The story is fine, somehow slightly worse than Early Access's script, but otherwise workable.||

You can't see them from very far away. If you count how many can be seen from any given position in the inactive lava zone, and then look at what fraction of the inactive lava zone that covers, it's like 5-10 per 1% of the place or something.

As much as i want to believe it, i unfortunately cannot see how the mechanic's removal is a good thing.
The mechanic allowed for both expression of skill in the world around you (without becoming an apex hunter mind you) and didn't make the world give you a narcissistic injury by not responding to your actions; to quote gabe.
Its complete removal from the game isolates a good chunk of players from feeling the world is in depth, alongside removing any option you had in a situation except for "just dealing with the constant hits to the face 4hed"
It's also a huge option in how to deal with a problem, and one of the many reasons why i considered subnaut 1 to be up there with shocks in quality.

Regardless, the developers have a vision fur this game, and when a desired choice goes directly against those concepts and themes, I think it's okay fur them to drop it and decide how their own project goes. They listen to their community, but are not required to obey them.

It allowed you to at the very least decide between fight or flight, something that the game's current design removes half of, leaving only flight.
Not even VEHICLES kill things, or even prey fish anymore.
I have a clip of me having enough of the game's marrowhead mauling the hell out of me, so i lose my mind and ram it repeatedly, only for it not even to respond to my actions and continue to bite me.
Even without killing in the game, the enemy does not even respond to being run over.

And as for narcissistic injury, that quote about gabe was about bullets not leaving holes in walls, and this is much the same in a different way.
Creatures don't even respond to damage, let alone die.

A good compromise might be rather to have leviathans unkillable, but other things as killable.
It wouldn't remove an entire fascet to the game, nor would it allow you to "become the apex of the environment", although subnautica 1 already did this fine by not rewarding you in my eyes.

I need help with a Subnautica 2 save issue on PC (Xbox app/Game Pass). I made a manual save, then about 20-30 minutes later I did “Save & Exit,” and when I loaded back in I was at the newer/latest progress instead of the manual save I made earlier. I tried going into the WGS folder and found what looked like the older save, copied it, and put it back, but the game won’t load it properly. The issue is I also can’t start the game without internet, and when I go online it forces Xbox cloud sync and always loads the newest save anyway. I already made a backup of the older file, but is there any way to force the game to use the older local save, stop cloud sync from overwriting it, or recover the older version from the WGS folder?
