hey man you're doing fine. have you received distress calls on the radio? maybe see what equipment or tool you can craft? or just explore till you find wrecks and scan fragments to craft more items. the story advances as you answer the distress calls and go to the coordinates it may provide (sometimes it only provides a picture/clue via the databank entry and you have to find it yourself)

The game has lots of sounds, music, specifically designed to enhance your experience. Makes no sense to just turn it off

Also, you get jumpscared once with no sound, maybe scary. After some time it would be annoying. The game doesn't rely on cheap jumpscares to make you terrified. It creates a sense of dread, unlike the one short lived scaryness of a jumpscare

Hi everyone! When I started playing this game a few years ago, it was a bit complicated. There was no way to pin the recipe to the top right, so you had to memorize the materials. And considering that some vehicles required a lot of materials and items to craft, it wasn't easy to remember everything. I think it's easier to play now, at least when it comes to building bases and vehicles. 🙂
P.S. Please keep in mind that I don't speak English, but I use a translator.

Honestly if you are really that scared, the best advice I have is to just load up creative and purposely run straight towards a leviathan a few times. I did that and after having those experiences it made them less daunting and scary to the point where I don't feel scared roaming around in either sn1 or 2 now

Seaglide will evade anything. Even ||reapers|| which are faster than you, but you can turn and they lose speed when they do. Also stay in crevices, around metal scrap/wreck, objects, anything that makes it hard for them to swim down to eat you

not trolling, but look at the map behind / other side of aurora - swim with a seaglide and enough for 1 solar, 1 multipurpose or large room, 1 hatch. Swim fast, start to build the room, stay under or in crevices to complete, build hatch, build solar on top, go inside.

Then return with more supplies to build observation from inside.

You shouldn't get hit if you hide in crevices and always move in irregular patterns like a Z (many hard turns).

Either look at map to see x, y, z close to multiple OR swim around until you have followers, build there.

As already said, it's not mandatory to grow anything. But typically players like to grow plants that can be eaten or used in crafting.
