warpers are created by invisible spawner entities. they have 100 HP and if they die they teleport away during their death animation. if they take any damage, they also teleport away and come back with full HP pretty fast

you can't get rid of them but if you smash them with your seamoth it will buy you a little bit of time

you can't kill them with thermoblade, you can only hit them twice before they warp out

if you slam into them full bore with the seamoth, you'll see them start tilting sideways as they warp out, that's the death animation

so that does usually mean hitting every story location within about half an hour

the glitchless speedrun record is 54 minutes to beat the game currently

well, its not really weird vector math. they didnt normalize the vector

going in 2 directions at the same time just makes you go faster because the 2 vectors are added. when theyre maxed out the resulting vector is just bigger because triangles

its why its very important to always normalize your movement vectors before applying modifiers

speaking of weird vehicle speed tech did you know that the prawn with the grapple arm attached to anything will accelerate with no cap as long as its grounded

generally only moving parallel to the grapple line will be effective because otherwise the grapple pulls harder for some reason?

probably a similar issue with vectors lol

i have no clue how or why but its pretty easy and makes prawn movement insanely fun

also hitting something reflects your movement away from the wall (which is normal and to be expected, bouncing off walls makes sense in a mech going as fast as it takes to do so), but if it happens right after you release a grapple i think it doesnt reduce your speed much (or you just have enough coming out of it that the reduction is just not enough) letting you do insane wallbounces

But to answer your question, you get ||ion cubes, needed to awaken teleport arches and used as power/batteries later in the game; the PDA tells you where the other necessary alien buildings are that you need to visit in order to find the cure and shut down the gun||.

||the island itself is pretty normal. if you go through it, you'll find it has a massive cave system rich in magnetite, lithium, diamond, lots of goodies. there's also an alien portal in that cave system. as for the qep, it's a large cannon that shoots down any craft near the planet to stop bacterial spread. it's responsible for the degasi crash, the aurora, presumably many others in the past. to shut it down so you can leave, you need to cure yourself and let the power source test you again as proof that a cure has been found||

||Two of them teleport between the islands. There’s one in the power facility that links back to the gun. And there’s six in the Primary Containment facility that link to various places on the map so that you can get to it more easily. Before one (or all) of those six are activated, you need to drive through a loooooong tunnel and series of caverns, past some pretty serious hostile leviathans, in order to get to the Primary Containment Facility. You’ll want to get there because a. cure for the disease, b, source of infinite ion cubes.||

I mean, you ^can^ make a base, build ships and explore the map. I usually spend a lot of time on that before finishing things up, these days.

I get that - it can be very frustrating. The game wants you to explore, look around everywhere you can, and the reward for doing that is the discovery of tech or story that leads you further. But it can feel like you’re stuck until that happens.

In a way, that’s the game telling you your next objective. Found a seaglide fragment? It tells you how many more you need, so you explore to find more of them. The tech page tells you what resources you need to build it. So you go out, look for things you can pick up. Oh, that’s where you can get x, y, and z. That’s the way the game is structured. It may not, sadly, fit your playstyle. No judgement! There’s lots of games people love that I’m indifferent to.

Also when the game gives you a beacon marker for example to a lifepod, you are meant to also explore around the palce and not just go directly to marker, search the pod and go back to your base/lifepod. Have seen some streamers do that...

Head to the intact side of the Aurora, then work your way along it until you can pass through the broken section. You shouldn’t have any trouble. Don’t go all the way around to the front, it’ll get you then.

I’ll be honest, I’ve given up trying to fight them because the knife’s range is pretty short. Once you get the propulsion cannon, though, you can pick them up and fire them into the sun and it is ^very^ satisfying.

That’s the platform to the right. If you have the propulsion cannon, you can get in. but I was suggesting the left platform.

I have a ton of supports…thus the empty large room at the beginning to give it enough spaces to build enough support…the rest of the structural support comes from the multipurpose rooms that have the long ladders when there is elevation changes…tho I’m not sure of your initial question of whether glass tunnels require more support than others

||So, the inactive lava zone is that huge, dark cavern with the sea dragon swimming about. In the middle is a huge mountain, usually called the castle. There are green alien markers showing an entrance to tunnels. I’ve always found 3-4 Kyanite chunks in there.||

If you haven’t gotten the drill arm for your Prawn yet, you’ll need to go back and search some mid-to-deep wrecks for the fragments.
