ive been interested in "scannerless" (which is actually just using the scanner as little as possible since its still required) and forgot the captains quarters is inaccessible without the laser cutter normally, which (afaik) is only available as fragments. if i can get the bp without the laser cutter that would be a significant scan reduction since i believe i have a valid method of doing the other part of the story (possibly, theres one hiccup that i have been able to think of proactively but that depends on a few things, ill burn that bridge when i get to it) without a scanner at all, leaving just the cyclops which is unavoidable for now

If you look at your cyclops hologram on the right side of the steering wheel, you’ll see bubble or sphere around the vessel. Any creature, represented by dots, that enters that sphere will hear you.
Rig for silent running basically makes you undetectable but makes your cyclops absolutely burn energy

I only use rig for silent running when trying to de-aggro enemies after deploying a creature decoy or speeding away

But that’s just me. If you feel better with it, then by all means go ahead

silent running reduces your "aggro bubble" (which is the effective noise area that aggros leviathans lore wise) by like half i think and eats 1 power every second. i dont really use it anymore but im pretty experienced with the cyclops now and i end up just ignoring the leviathans anyway

i always take the cyclops all the way so i dont have to go all the way back to base to make the Thing

for getting leviathans away from the cyclops its best to drop a decoy, run a bit and if youre still too close for comfort turn the engine off. speed 1 with silent running has a small bubble but leviathans (especially ||sea dragons||) love getting all close and cuddly

theres some lithium in nodes you need the drill for and sitting out around the mushrooms and near the hot spots (which its normally near anyway). other than that and the other resources from shale and the magnetite (theres also a couple nodes of that in there too iirc) i dont think theres really anything else but there are a couple points of interest. id recommend exploring a bit
alternatively, if you dont want to blindly wander that cave id recommend finding the floating island. youll understand when you find it

uhh its pretty simple just swim too and behind the crashfish

they dont go enough time to turn around

you will get a free medkit when u get a repair tool if you fix it in the crash pod

my tip is always listen to the lady in your PDA and read all the database entries. follow every signal for the first time always from your lifepod otherwise you will miss a lot and always explore around the lifepods to. try to do a 100% run means getting every scan, abandoned pda and database downloads and database entry possible. and try to pick up all alien tablets it's kind of insane where you can get them.

also copper is just in limestone chunks like titanium u just have to get a bit lucky

i always end up with like 12 spare lockers of copper because I never come home empty. I pick up everything on my way back, or breack every chunk

dude youre going too early ur kayanite is like 1200 m deep and the best u got is the mk1 for the seamoth

You can go to the Lost River very fine with Seamoth max 900 meters.

For experienced players you can pick up your kaynite by passing by in the ||Lava Castle|| Seaglide only.

I watched a lot of speedruns and was experienced. Now I do the endgame most of the time with seaglide only. You need some luck but it's incredible fast.

i prefer the prawn suit because i can go to the ground,use the grappling hook like 10 meters away and before it reaches its destination i remove it and i jump and it gives me a lot of speed

That's why you have drill arm (or 2) to swap when mining...propulsion arm can also be fun to play with

I played a lot and cyclops is nice to farm in big scale because you can bring a lot of inventory space. but it's huge and clunky and difficult to maneuver in small spaces. I mostly use it only for transport my second base into the LR.

And prawn I don't like that you have such a narrowed view. But it's definately the fastest vehicle in game. And you need it for drilling. I like to place different outposts with a designated prawn suite for drilling.

Mostly I have something like 5 to 6 prawns all over the map where I need them.
