All you had to do was type in a code on the steam game properties beta page, and you'd unlock the experimental branch,

I myself do production management and QA analysis but I’ve done everything and make solo games, I have knowledge in all the game fields, art, modelling, code, story, etc. I started as a beta tester, then dialogueguy, then story, and so on so forth. I do it all but main those two

Actually I think it doesn't even need a code. It's freely accessible from the beta branch menu.

That was how folks could access the pre 2.0 build after Living Large came out, before the Unity Breach.

You needed a code to access old early access builds. Below Zero actually had every numbered early access update available via codes. But they were all evicerated due to the Unity Breach.

You can still nab them from the Steam database by using a Depot Downloader... but you'd be putting yourself at risk by doing so.

This is actually wrong.

The IGN article featured a letter from the now former CEO of Unknown Worlds that had been out in place by KRAFTON. In said letter he claimed that the game was "ready for Early Access launch in May!" Or something, so IGN ran with that.

It's speculated and proposed by the returning CEO Ted Gill that this letter was leaked to IGN by KRAFTON as a last-ditch effort to spread confusion over the release date of SN2. It's unfortunately safe to say this plan, whether intention or not, worked.
