Just more targets for me to shoot down, is all
Just more targets for me to shoot down, is all
You can use the https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Quarantine_Enforcement_Platform.
pfft
I would recommend using the [[Quarantine Enforcement Platform]], but Donya hasn't added Wiki-Bot yet.
lol anyone remember that "hoverfish war"
god damn they were annoying
not sure what was going on inside their heads
what.
Is that user the admin of the wiki?
I have genuinely no idea about anything goin on with this.
Okay.
Apparently he tried to bring it up with tueman. and like, i dont even know heads to tails where to start with the process of a change like this
Why so many admin
I dont know, how, the other wikis function or work. And how much they are tied to the english version tbh. does an admin from the english version have to file this to make the changes?
I'll look into this more when im done with my math homework for the day.
The player can make story progress in (Creative) mode, despite the description saying otherwise.
WAIT... For real?!
BZ= upcoming game; SN = original?
Yes
thanks
If the admin of the French wiki is having issues, they need to contact Fandom support themselves. You guys have nothing to do with it.
Unless you happen to be an admin on that wiki and you're somehow hiding that from us.
If they gave any of us administrative perms then I didn't know about it.
i don't know
Thanks for handling the stuff Sly, I was getting a migraine just from trying to read all it.
Did you ever find out what it is for the Dragon?
confused unga bunga
Im just gonna tell him to tell them to contact fandom about it again.
I think I understand that.
That's not correct, the French wiki is not linked with the English wiki
They're separate
But it's still subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/fr, right?
Wait, is he asking for a URL change or a name change?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I think it's a name change.
Yeah, our name space of Subnautica: Below Zero Wiki is their namespace of Wiki subnautica- belowzero.
If they wanted to change their URL, they wouldn't have the same URL as the English wiki (our wiki), which is a problem. Fortunately, I don't think that's what they're trying to do.
I asked for further clarification from him about it.
They still need to contact Fandom support
What if, and hear me out, we change our URL to be formatted, wait for it, with zalgo characters? Genius, am I right?
No.
Please choose an address with maximum 50 characters.
LOL
The name cannot contain special characters (like $ or @) and must be a single lower-case word without spaces.
You don't need to rush the decision, take your time
There are restrictions that Fandom is throwing at us.
Zalgo text aren't special characters, they're just... Built different
I don't think those specialized Unicode characters are supported in any URL
A URL is composed from a limited set of characters belonging to the US-ASCII character set. These characters include digits (0-9), letters(A-Z, a-z), and a few special characters ("-", ".", "_", "~").
ASCII control characters (e.g. backspace, vertical tab, horizontal tab, line feed etc), unsafe characters like space, , <, >, {, } etc, and any character outside the ASCII charset is not allowed to be placed directly within URLs.
--the random website I found via Google https://www.urlencoder.io/learn/.
pls reply to me, can u make a linux server for subnatica w/ nitrox mod?
Wrong place to ask. Try over in the subnautica modded discord.
I'll check next time I'm at the computer.
@sudden dove Sea dragon leash distance is 120 meters.
Well, I assume it's meters. Base unity distance measurement or whatever.
And the leash isn't broken upon taking damage.
Based on the previous convo between you and Ignis yeah, it's meters. Cheers.
Also, seems the sea dragon also hates creatures in the shark category lol.
There's a script for it to also be aggressive to the whale category, but it seems to be disabled.
Oh. Seems the sea dragon will attack the cyclops up to 180 meters away. I think that's further than the reaper or ghost leviathan.
Seems there's also a script to avoid a certain point up to 150 meters away. Presumably the containment facility.
Unlike the reaper and ghost leviathans, it can't be fed. So don't try lol.
Avoid Position (Script)
Priority 10
Position x -50 y -1200 z110
radius 150
Yup. Attack cyclops range is 20 meters more than the reaper leviathan's.
Neat.
Yeah, learned the hard way that it can't be fed lol
Am I the only one that took like so long to get the reinforced Dive suit?
The Blueprints of course, not the Material.
Yep, I’m done with this
I'll take a look once I'm back at my PC
Page protected for one week so they can't edit it, thanks for reaching out to them on their Message Wall
we still havent finished hte page overhaul
waiting on someone who take gifs
I would... but I can’t play at max graphics
yeah, if we dont have anything by the end of the month
i vote that we go ahead with the page overhaul
get the gifs in later.
since we were suppsoed to have this done last october
You need GIFs of what exactly?
why do you ask.
Because more likely than not I can get some
do you happen to have a computer that can run subnautica on maximum graphics, as well as recording software and a method to make gifs in a consistent aspect ratio?
Yes
mkay, good, I'll dig up the list of things we need and a link to the document.
👀
theres not that much left, please read through the text notes inside the document to get a good grasp as well as look at the reference images to have an idea on angle.
are you familiar with the console commands in subnautica?
its mostly down to:
Using freecam
day commands,
disabling your ingame hud,
Pausing time whenever you need too. this will help a lot with setup since most of these gifs are construction based, so unless you have plans to build multiple rocket bases or reloading saves. you might want to get it in the first take.
What we need still:
Neptune_Platform_Construction.gif make it the last 10 seconds of construction when it falls into the water
Neptune_Fuel_Reserve_Door1.gif Exterior door opening gif.
Neptune_Fuel_Reserve_Door2.gif Opening the door from the interior
Neptune_Fuel_Construction.gif Make sure this is a freecam shot, at most 10 seconds long at the least 5.
Neptune_Gantry_Construction.gif Same thing with the platform, this one takes a while so get the last 5-10 seconds of it.
Neptune_Ion_Boosters_Construction.gif The ion boosters are pretty quick, 5-10 seconds, either in freecam or form the ground floor. check [Ion booster anim static reference.jpg] for example
hud should be disabled in all of these, it should be day in all of these unless text document in the drive for instructions says otherwise.
upload the files into the respective folders, as far as gif aspect ratio goes, i dont know the rules on that or if we have anything set in stone. so, try to keep all gifs the same aspect ratio.
I do not know. if you need to make a dupe account for something like this by all means do so, the account i have this folder on is a dupe account.
I'll have someone else check it out
I'll have him screenshot all needed information and send it to me
Give me about an hour, I think my white hat is still at his school
Let me know when the deed is finished or if there are any issues. the instructions are fairly specific on what needs to be done and in what way.
I'm wondering why the comment sections on articles disappeared.
with @flat fog's dive into the script of the game can't the wiki technically add a prey/predator section for the wiki, on what they attack/get attacked by, It's not really Important but It would be nice to have some sort of food chain
I'd have to consult someone regarding what creatures belong in a given category, but sure. The folks over in the subnautica modded discord have been quite helpful.
All you really need is unity, utiny ripper, thunderkit, and ng missing script recovery to unpackage the game and restore scripts so you can view models and scripts. Note that textures aren't able to be recovered. utiny ripper is used to unpackage the game into a unity project, thunderkit is used to extract the scripts from the game executable, and ng missing script recovery is used to restore scripts that went missing during the extraction process. You'd use a second copy of the unpackaged game to find out what scripts go where.
You can also look inside Assembly-CSharp.dll using jetbrains dotpeek. That file has all the relevant scripts for the game and creature behavior.
I prefer viewing things in a unity editor, because relevant information is laid out nicely in my opinion.
BehaviourData.
Ah.
My thoughts exactly
I am still very inexperienced regarding what information is where and how this all works in general. I just wanted to find some things out and dove in without much prior knowledge.
Hello
Found a bunch of references to target types, but can't seem to find the lists they're referring to.
I've been observing creatures but not much that's not obvious
@weary sparrow any luck on the gifs?
for anyone who wants to do some wiki stuff
https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Crag_Field there are so many images on this page that are outdated
I can SMELL the old outcrop models
some of these are staggeringly old
So for any wiki keepers, I have an idea to propose. That to make the main image for a biome or area, the one in the infobox, distinct from the rest of the gallery and looking as best as possible, modify the game files to increase the render distance to take a photo for a biome's main infobox or an area's main infobox only. This way there will not be inconsistencies with the rest of the image galleries. And since main infobox images don't get changed often, also means that it won't be altered likely anytime soon either.
Even though this means modifying the game and showing things in a state that's not achievable without modifications. I think its a fair thing to try.
Since we already do similarly with item, fauna, and flora images. By spawning fauna, flora, or items in the void, changing the fog settings, as well as doing a size reference in some cases to show several profiles of the focus in question. Of course these are usually for profiling said focus and showing measurements. But, for their infoboxes we still run some of these images through editing software to give it transparency before putting it into the page's main infobox. Instead of taking a picture in it's native biome, we make several alterations for a main page photo.
So, does anyone think its too much of an inconvenience, to spruce up a biome's main page photo through a different set of alterations, being increasing the render distance so it'll look more like this:
instead of this
In light of https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Wiki_Rules_and_Blocking_Policy, I recommend comparing https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Log/Block to https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Subnautica_Wiki:Guidelines and https://www.fandom.com/terms-of-use. If there are any blocks that are not justified by either the guidelines or the Terms of Use, then something needs to be changed.
While we can decide to not issue any more of those blocks, we probably want to change the guidelines instead.
For example: if we didn't have a rule about roleplaying and we issued a lot of blocks about roleplaying, we would need to add "no roleplaying" to our guidelines (or we would have to stop blocking people for roleplaying).
Hmm. In response to your big proposal, I put forth a medium-sized proposal.
we already have a rule about no roleplaying in the guidelines, as far as blocking and banning people go, i think its fairly tight in terms of rule set. The only thing, for wild example, that wouldnt work to ban someone with the guidelines, is if a user was upvoting everyones posts to bug everyone by giving them an influx of notifs. theres nothin in the rules that directly condemns it but you can still apply it to harassment if its done with malicious intent to bother others.
How would you prove that someone is mass-upvoting?
Still waiting for the game to download, my document guy won't respond, and I'm having some wifi troubles.
i honestly have no idea, someone else posted in the discussion an idea to how this could be done but its just confusing jumbo to me
and even with, would mass upvoting even count as spam? with how fandom handles notifications, someone breathes funny and you get a notif, either way you're getting a load of notifs through time whether from email or in site notifications
Mass upvoting is a problem that's been brought up internally. There's nothing you can really do about it in a policy or anything
gotcha, thanks
@lusty hearth name files appropriately please
@molten tree do other wikis generally keep their images clean by removing unused ones?
so far we just leave everything that doesnt break rules
Special:UnusedFiles exists for a reason
so, yes
yes :P
lets put it this way.
we havent been cleaning up since the wiki was created
like 8 years ago
is using a bot to just mass delete unused files a good idea
I personally don't like doing that because who knows what gems are in there you'd want to keep
that is also what i was thinking
I can try to do some manual cleaning.
If I may suggest something?
sure
Well, I was thinking,
So is the problem circulating around "There may be good files in there, we can't just overhaul it"?
Can't the bot you suggested using look for low resolution files, delete them, and then get a report of which files nay be outdated?
i dont think that will help the problem much
and you have to know where the low resolution line is
AND we might want some of those low res screenshots, depending on their content
im clearing junk out first
Well then. For any needs, I am SubnauticaPro551 and you may see me removing some images. My criteria for removing images is
- Low resolution, very generic shot.
- Outdated.
- Fake.
- Duplicate
A suggestion for the Console Commands page; Perhaps there should be a shot of what the console looks like?
im not sure non-content moderators can delete images
^
I was suggesting the removal of them from pages
No, we were talking about files uploaded to the wiki that are not used on any page at all
nice, then you'll probably be done by the time the mars colony is established

just go in creative and use a scanner room to check the blood kelp area.
Was there any update on the biome images situation?
very cool
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/824008905520185425/824707321174556744/Lily_Paddler_Fauna_Custom.png Still proud of this tbh. Even though I don't think it's applicable for anything wiki related due to the same reasons as the biome thing if not even moreso
Do you like the pose of the creature, or . . . ?
I honestly don’t think it’s a bad idea to use 3d models and posing.
just feels unsure with how we've generally been handling everything
Plus, when I first saw that image, I thought it was taken in game.
I don’t think unless someone has a really keen eye, would notice something like that was set up in blender
well that's not rendered in blender it's sketchfab. the pose was just made in blender since it doesn't normally do that pose in game
We’ve used sketchfab stuff before?
the modelers have an official sketchfab they upload stuff to
so we use that when possible
Sorry I’m slightly confused on the whole process,
The official modelers posed it in blender and uploaded it. Correct?
Since.. yeah if that’s correct, we’ve done that before. Actually a lot.
First real image used with the ghost leviathan info box was taken from sketchfab
Next iterations of said image had transparency added to the background but it stayed that way for a good while
Isn’t the current image for it also from the sketchfab?
So it wouldnt kill anyone if we used that image for the lily paddler in my opinion
I don't know if the modelers use blender. but they upload the models to sketchfab themselves with their own settings and textures they have and such. not all of the models have sketchfab uploads but if they do we use them.
I don't know if the modelers use blender.
You could always ping someone and get an answer on that question.
ping cory about blender
Worst-case scenario: you get banned for pinging a member of the Subnautica Team about something as trivial as this.
So it wouldnt kill anyone if we [pinged Cory about this]
Nah, it would.
(I know it actually wouldn't, but too bad.)
But the one I made is the ingame model/rig, that I posed in blender, uploaded to my own sketchfab drafts, using textures inspect element-ed from their sketchfab upload, with sketchfab settings remade to the best of my sight based on their original upload
Oh jeez fandom’s site just went down I think
Now how am I supposed to burn my past?
I’ve got 20 photos or more left to obliterate until i can sleep at night normally
Well the deed is done, I deleted a good 50 of content, and burned all ties to the fan fiction that won’t be named
And now you're back to type some more.
Genuinely, again, if you ask me, I think it's fine. Its displaying something in its best possible look, and as long as it's not contorting like some garrys mod animation or just looking awful, I think it's not a bad idea.
If you went into one of the voice channels and streamed yourself deleting unused files, do you think anyone would watch?
no, it would be me screaming and ranting about my past mistakes
When I streamed myself using SLSbot via AutoWikiBrowser, a few people watched.
But the only thing I shared was my screen.
mostly, i wouldnt want people to watch, which is why i deleted the images in the first place
But as far as still using sketchfab goes, I don't think its a terrible idea. plus that pose you made is fairly close to an ingame one I saw in the page gallery.
and then, if it were up to me, heres a short list of the fauna navbox images I think should be changed, whether its using sketchfab models or ingame pictures.
the jellyray one since I think it should line up with the rest of the ray family.
which is using this kind of an angled shot
Personally, I think an isometric render (which is almost what the Ghostray uses) would be nice.
But I lack the skills to set that up.
why does the magma ray face right when its counterpart and almost every other fauna is looking to the left? call it nitpicking but this inconsistency is driving me up the wall and through the roof
and through the roof
At this rate, I hope you still have a roof over your head.
no, its going to rain tomorrow and now the roofer needs to put a tarp over it
Except that it won't be over your head because you've been driven through it.
why is the hoopfish tilting downwards, and the hoverfish.. ehh... weird geometry compared to the others so i dont care which way it faces tbh.
https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Minecraft_Wiki:Standardized_views is how the Minecraft Wiki gets a consistent view for every block and entity in the game. Maybe we can somehow do something similar . . . ?
hoopfish should line up more with the spinefish, which brings me to my other question
how many of these images are from sketchfab? and how many are edited from taken ingame?
Good question.
I wonder that since iirc, theyve deleted some of the sketchfab models at somepoint
and made others private access
either for this game's models or below zeroes.
also honest to god question why do we list these in alphabetical order?
I find it a bit weird when you see one fish and then it's subspecies cousin is half a page down
like personally, I think maybe the floater should come right under the ancient floater, kind of like how the blood crawler is bundled with the cave crawler
How about we start with first getting everything out of a table?
or maybe at the least try something like this for species variants? possibly? Im just throwing some ideas around
as far as tabbers goes iirc, someone said it has issues with mobile versions.
Tabbers in infoboxes are fine if they use <gallery> instead of <tabber>.
But that's the only instance where I recommend tabbers.
yeah, well, im just again, throwing some ideas around since, these would take a significant chunk of time to do re-organization and such.
as far as tabbers goes iirc, someone said it has issues with mobile versions.
https://community.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:FishTank/Short_and_long_pages_on_Fandom#Tabs and https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Wiki_Performance#Shortening_pages can elaborate.
ghost leviathan, maybe the reaper, and definitely the seadragon leviathan I think were taken from sketchfab
Can you check https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/Special:Analytics and tell me about how many of our users are on mobile?
I don't know technical stuff too well, its all a confuse mumbo minus the jumbo to me, but as far as I'm aware, mobile accessibility > aesthetics.
People love their maps.
and then some other ideas, if it were up to me with the whole, render distance biome images thing, these are the images I'd opt to replace with something using a high render distance:
Blood kelp trench,
So as we can see, the mobile view is very important to us.
North blood kelp
yup
Bulb zone for sure
probably the crag field to show emphasis on that "field" part
Crash zone.. well. i dont honestly know if render distance helps with all that fog
grand reef definitely i think could benefit with an improved render distance for biome navboxx images
hmm.. eh.. I think it looks mostly fine? what do you think about this one SLS, could this look much better with a high render distance?
definitely sea treaders path, the current image looks.. kinda meh. is there anything better that can be taken even with the current render distance?
point is, i think a lot of the biome navbox images could really benefit from an overhaul with a higher render distance.
alright, i applied some settings, im making a batch of images for comparison this is using original settings.
turned off depth of field. here we go. this is running modifications for render distance
bulbzone high render
An attempt.
probably still want to get closer to the ground/points of interest here
for the bulb
true, but these are just sample images im taking to demonstrate improvements through increased render distance
and getting an idea of what biomes would be affected really by it
I tried the blood kelp trench and honestly
the fog obscures everything so its pretty pointless
looks better than the previous one tbh
probably stuff like the mushroom forest, dunes, mountain, northern bkz, a lot of the big cave biomes, maybe the islands
okay that looks drop dead gorgeous
these are the dunes
If i turn off water volume you can get a better idea on the distance increase
which, tbh. is this a significant render distance increase? i dont use water volume often so i dont really know about these things on default
huh mushroom forest started loading
is this a significant increase over the normal render distance?
Hmm.. doesn't look like it.
okay, so its enough of a change to make somewhat of a difference.
camera pos -1182, -171, 470
with fog on
cragfield is only a minor improvement
too much fog
but if it werent for the thick fog, the render distance would have really benefited it.
so honestly, now after trying a bit, i still push for the idea of taking photos of some biomes with the improved render distance. as even for foggy biomes, at the minimum it adds small silhouettes of terrain in the distance which i think is better than, no silhouettes of distant terrain and stuff. It doesnt benefit in all biomes, and some places it really works better than others.
its enough of an increase to really bring out some areas better without being super obvious that its a modified render distance
its up to you guys though (other sn wiki staff and wiki keepers)
where’s the wiki keeper tag when you need it
Stuff with the wiki and figuring things out
we can also go even farther with the render increases if we really want to. it might not be the smoothest but it could work
I was using the numbers from the original post about it, and one of the ones he recommends in the comments, as far as temperature goes my CPU most of the time was in the 40-60 range in Celsius. But in a few instances it kicked up much further than that. But as far as each of the values I changed goes, there’s 8 things I changed total, and I’m not quite sure which affects what factor of the game when it comes to rendering
I’m sure someone here would know
the mountain island could probably use a new pic. maybe something like this?
dont we have rules about fov
Depth of field should be off for photos of environments and biome terrain. Depth of field can be used for close up images with a singular direct focus on fauna or flora. In which the focus of the image has it's details preserved, while distractions are blurred.
That's all I can find in the Guidelines.
Id be down for being the acting guinea pig for playing around with settings to make abnormally high render distance images, if at least some of the other wikikeepers are okay with it
sure
right now I'm just trying to figure out how to get prefabs to render from farther away than I've currently been able to
not sure what the best method would be
just so im in the loop are y'all talking about using mods to make the render distance farther for better looking screenshots
could maybe ask the modding server
there's a .json in the SN steam folder you can use to mess with render distance
alright,
This is the post iv been running the settings off of https://steamcommunity.com/app/264710/discussions/0/1693785669845485600/
essentially yes tueman, what I did was go in and change one of the JSON file properties with notepad to get a higher render distance.
!!! WARNING !!! To clarify in hope to save some people some time and effort, ANY modification to the file will result in poor performance (it's the limitation of the engine), there is nothing that can be done to get "good" performance. I've let this thread alive just because, I do prefer, to have some performance issue over the pop'in, and I wan...
so the thing is, he accounts for chunks per slide, but, no idea on much related to the setting right below it "chunksVertically" that comes with each of the four
It honestly doesn't make much of a difference I've found but I keep it on because I kinda like the vibe it gives distant stuff
true,
the game's fog settings pretty much obscure everything.
but it still adds a nice subtle layer of depth to the image when you see silhouettes of the terrain in the background, creatures, etc etc
not enough
depends on the area.
but that's another conversation
yeah. but that's mostly what we're doing this render distance thing for
some places it makes pretty much almost no difference, or so little of a one that its not worth running with, like this place in my opinion.
that and xenonuke got an impeccible photo for the blood kelp trench
but it works sorta nicely in some other places.
the fog helps obscure areas where not enough terrain, flora, etc, are generated still which benefits
Id definitely be down for doing a full overhaul.
if i can remove those FPS, CPU, and GPU thing in the top left corner.
i have no idea where they came from.
I'd argue that's one of the reasons it needs to be foggier
but this isn't relevant to wiki and I'm not gonna get into this again rn
im a mixed bag on it, I feel like places such as the blood kelp could benefit from less fog density at some times, like. that thing being clearer at night so you can see all the bioluminescence would be sick, but muddier during the day would be interesting.
I mean you can still see lot of bioluminescence
if it's night time
if anything I might add more Bloodkelp instead of extending the fog out
anyway
did you increase render distance?
since those ceiling lights are much more dim from a distance.
also that area in general is really hard to get good photos.
even with increased render distance, its a slight improvement best
that is with increased render distance yes.
yeah, its good for the ceiling definitely.
i have a nagging feeling the Lava lakes and the ILZ could really benefit from it
I dont remember how the fog is down there though
fog down there is way too far out
really? is it that bad that it wouldnt make much of a difference?
Can we add this to cut content page if it isn't already in there?
since arent the only updates subnautica is getting now is just bugfixes?
Since im 90% sure that Subnautica isn't getting more content updates for something like the idea of the tree leech being hostile
CC @heady gulch please keep in mind the large warning at the top of Special:Analytics. That data should not be re-shared without permission.
oh sorry. I glossed over that, I'll go read through it right now.
Thank you for letting me know about it
yeah i shouldn't have missed that.. It wont happen again.
No worries, I know you didn't mean any harm by it, just keep it in mind for the future

Even "about how many of our users are on mobile" (e.g., "about 60%") can't be shared without permission?
As I said, not without permission
it's fair to say over half of our readers are on mobile though
"More than half of Fandom's users visit our pages from mobile devices . . ."
That makes sense.
And that makes sense as well.

imma be honest, since no one else is really in protest about it, I think we should go through with biome infobox overhauls
got a list of ones that should be changed? i'll toy around with the render settings see how much better i can get it
and can I please have permission to put the tree leech hostile behavior in the cut content page? since I am severly in doubt the developers are gonna make an update to give them aggressive parasitic behavior

Hey! For reference, this channel is for discussing the day to day running and administration of the wiki, rather than a support channel. For questions about either game, check out their relevant channels!
To answer your question though, the power cells will need to be replaced or taken out and recharged in a power cell charging Dock. Alternatively, docking the seamoth within a moonpool or cyclops will let it recharge directly
oh ok, thanks!!
can i copy that message pls and say it whenever someone asks a bunch of random stuff in the channel?
Sure, need me to repost the first part for you or can you copy it fine?
I'd rather have a @timber sable tag, but that would be unfair unless a lot more tags were created for other parts of the server.
I'd ask people more familiar with that page probably on whether that'd fit there
Also I can think of a few infoboxes. Still trying to figure out a specific instance in the blood kelp I can't seem to override
where the kelp renders out before you stop being able to see
yeah well xenonuke got a good pic for one of the blood kelps
an incredibly good pic so i dont want to replace that one
Oh what's this image?
This one
oh yeah that's a really nice image
I was specifically referring to the northern blood kelp though
@cursive vigil is a scammer/ bot just so everyone knows. They just Pm'd me tryna get my steam acc ahah.
And now you're in the #📚wiki-discussion channel.
hm
The Trouble Team has been activated to investigate server issues being experienced by Fandom users in the past 30-45 minutes.
trouble team sounds like a nickname for team rocket
Its running fine now
Team rocket but it's 4 random wiki keepers.
So i proposed this idea to Xenonuke related to the crashzone page
and its current, naming and info state
and i was thinking, instead of having simple stuff like "main, center," etc etc.
What if we just labeled the areas of the crashzone in conjunction to the Aurora's perspectives in this kind of a format
since there is still a good area which you could label similarly.
Its just an idea
Did you know that there is technically a third island
Are you referring to the stuff next to the Aurora or to something else?
Do we have rules about being in or not being in freecam?
things are different in or out of freecam
generally not using freecam is better I think because movement lods are player tied
but we should make it so you can only use one or the other. along with any other settings presets we want mandatory
hm okay
apparently this trick from steam we've been using only increases like, the maximum distance something can load but not if it will load that far, which is I was still having issues with visible bloodvines unrendering @heady gulch
there is however an easy enough way to actually make this stuff render out more with dnspy or something like that
but I don't know if that's too "modding-y" compared to the trick we were using
I just thing as long as we reach a point where it looks like its a "too good to be true" kind of a thing
any idea what the "chunksVertically" does? @late island
uh I'd assume chunks render out farther horizontally than vertically which is what that stat controls?
I'm probably not the person to ask
Huh then there’s the other thing
In his write up he gave settings for 4 of the chunk stuff
At the bottom of the page, is another set. That has the chunk stuff and vertical chunk stuff set at 1
that might be for something different related to that
again you'd probably be better off asking the modding discord or something
Yeah, but that means I have to join discord servers
How much long is below zero??
@marsh dome stop spamming this.
I know this is unrelated but hold onto this for a minute.
I'll join the modding discord later today and ask about it as well as other things related to hullplates and giveaway items
I know this is unrelated but hold onto this for a minute.
Because I have a bias in favor of Wiki Keepers, I will trust you that this is relevant enough for #📚wiki-discussion .
I won’t let you down
Sounds like a certain https://www.google.com/search?q=rickroll I know.
y'all the al-an page in the below zero wiki is pretty outdated..idk if i'm allowed to say stuff in this channel or nah tho so sorry if i'm not allowed to
Is the page still protected?
Not anymore.
What does that mean?
Someone vandalized the page multiple times so a wiki moderator had to enable protection. Basically, nobody but the wiki mods can edit pages with protection.
And now I've unprotected it.
Which means that you can edit it now (if you want to).
yass
Would you like me to explain how to do that, or are you good?
Yeah please,,ive never done this before but I do know a lot abt subnautica: below zero (thanks hyperfixation)
First: register an account at https://www.fandom.com/register?redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fsubnautica-belowzero.fandom.com.
Then, you can edit the article at https://subnautica-belowzero.fandom.com/wiki/Al-An?action=edit. Make your changes, add an edit summary, and Save Changes.
ohh okay!!
dyall official wiki editors need to do anything with it for it to like be there?
https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Editing can give you more information on how to edit (as can every other help article on Community Central, the wiki I'm linking to in this message).
Once you Save Changes, the edit will go live for everyone to see (no pressure).
ohh okay!
also do i have to cite sources for any stuff that is mentioned in the game/are directly from the game n stuff?
like the relationships bit or quotes or that sort of stuff
Did we disable blogpost creation?
i think blogposts are fine
gotcha, people are asking about locked posts. so I'm just reccomending if they want to propose changes to a locked page, make a blogpost, copy the portion they want changed and just write up the changes in that blogpost.
I've modified the Al-an and the Sam Ayou page a bit,,
can some of you read it to check if it isn't like, unreadable or anything
i'm sorry if i did it wrong or smthng
uh
i'm sorry if it's bad, this is the first time i tried editing fandom wiki pages
Should probably have more detailed information on experimental vs stable at a given time on the wiki
I’m admittedly not the most familiar with the changes in SN 1
how
Yeah, just a bit haha. Save it as a souvenir
hi When did his game fully come out?
May 14 2021
Is there a whole page dedicated to the cat, Potato?
Why would he not? He's the evil mastermind to Below Zero.
I assume you didn't find any such command on the Commands article.
ok thx
If you haven't already, read through [[Console Commands]].
/inline Yes, [[Console Commands]]. They're the commandest.
commandest
According to a few websites, that is actually a word.
Hi, please ignore me while I'm doing some admin work 🤣
But new bot hype 👀
Yep 😉
Does anyone know the damage per second of the gas torpedoes?
It doesn't show in the wiki
Bc I have seen they kill reapers extremely quickly and cheaply but idk what the exact dps is for them

Why do you want the role removed?
Because it's easier than leaving the server and coming back to get rid of it.

Well, one of your [[Beds]], anyways.
I wish it was a bit easier to tell from the gallery of new files page which images are currently being used on a page or not
instead of having to click, click, load, scroll down, and click back for each
So a combination of [[Special:UnusedFiles]] and [[Special:NewFiles]]?
I mean more like, how it used to work before that one wiki update
there would be little text like "used on these pages..." kinda stuff
under the image
Anyway, how many item icons have been uploaded since October 20 2020? Because I need to replace all of those.
people keep uploading new icons to the wiki without making sure they have the right shading when extracted
#📁wiki-changes is working very well.
@grim jungle One of the commands I gave you was incorrect. The correct command (which I want you to send) is !wiki verification 1 usergroup rollback|content-moderator|threadmoderator|administrator|bureaucrat.
It should override what I told you to do earlier (which was !wiki verification 1 usergroup Rollback|Content Moderator|Administrator|Bureaucrat), so you shouldn't need to do anything else beyond sending the message I just asked you to send.
Hmm. I wonder what it'll think if I try to do it.
!wiki verification 1 usergroup rollback|content-moderator|threadmoderator|administrator|bureaucrat
@cinder kestrel, your linked wiki user "1 usergroup rollback|content-moderator|threadmoderator|administrator|bureaucrat" doesn't exist.
The wiki user "1 usergroup rollback|content-moderator|threadmoderator|administrator|bureaucrat" doesn't exist.
By a narrow margin, that was my first guess as to what would happen.
!wiki ?wikibot Patreon features
You can support Wiki-Bot on Patreon to get some advanced features.
The only feature I think would actually be useful here is "Up to 5 recent changes webhooks (instead of 1)" because it would let us show Recent Changes for the Below Zero wiki and the Subnautica wiki--but it's not something we actually need.
!wiki verification 1 usergroup rollback|content-moderator|threadmoderator|administrator|bureaucrat

Done! Sorry, I was making dinner lol
!wiki verify SLScool
@cinder kestrel, you have been successfully verified as wiki user "SLScool".
Yes! I made homemade burgers, homemade buns, a tomato salad, and potato wedges! 😄
Ping me if anything else doesn't seem right. I'm back near my computer now.
That's some good [[Food]].
I think I'll need to re-enable slash commands for the Wiki Keepers role too. Because I currently have it turned off for everyone.
Did you decide to leave the slash commands off, or were you planning to turn them on later? Because I can't use the slash commands for @willow vector , which either means you didn't turn them on (you either decided not to or you forgot to) or you didn't use the link I sent you in February (or you did and I sent you the wrong link in February).
We don't actually need Wiki-Bot's slash command, so it's up to you whether to have them on or not, but as I just quoted, you were considering turning them on for Wiki Keepers.
Enabled for Wiki Keepers! Thanks for checking that. I wasn't sure if it'd override the the Discord settings because it was specifically for the bot.
Try that? 🙂
I can use Dyno's but not Wiki-Bots.
Did you invite the bot with https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=461189216198590464&permissions=939912256&scope=bot (from the messages I sent in January) or https://discord.com/oauth2/authorize?client_id=461189216198590464&permissions=939904064&scope=bot applications.commands (from the message I sent in February)?
I think you can click the second link and it'll add the inline commands (once you press Approve and whatnot).
Yes.
"Thanks. Everything should be good now."
And I take that back--again.
then I'll add the functionality into the busier channels
You didn't disable the bot in the other channels, so it works in the other channels. I assume that's intentional.
If it's not intentional and you only want the bot to work in #📁wiki-changes and #📚wiki-discussion for whatever reason, then you should do something like restricting the bot's access to other channels. Otherwise, please send !wiki settings channel wiki http://subnautica.fandom.com/ in #subnautica-chat , #subnautica-ps , #subnautica-xbox , and #subnautica-switch .
I was going to ask, actually, if there was a way to make entries (though having fast wiki links would be much less work I’m guessing than creating special custom bot links) for commonly asked questions and subsequent summoned info like “where can I find X”
Is this something we can use for that?
Like when people ask “where can I find gel sacks”
!wiki ?subnautica Gel Sack
The Gel Sack is an edible flora species that can also be used to craft Aerogel.
It is usually found attached to the walls of caves. It can be either picked up or harvested for Gel Sack Spores by using a Knife. A Gel Sack gives one Spore per knife strike. Up to three Spores can be collected from a single Gel Sack in this way, with the Sack being destroyed by the third strike. Extracting Spores from a Gel Sack has no effect on its qualities as a raw material or food source if it is picked up. There is a bug using this, as hitting it with a knife twice, put it in the inventory, and hit it again will give you infinite amount of spores.
Either item can be planted in an Exterior Growbed…

I’m part of the Astroneer official discord server, and the admin there programmed a custom bot which has custom uses with exclamation in front of them, and I was thinking since we have a bot, we could do something similar like instead of !gelsack we could have -gelsack which would bring up some sort of wiki like entry like the one I keep ready for copy paste since people ask so much
On it now.
Gel sacks
There are multiple places to find gel sacks but I think they’re pretty easy to find in:
-mushroom forests (either one, there’s one in NW part of map and one in Northern part of map, north of Aurora but before you get to the Bulb Zone), generally pretty safe
-grand reef, specifically around the wreck there which is at roughly 200m or so (it extends down a little deeper), an occasional warper and maybe stalker from nearby kelp forest, it’s next door to crag fields but you shouldn’t run into bonesharks at the wreck, and you’re also safe from the two ghosts that patrol grand reef one on East side one on West side (they don’t come around the wreck itself) check under the anchor pods right next to the wreck for gel sacks
-deep sparse reef, like down around where ||lifepod 19/Keen’s pod|| is. Only hazards are few tiger plants and some bleeders (gross, but not too hazardous; use knife, thermoblade is best). Several gelsacks in the area. It’s below 200m, close to 300m down iirc.
The nice thing about grand reef and deep sparse is you’ll find rubies as well in these areas, which is nice if you’re interested in making some aerogel
With @timber sable , you can make custom tags. Example: you type ?t gelsack and the bots says what-you-just-posted.
I’d need to shorten it but that’s what I just copy paste for people
It’s something I wrote up in like 2-3 minutes
I can think of a lot of frequently asked things it would be nice to summon with a short command to help with chat questions
Stuff that gets asked OVER AND OVER every day
(Because people are mostly too lazy to check wiki lol)
Here's an example of what that bot looks like in action:
Unless it's really laggy, it sends that response immediately and then immediately deletes the original ?t message, so you're just left with whatever the bot said.
@onyx river It's our bot now.

If you ever lose your Wiki Keepers role for whatever reason, do !wiki verify whateveryourusernameis to get it back.
Assuming, of course, that you have some User Right on the Below Zero wiki.
I don’t have any roles on the wiki though so it wouldn’t work
You can ask one of the wiki admins to do something about that. The Rollback role is fairly harmless, so that can be added to you without much fear that you'll abuse it.

I didn't suggest adding Wiki Manager as a possible role.
No no it's fine, I don't need it
I was just adding my verification for completeness's sake
Rollback, Discussions Moderator, Content Moderator, Administrator, and Bureaucrat work.
So you can give yourself one of those if you really want.
nah I don't need it, people tend to misread that as me being local staff
And usually, you aren't.
!wiki verify XenoNuke
@lusty hearth, your Discord tag matches the wiki user "XenoNuke", but you don't meet the requirements for any roles.
You'll need to ask an Admin for Rollback, Discussions Moderator, or Content Moderator before you can verify.

Subnautica takes place inside The Crater of an enormous, dormant, aquatic volcano, approximately two kilometers in diameter. The Crater Edge is the area surrounding this crater. With no resources and extreme danger, the zone serves as a border for the game's map.
Three adult Ghost Leviathans live in the Crater Edge, where they deter players from straying outside of the playable area. When entering the Crater Edge, a single Ghost Leviathan spawns in at first. If the player stays in the Crater Edge for 30 seconds, a second Ghost Leviathan will spawn. Staying in the area for another 30 seconds will spawn a third and final Ghost Leviathan. They will pursue the player until they return to the playable area, upon which all Ghost Leviathans retreat.

Why is/was like half the Robin Ayou page stuck in the old story?
Do my eyes deceive me or was the comment section of the wiki finally disabled?
why, my dearest wiki keepers why did you do that
It is a good change. The comment section was never helpful and most of the time was full of teenagers/kids asking pointless questions or arguing with each other.
It isn’t? Most of the story area isn’t even filled out.
Which should probably be fixed, I’ll get on that tomorrow or smth
I meant the PDA entries on Robin's Alterra career, and i kinda fixed that one (the Sam one I mean)(shoutout to slscool for unprotecting the pages so randoms like me can edit it) but it still referred to Sam as if she was alive and all
I’ll look into it, the robin page in general is pretty outdated

do we have the locations of the spy pengling caves anywhere?
that feels pretty important
I can barely find information on spy pengling zones in general
oh yeah. we should get like a gallery for those
I almost think in it'd be great if we could like, take every image on the wiki off of pages outside of concept art so it's easier to find all of the pages that need new images for v1.0
also we have to get rid of every sketchfab link from after nov 11 2017
all of the models were taken down
All of them? O.o
all of them after nov 11 2017
Is there a way to check for broken links, or do we just have to go around find all of them?
If those broken links exists, someone must have put them there because they wanted those pages to exist.
But that's only for internal links; external links aren't broken based on whether or not their destination exists.
So wait if I'm remembering right filmic is the default look on BZ now yeah? With the rest of the color grading stuff scrapped for the gamma setting?
that also probably doesn't help with needing to replace old images
Yeah. It's the default color grading.

The story takes place within Sector Zero, an arctic zone set at the equator of Planet 4546B. It features a new protagonist, Robin Ayou, rather than Ryley Robinson. It takes place in a different location, two years following Ryley Robinson escaping the planet.

Ok
Was this revert done because the information was false or just because it was implemented poorly?

Beds are a miscellaneous item that can be built using the Habitat Builder. Three base variants exist, the first being named "Basic Double Bed", the second is called "Quilted Double Bed" and the third is the Narrow Bed. The only difference between the Basic Double Bed and the Quilted Double Bed is that the quilted bed has a linen spread over its foot-end. The Narrow Bed is a smaller, cheaper variant with only one pillow. Variants of the Single Bed and one variant of the Double Bed that belonged to specific personnel can be found in Sector Zero's abandoned bases.

I get the feeling having @willow vector available in this channel is causing more harm than good
It's super helpful for #📁wiki-changes but maybe it should be blocked from accessing any other channel
at the risk of getting buried under all of the whatever this is that's taken over this chatroom in place of wiki change discussion
we should find a place for this on the wiki

Seabases are installations created by the player through the use of the Habitat Builder.
A Seabase provides an area where the Player can return for oxygen, and serves as an alternative to the Drop Pod as a base of operations. Within a seabase, the player can construct additional storage space, grow food, access appliances not available in the Drop Pod, and add aesthetic options. Thus Seabases provide safe havens away from the Shallow Twisty Bridges the player starts in.
In all Game Modes except Creative Mode, entering a Seabase secures the player's inventory, so if the player dies, they will return to the last Seabase' they visited and keep all the items in their inve…
Question: why are you doing that?

I rest my case :|
I was going to guess that there was a conspiracy going on where users agreed to spam the bot, but now I'm thinking it's just because people go to this channel, see people using @willow vector , and decide to use it themselves.
Exactly
Now I just need to ping a moderator and ask them to delete every message I've marked with :wastebasket: over the past two days.
That way, random users won't really "see people using @willow vector."
Hopefully, that'll solve most of the problem, if not all of it.

@proper needle
I'm not going to go back trying to remove all these things. The bot should just be blocked in here if this is what happens 😅
Or we should have a commands channel for it or something.
I have a question for the developers, does anyone know how I can talk to them?
you could plop it in the appropriate chat and hope they see it
Thanks
Is it worth looking at limiting wiki bot to wiki keepers and above?
<@&85343211593166848> Two requests. Please clean up the above messages from half an hour ago, and please block @willow vector from accessing this channel (only this channel, since it's required for #📁wiki-changes).
Done. I'll let her know for when she wakes up.
I'm vaguely awake. I'll do that when I get downstairs and turn my computer on 😊
Okay! There were some weird permission things going on, but Wiki-Bot has been removed from in here.
Do you only want Wiki-Bot in #📁wiki-changes and disabled for the rest of the server? I can also try and adjust/customise it so you're all getting the most out of the bot to help you.
<@&192900629797142528> ^
Disabling it everywhere else would help with flooding the chat, but it would be detrimental to the people who are trying to use it for legitimate purposes. However I haven’t really seen it being used much outside of this chat. I don’t have a problem with it being used in the other chats but that’s just me.
(For those confused: slash commands, like the one I just did, don't follow the same rules as everyone else. "I'm not like most [permission followers], I'm special.")
I can see it being convenient everywhere else
I'm talking with staff about the implications of such a merge before I talk to the admins or the community.
Any update on that?
@cinder kestrel Not yet, we've been swamped with work on UCX
There's a lot of missing pages in another languages how do we manage to create or update them ?
It would be nice for me to have a real french baguette below zero wiki
We don’t have much to do with the wiki’s in other languages
Same as English: they're wikis, so if you can help then feel free to help
Man the Glacial Basin page is a bit unwieldy. Especially considering I'd like to add even more to it
not really sure what another solution would be outside of a big TOC or something though
or at least, a solution that wouldn't involve more css stuff which isn't really a thing on mobile (mobile css when)
I’m pretty sure that goes in #subnautica-chat

hi
@cursive vigil I'm curious: where did you learn that command?
Did you scroll up and see other people use it and fail to use it, or . . . ?
ok???...
It was a question.
Yes, tell us user

Where did you learn that command
I'm actually curious.
okkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I've seen the same command on another games wiki server, but probably not related
I guess the world is going to be stuck in the same position for the time being.
i'm currently working on the french ver of the wiki
these guys never even made a page for Titanium

he def got it from scrolling up and seeing other people use it
I wish I could say the user learned the commands from reading the pinned message--because that would mean random people actually read those.
I'm more impressed someone scrolled up
whats a scroll
Titanium is the basic item of the gameee
Lol
Wasn’t there a reefback animation storyboard concept like the shuttle bug has? Or was that something else. I feel like there was another besides the shuttlebug though but it isn’t on the wiki
how do Recipe and Recipe2 models work ?
Are you wondering how to add them to an article or how they actually function?
How they actually function
I wonder what image on the item page does it takes to illustrate
Bc i have issues creating new recipes, I have to create the related pages but it doesn't work
this is what i have made but i cannot make it appear in the recipe
ok i almost figured out how it works with icons etc
I've never realised that the french wiki was so uncomplete, I'll try to ameliorate it, but I don't know if I should just traduce myself the english one or if I should take every information of the english and add some (like, there is not the number of shadows leviathans in the crystal cave, if I know it, should I add it ?)
I have a question for the Wiki Keepers, since they’re likely to know.
Normally for sake of enjoying relaxing gameplay without warpers being hostile I avoid advancing the disease stage by avoiding places I know that trigger that. Meaning I don’t go onboard Aurora, QEP/mountain island, bulb zone or obviously into the LR.
Last night when I was playing, exploring the crash zone (getting some salvage but mostly just unlocking the power transmitter since I haven’t been to mushroom forest yet) I accidentally went too far forward near the Aurora and it triggered the “ecological disaster” message, which normally I wouldn’t get unless I was intentionally going to board the Aurora to “do the stuff there”😉 Anyway, I thought, oops but wasn’t sure if that meant anything since I didn’t go onboard.
Today I was in sea treaders path, and warpers were slicing me and teleporting me. Seemed pretty aggressive for just having been near the Aurora😳 Is that supposed to happen? Is the entire front a trigger for advancing disease stage? Is there a place on the wiki that lists triggers for disease stage? I’ve seen people post it before but I couldn’t find it on the wiki
The Kharaa Bacterium article probably mentions the various stages and their triggers, @balmy mural .
I take that back: the Warper article does.
I checked the article but I didn’t see a list of locations
The kharaa article
Ok thanks I’ll check that one

in the cut content of subnautica below zero, why isn't there the warper?
i mean it's in the game files, you can summon him with the command: spawn warper. it dosen't have texture tho
Cut content is stuff that was in the game at one point, I don’t believe warpers ever were
i kinda wish a subnautica team member saw this so it can confirm one of us
not only it exist but it have some mechanics included, he can warp, warp other things, deal damage ect
I don't think this really counts as "cut content"
Below Zero uses the base game so a lot of base game leftovers will be there
how can we change the color of the seamoth?
ok
Hey, just a thought, but should the Spotlight be featured on the Below Zero Cut Content Page?
It was in and scannable at one point near the Snowfox Base (Now Phi Robotics Center) entrance during the experimental process of EA3.
if you want to help me contributing to the french wiki it will be nice
i started to create some missing pages but there's literally 400 pages missing
i say go for it since it is technically cut content
English subtitles for clip: File:CyclopsWelcomePun.ogg | Subnautica Wiki | Fandom
this isn't useful in any way is it
I think it might be, but I'll have to do some Wikipedia searching.
@agile spindle Go to https://subnautica.fandom.com/wiki/File:CyclopsWelcomePun.ogg, click on the CC box and turn on subtitles,
press play, and see what happens.
And since we always pair our audio files with descriptions in the form of a table, I don't think it's necessary.
Here's an example of the audio with the text normally.
Here's an example of a good use of subtitles.
seems the magnetite can not be found in the deep lilypad area
also I believe charging of ion battery/cell is technically faster as they charge at x percent per unit of time
charging them drains more energy due to this
basically 0-100% takes the same time on regular battery and ion battery
I found multiple there
down by the anemone yellow flowers?
under the omega lab?
I went down there to get the body for Al-An and didn't see any
found lots of nickel though
It is Down there
did you check with a new game?
You just need to find a way deeper
I can confirm it’s there in the most recent update
I do remember there was magnetite there back in a previous game, but hardly any nickel
this time I saw lots of nickel
are they in cracks like other places?
guess I'll have to get a scanner down there to figure this out... already spent over an hour looking around down there
Correct
They put the flora list back!
There’s definitely magnetite check the walls of the big chunk of earth lifted up the lily pads
yeah I didn't think about the walls on the way down
found quite a few on those walls
damn things are so hard to spot without scanner or highlight enabled
The Below Zero Vehicles page needs updating. I'd do it, but it's protected.
fixed
Thanks.
Hm yes
I'll try to do the biomes but I'm not familliar with fandom
Also someone already did the lilypads islands
@cursive vigil Please stop attempting to spam bot commands.
sorry
yes
there's 13 maps here of varying clarity and I feel like we need to clean this up at some point
Here's my recommendation. I'm not sure about the four at the bottom (below the orange line), but I'm sure we should either remove all four of them or keep all four of them.
The four I've crossed out are too similar and slightly inferior to other images already in the gallery.
I don't like how the one directly underneath the crossed-out one on the right has the Rifleman 399 logo, but the map also contains useful information about fragment locations, so I think it's okay to keep it.
Actually, I'm not sure about whether to keep the middle-right image or the the lower-right one. It depends on how accurate the fragment/databox data is (something that can be checked by looking at wikis) and how useful the image actually is compared to looking at the item and biome articles on the wiki (something that can be decided through some thinking).
This is the right link for the second image.
@cinder kestrel can you stop using wiki bot to chat
its confusing and im not really sure why you're doing that
To make it easier to link.
if theres a glitch section on the wiki I can tell you a speed prawn one
the rifleman one is confusing. might get rid of that one. the second image there is also really cluttered and gets some things wrong
also we need a source for this
sounds like a reference to unused attack animations
yeah, but we should have a link to those instead of just a "yeah these exist"
or some extra clarification/verification
oh wait nvm
@shut relic This is for discussing things about the wiki, not this. Move it to #subnautica-chat or somewhere else please. Also don't just call things racist, that's a bit odd.
Why is there people that upload thing with no sense (this appears when you search the mountains biome
mmmmm mountain biome
hmmmmm yes mountain biome is made of what that is

Does anyone know where this is based on?
I was referring to the last line yeah, sorry should have clarified that a bit more.
Yeah he did, ill remove that
Is it even possible that one biome has more chance than the other, or how does that work?
I've never really looked too deep into it.
a little help
Slots are generated in function of the covered surface. If you take the crash zone for instance, you'll have more slots there. So if you compare with a biome that has less slots, you'll have the resource in the large area more than the tiny one. But there are other variables.
The probability from the entity distribution, and the density of each slot.
I aggregated all those, and I made a map in function of the tech you're looking for.
