Each chassis might as well be it's own seperate vehicle. They change how you use your Tapdole, how it feels, how it moves. Adding in a chassis isn't as simple as just throwing together a model and slapping it to the back of the Tadpole then calling it a day. There's a lot more to it.

So technically speaking SN2 is actually launching with 3 vehicles. The Base Tadpole, The Scout Ray, and The HAUL.

Subanutica is actually in my opinion the ideal depiction of an early access game.

You pay a very cheep fee to get into a very barebones game. Then at zero additional cost you get to watch as that game grows and changes overtime, you get the chance contribute to its development yourself, and by the end you'll have experienced what it's like to part of a journey that no other game can bring you on.

I don't think so. Generally people play it, updates come out and content etc. Play again. We're talking gamers. Some gamers can pick up a game after 10 play throughs. If the game is that enjoyable, people will keep revisiting. I've done that for every early access game I own. Either way though - the game sells. I can name some games right now that people are still playing after full release. 1 became a top RPG of all time. I love EA games.

I would say Sub sits on the 50/50. Not too high. Not too low. I've got a few EA games that are... shall we say.. very limited. One comes to mind right now (Alpha stage). Others started with very limited content - not many bugs but you couldn't really do anything and limited building content. I think Sub is fine as it is. I'll be surprised if there wasn't a good 10+ hours of content.

Subnautica has a lot of systems that need to be "just right". The resources, the open world layout, people getting lost in the story, etc.
Personally I think SN2 is one of those games where EA makes perfect sense.

Its a chassis, yeah. Each Chassis has to be attached and detached separately, you unfortunately can't whip any of them out whenever you want.

With that being said, I imagine the mech chassis will always be in mech mode, unlike the wings that can fold up. Because magically folding up a pair of very heavy legs and arms doesn't sound suuuper practical. But what do I know!

Al we have is this design and our theories as of right now, but it's very much a chassis, not it's own seperate vehicle. But again, being a chassis does not make it less than another vehicle. It just makes things cheaper for the player.
