I’ve been playing this game for an hour or two now and I notice I’m sort of stuck in the immediate area around my pod.

I’ve visited some wrecked pods. Found a much deeper biome and cave systems.

But I feel limited by the metals I can find close to my pod and how slowly I traverse depths and distances, even with the glider. (Copper finds limit batteries).

I made my awkward first base almost directly underneath the lifepod but again copper limits solar panels and thus growth.

I feel like I’m missing some clever plan to speed up my development.

Safe shallows has mainly limestone, but some sandstone can be found in caves. There is also metal salvage available for titanium. Kelp forest and grassy plateaus have plenty if both limestone and sandstone, and also metal salvage. Maybe you are staying in too small area? Craft high capacity tank and maybe also rebreather to be able to explore grassy plateaus easier🤷‍♂️

There's a low ledge just south of the tree where I like to set up - a couple thermal vents there also, for power tapping
