1 messages ¡ Page 11 of 1
he has one, he's mentioned in-game iirc
because there are additional things that have happened to Ryley since SN1
link for it is set upo on SN2 lol on Alterras page
i did that earlier
page just inst created yet
Yeah I was intending to create a page for him like
A month ago
But I never got around to it
he gets searched a lot
robin is also mentioned ;p
oh yea that might be sam actually
theres a couple characters we can cross link maybe if there likie no info aside from a name once but well focuse on that later when the wikis running good
On the SN2 architect and Kharaa page for example we can link to Al-Anâs BZ wiki page
it should support 2 destination pages actually, we just need logos
on which one
SN2
SN2 doesnt have one
Axum are a new species
Architects are mentioned 1 time for their language
I feel we are misunderstanding each other here
that would be a "see also" kinda situation
yea could do them separately like that, tho i think the js might need to be changed since it's using interwiki links and there isn't bz:, just sn1:
If someone isn mentioned 1 time without any real info added we can cross link like with Sam but ddepends on how much lore the new game give
Kharaa then!
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Kharaa_Bacterium
but they need to be mentioned to be linked
you can override the page it links to manually
actually we might be able to make a jank mostly working bz interwiki that does $1 (Below Zero) idk if interwikis work like that
@true mason Real nice map there
What was your process for making it? For future use and iteration purposes
anyways the day we split SN1 and BZ to rid of the mess is the day i go swim into a reaper ...just thinking of me trying to sort through faction pages to remove BZ infro from SN1
yea idk if i've ever seen anything after the $1 in interwiki
truly innovating in the space
To create the map or gather data ?
both I think
it'd probably be good to try to do them separate like that too, so when they are split, then just changing the interwiki target would update all of them
Extracted the data directly from the game files â biome zones, WorldPartition actor positions, EA boundary. Then generated the map as an SVG via a Python script that maps UE5 coordinates (in cm) to the canvas, with biome regions as an overlay and Leviathan icons. The EA boundary comes from an in-game trace using a Lua mod that logged my position every 100ms while I ran along the edge.
the Alterra page on teh SN1 wiki allready has only SN1 info for employees and equipment, the rest i have saved up for when we split to add
that one allready borders for me rn lol with how much non SN2 info it has but hm
I see I see...
I'll need to see if I can harness these methods for the future
(and to rename stuff there because a lot of the biome names are off, to no fault of your own of course, messing with internal names can be complicated)
a userpage on the wiki describing processes like that would be really nice so other people can iterate on it
I also run a web server version to get an interactive map and track special elements to document on the wiki, with my live position. The workflow goes:
SN2 â Mods â Python server â live map
How do you go about such a thing otherwise though? Because otherwise itâs like we have exclusive info about Kharaa that is split between SN, BZ SN2 and even the Natural Selection 2 wiki
Game given info only + the external linking at the top
Avoids spoilers for the other games
Frankly that just sounds awful if someone just wants to get the complete picture for Kharaa
well figure smth out, we should wait with it anyways until we have the external linking template on SN2
just pitching: we could update wikis only with information available at the time of last release? so SN1 pages only get SN1 lore, BZ gets SN + BZ, and SN2 gets all known lore?
Yeah that is what we have currently broadly
well great
again that would be a sif we split them all together again
it would be such a mess of info
Idk seems the opposite to me
yes i just tried to make a little link here without a template but i think it's better to just wait to add this
if you read the wiki like someone playing in chronological order, they will be able to avoid spoilers from future games
maybe that's wishful thinking but
I donât really want to make the SN2 wiki trying to avoid spoilers for SN1
i think it's gonna end up like that 80 or 90% of the time anyway
yea thatd be super lame to work around
this is a link
still would say the external linking at the top would be best
i mean it would still be listed in order just not cluttered ontoo the same page
oh sick
im currently editing that page btw
oh
how big is your edit? i'll wait until you're done
...is visual editor interwiki-link-aware? seems like it probably just adds it as an external link
no clue, i almost never use it
i guess if you know the interwiki prefix you can do it as an internal, but it doesn't autocorrect external links to interwiki prefixes
is there a way to just. Not have visual editor.
we need it for casual editors
in your own account prefereces you can disable the buttons for visual editor
yeah Iâve done that
from experi
ok how about we work together and link the older games info at the top of sections with a link saying "for SN1 see llink" or smth- it would be inlcuded in the page and wouldnt be in the middle of the emplpyee list
I'm a bit behind, do you have the ability to make a PNG map of the underlying environment? Like this kinda thing
The fact that we have a map now should help a lot with that though
lets talk about it once we split the other 2 gamnes or smth lol not inbetween with 2 game son 1 wiki rn
I would be happy to get some interactive map stuff up on the wiki if we have an image
I think I know how to spend my evening
anyways if you do have suggestions for faction pages just send em to me and ill look over em
they are my babies i have soooo much faction info in google sheets saved up
if anyone needs infoo to edit in
awesome
there might be a function in game for that if you're willing to try and mod it into useability
Where'd this map come from? The IGN site?
some game si did that one have over 10 k lines
noticed we moved the PDA Page to Player? still think we should have a page for the PDA item , specialy since NS2 has lore on our worlds 21st century PDAs as its backstory
could also go on a specific History page if we want that
we have someone doing an external timeline page
and ill do game specific btimelines maybe some times
i wanna know more about how edits are copied/transferred from the fandom wiki. is it an automatic process? is there a name i can look up?
most stuff is allready moved in the split
edits stopped being copied over at public wiki launch
its more like us working on removing false info that got moved as well
wait when was the launch?
the 11th
OH
id not moved anything over that you dont trust as they now have all 3 game sin the same wiki
everything before, including all edit history, page deletions, files, etc. are all copied over - anything done on fandom after the 11th won't be
i am so stupid. i checked the main page's edit history to check the official wiki's age and assumed it was 12 years old
that's why this all was so confusing
it basically is, the official wiki is all of the content from fandom moved to a new domain
and all the editors are here now
if you're checking edit history, look for cook's "bot rebase" change - that's the timestamp for when it was moved
ok yeah thank you
i really hope there is something cool to this one, imma go to one of the collector leviathans with camouflage and see if I can trigger it by using this
i added the known sections of the Cicada
and found out how the colonists would land
the ship wasnt gonna land itself instead it sends down Lander Modules
that image goes hard
true that
camouflage biomod lowkey crazy the fauna cant detect you even if they touch you
only problem with that is most of the time when they touch you they make you move too..
my game crashed and my save is just gone, does anyone know how to fix?
btw how are large ore deposits called in sn2 officially?
you should try asking in #subnautica-2-chat , I don't think the wiki has any guide on this (but it could!)
try discord search, I know some people have had the same issue but don't know if theres a resolution
this was one of our staff (not in this chat) that is very familiar with decompiling UE stuff lmao
btw please feel free to ping me if you get anywhere with this, i might miss it otherwise
this guy bro
he does not realize the collector leviathan has the ability to do 40 damage with one hit too..
welcome center is a litte weird
its on the planet placed like a lander module but was connected to Bay 3 according to the terminal which was a ship compartment
oh and the lifepod we use in game is Lifepod 73 (as its launched from Lifepod Bay 73)
or in full Rosette V Digital Lifepod 73
Wait can you really find the collector on outer bounds what?
we havent really nailed down all the biomes yet
as far as im aware there's one over the trench and one over the metal farms
That's what I thought too
this wiki supports uploading .mp4 files right..?
you can't
they only spawn in the spare plains and karakorum metal farms
So the page is edited incorrectly
maybe, maybe not
The collector page lists outer bounds for the spawn biome
I can fix that soon enough
someone likely just lead it out of bounds through aggression and assumed it spawns there
this is a general question but i havent gotten an answer in #subnautica-2-chat
Where do i find lead?
leadzone is a good point to start as there are some lead ores that arent large deposits too
I think it should? If they are < 20 mb
sn2:lead
i have no idea where that is
im currently sorta progression locked bc i assume i need more adaptations but i need the transmitter to break the things
so
I know how bad that place is for getting answers but this isn't the page for questions, and also no spoiler marks are required
However, in the same breath, same difference if I say it or nah
There's a ton in the leadzone, under the cicada "moonpool" wreck or whatever it was
đ its limited to roles I guess
What's the syntax?
Is it case sensitive?
welp
is it? Or is it bc of casing
sn2:Heat Tolerance
yeah the casing situation is sort of unfortunate
its only wiki keeper for some reason
welp
sn2:lead
yeaaa
LISTEN that was a test đ đ
The heat tolerance ones had different casing, so I copied the lead one exactly to make sure
believe me i didnt wanna ask here but i asked thrice there and no answer so like
Plus i was under the assumption the wiki wouldnt have anything much considering yk
game came out 2 days ago
leadzone in question
silver is just the N... something jelly plateus
necrolei i think
ah gotcha
yea - we made a ton of lowercase redirects on vsw specifically so wiki-bot links work... unfortunate it doesn't find the right uppercase page on its own like gloop bot does
it also means that people end up making duplicated pages more often
Yeah that was me, a long while before release
When this was all we had to go on
I swear I just looked at it yesterday while adding the karakorum farms and it just said sparse plains
Wait no that was the lifeform page
this is a bit of mess since it just lists all pages regardless of if they'd actually need the lowercase version created but it's a decent dpl that can be copied if needed https://vampire.survivors.wiki/w/User:Californ1a/Maintenance/Redirects
oh nice, yeah that would probably work
does anyone know enough about blackboxes to make even just a basic page? Noticing that pop up in search digest and afaik we dont have a page for them
thats what i was lookin at doing next
itll be a little incomplete but i can get the page up with some coordinates
These might be acceleration, I'm checking with monor
I made a new save today with that exact purpose lmao
went around to collect most of the PDA entries on the missing colonists but I'm still missing a few
Literally why don't I
@sage surge did you start the timer as you begun moving, or at a predesignated point?
All start at the same time , tadpole reaches destination at 32 seconds and hauler at 34
Oh well that's useful
Well, you still shared it, appreciate it
I somehow did not think to check youtube or like do anything like this
I wish I could contribute but I unfortunately don't own the game as I am a playstation gamer
yeah if you can get something up, https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Special:SearchDigest has a few things that are clearly trying to find blackbox
I may still buy it on steam just so I have it when I get a PC
Which I am saving for
making the page rn
I've been wanting to start a new singleplayer
I'd be happy to track little things like blackbox names and coordinates
Just tell me what to look out for
Actually kinda tempted to write down everything but man I would forget the second to last thing I do constantly
i think the main thing would be updating pages with more info about general locations/info, rather than specific coords
Y'all should ad the speed numbers to the tadpole entries while y'all are at it
different page!
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Gold for example only has one spot. We also dont have a picture of the node (if it's something you have to break down)
"hot area"
i think i may have seen some spawns in the axum region
not too sure though
thereâs gold there as well, some in the lava cavern below the alien ruins and one more spot with large nodes close to the metal farm
SN2 protagonists needing wakemakers to even not even reach Ryleyâs base swimming speed, pathetic
the real reason for Ryleyâs survival was that heâs a genetic freak
oh nice, do you want to throw those locations on the page too? Even just a general list like that is helpful, but probably good to call out if the graveyard has significantly more than the others
he doesn't need genetic adaptions, the genetic adaptions need him
Iâd like to do that, yeah, but I currently donât have the ability to get screenshots for general location and nodes since Iâm away, so it would take a couple hours until I can properly do that
What about calling it thermal zone
it already has a name
it's called "Graveyard"
The hot zone?
yeah
...why is it called a graveyard
ngl not no clue why that's the name
thats the name that was used in promotional art
the "Diag Map" command calls it "Live Spires"
did we ever get an entire, original map
I saw that one screenshot of the shallows area or whatever the whole region is
Probably because of the dead coral crabs
isn't this from map genie tho? I thougth we couldn't use that
Why
I mean for personal purposes it's ofc entirely fine
but for the wiki
copyright or something?
we can't put it on the wiki cause copyright
it might be uncopyrightable idk, but better safe than sorry
Where is this from
screenshot i took using commands
can you zoom out more on that map view?
sadly not
although i will take a look through the files to find the image this command pulls from
I think its rendered
We should be using these names they are much better and probably official
It's like how the bulb zone is called kooshzone internally
How are crafting recipes gonna be formatted? On the SN1 wiki, it goes
Usage in Crafting (heading)
<machine its made in> (sh1)
Template:Recipe
But on some pages I've seen the name of the item written before the Template:Recipe on SN2 wiki
Case in point
funny enough i am literally working on something now related to recipes
oh, so was i lol https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Module:Sandbox/User:Californ1a
I'm trying to convert the image only version into a text version with images (imagine the bubbles to the left of the item name)
ive just been playing around w raw html as of like 10 minutes ago so nothing serious. Youve clearly done a lot more here
i'm just using the current img-only one as a base, but yea doing it in a module should just let us change the formatting to a table easily enough later either way
Basically, should I leave the item names preceding the recipe be, or leave it out for parity with SN1 wiki?
i think it's mostly done as the img one because it's shown like that ingame?
i would just leave the name for now. It's probably helpful for people bc the images are not clear visually unless you know what the thing you want looks like
yeah, ive seen a number of people ask for it to be text as well on reddit
it's kinda hard to use if you dont know what everything looks like
the first time i saw them i thought it was like, the entire crafting tree
the text for the recipe is currently in the infobox, but that is kinda messy having both
yeah, but the recipes using a given item will not appear in the infobox. Which is a bit of a different template than recipe but same family of stuff
having it in 2 places is really bad
Also, how do we categorise drops? Or what do we even call the different resoruce nodes? There's the single ones, the medium sized ones, and the ones that need a sonic resonator
Do drops go in Obtaining, or in the infobox, or somewhere else?
currently it's using the same template, but i was planning on splitting that off to a different template, query from bucket instead of a manual list
i think youll almost always want something outside the infobox. It looks like the infobox param is usually very short and doesnt give enough for readers to know where it actually comes from
not sure it would be of much help as the other half is unfinished anyway
sort of hard to tell but based on https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Fibrous_Pulp
should the EVA suit or Unknown blackboxes be included?
I know they are impossible to miss, but for consistency's sake?
coordinates anyway are
EVA suit -342526, 447519, -58742
Unknown -339319, 446644, -58243
What do we call the seperate resource nodes? The singular ones, the medium ones that drop 2-3, and the big ones that need a resonator?
Just nodes? Small medium and large?
I think small, medium and large will do
I'll take responsibility and, hell, I can manually go change them later, if nothing else
do we know anything about bloom nodes? Ive seen this kind of question come up a lot #subnautica-2-chat message
and our page doesnt have any info about locations. Are there only a few of them?
bloom has a nice thorough explanation of the mechanics https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Bloom
we dont have locations yet
okay, but really what theyre looking for then is the bloom canker locations?
no theyre looking for bloom nodes and angel combs mostly
since it sounds like you have to clear those out, and finding the bloom node is just to figure out where the cankers are?
cankers are always close to the node
gotcha
For the 3rd and 4th adaptations, the adapatation pages have the locations of the bloom nodes
keeping a list of angel combs and their corresponding bloom nodes with location/depth/coordinates on the Bloom page would be really helpful i think
you can throw lucifer rotsacs
personally, I am delighted by this
is it more "trivia" or where?
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Medical_Gel_Sac
is this "gel sack" or "gel sac"? Noticing some inconsistent naming on the wiki that's causing issues in recipes
medical gel sac
in game
I noticed that too and checked it
one second I'll go find one
also Idk if anyone confirmed it, asked, or doubted it but the lifepod spawns in the same place every time
I so want to say "The player is able to throw the Lucifer Rotsac like a snowball. However, it is important to remember that it is a live creature, and doing so is rather mean."
but I won't
should the sn2 wiki link to the sn1 wiki on the main page, just like the sn1 wiki links to the sn2 one
just another little consistency thing and ever so slight convenience
The Recipe template just broke I think lol
yea i'm messing with stuff, gimme a sec
it should still display correctly though - if you see an error somewhere, lmk - i don't see anything on
@agile spindle theres 2 blackboxes in the games jntro
both unknown people
one drowned, one died from Barotrauma when his EVA Suit was set up for 1 bar of pressure and the surrounding waters hit him with 60
thanks for the heads up, will add them after i go through all the ones i know of
oh and the Barotrauma one os rn the only Colonist with a Corpse
as his EVA Suit hangs out of the EVA Suit Prep area of Sleep Bay 3 in the kntro
still connected to the air system
i do wonder where on the map the spawn area is
its in the big hole
the... hole?
what hole lol
the humongous sinkhole hole
"Deep Start" in this image
behind the welcome center
lol theres smth down there
i went down but found nothing and couldnt see so i moved on
tell me about everything down there
anuthing important?
anyone want to start converting some item pages to use Infobox Item? I have a list here https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/User:Andmcadams#Items_missing_Infobox_Item
most of them just seem to have a thumbnail image on the right instead of an infobox
I'll start
I'll go from alphabetical bottom up, so if someone else starts they can start from A
gonna sleep
did a quick edit on a not logged in device cuz i dont wanna start my pc rn
SOPHIE: In pursuit of Nahema
and tadpole strike upgrade
-214527, 444029, -19494
Idk if this was listed, but I just found it by accident, looking of ra nother tihng
@finite rock you can mess with sn2:Module:Recipe now if you want to convert it into a table/add text names, i'm done for now - get_recipes() splits them by machine with a section header for each machine like it was on most pages, but i didn't add the text name for the result since some of them are pretty long (sn2:Titanium)
im probably not going to have time today but if you want to take a crack at a design i think its a win. I think just something tabular with images and text for the recipes would be a good start
basically what i was going for but with time to craft and cleaned up substantially
Iâm thinking this page mightâve gotten griefed https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Biomes
possible
reverted + banned
i'm considering porting over the dependencylist and documentation modules... but from experience doing that on vsw, it takes a while to convert all the existing docs
good news I don't think SN2 wiki has any docs đ
yea that's probably true
There is another https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Lifeforms
Aquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MYBALLSAquatic #MY...
seemingly the template adds the "base modules" part automatically for everything
and I don't think stuff like the work light or world tree relic are base modules
let me see what that is, one sec
world tree relic needs to be deleted actually
what about "radio"?
that one too
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Work_Light?diff=prev&oldid=3565
that's because you're using infobox base. I think you want Infobox Item
I am??
I swear I just copied the one from your user page
but that one is definitely the item one
the hell did I do here
although, does the item template work for most of these
there is the crab feces, first aid kit, work light (which is crafted with the habitat builder anyway), and coral shavings
I think everything else is a base module
That list is anything with Category:Items that is not using Infobox Item
so if there's stuff in there that should not have Category:Items, removing that will remove them from the list
something like a spotlight definitely isn't an item
should I just go back and remove that one then?
and use the base template for base modules?
(I feel like this should be obvious but idk)
yeah, youd just want to remove the from the page if it isnt an item
i think this is the case, but I haven't looked at any base related stuff
infobox item is meant for inventory items afaik
Okay got it
last question, what about the work light, specifically
it's a weird gray area kinda
made with the habitat builder but not exactly an item
oh well then it's not an item if item means inventory
do we have a category for carryables?
That means a lot of the pages on the Items missing Infobox Item section are there for no reason
Posters, furniture, jars, lamps, so on
yeah, but I got them I think
What mod did you use to enable this? I'll be eternally grateful if you can give the details on this
OR base modules actually, if I want to replace the item one with a base one
this feels to me like someone not realizing how wikis work. I wouldn't ban them just for this one, could turn into a valuable editor
carryables are considered base modules, theyre in the habitat builder
not exactly related, but I took outer bounds of the collector page
Yeah I haven't seen them there at all
I've only seen two: the one above the Tar Cascades and the one above the Metal Farms
yeah then we just want to remove from those pages. In theory we can remove it from any item page since Infobox Item adds the category now
should they be included in "constructed with habitat builder"
the ability to just put "Uses item list" on a page is amazing đ
also crafting times no longer get stuck behind other recipes đĽš
i haven't done one that works for the machine pages themselves yet, so those are still manual, but that could be added as well, though they might be a bit long and wouldn't really be able to sort them by section like sn2:Processor
unless the section name was added as a parm to the recipes themselves - that could work
also idk if this is even an issue or not, but shouldn't the strong acid page also show up like how the mild does ?
Getting somewhere
I am so confused by several things here, but as far as I am concerned, I'm here to write, not ask
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Bulb_Floor_Lamp?veaction=edit is this really a thing?
nope, deleted it. there's still some leftover pages from a data dump
I added the template and removed the item category from a majority
there were some I was extremely unsure about, so I just left them be
but those pages really do need revisiting at some point in a number of ways
got rid of em and a couple others
Nice. Yeah this was a good way to find those pages. Are there still any youre unsure about that we can figure out here?
not in that way
the pages are just really short, and a ton missing recipes
also I feel like they could be categorized better, such as with an "axum" or "seabases"/"constructed with a habitat builder"
just little stuff like that
but for now, they have the infobox
or, well, I have no idea why the roof cylinder refuses to leave this page
and I had no idea what to do with the "electronics" and "freesia flower" pages
OH and also a ton of the pages still CALL the things "items" even though they specifically aren't
(ie. "Freesia Flower is an item in Subnautica 2.")
i believe you can harvest Freesia Flower, it does have an item
at least it does in creative
no
planting
freesia flower, acid raion, etc. are plantables
you build them with the habitat builder onto the growbed
but for example, the recipe for the shootroot is a lucifer rotsac, and for the freesia flower it's 3 fiber pulp
you unlock the recipe by scanning a growbed on the observatory island. that's the only place I know has growbeds.
that's why they have a blueprint, but aren't exactly items, all of them.
how much do we know about coordinates
they seem really weird
unreal engine scales things up really high
yeah 1m is 100 "coordinate units"
and the coordinate plane orientation is different than unity's
oh is that why the Z axis is listed last
but re: plantables, recipes, habitat builder, etc.
I added a trivia note about John Masefield in https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Proteavirus
I'm further backing it up with Seth having said #subnautica-2-chat message
these speeds include acceleration
the top speeds listed on the wiki are correct
amazing!
Hey can I write detailed Biomod thingos
like
more specifics for what a Biomod does
Still a lot to improve tho
of course!
Ok cool, how do I put it on a new line?
how do I put this below the game description
they all need pages created for them, you could create a page if theyre missing one and write the information there
So brand new ones got it
as for how to do new lines
or I mean
there might be some other way, but that works
use Infobox Item for now, we might have to make a custom one for biomods
we do
Should it be like
Radius
Cooldown
Type
like lets use Threat sense for example
Radius - 50m
Cooldown - N/A
Type - Passive
Dash on the other hand
mephit and awnworm dont have databank images so thats probably why we dont have an image for it
someone would have to take a picture of them and upload it
Radius can be interpreted as dash distance
so
Radius - 20m
Cooldown - 5s
Type - Active
what the hell is going on here đ
gem created the noon gorgon page so that ones maybe from marketing stuff
Last time i saw that it was behavior. But to be honest I dont understand the usecase for that table
If im looking for a specific creature, im on that page. If Im looking for all creatures in a biome, we could have a much smaller version of that table on the biome page
i think subnautica players like to have a long list of all the creatures they can look at, plus it helps if they dont know the name of the creature theyre looking for
i'll throw a simple one together for now
Yeah i can believe a table of all of them is useful (with aggressive/not), but is listing out all the biomes theyre in useful? It kinda just leads to info overload imo
Like on my last playthrough i basically never used that column
im not sure about that one
table would look pretty empty without biomes in it though
OH BTW
Haul chassis
you dont need to mount it
for O2
legit just need to go close to this
you can use sn2:Template:Infobox Biomod - params are description, radius, cooldown, and type
#đwiki-changes message
I'm not saying to keep the theory that was removed (below), but I feel like it's not all that far fetched
It is theorised that due to the "world tree" the Axum civilization had at some point gone from an advanced race to a primal one.
Axum at some point may have made contact with the architects, proof being a stone from rossete which can be found near an axum tower. The tailings mentioned in PDA entries may be the descendants of the Axum, now far more tribal and less intelligent.
huh, that's a thing #memes-and-media message
What
well nothing REAALLLYY
just like, the game uses lorem ipsum and the jetocaris as default things
at least for biomods, apparently
I think that's neat
Anyone know how to get rid of the blue flickering near the collector leviathan? The open ocean has a bright blue glow that hurts the eyes and ovstructs view of anything
I don't think I have the technical skills or understanding for this. Other people seem to be able to do it much better than I can. I'm trying one last approach using an orthographic camera to capture the in-game 2D render. If that doesn't work, I'll leave it to the pros.
alright! thanks for taking a look
will there be something in the wiki for like the axum language/glyphs
Hi, I noticed sn2:Habitat_Builder points to sn2:Time_Of_Day_Display rather than sn2:Time_of_Day_Display. Do I create a redirect or just fix it on the page? Sorry if it's an obvious question, I'm new to this.
The Rosetta Stone is a titanium alloy monolith located near the Observatory Museum, containing the same message written in two alien scripts: Architect Linear and Axum Radial A. Scanning it unlocks the ability to decode all Axum logograms.
The Axum Language (officially: Axum Radial A) is the writing system used by the Axum species on Proteus. It is logographic â each circular, radial glyph represents a single word or concept. 85 unique logograms have been identified.
The language is decoded by scanning the Rosetta Stone on the Observatory Island, which contains the same message ...
doesnt quite fit
i saved your image i think it's reverted
ohh thank you đ
ohhhh
That's much better already, but we can do even better. How do you go about it?
I think it makes more sense having this way its north
My map isn't oriented
depends on how it's named in-game - if the "of" is capital in-game, then sn2:Time of Day Display page should be moved, but otherwise if the lowercase "of" is correct, then you can just fix the link on sn2:Habitat Builder
It's lowercase in-game. I'll go ahead and fix it, thank you
just found out about the new wiki and i'm absolutely overjoyed
the thought of sub2 being catalogued on fandom made me subnauseous, to put it mildly
Using the map export from @vernal cypress, I was able to reverse the SVG and align it to create an even more accurate map
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Biomes
Is there any significance for this difference?
looks like the first one was probably just placeholder before the materials page was made and the second one is properly linking the materials page
aight i added the final names wreck we know off guys
we have:
Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage)
Cicada Wreck (Empty Hold)
Cicada Wreck (Canteen)
Cicada Wreck (EVA Prep)
Cicada Wreck (Therapy Room)
Cicada Wreck (Stairway to Heaven)
Sleep Bay 3 (in the Intro)
and the Lifepod Holds nearby to Sleep Bay 3
fun fact for the ones named Cicada Wreck, half are ship Compartments and half are part of the Lander Modules that were actually meant to deatch from the ship but where ripped apart for some reason
Sleep Bay 3 is called a cpmpartment in game rn but theres evidence to suggest it might get corrected to being a Lander Module instead
well see when it happens
ill take a look at the Sleep bay in game again in a bit
Do you have the version without the overlay?
Looks sick though! Good job yall
Perfect tysm
hi guys can i ask you how many M is deepest point now in subnautica 2 thanks and what u think how much deeper can we go thanks have good day
Thats an awesome render
750 in the starting spawn, but you can go down to over 3,000 by breaking the game
thanks and do u think we can expect in future same deep point like 3000M plus
A believer might say, âIf God wills it,â but I would say, âIf the devs will it.â
amazing thanks !! đ
i hope we get much deeper then we though think if we get 3000M plus this gonna be crazy horry experience
đ
"maybe"
holy moly
as soon as we get the Foundations for building ill try and rebuild the colonist bases to better visualize them
and to see if parts of them are impossible
ill actually allready try that just without the Foundations
question, does this count for all the twitch drops?
Small question, I added the Item uses template to the Medical Gel Sac page along with an image and some more description, but the [Collapse] box for the template is displayed quite a bit lower than where it should be next to the Fabricator header
Helpful for longer pages with multiple sections I guess
A few pages, like for example the page on titanium are quite huge without them
Item uses template?
my fundamental problem with collapse buttons is that by the time you wish you clicked the collapse button you are already scrolled past it
Sometimes longer pages can feel overwhelming
yeah but just having the collapse button doesn't make the page shorter unless someone makes the decision to click it
and don't do collapsed by default thats definitely worse
Can someone explain to me what the Angel combs have to do with the three Like why are they connected And give you the DNA buffs
They Collect gene data, which your suit synthesizes into your genome or something like that
They are âThe Perfect Gene Donorsâ
the angel comb and its nodes are the same root design as the tree and are prob part of its root system
i hope we get an option soon to disable day night cycles in creative
and the angel comb and stuff beeing its root system would explain why specificly those ones and the tree are infected
oh and i wish the single player at leats had photomodes would be so good for getting images lol
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Stagged_Mephit_(HiHat)
If anyone had the picture, I couldn't get a hold of it in the files (or does it not exist?)...
just noticed that the Tadpole chassis can be used as an emergency boost
if you detach it
It does not exist
The databank doesn't have an image for the Stagged Mephit, Awnworm, or Noon Gorgon (I am not personally sure the last one even exists)
The Noon Gorgon has a databank entry
Guys do you think its possible that this item from SN1 https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/Alien_Carving from proteus? I try to find some connections
The Alien Carving is a relic composed of an unknown natural fiber from an unknown planet and is hundreds of thousands of years old. The shape greatly resembles the yin-yang symbol of Earth and it is found in the Primary Containment Facility. It is thought that this may have been due to the Precursor Race themselves having influenced ancient Chin...
Added the databank entry to the page. The image used for the databank entry is the default image, which is the cicada logo. Same as for the HiHat. Should I just put that placeholder in?
https://getindie.wiki/ check out Indie Wiki Buddy, it'll tell you if you accidentally go to any fandom wiki where an independent counterpart exists and also works on google!
As far as I remember, it's just a placeholder; the devs haven't finished it yet
Yeah checks out... There are still some small formatting errors in the databank entries as well.
some are even marked as coming soon
I think it's a placeholder, but according to the source, it's supposed to look like this
since we also have the textures (do we?), we could theoretically make our own community render lol
oh god, display:none thankfully works, it just needs to be placed at the very top of the source code for some reason
what are you trying to display none?
They appear in game
upon scan, is the databank entry the cicada logo or do they have a specific image?
Havenât seen
Iâm unable to run the game
I have seen text of their entry but I didnât see the image, or lack thereof
Also very interesting entry lol
yea, i was doubting my copy and pasting skills when adding that one
Worm worm worm worm worm
Mephit. Stagged mephit.
007 theme starts playing
can we put this on the wiki and make it seem like it's a dead serious data bank entry
in the db entry file, the image listed is that one, and because of its name (DefaultImage), I just assumed it was a work in progress
already done.
Does anyone by chance know where Ganzo's Blackbox is located?
I'm trying to fill out the missing entries for https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Blackboxes
I know it's somewhere in the Tailing Village but I can't remember where exactly, I've been swimming around for the past 20 minutes and can't find anything đ
if i had to guess it's either around the houses or inside them
In sn2, I think not being able to kill the creatures in the game takes a lot of the game's essence and freedom. You can't do nothing against creatures and just play defensively. And, when talking about smaller creatures that attack, you can't do nothing about it. If the players doesn't want to attack, it is their choice. Don't make that a rule for everyone.
It is my honest opinion, and I hope the devs make something about it. Maybe some extra mode (Like havig creative, survival (non attackable creatures), survival (attackable creatures).
I wrote my opinion here because I dont know other ways to express it in order for the devs to see it
This channel is for the wiki, the devs are more likely to read #subnautica-2-chat
That's where I've been looking, but I just can't find it again
Thanks mate đ
Do we know how many bio bed upgrades there are?
yall where can i find the tailing rug?
I know where it is, 1 sec lemme go get coords
Do you talk abt biomods or bio bed upgrades like inventory extension ?
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Biomods
Yeah bio beds as in inventory and hotbar expansions.
I haven't looked into it yet, but I can check it out. You'll get an answer later, though it might take a little while
Yeah ik, game is new so...
We've already done quite a bit of work, but once again, we have to do the mapping ourselves using the game files, so it's not always easy
I'm pretty sure there is only 1 hotbar expansion and all of the biobeds for inventory expansion give the same amount of inventory space
Tailing rug coordinates in bottom right.
so if we get the starter inventory space and the inventory space amount we got on creative mode
- the number of how much inventory slots are added per bed upgrade
we can get the exact number of beds
without digging through files
1st one is E/W, second one N/S, and last one vertical if im not wrong right?
there is at least 2 horbar ones, i have 7 slots rn
right
ive seen people with 8 tho
Survival or Creative ?
just go on creative I'm like 99% sure all the biobed expansions are there available at start by default
survival
might just cruise around with that one biomod on, see what i can find
what if i told you i was pretty much next to it đ
lol, stuff is very easy to miss
yeah having to avoid alien fishes and having a big ocean
i have like 35 hours on the game and i only just found the data card that gives you the decorative roof antennas
Its in the Graveyard caves I believe
These are all the colonist bunkers I have found.
i only have 15 hours and barely moved from main sites, i should explore more (except where the collector leviathan is, i have trauma with him.)
honsestly I dont think the collectors are too bad, might grab your tadpole once then spank it, but thats easiely reparied
Has anyone managed to find a way into the hatch inside the graveyard caves?
yeah the thing is when i first encounter it i had default tadpole and no repair tool yet and when running away i accidentalle stepped out of the zone, calling the other leviathan
where specifically is that?

Just outside the tadpole pens I think, I'll grab a screenshot and coords in a moment
alright thanks
Also, might be useful to anyone taking screenshots https://www.curseforge.com/subnautica-2/ue4ss-mods/toggleable-hud
suprised that isnt in the game already
Doesn't hide the mask overlay and hands unfortunately, https://www.curseforge.com/subnautica-2/blueprints/photomode is a little better but it keeps the heat and compass overlays
still, hiding the UI is big and the mask isnt a big deal. thanks for the heads up on this
Using jt
Works fine
Theeeeeeee
What's it callled
Ghost and freecam mod doesn't work
This one just outside the tadpole pens, coords are -277577 435653 -13542
Another hatch juts around the side as well at -276971 440584 -13345
ill go check that out
dont think it is anything tbh
may have just been another part of the tadpole pens that got destroyed
Might be an indev base with a biobed
hey guys do you know where to find roof cyndler and roof large pannel ? thank you
roof cylinder?
https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Roof_Cylinder we don't have info on obtaining it
oh
and for the large pannel ?
if you find out please report back! or you can click edit on the top of the page I linked and write it there
tbh i just wanna make a really cool base, so i want to get all the base parts and decorations first
anyone know where the rest of these parts are?
wrong place to ask...
I'm not sure if they're elsewhere as well, but the second work light I found at a dive elevator to the left of the Therapy room Wreckage above the Power Plant control room
around that general area are some boxes with the time of day displays as well
the portable oxygen generator should be at the giant clam
I am, yeah
cool
i wanna contribute but im honestly trying t get everything unlocked and make a cool base
only contributed one thing so far
which was the location of the strike armor
that's useful, I'm currently working on getting locations and images for some of the Databoxes with upgrade modules
perhaps you have some to contribute there as well if you have them unlocked
Roof Cylinder is a databox in the Graveyard
I just found it
these data boxes. do you mean the boxes with the data chips in?
yup
for example this one for the depth module by Ruby's Tadpole
Not sure if this is intentional, but potential easter egg. There's a heart shaped cluster of plants just next to the wreck in the Graveyard
yeah, is there a generalised page for databoxes on the wiki yet, when i checked earlier there wasnt
not yet, that's what I'm trying to work on
okay cool
do you have the coordinates for it?
okay, was it a databox?
Yeah, you can hear it pinging
okay ill have a look
How do you get the growbeds?
there is just 2 that u can scan at the research facility
one on the roof
one on the floor to the side
does anyone have good images of the ||Cerathecan||, bc I have found not a lot of those and adding them to its entry may make it feel more explained
plus, I think the photo of it in the codex is kinda bad when it comes to explaining what it is
where do i find the conduit crystals???
they spawn around these things
how deep is this? also can you tell me how they look ?
about 300-400m and they look like this
thanks
past the leviathans??
Right under the power plant
they have a lightning effect
Conduit Crystal is a raw material used in crafting.
Conduit Crystal nodes can be found in the region directly below the Karakorum Power Plant. They are located on the cliffs overlooking the Angel Comb below.
Rarely a crystal node will be struck by lightning, This can be used to identify them easier.
like sometimes theyll be hit by lightning
and occasionally they will send out a spark that arcs to the ground that spawns the crystals
i think near angel comb
PEBBLE
pebble.
Okay so I WASNT tweaking good to know
What are these things called?
Collapsed Power Nodes?
idk, to me they seem kinda like broken tesla coils
this work?
Yeah but until someone extracts the model name, I'll leave it be
they can't be scanned, so not one directly available
don't know how the game files call them
Just noticed the crystals are used exclusively for tool upgrades as well
Aren't the crystal node spawns fixed (to an exact coordinate)?
Or do they actually (semi-) randomly spawn in the area?
they are fixed yes, but all are around the tesla coils
well they're meant to integrate axum technology into alterra tools
so kinda makes sense
actually, should we put some kind of warning on the Troilite page that it currently doesn't respawn?
I've been seeing quite a few people complaining that they had to start a new save due to being unable to repair the powerplant because they used all of it before creating a metal farm
trolite does though doesnt it?
it only the bacterial culture that doesnt?
pretty sure it doesn't, or at least I haven't seen it do that
just a couple nodes by the metal farm
we should put a note on for that then
for both i mean
but trolite u can use in metal farms
make sure to put that in there
bacterial culture cant tho
yeah, the culture doesn't respawn and already has a note on it
dermal garden gives 15 food and water secretion gives 5 water btw, idk the timeframes
but that by itself wouldn't cause a softlock since it can't be used on anything but the metal farm
the water secretion packet grows over time, ive seen it up to +15
has anyone suggested that they add a search bar to the data bank?
it's worth testing, both the Algae Block and the water packet need pages still
ill keep algae farm on and see if it changes or just gives a new one
Water secretion gives +5 water per time, upto 30
so does that get passively better the longer you have it on?
Uh as in the biomod?
yeah
If so, no the water secretion packet itself increases with time
I think it just creates a new packet with 5 water or adds 5 to an existing packet upto 30 every 5 minutes or so
I dont know if the exact time is 5 minutes it might be like 2:30
idk, because by base it was 5 water every 2.5 minutes
15 minutes for a full packet sounds more accuratethan 30 to me
yeah so it keeps adding into the same puch
so takes 15 minutes total to get a full pouch of 30 water
yeah algae block grows too
it starts at 15 i think, that was the first i got
How far into the game are you?
Conduit crystals are fairly lategame
found the roof cylinder and roof panel!!!
the coords for them
should propably put that on the wiki asap
so is the lava zone called the graveyard?
Hi everyone. just wondering if anyone experiencing the same issue. Apparently my signals sign only show up to Blackbox-Wander. I have been waiting for further instruction but not nothing happen.
Hey, gameplay questions are best in #subnautica-2-chat
thank youu â¤ď¸
Is the lava zone called the graveyard?
yes
Okay, locations of the Roof Cylinder and Roof Panel are now on the wiki
how do we go into the files to get images?
it's more complicated than a discord image could relay im afraid
what are you looking for specifically?
an unopened databox
like an icon?
yeah ig
im not too sure, id need to see what image you want specifically to find it
something like this, but the one from sub 2 specifically
where do i find the adaptation thing here?
what point of the game are you at???
alien wreckege
yeah i just at the bottom of the pit
ahhh, this is not an icon im pretty sure it's a render. someone took a close up picture and cropped out the background
even just a in game picture of one would be fine
sure i can grab one rq
ty
thanks
i need help with something
the 2 base decoration from twitch rewards
i have claimed them
but dont have access to the in game
weird, i got 5 food from mine
never mind had to claim them in the setting of the game aswell
what exactly causes this and how do I fix it? XD
I can render missing icons as png if needed
i dont think there's a need for an icon, it's not an item
wouldnt say no to a transparent render tho đ
I made a site to search through all the "Databank" entries. Maybe helpful for the wiki community:
https://br3zzly.github.io/subnautica2-lore-search/
Will also add all the "Logs" later.
Searchable databank entries extracted from Subnautica 2 (Early Access).
This is supposed to allow me to obtain the 4th mutation, but it's not working. For your information, I've done everything I'm supposed to before. All I have left to do is shoot two small infected plants like this one with my cannon. And the game won't activate, which means I can't continue progressing in the story. I also want to mention that I'm definitely playing in survival mode on Xbox, so I've never used any cheats.
Hey, gameplay questions go in #subnautica-2-chat đ
@agile spindle i can't send a picture on this chat
Can we talk private@agile spindle
well they'll probably get the idea. this page might be able to help you: https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn2/Bloom_Core
Tanks
@agile spindle I've already followed all the steps you sent me, and this plant doesn't work for players in creative mode, but I'm in survival mode đĽđ
If there is no paragraph like text above the TOC
Thanks for all the work everyone has been doing
Iâve been unable to contribute actual gameplay stuff myself still just been trying my best to make sure things exist there
And doing a mediocre job of trying to direct others on what needs to be a done
Lots has been happening in the past couple days though
Wiki is looking a lot better
is he fr spam pinging him
thank you! i know i havent contributed a lot myself yet but its been fun, just want the useful info to be out there for anyone looking for it
speaking of which.. i still cant find another work light fragment
will take care of this after i catalog all the bloom locations but someone can handle it before then if they like: the page on Bloom Core is actually incorrect - what I thought were "Angel Combs" are actually the Bloom Core (where the adaptation is taken from). I'm not sure exactly what the Angel Comb is
so the images on the bloom core page will probably get moved to Bloom Canker
yeah i think the bloom core is the purple thing inside the angel comb
is the bloom core just the central part of the angel comb?
looking at any part of the "Angel Comb" says "Bloom Core" as a tooltip
They are listed as the same species in the databank
and yeah the images on the bloom core page rn are actually bloom kankers
Different entries but theyâre both given the same binomial name
do we know where exactly the Angel Comb entry is unlocked?
Is there a wiki âarticleâ about the building style of the different races?
there isn't, but it could probably go under an Architecture section on the Axum page
bloom core is this
Ye but that can help as in lore wise and in the sense of modders that want to keep it to original as possible
does anyone know where the work light fragments are?
water retention biomod doubles all water gain

you can get mad that its "off topic" or you can look at it as a place for the wiki to improve. We are in the business of getting people the information they are looking for
okay so the opened angel comb in the shallows scans as an angel comb, but the closed ones later on scan as bloom core
I think our interpretation of it is correct
anyone?
did you check the wiki? sn2:work light
nothing there
when you find it let us know we can put it on the wiki!
you can always put it on yourself by clicking edit
work light has a few in the very top left near those purple things
i just finished the scan in game
im going to try to spend today editing blueprint pages that dont have locations
like work light or wall rack
That the bloom core is an advanced form of the angel comb?
Fully taken over by infection
thats also possible ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
Whatâs the interpretation you think itâs correct?
i had to do some looking on the cliff edge
down in a cave
Bloom Core and Angel Comb share the same species name
one of them is outside a colonist habitat i believe
the one in that pic is on the cliff edge
whats that map ur using?
The Bloom Core databank specifically mentions its own core so im leaning towards Bloom Core = Infected Angel Comb
but the confusing part is that the Angel Comb is the thing releasing the virus
yeah that was what I was saying
so does the Angel Comb infect itself??
can you guys remind me what + and - are for per user
Well the Proteavirus situation is interesting
Everything has evolved to live with it
But it is still a virus that is opportunistic
number of characters changed in the edit
And it eventually seems to completely take over
gotcha thx
what does this refer to?
The Titan Rockbore entry says it has receptors that encourage viral infection
the titan rockbore is their food
all angel combs and bloom cores are on a part of the rockbore, eating it to create the virus
it might be the downloads that play a dialogue?
Proteavirus is a double edged sword
On one side the horizontal gene transfer it facilitates allows for rapid evolution and adaptation
But it runs the risk of being completely taken over
it was one of the colonists who got masefield who blew up the original settlement i think?
havent memorized most of their names yet
Nahema
yea her
Do we have a Masefield page
it redirects to proteavirus
masefield = proteavirus
I feel like the game specifically says this is not the case unless the Bloom is not proteavirus and is something else and uhhh I forgot
i put in this last sentence but it doesnt seem like it fits tbh, can be altered or removed if you guys have suggestions
since the bloom is acting on the tree
and prob not vice versa
ill remove it for now
Need to reread some stuff about Masefield and Proteavirus to get a full picture
i am unsure
Is there anywhere on the wiki yet with all the databank entries listed?
Did we include the fact that there's like
So much metal in proteus' water
Actually can someone do the math on how much
Because they've said no one has survived for longer than three months
It is mentioned on the Proteus page
we havent put too many databank entries on the wiki yet unfortunately
Like is it possible to calculate the number? In like parts per million
I think once the 1.1 update comes out it will be a lot easier with the brand new user interface
Because the current One sucks
Also of all things the sandspears PDA entry is omitted
if anyone has the time, it might be nice to add to the Proteus page the distance from Earth
or the star system that it's in
i dont think theyre hard to copy over its just a matter of someone doing it ;p
I think once the organized better it's be a lot easier
I'll probably get to it
I was already planning to go through and write down the databank entries I have for my own purposes today probably if that is of interest
Btw
Isnât there a version of this somewhere that is a different colour?
yes but its only visual and its blue
I swear in some footage pre release we saw green or blue Pents
Ok
Can we get blue Pents on the page
Same applies to
Is there a mention of that, while whoever is at it
and eventually a usage page for what it can be made into
It has variants?
annoyed still that fandom will always be the first result on google
Yes, a blue one, under the anemone towers
Man... I'm s-
if things go correctly, fandom will eventually fall down the search results
just keep updating the wiki so more and more go to our wiki
The sn1 wiki is the second result already
But the sn2 wiki is nowhere to be seen
my pc is a potato so i cant but im pretty sure if u go from lifepod to wu wu box u run into some? or maybe it was another path i dont remember and im not on rn sorryđ
I do not have the ability to play the game so Iâm unable
the same will apply for Fandom's SN2 Wiki as well
I donât think we have to worry about the fandom wiki.
it won't always be first. Weird Gloop has a proven track record for beating fandom
yeah, I doubt we will have to worry about it
whats the name of something that isn't in sn1 but is in sn2? Like an item
I think so, yeah
tho we have very little info on them
ill make a one sentence page
From what I can gather Crypters are simply a faction of Axum
Axum seem to have multiple âfactionsâ mentioned
nice. For SN2 I doubt fandom will even ever show up first. Fandom isn't actually great at SEO, they just are incumbent in a lot of results

There are the Crypters, the Vepherds, the Ardhiacs, the Magi, and the Tailing
as far as I can tell these are just different Axum groups
from my experience with SL Wiki, any new items tend to take over fandom on search results
granted, it helps I make the page like a month or two before the update
Are the Korakorum one of those or are they separate
Also, the reddit post is high up, and I assume that ought to drive some traffic to us instead of fandom
yeah, that is also nice
Karakorum is just the name of the big Axum power plant
Isnât that a location
Karakorum is the name of a city afaik?
Hm. Maybe
Hey guys, I'm new to this whole "editing/adding to a wiki" thing and looking for best practice info here. In the data bank, the portable storage locker is listed as being able to mount to any "Hardpoint". Since a "hardpoint" is more of a concept or category that the game uses to refer to attachment points, is it okay to create a page that lists all of the types of hardpoints/what they could be found on, or should the respective pages for those items just be edited to include the word hardpoint for SEO?
oh that makes more sense
i assumed the tailing were descendants of the axum that went feral
The Ardhiacs were mentioned to have built a telescope at Karakorum to spy on the world tree in Xanadu
and thats why they clawed and crawled on the colonists or someth
is this mechanic reflected in game? are there actually hardpoints you can attach it to?
The Ardhiacs are also referred to as âfire usersâ so I assume they were an industrial faction
