alternatively, it has 5,000 health, which divided by 40 damage (thermoblade 20+20 per swing) is 125 - meaning 125 knife swings will kill him. if you lock him down with a fully charged stasis rifle shot, he will be inactive for about 30 seconds, during which time you can safely swing the knife 25 times before firing again, allowing you to kill him within about 5 stasis rifle shots over the course of 150 seconds

there are faster ways using gasopods

1 gas pod deals about 185 damage. so you can stasis lock the dragon, then drop 30 gas pods from your inventory on top of the dragon and it will die, whether or not you use your knife to speed things up any more

Base building underwater requires you to keep watch on its structural integrity, the moonpool probably lowered it below the limit and hence your base will start flooding.
First things first, decontruct the moonpool and fix the leaks, then craft reinforcements, foundations, bulkhead doors (these increase the structural integrity) and then you can go ahead and put in the moonpool.
