I don’t remember exactly who made the most recent one I watched, but it compared how, in first-person view, the holes in the huge mushroom tree in Subnautica 1 look very small, whereas in third-person view, the holes are so large that Riley’s entire body could fit inside.

I also think it’s important to note that the swimming speed in the game is quite fast, and from a first-person perspective, objects appear shorter when you’re moving. because you can swim from one end to the other (of a big tree or animal) in just two seconds.
