So now that I found magnetite in the jellyshroom caves, is there a way to deal with those big snake things that does not involve me bringing my prawn suit down there? I mean that thing was doing work, but it was so very hard to get it out of there and I'm afraid to take it back down.

theres literally more supply boxes than u can count, all nutrient blocks and disinfected water, and a couple batteries

What would you need the prawn suit for down there? I’ve always managed with my seamoth. You can use perimeter defense, but it’s best just to not go right over the top of the jellyshrooms where the crabsnakes pop out of, or dodge any swimming about. I’ve never had that many issues, rarely needed to do any repairs. Mostly I just watch the low hanging ceiling because sometimes it loads in a bit late lol. You should be fine for collecting magnetite (I get it in the sort of bare areas off to the sides rather than around the jellyshrooms)

If you’re using seaglide to gather things, and crabsnakes are near, they’re not that bad if they bite. You should always have a few medkits in your inventory

Crabsnakes are also very very low aggression so if they bother you, just run them over from behind with the seamoth 2-3 times and they'll die

You can gradually clear them out that way, there are like 15 of them

Just from the way they came at me going through the caves the first time I figured they were more aggressive. I mean if they're easy enough to dodge and they don't really pursue, then I'll just take the seamoth down there.

they constantly pop out and roam around even if you arent nearby so it could be a coincidence. if you don't get pretty close to their mushroom they wont aggro you specifically most of the time. they make a certain yell when they've decided to rush at something (either you or a fish)

I just got done mining hundreds and hundreds of quartz and Titanium in my current hardcore save, and after building a small little reaper observatory around a Dunes vent I'm gonna make a ghost observatory in the far reaches of the northern bloodkelp extending into the dead zone. Gonna use the erupting vents below the underwater floating islands as my thermal power.

How many thermal powers can you fit on one heat zone geyser? I've never used Thermal in the surface world, only the ILZ. I have six Thermal power stations and it's barely enough

In the vents within the jellyshroom caves I can fit 4 per vent right in the sweet spot, and those vents get well over 100 degrees (not even the lava zone gets that hot), and at 100 degrees or more they make 99 energy a minute. I've got just the 4 for my Jellyshroom base and that's enough for 2 water filters, scanner room, moonpool, and multiple battery and power cell chargers to run at the same time and the base doesn't even fall below half.

Not to be confused with those black smoker vents you'd find in places like the Dunes or Lost River, which aren't even close to as hot.

And those smoker vents are a lot harder to cram thermals onto in the most optimal spots since there's a lot less room.

Not that it can't be done though.

If your power stays around 900-1000/1500, it means that 3 of your thermals are being used and 3 are not (the 3 used provide enough energy for the usage).

I always have a practical portion that's reinforcements/resources/storage where I enter, then the purely scenic/aesthetic portions of the base where I'm usually watching Leviathans swim by.

Jellyshroom is one of 2 places with the absolute best source of thermal power in the game, and with max range upgrades the scanner can pick up a pretty wide variety of stuff there.

I decided not to ever use bioreactors because they require manual refueling. All my bases run off 24 solar panels attached to a surface-level structure that connects to the rest of the base by a vertical tube

Just plop the thermals on the heat source, connect them to base with a handful of power transmitters, and boom I never have to think about power again.

Also how they do sometimes clip into things, is not really a bug, but also is related to their large size and the environment

As to “fair fight” they weren’t ever designed for people to “fight” them anyway

The trick is, ||wait for them to start swimming toward you, then swim past them. They can’t turn in time, and explode harmlessly behind you||.

There is no wreck in the end game as you enter the cave systems.

Early wrecks are the ones in Kelp Forest, Safe Shallows, Grassy Plateaus.

I would say every other wreck is mid-game.

But you won't find the drill arm in the others. Mountains, Mushroom Forest, Bulb Zone, Sea Treader's Path, Sparse Reef.

Yes.

Creatures have a leash position, a specific location they'll try to go back to, if the priority of this behavior has precedence over the others.

But some things can change that position.

The main one being the behavior FleeOnDamage.

Tl;dr they'll stay at the position where they stopped fleeing when they're hurt.

It is 100% a prawnsuit was docked very long time ago and I never really had the use for it till now

Turn of floodlights infront, turn em on only in the dark parts
always go for middle-low power
Remove the power cell chargers, useless as hell
When leaving the cyclops, turn the engine and internal lights off, saves energy

Seamoth is very good when you want to go to any of the 2 islands, to the aurora or anywhere with an abscence of leviathans

Prawn suit needs some upgrades since I rarely use it

turn off the shield unless you hate managing power, the shield is ONLY to be turned on in the last second of a leviathan hit, sometimes i just let cyclops tank it
Don't use the sonar every 3 seconds, it also uses energy

If you mean power cell charger built in cyclops, it's useless even with the thermal reactor module: you are already charging 6 cells in the engine and possibly 2 more in docked prawn.
