sounds cool. I'm attempting something similar for the super tree in Western
I need to find that
Do it. Thats where you have fun š
Western mushroom forest is good, like people are saying. Convenient access to the lost river through the ghost forest, too. There's a T-shaped clearing in the eastern mushroom forest which was a good site for my most recent base. There's a large swath of grassy plateaus stretching kinda southeast from lifepod 17 which also works well.
K so then I'll most likely focus on western or eastern mushroom forest for a base
I did the same thing lol
Love my new drydock
Dang
Cool but how do you get it out?
made a room dedicated to posters!
Idk if the ||dunes|| are spoilers cuz theyāre not important to story but
Reaper Analysis Station
Def needs the cyclops docking mod
Had a save before and it wasnāt inside, it kind of glitched into the cyclops because the doc was open but it was inside the invisible barrier where it should have been docked
uhh
Few
Anyone got any good base ideas? gonna start a new survival run.
Void base :O
damn
i dont think im ready for that
Are you new to this game or already a bit experienced?
Because based of your answer i would have different suggestions for you
Who?if you mean everyone im expreienced but Bad at building in rated looks
Blood kempingowa żonÄ base
Blood kelp zone base
Or floathing islands base
Bro for what? Just Stasis rifle him and scan. Its not that deep tbh
Itās in creative I just wanted to build a reaper observation site
oh okay
Blood kelp ain't even scary, idk why everyone says it is
Base so far
YOU ARE COOL
It's in creative I think. I see no O² food or water gauge ..
yes š”
show us the inside! I'd bet it looks pretty nice!
As somebody who hasn't beat the game, for the first time I explored there, I was worrying for crabsquids jumping me. To be honest, at night it is. Out of how scary it is, I think it's a 9.2/10.
Make a mini base in the Mushroom Forest biome, or in the Jelly Shroom Caves. Me personally, I think going into the Underwater Island volcanoe place is all ready a good enough base.
It only is as itās so dark and mysterious and you can barely see ahead of yourself
I made bases in the dunes-grassy plateus border, dead zone, bulb zone, lava zone, tree cove and mountain island any other base ideas?
I just get in a prawn suit and play doom music
LOL, but seriously HOW DO YOU HET THE FRAGMENT
FOR PRAWN
I DONT HAVE ITTT
Have you explored the aurora?
Yes
But I missed every important fragments
The rocket ship
Prawn suit
Sea moth
Cat poster
So what do I do idk
||Rocket is in the captain's cabin, prawn suit in the 2nd cargo bay (very hard to miss they are everywhere), sea moth is at crash sites in the grassy plateau, cat poster is in the crew cabin, cyclops in the mushroom forest and crash zone (would not recommend)||
@past path
Thanks
I got seamoth
But not the dept. 2 upgrade
Only the first one
Like a few hours, but if I knew what I wanted to do straight away I would finish it in like 50 mins
I can never make bases like that, it would take an entire day cycle from the night to day to find my bedroom and by then, it is day⦠it would be so confusing trying to find your path. I just like simple bases (small but good looking) because itās way easier to navigate things
Yeah the two multipurpose rooms on the top I just made for fun, I have no idea what to even put there
Me too
itās true
could use some prettying up.. is what i would say if i was an asthestic person but i'm not (usually)
Yeah I'm very bad at decorating lol
me 2
I'm working on a base of my own in Hardcore, and I might share in awesome bases, but it's not complete and I need to furnish alot
Canāt wait to see the progress!
canāt wait, make some use out of em
I will make a base in the lost river in survival will show the results
then I have a bioreactor I'm using essentially for recycling, but I don't know how to theme the room around it
that's an idea
Sad thing is I went on a dangerous quartz run last night, and forgot to close the game before turning off my pc, meaning it didn't save. thankfully it didn't end my run as like an anti-cheat or something
but I have to go on that quartz run again
I also have a bedroom section on a 3rd floor, but I don't know what to do with the second floor multipurpose room, yet I need it to achieve the effect I want
1st floor I'm going for a bit of a check-in look
Add a desk, and put like the microscope decoration and sample decoration if you have them, and then make like a trashcan or something
Put a fabricator there
What kinda plants can you add to wall plants?
not sure
Thatās actually cooking. More fabricators wonāt hurt, though technically I have one just down a ladder in a kitchen type area
I think theyāre talking about the vine wall thingy
But the wall pots can take any 1x1 including Marblemelon Seeds
Iām currently on a quartz run
Simple base in the safe shallows
I wish :2
Would love a pc but donāt have one unfortunately, wouldāve definitely pulled up the coordinates and biome tab on the side, along with an auto save :/
Aww hopefully u get one in the future
Iām trying :3
What do u play on then?
I have a few things, Xbox, switch, somethingās like that :2
Ah cool
yep :7
Below zero or just subnautica
both :2
Cool what is below zero like Iāve never played it
subnautica, but smaller, little less scary, and cold, and lots more stuff on land to doā¦
obviously, itās subnautica lol :3
yea, I havenāt fully tried to beat that game yet.
I will after sn1
I sent a friend request btw, gotta go in at least 2 mins :2
Yea I think the storyline is better in subnautica thatās why I havenāt got below zero
Ok
Ok
byeeeeee
Byeee
Does this count in memes or here?
Both
survival, a few mods to make collecting the amount of resources I need for this managable (mod that lets me compact resources. No mods that make more exist, make them easier to actually obtain or smth)
can't show everything without doing a 20 minute tour
this is a small snippet of the most dens part of it
damn, nice
subanutica players š¤ the sims players
god DAMN this is impressive
can somone give me a good base location and design that has everything ill need
Ratings on the base I made? (Made in creative)
Spawn eight ampeels around the base
No spawn a dozen reapers and test the bases durability
you can spawn stuff in creative??
yeah
How?
so i know you can but i do not know how
press the SHIFT key and the ENTER key at the same time, then type "spawn ampeel 8"
ohhh, ty
No spawn 60 sea dragons and 40 reapers
If you did that you'd be living in a war zone
Just use a stasis rifleš£ļøš£ļøš£ļøš„š„š„
Nah I'd win
Any base ideas in creative?
sky
Connect gun island and degasi island with bridge and in the middle made base in air
In survival as well is sick
Someone did that and it nearly crashed their game
Who ?
It's my first ever base lol
Wow itās very impressive lol
I just taught abotu a killer screenshoot. But you need an aquarium for that : "Place your flat screen behind your aquarium while being in water, take a photo of the aquarium and your screen behind" I could be great
Thanks bro!!
Nah why does that sound zesty afš„š„
Made a massive base in creative for fun a while back
base under the map
what biome is a good biome to built with no scaries and close to everything important i want it to be quite deep so i can put cyclops beside it
I like the north mushroom biome, near the blood kelp, and it has most materials and lots of important wreaks
that one?
yeah thats a personal fav, my go to, its a bit far from the islands and aurora but its not a huge problem, very good for late game
ok thanks
The void
too boring too safe
Guys I have a reasonable idea
Build a base above the ship and if u have the jet mod build a landing pad for that
Is that ok?
Sparse reef
never been whats it like?
It a nice biome, got lots of limestone and stuff, but does get really dark at night
Right here is the perfect place to build in sparse reef
I have my base there
And it's also nice because in the area I showed, your right next to the blood kelp and there eyiu can get tons of quarts and uranite I think it is, also has a entrance to the lost river
do you mean the eyeye?
Wym?
well what is eyiu?
Ohhh, I was typing fast lol, I ment 'there'
Wait no
I mean 'you'
And there you can get tons of quartz
That's what I meant mb
ah all good
So I think I got my base figured out, there's just one room left to decorate. It connects the cafeteria to the bedroom entrance area
well, one room idk what to do with
ig there's another room where the outdoor crop entrance is
Highlights of my base so far:
I'm terrible at getting pics
got the wrong bedroom pic:
Hardcore with no mods, if anyone is wondering
Iāll check back here tomorrow
why so massive
Best base locations in Below zero? I've already made bases in twisty birdges, purple vents, and lilypad islands but still suggest specific spots including those biomes
dose it not take a month of Sundays to walk around that base?
Yo chat I got an idea
Someone build a base around (spoilers)
||the rocket||
Like a launch base
Is there a limit to how close you can build to it
Ik
You can build around it tho
I'm actually not joking my bedroom looks really similar
I'm survival aswell!?
do you know the coords for it?
ok thanks
i did co-op with my frinds and in our base i had a room made of only reinforced walls for stability and they kept calling it my cave
rate the base??
safe shallows right next to the og lifepod
but only starting my proper base now 12 hrs in
I started to build my proper base like 25-30 hours in
This is my 200+ hour base in survival Iāve been waiting to show this base for nearly 5 years now and itās getting close to being finished
That is half of the base the rest of it is underwater
I call it, Atlantis
Thatās just one of many cool things that Iāve built in this world over the years
bro pulled the obraxis prime on limestone outcrops and metal salvage
im 10 hours in and all I have is scanner room, moonpool, a few rooms for storage, bioreactor, bed, and two indoor growbeds full of lantern trees
Give me a sec and I will show more
This is the underwater part
These are just some pics of around the base
This is my storage
treeguy556 is my twitch if u wanna see the rest of the world
thats a lot of storage
Ye
so amazing
Hardcore actually (itās like Survival, except your save is deleted if you die)
Oh no, do I need to change it?
How in the world did you manage all of that?! Are there actually that many resources in survival?
The resources respond after awhile
Why is the average base so big? My first base was like 5 rooms I think. 2 moon pools, one scanner, one main room, one storage room, one bed room, one generator room, and my aquarium room.
not any practical reason, it's just fun
and you're probably not seeing primarily average bases here
more-so architectural feats
Ah.
I think that now I know that resources respawn, I wanna build a tunnel throughout the entire map
Letās pray my switch can handle it somehow
Idk bout that
they dont???
wdym
Iāve had them respond before
when? and with mods?
No
Base game
Some do not respond but the basic resources do like metal salvage, and lead nodes and quartz
Everything for base building
Iāve never seen resources respawn
If u drop salvage in an area where salvaged spawns frequently more salvage will spawn around that salvage that you placed
Or at least it works for me
Do it with a scanner room
The best places to do it is around the Aurora, the dunes, crag field, and the mountains
Thats were you get the most
nah, only things that can respawn are from shale outcrops
and ion cubes
maybe metal salvage is on that list but i've never seen it happen
Iāve had savage and both quartz and lead, but as nodes respond before
Danggg
No no, it's fine lol
Just build my 5th base
Www
awesome!
bro an i thought that my base needing minimum 100 titanium was big
ignore how weak it is
lol
exterior nearly done still need to do all the bulkheads and reinforcements before starting inside
i just put 2 rods in my reactor how long will that last if my base needs 3000 power?
Wrong base lol
Like 80 mins?
Depends how much you use of it
Like mines been in for at least 2 hours, because it's not the only one being used, I have bioreactors and solar panels helping it
And each rod has 20k power
yeah i have a bio reactor aswell but its empty need solar pannels and there are 2 rods so hopefully that lasts a bit
does it go down while off line or only ingame?
exterior is now 90% done š„³ still need to do bulkheads ,hatches, windows more reinforcements glass roves, grow beds and the whole interior and a cyclops dock aswell
Very nice looking! Good job:)
Pardon me, but which biome is that?
Sparse reef
Exact co ords are - 621, - 621
Oh, I forgot about that! I am also planning on building my base near lifepod 19, neither too far but not too close! I need to get access to the cave for the rubies!
Yes you need to go to the life pod with that second officer guy (forgot his name and life pod number) but if that's life pod 19 then I'm also really close like 250 m away from him
It indeed is. I know where every lifepod is located. Need help locating one? Just ask me, Iād be willing to help.
Ok if I ever do I will ask haha
lol
Sorry, resources don't respawn. None of them.
Those that could be labeled as exceptions, do not respawn either. There's an entity spawning more of them, sure, but the naturally occurring ones do not respawn.
Titanium is available in extremely high quantities (~18k) so you're unlikely to ever run out.
Also you can transmutate quartz into titanium with the power of Markiplier
Hello everyone!
I need help with base building!
I'm looking for place and of course - a design - for a big base supporting multiple peaople.
I want it to contain:
- A warehouse (Big MPR)
- Water treatment section (at least 6 water purification stations) (MPR / Big MPR)
- Power section (2 nuclear reactors) (2 MPR)
- Cafeteria (MPR/ Big MPR)
- Conference room (MPR/Big MPR)
- Administration section (Big MPR)
- Sleeping quarters (At least 4) (MPR)
- Moonpools (At least 4)
- Indoor garden (Big MPR + MPR)
- Amusement section (Big MPR / MPR)
- Alien Tech lab (Big MPR)
- Viral and Bacterial Infections Reaserch Lab (Big MPR + Big MPR)
*MPR - Multi Purpose Room
I want to place flood gates between every section
You can do that nearly anywhere. But maybe you would prefer a place with vast horizontal ground and at least 20 m depth. Like Red grass plateau maybe? Or if you want to make it deep, try the Giant Cove Tree ( 800m deep )
You should build a giant underwater tower at the base of the mountain island with a laboratory in the nearby caves
each room holds 36 big lockers another room ontop of this btw
Why do you need all of that storage
Why not
Who doesn't?
I was like 99% sure this was the case, but thank you for confirming
Whats the cords?
my location
what are you forgot here? xD
hm?
I donāt know the coords per se, but if you go to Lifepod 13, itās right on top of that giant tree
thx bro i found it already
Guys somebody help me plss. How connect that sheesh to the room?
You cant
Nicee
enter base
press f1
I built this because idk, interior later
(Side note ignore the beacons..thereās about 50 more)
Thatās awesome!!!
(built in creative) rate 1-10!!
What biome is that? It looks awesome
i think thats a kelp forrest but all the creepvine was cut with a knife and isn't respawning
judging by the reaper swimming past and the name of hte beacon its near the crash zone close enough to a reaper
Cool
anyways ur probably gonna get swallowed by a reaper if u don't watch out so yeah
Nah, their just big puppies
very cute puppies that steal ur seamoth if u turn around š
Yeah, I normally put my base in the ||Dunes|| and I can't tell you the amount of seamoths I have lost
R.i.p those seamoths
They died serving their purpose
Any subnautica biomes suggestions for a base in creative?
u could go to one of the ||sea emperor roaming locations|| Dunes, mountains, grand reef, northern blood kelp, crag field or even the || primary containment facility with the adult sea emperor||
My subnautica crash zone base (in creative btw)
go into survival for like 30 seconds
dw nothings gonna happen
js some friendly creatures are gonna hug u
no u dont know the trick
trust
yes thats a trick so you get attacked by reapers i aldready know
nono defo not
whats good
it's right here
its like a tiny biome called "crash zone mesa" i didnt know it existed i found it in freecam
im gonna try to remake that base in survival
Cheers, its got a really cool vibe
yeah very cool vibe š
the puppies are gonna steal ur seamoth
Moonpool
Or you can get "get rid" of them
its a me the reaper (puppie) exterminator
š
- || Dunes ||
- || Under floating island ||
- || Cove Tree ||
- || Gargantuans Leviathan Skeleton in the lost river ||
||Giant Cove Tree||
how should i expand
Maybe add more multiuse rooms or big rooms
And also add a second floor
Idk
I'd recommend that if you want to expand a lot it might be worth considering moving to the red sand biome. Or an above water base ( which I have and is awesome )
Sky's the limit
Did some calculations on my megabases, based on Larry's video
rate the back of the aurora base! (made in creative)
no bed
sleep on the floor
oh i did forget a bed šŖ
Do you mean ||Grassy plateaus||?
Yeah
Okie š„š„
if you sleep outside (RIGHT in that biome) guess what happens ;)

rate from 1 to 10 my northen blood kelp zone base made in subnautica creative
ill give it a 6/10 tho an inside tour would be cool
Welcome to the Mega-base 2.0
This base has several features including: 1 Beluga Submersible, 1 Cyclops, 1 Hydra Submarine (Alterra Protype), Blossom submersible, 1 Prawn-suit (MK III), 4 Seamoths, 1 Eureka Jet and one Renault 5.
The new Mega-base 2.0 is a main research hub for Alterra Corp. It includes: 5 large rooms, 5 multipurpose rooms, 2 moonpools, 1 scanner room, above water observatory, outdoor planters, 1 runway and is fully powered by 2 state of the art bioreactors and multiple solar panels.
The all new Mega-base 2.0 has 11 beds across 5 bedrooms, 1 work room, 2 research labs, a cafƩ and kitchen and 4 alien containment facilities.
(its so laggy that i had to turn my graphics down to medium and decrease my fps limit) Anyways thats the Mega-base 2.0 done!
(please bear in mind its not actually trade marked) (This base includes mods)
Rate it out of 10
Mega/10
thank you!
How long did it take to build???
Around 5 hours
ty!
This is exactly why subnautica 2 needs a way to share a baseās floor plan with others
It would be cool
Download the cyclops docking mod!!!
I have it and i might put it in!
(had to dissable the mod because it was conflicting with other mods
YES SIRRR
Bro my laptop would burnout trying to render it
here is my Grassy Plateaus base in my Hardcore save, pretty much spent 90% of my entire hardcore world building thsi.
This is another shot in the morning.
- Living Quarters.
And the Recreational Room.
anyone just live in their cyclops
I used to, but as soon as I put a little time into making an established base, I no longer felt the need
awesome!
bases
I use to do that, it fits nearly everywhere where I want to go. And my Bed fits into the Cockpit š
Once I get one I probably will
What I do is just make a bunch of tiny bases to charge my power cells wherever
Context: at some time in other chat of the server, i mention that vehicles are significantly cheap, at least for me, the reason its some of my bases that i build on survival.
The outer hull are a good example, but its just 15% to 20% of material used
Some are used to functional machines, but most of the material, are used to non functional, like decorations and building sections
And Yet, i did not fineshed this base, still more than 40% empty yet..
the labs too much time to build, just because im like making this as minimal and precise detailed placement of some tables and lockers, unfortunetly i stil have to replant the samples of the growbed, because for optizing plant access, and the hitbox wall of the plant/living wall atachment its little glitchy, so its taking more space than planned, and cant even place a small wall plant pot, thats sad :/
getting fun cards games in the glass bubble, if it has cards, so became a audit bubble also
Fabrication complex and Material storage
Yeah, there is more, back there
yes, im using compacting storage crafting, and de-compacting it with the Reciclotron, so hiperdense storage base, and it stil not fineshed the decoration this room yet
"my room" or idk, some place that you wake up and start the day by taking coffe and cook or pass time, and other stuff maybe
for now, i estimate this base has used more than 60 Titanium Ingots, so in below zero 1 Ingot are 5 Titanium units, more than 300 titanium aproximated? and it still in building process, and yet its not the biggest survival base i ever build, at least not in below zero, i built a bit bigger base on the Classic Subnautica 1 at the time only existed multiporpose room and pipe corridors for building, but not sure if it was less cheap, or not
For now im still colecting material and building process, so eventualy e will post more if someone liked this SaeBase build type
And i would enjoy a feedback, or ideas if there is for the base
A base in Crash zone mesa I built like 2 hours ago
W
Unfortunately my first ever base has been lost forever since I deleted the save file it was on 2 or more years ago
The misspelling of physics and quarantine are throwing me
oh, sorry, i will correct that, in my language the word diference almost dont exist and takes me most time
just to get in perspective, Quarantine its "Quarentena" , Physics its "FĆsica" ("Ph" and "F" has the same sound and its forgot and became more used de "F" variant) Physics and FĆsica, its so similar in sound even when we try to typing it the sound makes this little mess
better now? sorry about that
Im curious as to why you're writing in your non-native language tho? Is is practice because your english is already very good
well, im not sure, i just like doing it, for some reason, makes more sense to me or looks good, and even makes possible typing most know words, especially when my native language have words that its usualy longer when they dont have similarity like the Quarantine or Physics, so some times just dont fit the complete word in the text plate because it uses like 5 Extra Letters
so if im try making the base in Portuguese (Brasil), can be words that wont even fit on the wall locker plate
and if make a hybrid its even worse and can be more confusing for others that will see
so, just better way its making it in english, for me
I love how the biology lab is just a bioreactor
well, it have some balcony to dissect some fauna and flora and lots of freezers for samples and creature eggs
Oh cool
in below zero, i did not find the lab tech equipment, like the ones you find in SBN 1
Oh ok
that why the lack of lab equipment in there, unfortunetly this decoration and lab tech stuff its not avaliable to craft or build, and we do find then in some below zero bases, but saddly most ins not collectable, not sure about why maybe people that just see this has no aplications or uses to survival, its just furniture, but still a thing that some players like use, i used a lot of then in my Classic SBN 1 Survival Sea Base, and even have to get a way to find some more in other wrecks
this room section is not completed, there will be an extention over the room next, that have some Alien Containment for "fauna observation and its interaction of the diferent eviroments" or something like this
other thing, that may not have sense for some build-deco-players, are the Power Cell Recharger, i understad it, because this have a functional use, but in there, im using it like a non purpose as well the power cell in then, the ideia is use like a power bank in emergency situations of power outages for the sample freezers, its expensive equipment and no, saddly it not do it, its jusk suck power from you base than gave back power when needed
Power Banks shoud be a thing in subnautica i guess, even when the solar panels have like 75 power buffer in then, but must of the time you just dont use all of it at once, and only get power in daytime and it get all the power back quite fast. So, maybe nerfing the solar panels has to be thing, today bases standards only require 1 or 2 solar panels and usualy its enough at beggining of the base, even a full operational scanner room can be driven by 3 or 4 solar modules below 100m
So if Power Banks it a thing that will be added, i realy will like to see, but some standards generation methods may have to be nerfed and also may have to be an expensive blueprint to build, or has attach it to a base wall or center
What do you guys think of my base?
what should I add on it?
Kinda lame for the biome tho⦠:(
and also lame cuz itās small and newbie
but I really like it on the inside
holy
Quite good, but um think It have lots of reinforced walls
Its possible make a base with less than 0.1 Hull points, If you get this odd number in specific ways
But If It still usefull as start of the game and mainly confortaveble to you, its ok and a good base
Is that a Bald Bio Reactor? Its so odd XD
To me its odd tƓ see a bio reactors without the bio gas pipes and stuff
Huuuummm Wait Minute
ARE YOU PLAYING AT PORTUGUESE?
Did i Just found a Brasilian?

Yep
you are my friend now XD

I like that the beacon just says "Home"
whatās with the tag?
Well I didn't mean to
yeah very creative, right? XD
They in fact did not make that, it is an image that has been circulating for around seven years. Here is one of the original Reddit posts by NelvisAlfredo (the creator) if you want to know more https://www.reddit.com/r/subnautica/comments/7zfx1f/the_largest_base_in_subnautica_88_multipurpose/
idk how but u should probably spoiler tag some of these images ._.
This channel can spoil I think.
Still building
Not mine but I like this https://www.reddit.com/r/subnautica/comments/1lc26ms/i_present_you_the_aurora_sky_base/
Thatās a beautiful base dude
How much materials did it take?? Over like 125?
my subnautica void base
I needed an excuse to keep playing the game lmao, it was my first playthrough. I don't even remember but being such a noob I had no idea being deeper in the water was gonna cause pressure and break my base so it was giving me a really hard time with how much glass I was working with lmaoooo thank u tho!! š©·š©·š©·
Fair point
Dude on my first playthrough I thought the Sea Emperorās call was Warpers trying to trick me
Mine is in the Sparse Reef.
Itās big
Btw, is there a way to take a pic on ps
creative???
Press right joystick
I do that
How do I send it to the discord
I donāt know if you can
Ye
New base in the ||sea emperor aquarium || š
yeah i forgot to feed it ._.
also have a part of it on the surface through the mushroom portal so i have reasonable acces to the sruface
forgot to leave a beacon ...
htats a map of the surface scanner room and yes on the right thats the dunes
Are all 4 upgrades distance?!
yeah
Crazy
speed is kinda useless if u just give the scanner room enough time to scan
Yuh
i always do 4 distance upgrades too
I love how you have a whole tank dedicated to Hoverfish
What about it
Put a stalker in it
Nah i already have pet stalkers stealing my cameras
It's just beautiful
Yes that's real
If you want them to stop the prawn suit can give them a friendly reminder
Nah i don't mind them stealing rhe cameras there aint much to see with a camera in ||the sea emperor aquarium||
Fr
Pretty boring base location
I like to build bases in the void or ||the lost river||
Imma move all my nuclear reactors to my ||aquarium base|| might takw a lil while

@tender marten the surface level I posted pic of above is what's behind the rocket in the view
cool use of the launchpad
mods
What mod let you do that
if the|| lifepod "survivors" actually made it to the floating island safely.|| Built this on a call with my friends xd
window spamming idk
what mod?
Decorations mod

no what mod for the mushroom tree in the planter
Decorations mod
my ||lost river gargantuan leviathan skeleton research base|| i made in creative
made a base in the popular aurora mesa biome
i love it
alr thanks
Honestly some of the best bases are little cozy ones
Why does that look so prettttyyyy
we are going to be lucky for sharing our bases this time
how did u get it o look that colour
Base colorizer
mod? š¦
Yes
After several hours, I finished my main survival base!
Neat!
Peak base, Iāve done the exact same thing as you did in your 2nd screenshot lol
Thank you for your complements!
This chat needs more bases
cozy š
NaOH is a base
oh @hollow escarp you can also always look up builds and stuff on youtube for inspiration š
there are really really cool base tours
i was obsessed with people building in the void for a while lmao
I always forget that exterior grow beds work above water
Guys I need ideas for what to build once I beat the game. Do I build an island settlement, a Leviathan observatory, or an underwater hotel?
I meant a human hotel that happens to be underwater
surew
but secretly a fish hotel /j
seriously though i think a hotel would look cool
Probably just a punch of large rooms that are stacked on top of each other and connected via glass compartments
mhm mhm i see the vision
Iām making a cliff base
Where?
hanging off the kelp forest into the grassy plateaus
oooo
You could build an observatory for every leviathan species with no more than one in a single biome...
at the end of my playthrough should I make an aquarium with all eggs and even a reaper
Exactly!
Reefback point, fort Reaper, Ghost Leviathan station, Sea Dragon bunker, and Sea Emperor palace
Hold up can hostile creatures damage your base? I havenāt had that happen but I donāt wanna risk building right next to a Sea Dragon and having the observatory get destroyed.
A great thing to do I donāt hear enough (maybe cause people donāt realise it) but || all the sea emperor juveniles grow up, and each have their own roaming place, and I always love to build observatories for them ||
i learned about that the other day š„ŗ so cool, i have to do that sometime
I think the only thing hostile creatures can potentially do to your base is push one of your vehicles into it, potentially damaging it then.
They tend to be sort of high up in the water column, I found, so it's not trivial to get a close look at them from a base.
verticall connectors to a high tube
That would do it, certainly.
At the end of my play through should I make an aquarium, if yeah where (doing this in the first game)
I found this in a time capsule. I wonder what's inside...
probably tools with ion batteries i just realised i should probably put an ion battery in my habi builder im still building my base
@pliant raptor
Yoooo it looks sick
tyy
Build a base in the void, like a ghost leviathan research facility
Anyone got any cool kelp forest bases?
Even a reefback?
||No but I have a base in save shallows, lava zone, lost river, yelljshroom caves and in grand reef||

<@&85343211593166848>
My main base is in the saveshalows
That's a big farm you have
Why not?
Having a big base is so cool!
I mean I guess
Fr
True
optimised base with infinite power coming from thermal vents in jellyshroom caves
I love that cyclops color design
Thank you
Iām gonna do this once I finish the story and check off some of the other things on my Subnautica bucket list
you could also build a base (either big or small) in every single biome, including the void
Iām gonna focus on the Leviathan laboratories first. Then maybe Iāll move on to other stuff like an Alterra colony or an island resort.
Ima do this with the return of the ancients mod on hardcore to scan everything
Lol, my prawn is also called Gipsy Dangerš
Yessirš¤
This seems like a pretty good list! Number 10 is probably my favorite.
Yeah it occurred to me that I havenāt been to the Dunes or the Crag Field, and I donāt wanna leave without exploring everything. After all, I still have to find the Markiplier bobble head lol.
Maybe it not be much, but its honest work.
Show us power set up?
that's hot
Imagine being able to place a moonpool inside a cool little cave that leads to your base
subnautica cyclops base tour!! (almost finished
just need to go with my prawn suit to the ||ILZ and get some kyanite|| for the thermal reactor module
the dock room is so well done with the table in the middle
this is my cyclops but its not even close

why did u name ur seamoth that š š š
Someone go to yr cyclops and put an aquarium to the hall by the engine pls
why is my cyclops gonna implode or smth
whats gonna fly the cyclops?
Yeah
ur evil
Iām gonna build all this stuff once I finish the story. Havenāt decided yet if Iām doing it in creative mode or not.
Biome recommendations are welcome for the āother buildsā section.
i thought this was talking about a minecraft base before the list loaded š
"creative mode"
What about an outpost in the Tree Cove?
void
Idk, you already mentioned alk my ideas above
My BZ garden, took me about 3 hours to make it
Ohh that's crazy
3 hours to make a garden? š
oh wait
thats still really fast for the amount of different plants
took me a lot of time because I had to construct and deconstruct a lot of growbeds
because I placed one of them wrong and to deconstruct it I needed to break that whole part of the base
but instead I loaded my old save and I had to construct the whole garden AGAIN
also spent 1 hours searching for that f*cking spotted dockleaf cuz I couldn't find it even with google
military outpost around the WHOLE void
Crater edge Military outpost edge
tho ig its more of a wall than an outpost
I don't like the plants on top of the exit tube, personally
you don't notice them from inside tho
first thing that came to mind
That sounds super tedious and I donāt think itād make much sense to have a wall around the crater
im gonna feed it to a reaper
jokes on you i already rammed a reaper to death with it
jokes on u im the reaper >:)
Named my seamoth "Toyota Corolla"
And my Sea-Truck "LUCKI" cuz I was listening to Lucki when I built it
Well it doesnāt make much sense to have 12 random bases either š buts itās all for fun
I mean the things I plan on building are mostly for aesthetics and fun worldbuilding
Just strictures that look nice and fit into the lore
then thers only 1 option
military outpost around the WHOLE void
It's very simple. Try to fill every blank space in your base with something tidious and colorful, like plant pots and wall shelves. Also another key factor is SIMETRY. Once you have simetry, everything will come along very nicely
tbh i usualy just avoid having empty rooms
oh yeah udnerstandable
tbh of all the rooms the only one i don't really mind when its empty besides an observatory is the moonpool
I use the moonpool to place Reinforcements for my base. I don't like to see it all white an empty tho, it's need a bit of color
*symmetry āļøš¤
The goat factor of designing
sorry about that
Yeat reference
Im building mine in regular mode. Its more tense that way.
Gardening base that i spent way too much titanium on
My survival baseš¤·āāļø
Iāll probably do most of the bigger builds in creative mode.
has anyone done a base using large rooms in like a stair/step formation?
Not that Iāve seen
Do you mean layered on each other? You cant do that exactly, ive tried
Darn
maybe I didn't have it symmetrical lol I will try that next time thanks!
My Below Zero Iceberg outpost. Used as a observation and research hub for both land flora and fauna. The 3 main sections being the living quarters, laboratory (fertilizing an exterior grow bed), and a greenhouse/enclosed fauna observatory.
I tend to really enjoy non-symmetrical bases, I find they're more interesting that way. But it's really up to the player!
tbh I love you using natural piece for your base (lightsticks and the spy pengling beacon) it looks awesome incorporating those into your build!
(At least I think that's a spy pengling beacon lol)
Yes it is, LOL. Thank you very much! I put a lot of thought into it's construction.
I try to be very thoughtful of all the bases I build. As sad as it sounds it took like 4-5 hours of work to finish this base...
no not at all!
sounds pretty accurate, I take the same time here haha
lemme post the base I've been setting up the past few days
My newest base, situated in the Deep Twisty Bridges! (Same world as my last BZ base: #š awesome-bases message) While the building is a little cramped, I really loved the colors and atmosphere, and thought I'd try it out! I'm nestled in this thin sideways crack in a wall where I get a great view of the Squidsharks patrolling outside! There are quite a few good observatory spots, including one right over a Spikey Trap on the far side of the base! I do typically keep most of the base lights off, since I think it works with the atmosphere better, but I turned a few on for some shots! (I couldn't get a ton of full base shots due to the weird topography and terrain around, so let me know if there's a part you'd like to see in more detail.)
A few shots of my situationally friendly yet continually hungry neighbors!
(Also idk why the shots are blurry on max graphics, I apologize :p)
I love the aquarium floor for the bedroom! I wanted to do that for my base so bad especially since Robin is a xenologist I thought it would be perfect for her character. But I never knew where to build it and the building restrictions with the terrain annoy me so much it takes hours just to place all the base pieces in a way that satisfy me š.
Mine were taken on a 4k monitor so maybe thatās why thereās a difference in resolution but they still look gorgeous!!
I think itās more about the lighting and atmosphere anyways
Oh 100%, this took a while, mostly fiddling with terrain and weird buildable interactions, I really love the look alien containments have on the mutipurpose rooms above them, so I do that quite frequently!
The atmosphere of a biome and any special features it may possess (creatures, interesting terrain, other locations of interest) is probably my main drive for making a base somewhere. I don't want to live somewhere if it's not super pretty to look at!
youtuber named BreathTaker just gave me the best place to build my Sea Emperor Palace
I actually met the juvenile Sea Emperor that lives in the Crag Field while I was playing today. Dropped a beacon in his territory so I can go back later and start building.
i suck at base building can someone help
For a bit of fun, build in the caustic brine.
Filtration working overtime š
frfr
Sure! Whatcha need help with? Let's go to #subnautica-chat or #below-zero-chat (depending on what game you'd like to build in)
There are actually several thermal hot spots down there, but you won't find them without using a vehicle's thermometer.
Right now that base runs of a nuclear reactor but il find the thermal spots and get it running off that.
My 2nd playthrough mountain base by the ||QEP|| and reaper observation station by Eileen
I have scanner cams on Eileen and Mabel. Mabel's close enough to the surface to see but I found other scanner cams to be the most effective way to illuminate Eileen at 200m deep, floodlights just don't have the range I need. Eileen came up to the station once to inspect with her teeth but didn't leave any damage so I think she approves. I keep an army of crabsquid to subdue my evil ||warper|| neighbour who lives in the cave below me. The location isn't great overall I often have to go on big excursions for basic materials but its worth it for Eileen she'd do the same for me trust
from the first imagei thought that was in the ||aquarium|| but nwo i see that its the mountains
Mountain bases underrated
My gameplay method is exposure therapy first was crabsquids second was reapers if im scared of something in one playthrough ima force myself to live right beside it in the next
Very nice
Someday Iāll build a full-scale Alterra colony (probably in creative mode lmao)
Made a whole city damn!!
Is every room used for something or is it just big for fun
for fun
it took away my sanity tho the amount of times i died
building
Uptade on my base. Now it has an indoor and outdoor farm, nuclear recator, storage room, aquarium and a reefback observatory. Its kinda empty on the inside but ill work on it
Bases that are both underwater and on land are fun.
I built this at the bottom of the void in BZ without cheats. There's a tiny sliver of the "world edge" biome that lets you swim all the way down there provided you have enough oxygen, so I took a bunch of stuff down there and built a base with everything I could need (including all of the useful plants).
Base on island near mercury
Oh awesome
thanks
Now that Iāve beaten Subnautica, Iām gonna switch to creative mode and start working on the Leviathan Laboratories and stuff. Hopefully tomorrow Iāll start with Reefback Point in the Grassy Plateaus.
so hype to see
Didnāt spend a whole lot of time on my base in my original playthrough, so itāll probably take a while for me to fully learn the intricacies of base-building
thats okay c: take your time with it and have fun
Got a really cool updated cam drone pass of the Latest Sea Base I'm playing in in fact the video so good some will say it didn't come from a Xbox I had to get special Permission from xbox to get this video done and Uploaded which is taking a while to get uploaded so it can be posted. hoping it'll be ready today

Update on my first real base build, Reefback Point.
Uh⦠I feel like I need to make a written floor plan because is mostly just a mess of rooms and tubes. The only rooms that Iāve decorated are one of the moonpools and part of one of the large rooms thatās supposed to be an office.
Iām probably gonna deconstruct and start fresh with a really big slab of foundation pieces
When I get back from lab today, yes
Did a 3 in 1 base in creative as a theory test. Going to give a try at building it or something like it in survival while i wait for Grounded 2 and S2 EA. I did use some mods.
@daring pond
here's my base as it was yesterday
that black line is where it is on the map
ohh alr
its actually really really good
I don't have a picture of my base and I'm too lazy right now
It's between the mushroom forest closest to the Aurora and in the Grassy Plateaus
It's just a moonpool with everything in it
my blood kelp zone base, I wanted to rebuilt it cuz I didn't like it so much, can someone suggest me a good design?
Reefback Point is 30-40% done I think.
If you saw this in the wrong chat before no you didnt but this is my huouuusuusssseeeeeeee in a horrible location gameplay-wise but its so pretty I had to live here
I think they ought to have connected the Deep Lilypad Cave to the ||Crystal Caves|| somehow, because this biome is too gorgeous for a place you only have to visit one time
I feel the same about s1 jelly caves to the river
To Alterra HQ,
An update on the 4546B Leviathan Laboratories:
After extensive exploration, a few suitable locations have been discovered for the Leviathan Laboratories.
Construction has begun on Reefback Point in the Grassy Plateaus. The moonpools, scanner tower, and barracks are all nearing completion. Two possible locations in the Dunes have been identified as a suitable spot for Fort Reaper, although there are other biomes to consider. A mapping team will be dispatched to the Crash Zone and the Mountain biomes to investigate the Reaper population and search for strategic laboratory locations. So far, two juvenile Sea Emperors have been discovered. One resides in the Crag Field, and the other in the Dunes. Searching for other Sea Emperors is not of utmost importance at this time.
Due to the higher danger rating and equipment limitations, scouting for Ghost Leviathan Station and Sea Dragon Bunker have been delayed. Exploration will resume once Reefback Point is completed and the rest of the supplies arrive. In conclusion, the project is proceeding on schedule.
Sincerely,
Kevin Tallus, Leviathan Laboratories Director
Iām not sure why I wanted to send this as like an in-universe message to Alterra, but Iāll figure out how to post screenshots of Reefback Point someday.
This has shown me that I donāt know anything about base building
Idk how to make a base look good and I never have a plan for the layout
The other Sea Emperors are in the ||mountains|| and ||grand reef||
Well there's also a 5th one but I have no idea where that guy lives
Iāll find each of them and then pick a spot
The transition between those two windows in the first pic is crazy
my 2nd base next to the jellyshroom around the aurora thereās nothing in the interior other than in the large room
This is what the beluga looked like when Barbie was the captain
Found a teen swimming above the ||northern blood kelp zone||
As in teen emperor
O yea kohllep you finna do one on sea treaders or too much work on top of your already huge project
I remember hearing somewhere that the Sea Treaders stop spawning if you build a base too close to them
I havenāt tested it but I wasnāt planning on doing a base for the Sea Treaders
Ah
But with the teen emperor I made my base close to it and randomly it was at my window
I think my Sea Emperor Palace is either gonna be in the Mountains or the Crag Field
I made a base there and after that not one sea treader made an apperance
For like 15 hours in game i saw no sea treaders, even farther out in the biome
But i did see their feces randomly appear but no sea treader anywere
Roughly judging by the pictures on the wiki, out of all Sea Emperor locations, the one with the clearest water is in the Grand Reef
Just something I thought you might want to know
After thinkning a bit about it, I might make a Sea Emperor observatory on my hardcore world
I live in the Underwater Islands, which neighbours two Sea Emperor biomes, and they both even have other leviathans
But perhaps the Grand Reef is just too pretty and I'll build there
What's that tablet in the third picture on top of the bed?
Cool design, btw
tablet?
My base on top of the large mushroom tree
Itās a picture frame, you can display any pictures you took in your world, and itās found in a few wrecks around the world and also aurora
What I had built so far on the main base
The two multipurpose rooms at the edge both contain bioreactors
And I might add some more solar panels to the other side
i got my jellyshroom enclosure set up š
@placid juniper was not prepared for the epic/odyssey reference to hit me like a truck but that is amazing, great base!
I strongly recommended doing a playthrough of both games in Survival mode without eating any plants or using bladderfish for water. It's a fun challenge that forces you to build little outposts everywhere with edible plants growing. You can't easily get away with just having one base and using the thermoblade.
You might need to speedrun getting plant seeds before running out of initial supplies (and eating creepvine before that)
My little outpost in the small mushroom forest. I really hope there is more of a point to building outposts in the new game and also to exploring the various biomes.
THANK YOU!! š š«¶
I decided to use Epic/Odyssey as a naming scheme this time around. I even gave the islands proper names, Aeolus Island and Calypso Island
That's brilliant. I will admit to naming my seamoth Ody, and my cyclops Hermes, although that's a double reference to the Martian as well. I'm thinking I'll name my Prawn suit Penelope when I make one š
Final updates on my base! I finally finished it. I made a lil one on the land and in the cyclops too. Idk what to build now so if you have any ideas lmkš¤·āāļø
Looks great, if you want build ideas I can offer a few projects I've thaught of for when I have enough resources - like an alien containment tank for each major biome planted with the specific plants and put the corresponding animals in. Some would look quite cool, like the oculus and jellyshroom biome stuff, or a kelp & stalker tank with cute hoverfish. Don't know if this helps
Thanks honestly a great idea! Ill do that right now!
I think I might make a base in the jellyshroom caves using thermal reactors
And I'll have a platform going up to the surface because I like the above ground hatch
To Alterra HQ,
An update on the 4546B Leviathan Laboratories:
Since my last message, notable progress has been made on multiple fronts of this project.
Construction continues on Reefback point, but the local Sandshark population has proven a bit of a nuisance. Estimated completion is 50%-65% and most essential systems are operational.
The mapping teams in charge of Fort Reaper have investigated all biomes with a native Reaper Leviathan population and returned safely. After reviewing their data, the Aurora Crash Zone biome has been eliminated as a possible location. Construction had just started one one of the three locations deemed most viable in the Dunes biome, but a sudden Reaper Leviathan attack completely demolished the structure. The same Reaper also killed three crew members before the PRAWN suit security team was able to scare it off. We have since returned to the location phase.
As previously mentioned, location has been delayed for Ghost Leviathan Station and Sea Dragon Bunker.
In other news, a member of one of our mapping teams discovered a massive cave-like entrance in the Mountain biome at a depth of nearly 400 meters. Short-range PDA scans detected numerous fossils in the region. This subterranean biome wasnāt on the orbital scans, but a fossil observation outpost could provide useful data.
In summary, the project has faced minor setbacks but is still proceeding on schedule.
Sincerely,
Kevin Tallus, Leviathan Laboratories Director
Makes sense to eliminate the Crash Zone, the water is so murky it's terrible for an observatory
Hey guys I want to know yāallās thoughts on my base and my cyclops and if I need some more stuff
Love the entrance partition on the large room, that's a nice way to section it. Great colour scheme on the cyclops, looks amazing
What do you guys think?
This is my first time playing Subnautica, and that's what I had built so far in my base
This is my storage room š
And this is my crafting/resting room š
The two multipurpose rooms with hatches, both contain bio reactors, and I built some solar panels, too
There are 2 other large empty rooms, which I don't know what to build in, any suggestions?
Thx for the feedback
Alien containment are good for the space and have practical use while being pretty. Especially if you put oculus or reginalds in for the bioreactors. Or the counters and lab equipment in a mock lab, or making a coffee station bench setup
Alright guys so Iāve been doing lots of expanding to my base the past couple hours and this is what Iāve donāt and Iām thinking this is where Iāll end off my base let me know what you thing of the expansion.
I will never understand people who build a base in the Blood Kelp zone/trench. I find the biome dark and kinda boring. Seeing the Blood Kelp glow at night is cool, but I donāt wanna live in the same neighborhood as Warpers, Crabsquids, Ampeels, etc.
I almost always build my base in the Grassy Plateaus because itās pretty to look at and has decent resources.
I did build my base in grassy plateaus the pillar I started my base on tho was right by that revine so I just thought that Iād extend my base down there on top of being in grassy plateaus
Honestly can see the appeal of that location, especially when you have a way to exit the base outside the trench if you need. I may be insane but I'm seriously considering the northern blood kelp zone's lost river entrance as a base location for my survival game. Made one as an experiment in creative and kinda love the location, just outside the river itself, but honestly not sure if I could survive the terror of the hostile creatures actually being hostile and having to worry about dying. It's not exactly my choice of entrance for the list river
guys is this a good place to ask for ideas for my base?
I wanna live in the same neighbourhood as ampeels and crabsquids cause they're cool š¤š¤
Absolutely
What kinda ideas are you looking for?
I prefer the Mountain corridor because thereās plenty of room for the Cyclops. Before I knew about the Mountain entrance, I was trying to maneuver my Cyclops through the deep Grand Reef like a moron
And here I am eyeing the blood kelp trench š
I used the Mountains corridor as an entrance once and my impressions were...
Well, the thing is, I never managed to complete said journey, because the ampeels in the Bulb Zone forced me to keep my shield on at all times
I was down to 36% power before entering the Lost River
Least favorite entrance by far
Yikes, sounds like a nightmare. I'm kind of glad that I'm paranoid enough to have a locker with several charged power cells in my cyclops before I've managed to get into a situation that needs them
Tbh my base is kinda empty
And my base is in the grand reef....
This is what it looks like
That's not the grand reef...
Wait no it's the lost River
Indoor planters and plant pots can help add colour, and you could use an empty space as an indoor greenhouse style arrangement with wall planters and panels as well. Lantern fruits work well as decorative and usefull, but there's also voxel shrubs and grub baskets. If you want to decorate the walls, picture frames could be good, and wall shelves if you have things to put on them. If you want to fill a space in a room, then a counter, coffee machine, vending machine and trashcan combo can work well like a floating kitchen island in a canteen - could work in your cafeteria like room. That and making a lab looking area for decoration if you wanted to fill space
Beyond that, I've found that 2 glass L shapes arranged in a u turn makes for a pretty nice viewing platform from a room or corridoor
Tbh my neighbor the ghost leviathan I named his jimmy
Hi everybody, can you guys rate my base. I made it in creative and I need advises pls
It looks good but it could use some more decoration. I myself am a big fan of planting kelp by my base for the yellow glow. Maybe some windows in the big block of large rooms?
I completely agree, I just didn't have time to add details but I will. Like kelp between large rooms
I was wondering if I can add a 2nd floor but I don't know how it will be looking
Looks great layout wise, good organisation and looks good aesthetically, maybye more windows in the upper large rooms or make a little LL observatory linking two slots in a u shape as a viewing deck, and if you want to decorate outside exterior growbeds are great
Finally got around to taking pictures of my creative project, a sort of test base for a lot of moonpools for both seamoth and prawnsuits, that Im trialing to find the best layouts. Plan is to create a small fleet of specialised suits to experiment with the upgrades without having to worry about the practicalities (eg putting 4 storage modules in a seamoth).
I love ur idea with the observatory
Making a hotel-like base
That looks great!
The interiors are gorgeous, and I love the idea of using the desk as part of the bed. The little cafe area is incredible.
Guys I have finally had the guts to make myself a void research base let me know what yall think
How do I make the huge rooms?
In Sn1 or BZ?
In subnautica, once you get the blueprints for the multipurpose room you should also get the blueprints for the large room. Not sure about below zero.
In BZ you need to scan the room seperately
Think I'm finished on my blood kelp zone/lost river entrance base. Should be doable as a survival base although the location may change, I think I like the overall arrangement. Thoughts?
Good views though š
I wonder, does this class as an alien containment unit from the perspective of 4546B?
one of the compartments has to remain empty so it can be deconstructed to add a hatch to enter or exit lmao
Yh, figured that would be the only way to get a doughnut base (if only hatches couls be put on L compartments), but this would make a surprisingly decent mini base arrangement with the empty on being a T or X segment.
also, is a base the size of this layout i have here doable for survival
with costs in mind for survival
How do you get in?????
still working on entrences to the large rooms
mainly just a concept rn
I meant the donut haha, but thatās looking good!
Yes but it will be a lot of resources, accounting for the base integrity shouldn't be too much of an issue if you have a good foundation setup and reinforce / bulkhead when needed if you're expanding a lot.
chair room
FIREEE
From an old game save. Perspective is a bit off, it's a composite of 3 pics.
Thatās incredible
Reminds me of the petronas towers
Does anyone have any advice for making a pretty looking growbed arrangement, like what plants look good together?
Banana
Creepvine and blood kelp
Kumquats
I personally love what I did in this room
Thatās a lot of decorations holy moly
thx
Replace the wall planters with windows and that might be my ideal Subnautica bedroom
