im working on my own alien planet and for the intelligent species I have this thing, kinda a mix between a crab, squid, shark and a centaur.

I still need to fix some of the legs

Note: Spoilers mention Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero Creatures (for people who have not yet learnt their names, and would rather discover them on their own). 2nd Spoilers mention an end-game Creature.

I read this and I think "||kinda a mix between a Crab, Squid / Squid, Shark||..." Intentional or not, I see what you did there - Good ones 🙂. Visually, the face looks a bit like the ||Sea Dragon||, but with features that can be interpreted a few ways. Like, is that a beak with a bottom lip? An eyepatch over the left eye? Or is that a snout holding up a nose, that looks like a Hammerhead Shark? Or something else?

I can't tell if the squares under the beak/nose area, are supposed to be teeth (which would be the actual mouth), or if they're markings on the neck; and in this case, the beak is the mouth? The body also looks a little bit like the ||Sea Monkey||, who I believe is said to be an intelligent species...

I imagine they might scavenge for food, or have a civilization? Can they communicate/talk? When I think "Centaur", I think of a desert or Greek setting (for them). Is that the kind of setting these creatures would be in? Even if the legs/feet need fixing, you still did a good job on the drawing!

the things under the beak are antennae, like an isopods they just got a bit mangled when I did the shading

also the beak is based off of a giant squids

and to answer about their culture, they are an advanced civilization, about (if not more) as smart as humans. they are very traditional in their culture, I'd imagine they speak through chitters and clicks, also the picture has the alien wearing a traditional scarf and piercing on its crest

also they live on a planet that is primarily oceans, deserts and jungles, they tend to live on the shores and fish and farm (they're omnivores). although in their nomadic era of existence they were scavengers, built to go long periods of times without food and water. they primarily hunted the megafauna of the deserts during this early period of time.

There are parts where there's a gap, like the top.

And I forgot to mention that the propulsion cannon arm is inaccurate because you can actually shoot things with it. If you put a bar piece in the two by two by two piece with a spring on it, and build the weird bit on top, then you can pull down on the black two by two round holed plate, and if you pull hard enough, it will disconnect from the cylinder, and the spring will propell the top. You can attach things to it so it looks like it does in game.

This is a concept vehicle. I made for the game called the c.r.a.b It is bigger than a prawn suit, but smaller than a Cyclops. It cannot fit inside of a vehicle dock. It originally was a military grade excavator used for deep sea construction. It comes with a claw for picking up objects and you can either attach a torpedo gun or a drill to the other arm. It has 2 modes, a walking mode. Where it walks along the sea bed. It walks faster sideways. And it also has a "flight mode" Where it uses 2 propellers on its back to swim through the water about as fast as the Cyclops medium speed. However, using the swimming mode drains way more power than the walking mode. This can be upgraded by using engine efficiency modules. PS. I know my art is terrible. I was using ibis paint x PPS it has a max crush depth of 1250 meters when fully upgraded.
