the sea dragons design is lazy just because of how hilariously unrealistic it is. it has a dragon like aesthetic (extremley large, fire breathing, lava dwelling. weird arm thingys, bipedial-ish posture)

the other creatures in the game look alien (the ghost leviathan is translucent, eerie, and like a ghost) reapers have an extremley unique design.

the other creatures, whilst inspired by other fantasy creatures, still remain grounded within subnauticas aesthetic of an alien world. the sea dragon is instead a lizard like design with tentacles.

from a gameplay design, the sea dragons are also not unique and extremley different from subnauticas overall gameplay design. ranged attacks feel less like subnautica and just more like a angry kaju in a volcano. it feels artifical and like a video game, whilst other creatures hostility felt organic in a sense.
it also barley matches the enviorment its built in (Gameplay wise)
clips through ground, is randomly hyper agressive, and has simple patrol paths.

Green dots are where the wrecks are.

If you stay relatively low and just where the left green dot is, you shouldn't aggro any reaper.
