Bioreactor is basically cheap to build, and with growbeds, alien containment or even grav trap, has basically infinite fuel available. Downsides are the need of refuelling and it's slow to convert biomatter to energy

It takes a little bit more than 1 bioreactor to keep running nonstop and that's assuming you don't have anything else taking up power

If you build some other things like another bioreactor, solar panels, thermal power (if you have it) then you should start gaining power

You can have 4 trees per growbed and 10 samples from each tree. Subtracting the 4 you'd need to refill the growbed, that's 36 samples at +8 food and +10 water.

288 food and 360 water per growbed.

You can have 16 melons per growbed, but can only eat 12 if you want to properly refill it. So 12 melons at +12 food and +14 water.

144 food and 168 water.

Per item? The melons are slightly better, but considering the total the trees win

No, the energy from the powercells in the Cyclops are transfered towards the ones in charge with a 1:1 ratio. In other words, if you just replace the powercell in the Cyclops with a depleted one you'll get the same result.
