ☺️😉
(The edits are to fix typos if you were curious)
Ok now I feel like I took pictures a little to seriously 😅
my starter subnautica base!
ooo thas cool!
thanks
looks sick!
thanks
np
the open bulkhead is wwhat i use for half of the things in my base
like the wall lockers on the outside, cuddlefish in a multipurpose room, etc.
That looks a lot like mine actually
It's a pretty good set up
My current set up is. Not the best lol but it works for me
I'll try and get more pics some day I'm just lazyyyy
i dont have one at all 😉
I have a whole garden room that's really pretty and makes the base a little more lively
not that awesome of a base but still pretty nice
i just now finished building the moonpool and i think it looks pretty good
Definitely more of a function over form. 10/10 from me
I need to make a base in the mushroom forest
pretty cool base
do you use only the solar panels or is there a bioreactor/nuclear reactor in the multipurpose room
Tube base looking fresh 😏
noicee
(This question is actually to help me make decisions🤫)
Do you guys prefer the cyclops as a base for a while or an actual base made with the builder tool?
(House icon for base, cyclops icon for cyclops)
It kinda bothers me that it’s totally floating, and the bottom floor is a bit to tuby, maybe turn those tubes into more rooms, or make the entire bottom floor a giant greenhouse
And add a little more to the top
Or the other way around, make the smaller top part more tuby and make that the green house, and the bottom with the moonpool and multipurpose rooms

My base is too large to render in fully xD
Any tips on that?
uhh
piece sections of it together? 😂
or just show it in several parts
if it's bigger than this I will be seriously impressed
my god
I can feel my game crashing just looking at that
if you thought my Deep Grand Reef base was big...xD
it does not even compare to this monstrosity
he literally deleted all the trees in the Mushroom Forest to make that
My game would have had a stroke just placing another piece onto that
It’s connected via some tubes to the land so it does look supported, and I have put some observotarys and scanners on the empty ends. Thanks for the feedback 😄
No problemo 😌
I will hopefully be able to upload a showcase vid/more pics here soon
Oh really? I would have made a base below the island in grand reef, not up there
But cool cool
Ik ive already made my base in mushroom forest but I want to build some random bases across the map bc I love the mechanics…….. yeah I need help
😅
yeah its just that my health hunger and water bars are not in the shot since I took the picture with my phone
Also have any of you guys attempted land building? I tried it once and it’s annoying but worth it
Most of mine is on land here
It can be a bit fiddly if its high up but atleast theres no hull integrity
I had to platform on floating compartments to build some parts of it xD
In my creative world you can barely drive the cyclops without the game crashing, that’s how much I’ve built. I have sub topia, a bunch of bases in the grassy plateaus, land topia, a bunch of bases on the giant island, and lava topia, bases in the lava zone, and as fun I have abandoned bases scattered around the island that I made to pretend there were humans before, plus abandoned ships, which are seamoths and Cyclopes just scattered around with lights off and stuck in creative ways
thats amazing!!
The thing is it’s hard to explore because of the lag
Yeah I have 2 bases and already my switch is literally on fire
Also I was inspired by the YouTuber Oarfish
I mean I’m on console and it’s bad, I can’t imagine the pain on switch 😔
Its horrible…. building one window takes like 15 seconds bc of lag afterwards
🔫
One window?
Dang
That’s really rough
But once a switch gamer, it’s hard to turn on it, I speak from experience, I had a switch until my house was under construction and now I have no idea where it is
Under your house lol
Yeah it is hard to turn on the switch
Under the world, under the aurora, in a reapers stomach, in Jesus’s hands, in my butt, in the middle of the sun, in the- oh, there it is!
reapers stomach most likely
(I wish I could say those words, “there it is”) 😔
😥😥
Switch is good for your muscles ☺️
So always remember to eat switch with dinner
😂
Then for dessert you can chase down a cyclops
No cyclops munching before dinner

Lol
finshed off with a nice seamoth steak👍
Aurora radiation 10/10
Ryley: 5/10 not very filling
Almost actually. It's a Below Zero base on the world edge, spanning from the surface down to the sea floor. It's supposed to be a research base.
in creative I hope? xD
Yeah. Trying my hand at a more aesthetic base. It's based on one of my survival designs

Almost had to kill the ghost for that screenshot but it was worth it
My BZ survival base
Stronk legg
He’s been hitting the gym 💪
This one, has NOT been hitting the gym 😔

lol
that reminds me of when I came back to one of my survival bases once and all of the legs got unloaded except one
it looked so hilarious I put it in a picture frame in my Cyclops
💪😎
meme format material
yes
I hate it when supports should load in but they dont
also floating island base update this afternoon
interior of my base. my moonpool is empty apart from my seamoth which hasnt been modded yet apart from deapth module mk1
Cool!
I always put machines in separate rooms so you don’t always here the noise though
Also my BZ base interior should be posted this afternoon or tomorrow morning
I have pictures of my hardcore base that I could send but I wanna wait until I make the YouTube tour video
I would never do hardcore, I remember the first hardcore world I did I died to a stalker
The second, drowning
And the 3rd, well it’s embarrassing, fall damage in the mountains on the giant island
🥺
that's funny cause I remember falling like a quarter of a kilometer from my giant tower I once made in survival and somehow landing on the bottom compartment without dying xD
Ok 12:00 marks the afternoon time so
Don’t mind the background noise 😅
I need some feedback on what to put in the empty space in the large rooms
So if you got any ideas pls share
its nice
Ty!!
It’s nice, but since it’s so stretched out there are, again, a lot of straight places that are all tubes. Realistically that base is to big because of the amount of walking you have to do to get to one room from another. That’s why I made topias, which have separate buildings stretched across land to get rid of the tubes. But other than that it looks great 👌
(Not to mention you did that in survival)
Yeah Im not sure why 😅 Also Its mainly for the fun of building it and I wanted it to be big but your points are really valid anyway, especially if I was building my legit base
I spent hours grinding outcrops in lost river, grand reef and crag fields to amass enough titanium and glass
(Ive already used about 17 lockers worth of titanium, and 10 lockers of glass 😭

That’s so much
I would never grind so much like that 😔
can relate
I've done that like twice, making both of my big bases
When i make lockers, i used to make the glass ones but now it's only the titanium ones cuz the glass ones are such a waste they just look kinda neat lol
the glass ones have more storage than just titanium ones and can be placed more freely
Ah i didn't even notice that
I still prefer the titanium ones cuz they don't cost as much
i go for the glass ones. they look better and i need a lot of storage for stuff
but the titanium ones are good for the cyclops
Guest bedrooms?
storage or aquariums
Hm okay
Cuz I have the 2 stacked large rooms and inside those is a 2-floor tall Aiken containment with fish, the rest of space is kinda empty so that’s why
You could put some work desks or counters
Make a sorta communications corner
Like a couple of desks one after the other with swivel chairs
|=desk. ^ =chair ^||||||^
best I can do lol
Thankfully BZ has a ton of outcrops unlike original so it will be easy to get stacked in titanium
Yeah and all of those seaglide frags in twisty 😋
Also ion power cells are op in the cyclops!
Yup
They are better in bz bc you unlock them earlier so they are actually useful, whereas in original they are only useful if you have a base building addiction
in BZ everything that you spend hours to find and create in the original game is already unlocked
It’s so nice
Like the battery charger and multipurpose room
And the mod station!
And beds I’m pretty sure
Unfortunately getting diamonds is difficult when you get it anyway
Or no u scan those
I have 4 wall lockers full of diamonds 😶🌫️
Same with gold and lithium
🧐
In my survival world I grinded for a long time while listening to Ed Sheeran
However you spell it

I ended up not even using half of the materials and thats how I learned to not stay in caves reusing oxygen plants and having 5 seatruck storage modules for over 3 hours
When it has modules yes
So I always only use the fabricator, storage, teleporter, and docking modules
That reminds me…
I was driving the seatruck without modules and I wasn’t so used to how fast it was so this happened… 😮💨
how did you even do that
where base
Boost out of water by accident, I boosted while looking up because I wanted to see the weather, and I always do that but with modules I never go up, but when I did it without them this happened
Now when I pass by I see it 😐
Wait did you make a new one?
you would have to
that sucks lol
I made a new one, luckily the seatruck isn’t that expensive and the modules are still there since I is connected them
Heyo I got another poll for u guys, it doesn’t really have anything to do with building but I wanted to know, which do you think is better In SURVIVAL, the seatruck (BZ) or cyclops? (Original)
(Cyclops icon for cyclops and truck icon for seatruck)
I think you could turn the upper room to a greenhouse room by adding a glass dome on the top and adding lot of plants
I already have a greenhouse 😔
I have all my rooms showcased in this vid
Then idk
Maybe build little aquariums too.
Do the hatch ladder etc animations all work in bz
why no window
Uhh base pressure for one, also the fact that the view can be terrifying.
That’s why I don’t add windows to bases down there but idk their reason
kdi
rate my cyclops 1-10
i rate it 1 - 10
because you said rate it 1 - 10
but actually, this is a really good cyclops i rate it 8/10
After working on it for weeks, I finally present my second mega base, this time in hardcore:
Deep Lab Zero. This research base is built in the Blood Kelp Trench and contains 24 multipurpose rooms (plus many other habitat modules), filled with all the necessities that you could want.
Two moonpools sit on a ledge some distance down, connected to the rest of the base with a rather long ladder.
The greenhouse grows plants used for eating, namely Marblemelons, Chinese Potatos and Bulbo Trees.
The reactor tower contains 3 Nuclear Reactors and 2 Bioreactors, and the base also receives power from 6 Thermal Plants down in the Lost River Corridor, for a total of exactly 10,000 base power (not including stored energy).
My living quarters consist of (from bottom to top) a TV room, a living room, a kitchen, a cuddlefish aquarium room and my bedroom at the top.
The 8 story high labratory tower is mostly taken up by a 7 story Alien Containment filled with every kind of hatchable fauna. The floors surrounding it are packed with chargers, fabricators, and other industrial-type equipment. The 6 story tower directly in front of this one has office space, a water filtration room, a Crabsquid room and more.
Finally, the indoor garden hangs off the back of the labratory tower, containing every harvestable land flora. A ladder from here goes up into a glass corridor which offers a nice overhead view of the garden, and leads into the Scanner Room placed on top of the labratory tower.
My gosh
Hardcore
Says in first message
I would, again, never farm all those materials to make that
it was a lot of work lol
I would make giant mega bases in creative but the closest my console would let me was 50 pieces ☠️
surprisingly it hardly lags my game, even with texture quality on 4 unless I'm holding my habitat builder
Any more than that and the game crashes
why are the solar panels so randomly placed lol
I didnt care
The solar panels look like they are dancing 😂
If you want to think of it that way u can
Also it looks expensive to have 3 large rooms, what do you even put in those
I made 1 my room for plants one my office and bathroom, and 1 is my bio and bedroom
I didn't know you could stagger large rooms like that, that could be interesting for a base
The max I put is 2, the res is multipurpose rooms. In both large rooms I stack them so i can have a 2 story high alien containment, and yea that’s what I use them for
Everyone makes one of those eventually 😉😏
It’s alright everyone makes errors
Using the eggs on switch crashes the game so that's why I dont have those
Thank u I guess?
Console isn’t really better 😭
Idk I felt like sayin it
you guys might wanna move to #below-zero-chat as to not clog up this one
I wish I could use computer because it's better
Sorry
Look in below zero chat I have something really cool in there
(This isn’t one of my polls, just a legit question)
I’ve built In lots of places in BZ, some I forgot the name of, and I wanna know where else I could possibly build a nice base in creative or survival. I’ve built in the lily pad biome, the deep lilly caverns, the shallows, twisty Briges, black vents, and in that purple/ tree forest on land. (Sorry for spelling) so I wanna know where I should build next, plus what gamemode to do it in so that I can post it tomorrow
Hm ok thanks
big base update tomorrow!!!
as in a game update or an update of your base?
Added 8 more rooms
oh sorry I meant a furnishing update to my base 😅
Very nice, the layout and structure is amazing as I love the compact but complex design, as well as being able to get to somewhere quickly. The towers of rooms could do with some windows here and there but I understand that integrity is a massive problem!! An observotary would be nice coming out of the moonpool. But yeah its a really nice base
You could also add a couple of spotlights on the moonpool and top of multipurpose rooms and glass corridors to make it look more cinematic and aesthetically pleasing @ebon pumice
i just wanted to know which one you ment lol
yeah
I would post some now but I mainly grinded resources and did minor changes so not many pics anyway 🤪
I might do some small lights or something later, even though I have nuclear power I'm still concerned about draining power. Lol
Do the swivel chairs not actually swivel?
nope
Bruh I just hit my base with a camera drone and flooded it
oof

how does hitting an extreme environmental base with a literal CAMERA flood it?
Subnautica logic
Love your base
Nuclear power is very long lasting, so you shouldn’t have to worry abt power that much. My base has tons of lights and the power has been holding up for ages 👌
but worrying abt power is good bc it is a major factor in base building
really nice
WTF
By the way you should put a vid of a camera drone circling your base in more detail
I wish there was a way to remove the hud
Oh my god I bumped my base as I started using the camera and started a flood again
Oh yeah that annoying gyroscope hud

B o n k
Nice I love the cinematic view
@next dust @proper rover hey guys i finished my base
Showwwww
AYYYY VERY NICE
ty (:
nice
Sigh well I was just about finished with the survival base and right when I places a spotlight the game crashed and I lost 1 hour of base building progress.
I’m upset and not in the mood to rebuild everything and getting all those materials back, so bare with me that I will do it in creative 😢😭
Really nice base @ripe marsh I love the layout of the rooms. Really good base 😎

is it just me does the BZ bases looks cooler
well technically you do have more features for base making in bz
yes
finished renovating my main base in the shallows
nice
thanks, it took 3 days
just building or getting the resources too?
both combined
impressive
moving them into the cyclops for storage, moving them into their respective places, it was a hassle
damn right
I just have to move 3 lockers in a wall for the scan station to attach
can’t have enough of those lockers…
its annoying
“Please remove your enteral organs, your family, Jesus, and the universe first to deconstruct”
niccccccccce
Good job nice one
Base tour

?
I Build my 3rd base there are in the lost river ( I don`t know what are a Spoiler :(.)
Pretty good
Makes me want to build a fourth base
i like build a 4th base in the lava zone
I'm in bz
😮 ok
i want to see a base inside the pcf
found one
?
Moonpool on my void base (for scanning leviathon)
Wait
What if I made a cage around the moon pool?
I meant to respond to just the one where the huge shrimp thing was going through your base
Unless it wasn’t finished, the large room looks really empty. I know it’s meant to be a greenhouse kinda room, but maybe use walls and doors to cut the large rooms into smaller sections, or just walls. Then, put plants in there. I would recommend using all that space for other things, also I feel like those tube hallways are a little to long, they look weird and are annoying to walk through. Other than that great base!
Lol it's a void base
I added more to it, I could do another tour if you want
Nah don’t worry
It's hard to build when you have 3 chelicerate around your base
But it is surprisingly easy to get outside pictures
It’s like building in a small cave
The pictures of the cave are awesome, but it’s hard to build
That’s what I compare it to 🤷♂️
It's more like building in a cave with a million crashfish :/
You have to be really careful
Yes but the whole wall is crashfish
Reaper
Thats an awesome base good job
Nice base I like the layout
Grassy plateaus is always a great place for a base
Yeah there are not many hazards and there are lots of resources within easy reach, as well as access to jelly caves
Indeed
Especially quartz which is great since bases need ALOT of glass
Lots of sandstone chunks, easy access to resourceful biomes, only hazards are biters and sandsharks, it's very flat, it's just a very good biome to build a base, only downside is that it's 100 meters down so it's a bit harder to reach your base when you're at the surface and the only form of transportation is a seaglide
Thanks to that I was able to build a giant aquarium
Also those rock spires can be used to create some interesting bases, there are also several wrecks so easy access to titanium and fragments
Ive built a couple of bases here
One of the plateaus is also near that one wall at the mushroom forest and that wall is FULL of the chunks that hold lithium and all the other valuable recources
Another awesome place to build a base is the active lava zone, it's very flat thanks to the lava and it's kind of easy accessible thanks to the portals at the architect base
That escalated quickly….
Yeah bz doesn’t have many base options
Hmmm
Its really nice I like the way its tucked into the roots and those solar panels
Solar panels down at 150 meters is a bad idea
You could make windows and more rooms tho
They still work
well it mostly runs off of the 2 bio reactors i stuffed inside
You get almost nothing out of the panels at that depth
Yeah but not really great
well i like them, they also add extra power cap so thats a bonus
Yeah but they are good as backup power
I recommend you get a nuclear reactor if possible, they give you 2500 power and they regenerate at a very high speed
now excuse me for a bit while i get the perimiter defense system
its good
max depth i can go to is 300m you think ill achive ANYTHING with that?
No but I said when it's possible
And you have to get s**t tons of uranite to power it
Uranite is easy to get
In late game yes
I see the problem
But its found in deep biomes
It can be found in bk rarely but not enough to farm effectively
Bioreactors are grear for mid/early game bases
alien faeces pog
any cool bases in ||crystal caves||?
I how how it's wrapped around the plateaus
I'm the kind of person who gets slightly annoyed when things are just floating and ignoring physics so I like a base that's grounded and fully attached to stuff all over 👍
That looks sick
Is that the cyclops docking mod thing on the right of is that just a vertical thingy with the cyclops parked above it
It looks pretty unorganized but still cool for some reason
mod
Normally I hate anything and everything that isn't symmetrical
mod
its pretty organized in my eyes
What's the best location for a base in subnautica?
SAME
i personally suggest grand reef!
i personally suggest Blood Kelp Zone as in certain places its very beautiful
mushroom forest, much resureces and near to late game locations
north east one
Yes 🍄🌳definitely
my 2 favourite biomes for base building are the Grand Reef and the Blood Kelp Trench
I like building them in mushroom forest, cove tree and grassy plateus
? Whats with that reaction?
well yall seem to respond in a very negative way
???
Didnt you post your lr base here, I got a ping and saw it in notifications but its not here 😭
people seemed to be disgsted so i took the pic down
disgusted*
We don’t get disgusted here
It’s only feedback pointing out small issues or misunderstood messages 👍
can you send it again?
unless its something offensive i dont get why people would react that way
yeah
Lol I like the waterfall (brinefall?) going through the base
That's almost exactly where my base is
How did you get creepvine down there? I need to do that.
I stocked up on when i was still near the surface
Heres a more close up of the base
@dusky folio @sour idol @fast quest @proper rover here i sent my base
@pseudo rain thats really cool!
why would people get offended by that?
not offended, the reactions were really strange
thats an awesome base right here
thanks
ty
how are you so deep and not dying?
oxygen?
Cool base :D
thanks.
also wdym?
nice
like the seamoth not being squished because of the depth
i dont even have a seamoth down there xD
also depth modules exist
ayo im seeing things
I can never built my base in deep places im too scared i stay in the safe shallows
also the prawn suit
lol i got really bored of the safe shallows
depth module
o
Its boring but s a f e
and same with my cyclops, depth module
the lost river is pretty save and its also a gold mine OF ALL GOOD THINGS
Isnt there a ghost
yes only near the front
once ur past him u dont need to worry abt it
Ohh ok
well its good to have bases in deep places, so that you can have a place nearby to store materials while collecting, and down deep, also be able to recharge your equipment/vehicles
Fair point
plus lost river is my fav biome
i always have a pitstop base by the ||Sea dragon bones in the lost river|| since its basically a hub for the ||lost river||
oh lol thats my main base there
heres my base in the ||inactive lava zone||, its not much, but was just a small encampment on one of the ||Spires|| so that i could recharge my vehicles
where do u get the nuclear reactor blueprints btw?
there are enough near the ||Bloodvine trench wreck in the southwest||
Cant u get some in the grassy plateau area too
Lol I store almost all of my stuff in my cyclops
Thats a really nice base 🧐 I love the location.!! Really nice job
Thanks
well you can't really create your seamoth/prawn mods in the cyclops, so a base down deeps saves some time
I have a base in the lost river and I use it for things like that but I don't need it that much
@pseudo rain My cove tree base. This is still a prototype and it will change over time, and I will relocate the reinforcements and place windows later
What do you guys think?
@proper rover improvments here and there
i want the base to look like a mess xD
idk why i just like that kinda vibe
me too
yeah it looks really nice! I love the ‘messy’ theme, and all of those connected corridors and rooms make an interesting complex! You could add some windows here and there and along the corridors
@pseudo rain
yeah im working on that rn
currently stocking up on titanium for more storage
lmao ive found so much titanium so far
lucky 🧐
i was looking for shale to get diamonds when i stumbled upon atleast 4 titan deposits
🧐
#subnautica-chat just so this one doesn't get filled with stuff that isn't base pictures
Lr is a literal titanium mine!
K
Dude were discussing bases fr
This titan plus the 3 lockers infront of me
well it was more resources but whatever
just don't want this channel getting clogged that's all
(its 8 lockers now btw)
Ive already used like 10 lockers worth of titanium and im not even done yet!!
And I haven’t even started decorating……….
my babies

i wonder if ill be able to make it into a maze-like base in the future..
the fuel gives less energy when grown up
Hi all, did one of you ever try or manage to build a vertical connector through this hole in one of the western icebergs? Would love to build a moondock at the bottom and connect to a base at the surface. I think this has the potential to an awesome start for a base but at some point one of the connectors always gets obstructed by some terrain, just by a small distance. Have been trying for hours now ... 😦
Would love to hear your thoughts #challengeaccepted
i would suggest either taking it down and repositioning the i section below, or if building the tube isn't possible, finding a bigger hole to try again would be my next thought
I began woking on my void base, got a nuclear reactor ready.
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong
Fuel?
🤨
Wd you think of my base?
yeah i said it as a joke
like you can put the eggs in a bioreactor and thats the joke
its great
Ty!!
SADISM
My subnautica base inactive lava zone.
My subnautica below zero base (i can't remember location's name).
Also sorry for bad quality (I had to screenshot it cause I play on ps4)
Sameee I play ps4 too
I can count the pixels in these images xD how bad is your camera (no offense lol it's just funny how bad it is)
why do people not take screenshots?
you can take screenshots on xbox too, but i dont know how to get it to a computer
oh
are those actual Xbox screenshots or just ones that go into Subnautica's PDA?
You can screenshot on ps4 but there's not really a good way to import them to a pc or phone
You can use a usb drive for clips so I guess you probably can for screenshots too
I usually just use the remote play app and screen record it on my phone
I should figure out how to get clips on a usb drive
You think its easy to know what to build on the interior
But id say thats the hardest part
they are pda screenshots but i think you can take xbox screenshots just as easily
That gave me an idea for a poll 🤔
But I honestly think the interior is easier, I guess it’s just my thing or something 🤷♂️
finding the exact location for a base could be hard
Thad what I usually struggle with
Base
who said that wasn't the plan
rip integrity
nah i got reinforcements
arrghh I just noticed that one missing tube
Yeah do that
Or you could place the moonpool in the middle, observotary at the front and hatch coming out of the middle multipurpose room to make it more symmetrical
true
And put 1 room at the back to make up the loss of the room in the middle
could do that
And windows
🙃
Nice
@proper rover
Oh wow
Im gonna make another one in the ilz now XD
You must’ve been playing for awhile
Yeah ive beaten the game once now lol
Gonna start moving everything onto my cyclops
I just need to know where the multipurpose room fragments are and how to power the scanner room
U need a power source obv
And the multi purpose room can be found on the floating island
The one with the alien base?
No
The one that floats
The floating island.
Or ||any degasi base||
interior can be hard when you have a base that's big enough that you don't know what to fill it with
but also, as someone else said, trying to find just the right spot to build, cuz plants and terrain often get in the way
lol i dont use thermal plants
im relying on the nuclear plant thats in the habitat
not anymore atleast
Nuclear reactors are op tbh
🤑
What
amatuers
🤨
🙂
Pretty good @olive mural
built on one of my old multiplayer mod servers
asking about this one
That's Sea Treaders' Path, specifically the entrance to the Sea Treader Tunnel Cave
If you want to get there go west of lifepod 19 until you get to the path, then follow it north
the biome i have least explored is sea treaders path
ive only went to it once for maybe a minute
but now im in cove tree so idk how to head there
looks decent far too big tho, would hate trying to find food if you were about to die lol
it was made to house lots of people, hence the "multiplayer mod" part
I made the first 2, my friend made the third
also I'm recreating the second one on my new server bc the old one got reset a long time ago, it's going to be much more organized
ah i thought it was just for u that makes it 10x better then lol
There is no such thing as a base being too big
i used to agree until the horrible day where i lost like 0 loot trying to find my food locker in my base
now i live in my cyclops
💀
the fact that this is coming from a guy that made a literal city makes this statement 10x better xD
and I fully agree, I love making large bases
