It's possible they despawn when you build on them, yes. Other leviathans used to do that as well but they prevented it by adding them the ConstructionObstacle component.

Perhaps, but you don't have to try to jump over the crates, especially in the Prawn Bay. Also you don't have to come back the same way when you're in the laboratory you can use the second entrance / exit. So even if you can parkour it's way better with it.

If you're talking about the powercell chargers they are not solar power. They use the power from the Cyclops's powercells. Therefore you just move the energy from the ones from the Cyclops to the ones in charge with no gain at all.
