Yes they "lied" about Zezura, (or rather played very coy about it), but that's a whole other level than a simple vehicle that you're saying we've clearly already seen.

It wouldn't make sense for us to have seen a second vehicle blatantly right there, and yet they still deny working on more than one vehicle.

TL;DR you buy the game, you keep it forever, no hoops to jump through, no pay extra to get it a week earlier or anything. An argument for this UI would be: It doesn't take up half the screen. And it probably works better when screen is ultra-wide etc.
