quartz
don't worry, you won't run out for quite some time
if I can make all of this in my hardcore and still have titanium left you'll be good xD
Way easier to do that now that we have these big rooms in the new update
true, although I feel like it kind of defeats the challenge
Btw did they respawn all materials with the update? I am starting to see alot more titanium deposits in the lost river now after the update
These new rooms are insane they have the size of 4-3 multi purpose rooms
Can you connect them to other ones directly or do you have to use buildings or a compartment between them?
They can stack on top of each other like multi purpose rooms
oh
Now I feel like wasting all my titanium and building 10 of them on the top of each other
I also noticed an abundance of materials again as well. I also have a base in the lost river. I had to start looking in other biomes for titanium before the update
They probably respawned materials which is pretty good since I almost completely drained everything in the river and ||lava zone||
If I recall correctly, every update resets the map
This reset also respawns dead creatures, I think
More leviathans to slay🙏
Yes
I imagine someone's killed off a Leviathan to build a base in it's territory
They're gonna get a surprise
good, it'll bring back the leviathans people have needlessly killed
Why kill a leviathan to build a base around it? Leviathans are the cool thing in the area not the terrain. I’d rather build in a boring place with a leviathan than a cool place that’s peaceful as hell
I mean, both are cool
why not a cool biome with a leviathan, like the NBKZ or Grand Reef
Try a 1 moonpool base. Pretty fun.
indeed it is
my main base of operations, stationed in tree cove
Nice
misty
Isn’t that drowning?💀
Probably just a visual glitch so I doubt it
Yeah, it’s just a visual glitch. I’ve tried it and it doesn’t hurt ya
Sets the mood tho
wouldve shown the inside but its not decorated
it's decorated but some parts aren't
rate the base
7/10 id like to see the inside and would like a litle more size verticaly and some filler rooms but if u fix that its a easy 10/10 for me
https://tenor.com/view/spongebob-explosion-nuke-bikini-atoll-gif-8958390
This is your base if you swim inside the containment
how lmao
im still adding stuff to the base
here's a nice aquarium i got in the middle of the base with gary fish and cuddle fish
Oh no🫣🫣😵
I dumped all of my crashfish I had stored into the aquarium I'm gonna make more crashfish
How do you get them
crashfish eggs look like big red marbles. you just drop them in an alien containment to hatch them
I got multiple eggs in the shallow area and just went from that
lr bases are my favorite type of base
Would live to make a lr base but that sounds way too late game for me
Maybe an outpost
you know what, the Lost River is one of the few biomes I probably wouldn't want to make a base in (apart from the Tree Cove cause it's beautiful)
which seems strange given how much I like to build bases in all sorts of places, idk what it is exactly about the Lost River but I just don't really like it for bases, maybe it's the green colour that puts me off
and that's weird too come to think of it cause green is my favourite colour xD
I love the Lava Zone and Tree Cove for bases but the rest of the Lost River is just kinda meh
could also be due to the fact that the whole area feels like a giant corridor rather than a closed off biome
idk man, i love it
Hey guy, just a question i don't know where to place my base that can help me ( in which biome according to resources and beauty thank <3) and merry Christmas
do you want a central base, a pretty base, or a base that has access to lots of resources
A pretty base and a lots of resources
I'd suggest tree cove or grand reef/deep grand reef. They can reach a lot of resources pretty shortly
the tree cove can get to the ILZ quickly as well as the LR and it has a bit of minable nodes in the tree cove
the grand reef has more resources close to it but you can reach the floating island and the LR pretty easily
Deep Grand Reef is a good one, I have a base there
you can go Blood Kelp Zone if you want tons of quartz
Ok Thank you bro and big love from France 🇫🇷
Currently I am more in the resources to make the cyclop to explore other biome
Deep Grand Reef has a decent amount of resources for that
although if you haven't made the Cyclops yet it might be a bit deep for you just yet
Oh thah nice
tbh the cyclops resources can basically be found in the grassy plateaus and thing
iirc its plasteel ingots, advanced wiring kit, enamled glass, lead, and smth else
My starter shack. Tiny, but it's all you need for a long time.
I don't even have a fabricator-I use the one in the pod.
I've been using FCS Mods for my bases, might end up sharing them here and ask for feedback
I miss building on wall ivy planters. I feel there is a loss of creativity now
Its sad it does not let us anymore. I use to like to out fabricators and other stuff on wall planters. It made it look good.
It really highlights the items hung from it. But i cant do this anymore since the recent update. That makes me sad.
i feel the same way :( i used to hang wall planters on ivy walls, loved how green it all was, really miss it but haven't been able to since 2.0
I want it back.
THEY DID WHAT NOW!? That was my bread and butter
I miss it too
it like, really takes the point of ivy walls away for me if i can't even hang wall plants over them 😭 i feel like there's almost always a better/more decorative use for that space now
Don’t worry Fam, I got y’all…. Kinda of…
I was able to recreate a glitch I found in below zero a while, and been experimenting with it whenever I had energy
I’ve tried it out in OG Subnautica, and it only works with a couple of wall decorations as well. You know you’re able to so it, if you still get the prompt to deconstruct reinforcement wall/ window
I seem to have more freedom in multipurpose rooms, and other type of compartments won’t work with the glitch. I’ve only experimented with so much and too low energy to share all my notes
Here’s what I was working on in BZ. At least wall planters and posters work with the glitch, they do not in original
^
Good to know 👍
smort
Didn't know image frames worked that way (image being visible on both sides)
omg thank you
Seems like the image is visible from both sides (so from one side it's flipped).
Not sure if it's one texture or 2 textures with one being flipped(but then why add it if it's not supposed to be seen).
I could never it looks so crowded how do you even get around and not fall into the water
So I've got a sort of ecological study base going on, it's positioned in the grassy plateaus area with a section hovering over an entrance to the jellyshrooms. It's pretty bland so I'm hoping some of ya'll could provide feedback and/or ideas? c:
Guys How Does This Base Looks Rate It Plz 1 To 10
10/10, More creativity then me, could never think of that
carefully lol
this was a creative base though so I didn't actually use it like I would in a proper playthrough, I just built it for fun to see how much stuff I could cram into a moonpool
Like Alpaceus already said, it just happens to be visible from both sides
I LOVE making ecological bases so I can abuse picture frames like so. I do something like this in both games and I also like having aquariums showcasing fishies from the biome the base is in.
Also a metric || || ton of plants
Also, this lad had a shared a cool looking lab recently to get inspired from #🏠awesome-bases message
this layout is beautiful!!!
esp the symmetry in the last pic
For a second I thought there was a Cyclops there
I wanted to ask for your opinion to my base
Oh wow, this is actually brilliant, awesome job. It's definitely given me a couple ideas, but unfortunately I am using the legacy branch of subnautica so I can use mods with it, so large bases and such arn't an option to me, but I can manage.
#🏠awesome-bases message I got some inspiration from this person for my base after they got inspiration from me
Oooooh, that’s a good way to focus more on the logs! Really wish they add a way to upload our favorite entries onto frames in their next game
Ooooooh, I see you’re a fan of base flooding too <3
What did you put in the large rooms? They are so many
Thanks
Hospital waiting room
I ran out of ideas with mine
Nice
Technically
That is awesome designed
Thank you!
Oo
the depth is 69 m
Looks cool but why do you have so many moonpools?
multiplayer , 3 players and 3 prawn suit and 3 seamoths
Ah
didn't know you could put those frost vase things in plant shelves, notes taken
Currently only have a video, but I tried to make arcades with the jukeboxes. Then I encountered a bug that I WISH that was an available light setting for the control room, except it dims the lighting
just tinkering with some gardening . kelp forest base and pod in creative.
looks nice from inside for sure. just love the glow of the vines
thanks a lot this reply helps a lot I really appreciate it and also tried making every room functional
at a distance the clusters of kelp almost look like underwater fungi or jellyfish
gives off a cool vibe
imo it would look better in the kelp forest biome and then adding growbeds for extra density in areas that need it and just better overall density
That's how I started. Then I started a new creative and just got lazy and it came out this way. Hehehe. Your right though kelp forest looks better.
I actually sunk that one deeper into the forest too. But I kept accidentally drowning as I got distracted working on it.
it started out as just a littol base and I think I've turned it into a full blown colony by mistake lol
SHEEEEEEEESH
thank you unknown worlds for teh update
shroombase is in progress
what's the point of base flooding?
It dims the lights in bases In Subnautica, and allows better use of your scanner room.
I normally leave my scanner room and a compartment flooded so the bright white walls aren’t burning holes in my retinas
main base in progress any suggestions
In progress? That’s bigger than I would have ever thought abt
Although if u want suggestions I’d say try to make more glass roofs on the buildings
i want to put every obtainable item in my base
Yo make it look better u know
yeah
Oh I c lol
yeah its also got 4 nuclear reactors i plan on getting 8 to 12
Ya all I’d rlly say is just add more glass roofs on the large and multipurpose rooms but other than that it looks rlly good
ok thx
Just saying u probably don’t need that much lol but I can go for it if u want
well i plan on having a lot of things that constantly use power
Where do u enter besides the moon pool?
Oh Alr
ive got a hatch on a T junction
Oh ok
ive also got 6 water filters
I’m planning on making an “cyclops dock” later on tho
im gonna make one too i just need more stuff lol
That’s a lot tbh did u farm all that lithium for reinforcements?
i just put the drill arm on the prawn suit
and found a few nodes
also the mushroom forrest
True with a base that massive the there probably is almost nothing on ur map lol
yeah
Oh I’ll try that then
yeah its craling with litium on the sea floor
ok thank you for the suggestions
I'd say make it less flat
add some mp room towers
ok thx
base update
Cyclops dock
not yet im trying to get the mod to work
No like make a thing out of tubes to hold the cyclops
ah ok
(Mod Related) Finally got some good power for the ecological base.
how u make that
is it like a mod or sum
there's supposed to be a hatch there
New 2.0 update, go check it out :)
Anyone got some cool cozy interior base designs
New update. They added the staircase so you can actually get inside land bases
and the glass dome (also visible)
can you guys maybe send some insparation photos of your best rooms
Rate My Base
I got you
And this room is below the bedroom
Nuclear power is behind my player
0
Not symmetrical, has too many pipes, cyclops parked in a non organized way
If you haven't finished the game then 10/10
Bcs no one cares about bases until their done with the game
nah i'd say 7/10
its pretty good just could do with more symmetry like the previous person said
and maybe more g5lass if u can fit it
Mhh not rly but thx
new base addition and cyclops dock mod
Too big lol
Well it's going to have everything obtainable in the game in bulk storage and display
Why does everyone complain about its size
I get hard to navigate but I fixed that with building in a square and sticking to a main hall
Alien containment I built in the sparse reef, also serving as a sort of mining outpost.
Cool
anyone wanna vc
I would but my younger brother took over my pc
ok
in 5 mins sure
OK
i mean yeah, if people wanna complain base size they should just check the pins
wait you can do that
ohhh thats nice
How you make the lighting like that
well I'd assume they built a base in jellyshroom caves, and the jellyshrooms in the ACU probably help
wait they said they built in sparse reef
but the jellyshrooms definitely play a part in it
I used a mod to disable the base lights and also used Fcs for neon strip lignts
o yeah i forgot mods existed
@plush ridge yes with mods
omg i tried it for 2 hours
Lol, I'll start putting mod disclaimers on mine to avoid confusion
good move lol
Yeah you made me question everything I built bcs it looks ugly
Stuff I built looks ugly, not yours lol
Sorry I still can't English good
It is a little tricky to build nice looking things with the basic subnautica basepieces
That's why u go symmetrical with tons of cyclops
Bases
There are ways to make a base look nice
But you need to design the base from the ground up with looks in mind
happy new year bozos
Happy New Year
@dawn briar what is the docking mod you use
its just called cyclops docking mod its on nexus and is the first mod that pops up when you search cyclops
Cheers
its also the only docking mod for the cyclops still on nexus i believe
i could be wrong but its the only one ive seen
My new base setup
this large room 💀
what about it
Large Rooms are pogchamp!
Fr
I love large rooms, but I find them a lot more difficult to fill than a bunch of multipurpose rooms
they almost have too much space lol
very true
Yea
How many solar panels are there?
Does anyone have any recommendations for base locations in below zero
Tree Spires, Lilypad Islands, Deep Lilypads, and Twisty Bridges are some of my personal favourites
Deep Twisty Bridges looks cool but I wouldn't recommend building there unless you're fine with Squidsharks putting holes in your base every other minute 😂
I like the Purple Vents. There's a location at the shallowest point with a nice build pad, though it's right on the edge of too close to the Chelicerate.
I'll throw up a picture in a bit, maybe
Pls do
Here it is. V shallow, easy access to Delta Island, Twisty Bridges, and the Lilypads. Solar isn't great unless you build a bunch, and the vents are okay-ish for thermal help at night. I usually place thermal plants in the lava geysers near Delta Station Dock and run power transmitters. Now, don't go any further east-southeast! The Chelicerate is just out of sight in the mist.
Here, I'm hovering over the flat spot. Note the bearing and distance to the landmark.
Is it southeast from the life pod
?
And what’s a chelicerae
Fyi I’m new to this game
I would suggest, at least for a new, to let the game lead you. Gameplay will guide you to Delta, and then you should go from there. If you aren't experienced and go off the general starting sequence the game wants you to do, you are gonna get eaten a lot.
Chelicerate is a Leviathan class creature, the BZ equivalent of the reaper.
I played the odd subnatica a lot so I just need to learn the game
I’ve seen a chelicerae before
Sorry I had housework. Yeah, it's approximately 600m due SE of the life pod
@heady jacinth what direction is it from the life pod
See above
Thx
wdyt of my base ?
i've build it at the entrance of the sacred tree so that I can still park the seamoth I use in the lost river (renamed it deepmoth to better differenciate it)
Scanner base
(Asking about opinion because I'm not sure) what is best option for a sort of viewing tower above the water?
Obervatories, fully glassed multipurpose room or a a small loop of glass compartments?
(or maybe something slightly different)
i'm almost done with the game, so before I go : what do you think of my main base ?
I mean
i'm a one man crew, so what would be the point in making a gigantic base ?
No no listen
The game is about conquering the land
Spread your territory
Assert dominance over all fish
im late but then you also get to install windows and see all the cool fishies
Where is this place?
On the map ?
It's in Below Zero
Oh ok...
The new Nuke Bomb ! Don't try at your home !
Also, this map is innaccurate to an extent
It is like 60% wrong
nah
its from a really early stage of the game
like 2013-14?
not really sure
ooh, I like this
quite a unique design with the central area overlooking an outdoor garden
The full base here. The oculus are there for the energy of course.
Ahah. :þ It tooks a while to grab one of each seed. More than the actual farming I would say, I went in the ||ILZ|| for the quartz.
I have 2 bases where I have at least 1 of every plantable flora in the game, except Tiger Plants lol
so yeah I definitely know the pain of having to get every seed hehe
I wanted to have the tiger plant, like in a separated area on its own, but even there I'm sure it will hit the base.
I made the mistake of putting one in an alien containment once...no further explanation required 😂
Although, they are now passive in containment. I should place one there.
Since the last update.
oh really? I didn't know that
that's handy
did the 2.0 update increase performance in any way?
Yes.
The pop-up is the same though. The clipmapping settings weren't changed since pretty much the release I think.
the main reason I haven't played in a few months is because my lag got so bad it was just unplayable, I mean it's not like I didn't expect it having my Reaper cage lol but it really was getting to be a pain so eventually I just stopped
not sure how much the new update would help, probably not much at this rate
Bases are always loaded, so indeed if you want to make a lot of them you need a very good computer.
I also am just in need of a new computer
a lot of my games lag now, was playing Raft for the first time with friends yesterday and even at all the lowest settings my fps was pretty bad most of the time
it'd be nice if there was a mod that stopped rendering bases outside of a certain range, not sure if that would be possible though
The reason they are always loaded, is because the energy needs to be added, creatures need to breed, etc.
Even if you aren't there.
makes sense I guess
I have a performance mod, it seemed to work at first but it doesn't appear to be doing much now lol
I feel like it really is just my computer at this point because I loaded up an entirely new creative save and it lagged just as badly as my hardcore which has 4 bases, most of them large
last one isn't quite finished, I would like to complete it at some point
then I plan to start a new hardcore save
my new base
There is also a small collection of animals
why isnt this connecting? are the solar pannels on the room messing it up or something?
anyone?
clear image
alright i fixed this but now my transmitters are barely taking any power from my thermal plants
how do i use vertical connectors lol
they only attach to hallway pieces. you can use them to add floors to your base.
I think they also work with rooms
nope. it would be cool if they did though
my below zero base. Thoughts ?
Overall layout looks good
Garden seems a little small to me but there’s not much for decorative gardening in BZ so….
My new ||ancient leviathan skull|| base in the LR
my second ever base, decided to move out of the safe shallows what do yall think
Outpost Quantum, an Alterra Research Facility devoted to uncovering the secrets behind the Precursor's advanced technological discoveries.
(Including the facilities' beloved alien ‘mascot’, for lack of a better term; Alaniea the Titan Holefish)
That looks sick
im at the pilots last known position, where should i go from here
oh shoot wrong channel lol
What the heck is he doing down there?
Research
Idk bro
he liked the lava lizards taste
Gotta love the bugs.
I play on PS5, is it possible to make small clips to showcase my bases?
ok, I've seen Ghosts in strange places before but I think this tops xD
how on earth
I didn't even think it was possible for their AI to pathfind down there
How far from the enterence is this place?
They don't pay attention to each other
I saw you typing
My Lava Zone waystation. It's directly across from the entrance to the Lava Castle, tucked under an overhang for cover from the Sea Dragon. It's bare bones, just if I manage to horribly screw up I can retreat there. Of course, then I'd probably be stuck; not sure if it's in Seaglide range of either the Primary Containment Facility or my base at the Cove Tree.
Base is good. But stay away from that warper
It's definitely within seaglide range of the cove tree
And pcf
there's no way to preserve vegetation, is there?
I think bz has a fridge, but nothing in subnautica iirc
that was wrong chat to begin with dang it
Amazing base
how is the leviathan down in there?
thats not normal
I got a little base going
made a little land/sea base by the glacier
IT FITS!
Such an impressive feat of architecture. It has everything you’ll ever need! All in one small package.
- Fabricator
- Storage
- Window for fish watching
- Beautiful Location
- Cold metal floor for sleeping
Ik thank you it took me forever to build
Gotta have a treehouse! When I built this, I didn't know how close it was to an arch entrance lol
the glass dome certainly adds some spice to my bedroom
love the location, the view is gorgeous
maybe i can figure out how to take a video tour of Sushi City (name of my base), as it grows into my initial dream of touching every biome cuz i’m ambitious
I need massive storage room ideas, I'm doing a very bad job of making one
@real trout
But does it have a fabricator?
how did you get the staircase :o
Finished main construction; still have some interior work to do. Not pictured: solar generating platform on a rock spire off to the side.
It's a great idea
From here you can reach everywhere through portals
Thanks! I wanted to site the base on top of the opening, but it's not buildable. It's a fun spot, but you do have to be really careful bringing the Cyclops through the opening.
The base I want to build, though, but can't, is using the "donut hole" of the Floating Island as a natural moonpool. It's just slightly too short to surface the Cyclops in.
if you build a hatch on anything on land, a staircase will spawn with it!
I tried that but I think it was too high up :')
aw damn
Here’s an update on the base
I love how reflective the bases are in BZ.
Fr fr
looks good
i’d use the large room and line it with large lockers. for me i use the signs and put them on the wall above lockers to mark what’s in them. dunno if you can put signs on partition walls but that’d be an option to get more efficiency from the space
Hmm thanks, I was thinking that but I'm trying to make it look neat and easily accessible
Because I have at least 3 lockers of each resource and I got even more from this large trip
I decked out my cyclops with like fifty lockers and went to the lr and lava zone with double drill prawn suit
So now I need a lot of more space
Wait I might just make a separate base for storage
What do you think
Why did you ping me a couple days ago
Idk I forgot the question
Most likely a comment about an atom being bigger than your Subnautica base
But it's okay, I'm a changed kinder man now
Not sure if this clarifies(?) as "awesome"
Tallest Base in Subnautica History
Subnautica
Total Subscribers: 1390
#subnautica #subnauticabelowzero #subnauticawalkthrough
I'd say it looks awesome
isnt this the same guy who covered the entire world in platforms
That's not cool, it's not survival
🤫
My subnautica hardcore base (48 hour save)
i'll try to get some other screenshots of different parts of the base since its split up into many sections.
Main attraction of the base is this reaper cage i built
this building here functions as a sort of cafe/greenhouse
How you gonna get a Reaper in that? /j
lol
My room
mega fish tank (red eyeyes found in time capsule)
tanks for breeding individual species of fish that i wanna introduce into the bulb zone
guest rooms (there are 3 and they are all nearly indentical only difference is the plants)
That should be an achievement or something;
Achievement Name:
"He Doesn't Bite."
How to get:
"Trap a Reaper Leviathan in a cage."
That would be funny lol
It would be hard to actually define what counts as trapped though
this is my current project on the base. Im gonna fill those foundations with growbeds and create an artificial reef to more safely raise prey fish/herbivores
rn they go in the same area as the crabsnakes do and it leads to alot of them getting eaten
Hardcore Edition;
Achievement Name:
"HOLY SMOKES!"
How to get:
"Trap a Reaper Leviathan in a cage on Hardcore mode."
I would actually like to see achievements for atleast beating the game on hardcore lol
rn playing hardcore is sorta just something you can brag about lol
yeah
which is fine but an achievement for beating the game on it would be cool
we can only hope lol
Achievements wouldn't really matter to me (I play on Switch) but it would be nice to know that it exists
yeah
currently most of them are stuff you automatically do playing the game
not actual achievements
and that makes the game very very easy to 100%/platinum depending on what you play it on
I wanna see some ones that you have to go out of your way to get
yeah
stuff like consuming every single fish in the game could be cool
or every plant
or maybe just everything consumable lol
mhmm
That looks awesome, Praetorian!
Really does
OQ would be even cooler if I had access to whatever mods Below Zero has
yeah ive seen alot of good building mods for both games
I def would use mods if I could
mhmm
i don't play with mods because i prefer the vanilla subnautica experience but the few times i have played with them i did really enjoy
more progress on growbeds if anyone has suggestions for stuff to plant let me know
that could work
mhmm
ive got quite a few of them but there are some i still dont have
i think ive got everything from the bulb zone and everything native to the bulb zone trench (which i like to call owl trench because of the hooting sound you can hear near and within it)
I'll keep this in mind
Large rooms are pretty difficult to decorate and such imo
yeah
i like to split large rooms into smaller rooms and treat each room like its own
its also good to have a purpose in mind for the room
Which I usually do
But, eventually, I run out of room ideas
So I just sorta wing-it (or 'fin it' in this case)
i'll look it up
I'm treating it as if it were canon to the Subnautica lore
nice lol
A sort of 'alternate timeline' to Below Zero's end (which I won't spoil to be safe)
sounds interesting!
This is amazing. Very well made.
thank you!
My old subnautica base that I've lost the save for unfortunately. Yes those towers breach the surface of the water. I have a few interior images and I'll upload them when I find em
Found them
These were made using a bug involving bulk head doors (now patched) that would allow you to use the propulsion cannon inside of your base. Unfortunately they fixed it so I can't decorate like this anymore
back to my current base
waiting room
crabsnake breeding tank
its how i get my snek army
almost finished the artificial reef
completed the reef
currently introducing species
my hope is by the time im done spinefish, reginalds, and red eyeyes will become common fish in the bulb zone possibly over taking the original population in numbers
im hoping the dense kelp will provide shelter for fish to hide in whenever one of my many guard crabsnakes get curious
im also working on gently introducing oculi (is that the right way to say that?) into the bulb zone to aid crabsnakes in adjusting
3 new snakes
gasopods are also planned but will be placed further away in possibly another custom reef. The reason for this is because i want to recreate parts of the original concept for the bulb zone. Gasopods where orignally planned for the bulb zone and so i want to make that a thing artificially.
just as some proof to show my effort to introduce species is working. Here are some crabsnakes 330m from my base that travelled here without my input.
hopefully after a while i'll have a completely different bulb zone full of all new fauna
there is also some practicality to this. Ive noticed bonesharks and ampeels have completely abandoned areas overran by crabsnakes
I've always liked messing around with planters and creature eggs, but I've never considered straight up changing a whole biome with them
reef update
its a fun thing to do lol i strongly recommend giving it a shot terraforming is fun! (rip terraformer)
The closest thing I've done to this is placing a bunch of tiger plants around my bases to ward off Bonesharks
I'll have to give this a try
good luck! I recommend separating tanks by creature. make sure not to give them too much prey fish around your base aswell or they might decide to hang around forever and never move out
thermal vent network part 1
part 2
final part
the crabsnakes have forced the bonesharks into the lost river lol
red eyeyes have thrived around my base while spinefish and reginalds have almost entirely moved out
interesting
they also have an obsession with chasing and staring at crabsnakes
i think they forgot to remove some of that placeholder boneshark AI
reef has become popular among the reginalds and spinefish but the red eyeyes prefer open water
nice, this reminds me of the 500 m high multipurpose room tower with a base on top in a save that I also lost (got deleted when I uninstalled and re-installed Steam and for some reason I didn't think to make backups at the time)
oh do they have that now?
yeah
problem i find with multipurpose room towers is that 90% of the rooms end up empty or they all have a large aquarium
yeah lol
they also cause a lot more lag than something like vertical connectors if you have that many of them
yeah
I have a 1 km high tower of connectors from the surface in a current save, haven't done much with it yet but surprisingly it didn't lag that much (at least when my laptop handled the game better lol)
i tried a large room tower recently and its literally 3 times more expensive than the multipurpose rooms for the same height as one
subnautica is not very optimized for giga bases lol
I have bases with 30+ multipurpose rooms that I've managed to all find uses for, but large rooms are my arch nemesis
I love how spacious they are but at the same time I find it difficult to even fill a couple of them fully
i have the opposite problem lol
i easily fill large rooms with cool stuff but struggle with multipurpose rooms
we should move to #subnautica-chat
yeah
where did you build this base?
On a cliff at the bulb zone trench (lost river entrance)
sure
how did you get rid of those electrical things tho?
oh
They attack them and have driven them away from my base
and dont crabsnakes attack you too?
If raised in containment they won't attack you
By picking them up and dropping them outside
Yeah
Be warned though alot of predators will still attack your vehicles
Notably crab squids, ampeels, and bonesharks
Should be a cliff nearby
Still a bit left to build, but it's getting there:
👍 i like how the large rooms look so natural combined with the large platform
idk why it looks like a mini-hotel
I actually got that idea from someone else's image. Put windows along the long walls and it looks really neat.
Office room work in progress
Gonna improve the reef by changing the surrounding corridors into glass
Uhm
I'll probably set up in the mountains next
Where's the 5 cyclops?
ive got an existing power network there
i don't have i have 2
i never mentioned having 5
Wait what?
Go to subnautica chat
my two cylclops
not a base but this is my storage setup on my resource cyclops (the dark blue one)
ive changed my mind on the new base im just gonna expand the power network
8 new thermal plants
now ive got 20
uh oh
i lost 1000 points of power
so i guess i gotta go back and check my thermal reactors
i might need to weld them or something because last time i checked (before 2.0) creatures could damage thermal reactors
this is gonna take a while but the thermal reactor corridor is currently being worked on
it will also function as a mountains biome FOB
ive changed my mind on making it a whole connected corridor. Its going to be a bunch of bases sharing the same power supply spread across the mountains. Once these are set up my expansion into the blood kelp 2, kelp forest, and under isles will be rapidly accelerated
my end goal if i can survive it will be colonizing the entirety of the crater with bases
by the end i shouldnt be able to go 200m without encountering a base of mine
A base made in Subnautica with NEW BASE PEICES. Yes unknown worlds finally added them and this is my first base remake. Also the people in this base really like plants. Specifically lantern trees…

Now THIS is giving me a lot of good ideas for a base
Now this is what you call egg collecting
where do you store your seamoth and prawn in your base? I dont see any moonpool
scroll up its in one of the images
i dont own a prawn because i don't like the prawn
i just have a seamoth
nice
what do you have in all the large rooms?
Fish tanks, one room dedicated to bio reactors and one with water filters. The bottom floor is where my room is with bedding and such
cute little snek factory
i personally prefer to use nuclear reactors as they produce more energy with less effort
They're so much more efficient but I'll always be a b reactor person as I like the composter mechanic in games and they look cool
ye get it
it may not look the best but it's literally everything here
entire upper floor is dedicated to egg collection
Ate man I'm making a massive one but can't find any gaspods eggs, any tips?
I've built a scanner room in each biome max range but still
Found mine in the shallows and in caves
Alright should I build a scanner at my life pod?
Now that I think Abt it, I never built on there
Guys I have pictures of base interiors, dm me if you got cool stuff I can add to the collection
These aren't mine btw
first one isn't a spoiler ignore that
Guys, there's actually ore outcrops in the Void
bz or subnautica?
Subnautica
screenshot?
How do you like take away all the information on your screen
Like 02 and food meter
For talking screen shots
not sure
i think there is a screenshot button that automatically hides the hud for a frame but not sure
My iteration of the Void Base is complete: The Leviathan Research Center (The Dunes crater edge)
Its tough to place where your base is located but mine is here. Its a really nice spot because theres a lot of resources around.
Theres a lot of stalkers though, but its not too annoying if you dont want to use your camera drones
just copied your image so your circle is still there but here is where my bases are
k
Is your one base right underneath the aurora wreck?
there is a small island on that side of the aurora. I built a base on it
its a risky trip but i'll head over there to get a pic. I rarely visit the base so it'll be a good time to check on the solar panels as well
This is the base. It isnt pretty inside or on the outside but it is functional and functions an important hub for my exploration of the crash zone
gonna get rid of this reaper. After he is gone the area around the base will be like 99% reaper free allowing me to get closer to the crash zone mesas and explore
the terrain under the aurora according to a scanner room on the aurora island is interesting
from the looks of it there might have actually been a relatively deep biome where the aurora crashed that was only slightly flattened when it crashed
Ye, I put one in the Jellyshroom cave because of it. Might do something more with that later(like another part of the base).
Also might in some way try marking way to the ||mountains island|| that is prawn accessible (there is one but navigating in prawn can be annoying). Maybe finally some use for that cave navigating tools.
my base (based off of ||degasi base 250m|| but with a lot of add ons)
That’s rlly good but is it in two different pieces?
no it's connected with vertical connectors
and tysm
Np
Link not work just send screenshot
works for me
both of these have fairly expansive base interiors:

sick base
thanks
Inspires me to play more ig
There's not much unique interior sadly :( just something useless to fill my base
You see the 3 large rooms under the cyclops all the way in the back?
I need to fill them
I filled 2 of them but I still got tons of space left for one
my entire hardcore base rn
cyclops have docking capability, or you just park them close to hatch?
Cyclops Dock is a mod, not sure if they have it
I just park it close to a hatch
me who has a driveway for mine:
Incredible
I just make a hole in the foundations and place corridors to largely invelop the cyclops.
You got any cool shots of ur interior? I need some good designs
Don't u have school rn
no? why
Send pics pls
Ooh mine
I rlly like the second one
Wait wait first one
there are 3
What piece is that, it looks super cozy
T corridor
Wonderful
I love the pot design on this
Ty bro I think I got everything left on inteirors
nice
WHAT
its room 3 identical to room 1 except for the plants in it and outside it
Can I see room 3 Interior?
k
Since I'm doing symmetry I need 2 of the t to designs if I want it in my base
They look so good bruh
exterior
Oh wow!
room3
fern palm moment
EXACTLY
i love how normal the fern palm looks lol
I didn't even know that fern, grub basket, and bulbo existed
I learned about fern on day 280
💀
Any tips on getting quartz and titanium?
My location is out of both in a 500 meter range
go to the crash zone and avoid the aurora nose and boosters
you can safely get salvage and quartz from the safe shallows part of the crash zone
I'll find tons there hopefully
I went through 8 lockers of titanium on decoration
And now I have more decoration ideas
Tysm for the room designs those look amazing bro
finally upgraded the nuke room
don't know what to do with the down stairs yet though
From what I read power draining priority is based of which power source is oldest(oldest gets it's power used first and newest gets it's power used last).
But does it keep that priority if one power source temporarily appears to be disconnected (not loaded yet)?
Or just does it matter if it was connected?
(For example build one panel far from base and then one near it, so would the one far from it have priority because of being built first)
add some of those copper wire things forgit whats it called
picture frames
k
U didnt know about bulbo?? These are so good for nutrition
Ive been living off bulbo trees in my cyclops for a while now
man fml i just got scammed for 530 pounds
Reactor Rods.
O ok

Suggestions channel pls
I want decoration fabricator that let's u make all the toys and posters and unique stuff
I want all unique decoration for below zero to be in Subnautica
Yes!!
Definitely
Ominous.
what?
done
@sturdy steeple it's a sad day man
I ran out of titanium
I feel lost
I was basically playing creative with all these resources but now I'm out
time to spend like 30 minutes grinding lol
I'll do a cyclops trip and get all the copper quartz and titanium
I could go to the lr but it's too much of a hassle
I respect your non symmetrical base
for a second there I thought you meant you depleted all the titanium on the map and I was gonna say ain't no way
I'm trying to
Cleared the list river
Completly, not a single resource left in there
Ah yes, another ming plant fan.
You can find titanium in abundance in the crag fields, around the Aurora, dunes, and there's actually quite a few small pieces in the ilz that I don't think most people have found
Just take all the resources necessary to build a scanner room with a bioreactor
And don't skip on the metal salvage
Yeah I made 13 scanner room bases
I haven't gone for tho bcs I can't bring back much titanium, so I have to bring cyclops
mainly lower deck
u can fill that wall
and then u can put some big lockers in front of torpedo bay
Some other locations to mash lockers into
Yeah my first long trip, I filled the entire bottom section but still ran out
So like that amount of lockers is kinda nessecary
from one hoarder to another: thank you.
I don't wanna put lockers everywhere, gotta decorate my cyclosp
Also fires in cyclops destroy items in cyclops which includes lockers which also could potentially destroy hundreds of resources
Very interesting concepts 👀 makes me want to stop being so petty about losing the ability to place anything on the wall planters, and get into base building again
thanks
@sturdy steeple would you mind sending a full pic of your bulb zone base from the outside? I am just curious how the layout looks like
Can't rn but I'll try tomorrow
sure ty
Make a second one
interesting, didn't know you could put them under the ceiling in the last image
then there's me who put them inside the docking bay in my one save xD
why you're actually able to build in there is beyond me, looks super weird when the doors open but it doesn't get in the way of vehicles docking/exiting and you can have a bunch more storage
I hate having lockers that float away from the wall/hull. I only attach them to the bulkheads that are actually vertical and flat... but I don't care about carrying that much with me.
normal cyclops
just dont have fires in your cyclops

@sturdy steeple just got 8 lockers of titanium from the nose of the aurora
Good stuff
wall or standing lockers?
Idk the biggest ones
The one that can't go on walls
Standing if that's what they're callrd
Dude I'm not even kidding, filled my storage cyclops to the the brim with only titanium
All from the aurora area
lotsa metal salvage in the area
Anyone else feel like the large room, more than anything else in the game, creates the feeling of loneliness as you realize you never actually need such a large room for yourself? 😄
No it doesnt
But when you make 3 cyclops and several bedrooms, that's when you start to realize
When you start making a hotel that's when it hits you
When you make an airport for your now 5 cyclops, you realize your gonna die alone
Fun times
Only if Subnautica was multiplayer
||a sea emperor just decided to come for a visit||
what do ya'll think of my canteen i built ?
I'd spoiler that
oh sorry
Neat!!
Totally did not build a cantina and crew quarters while my personal room fits ins single multipurpose box.
Below Zero base opinion?
Features moonpool/truck dock + parking spot near exit hatch.
Base divided into three sections:
- Docks (high flooding risk area). All connections to rest of the base equipped with bulkheads to prevent catastrophic flooding.
- Main building (large room floor 0 and 1) - contains storage on bottom floor, equipment room in the central tower, a small biolab in same tower, cantina/crew quarters/bathroom in large room middle floor.
2a/2b. Reactor/captain quarters. Both separated with bulkheads from the rest, in case of catastrophic flooding the captain room serves as a lifepod. Its the second tower in the background, with solar batteries. - Gardens. Top floor large room hosting plants (planned glass roof once unlocked). Also contains scanner and command rooms. Top floor is separated from rest of the complex by bulkheads (high flooding risk) - no ladders between floors allowed.
View from the other side.
Yes, moonpool has windows, as do the scanner and command rooms.
Captains quarters also have a window, despite safety recommendations and being a 'lifepod'. Sometimes sanity needs supersede dtructural soundness.
Oh, a thing to note - multipurpose room stacks are offset by one I-corridor to prevent them connecting, so I can have a full bulkhead separation for the reactor and captain quarters.
looking good
yeah looks great
I like it too!
It is cool
it = cool
🙂
Will be improved, as I refine my needs and discover building workarounds.
My bathroom solution:
Shower: check
Toilet: check
Sink: Check
Trashcan: check (not in picture)
Shelves making for wall: check
I knew I was forgetting something!
managed to get my whole base in one screenshot
loads of progress on the southern half of the facility
floodlight i installed makes the reaper cage look 10x more awesome
bro is built so different on god
boring compact living rooms for my nonexistent employees wip
its the same upstairs
this room's plants are fully grown now tho
the little pots on the wall like that are such a cute idea
Looks nice!
I like to have two-level alien containment, with windows around the upper level and pots and wall planters around the lower, to give the fish a dark, grassy "cave" to hide in.
nice
May I ask how long it took to catch that?
honestly not that long
its only escaped once
and it took around 20 minutes to recontain
Why such a small cage, poor dude's barely got room to move around : (
very resource expensive im on hardcore and ive got better uses for all that titanium lol
what a coincidence, I'm also in hardcore 😛
cool
is yours in the Dunes tho 👀
no its in the bulb zone mountains corridor
haven't put one in yet
I'd make it even bigger but titanium is getting hard to find and it's already lagging a ton
I mean, I could easily make a bigger one if I didn't have all of this in my hardcore also LOL
heck no 😂
nice
honestly a ps4 would probably be fried by then
must be easy to make a reaper cage in the dunes because of all the metal salvage
didn't think too much about resources when i got mine started
it actually used to be bigger but i shrunk it a little for base integrity because i linked it to my main base
for a while it was a seperate structure
I haven't actually played on that save, or much of the game at all for quite some time because the lag is so bad it just isn't as fun, I plan to get back at it again and finish it off when I get a better computer cause my current laptop isn't the greatest device in the world for doing stuff like this
