Seamoth doesn't need nickel for upgrades. You can find nickel less than 900m deep, for which every vehicle can reach without needing nickel

Seamoth fragments are located near ||Lifepod 17 (west or southweest from your starting area), the grassy plateau area around Lifepod 17, and the Aurora seamoth bay (the big ship, need a radiation suit/laser cuter and propulsion cannon but the later isn't needed if you just jump over the boxes)||

Yeah, and actually, if you forget to grab some actual kelp while you're down there; You can't. You actually plant the blood oil itself, which is great since I forgot like both times I was at the Northern Blood Kelp zone

If you try really hard, I believe it's possible to launch yourself up there with a prawn and grapple if your issue is being unable to get on the platform. However, if the actual rocket won't open or, say, the time capsule won't activate, you may have to build another one.
