It's more of a problem with perspective in a 3d environment. With the water fog and the fact you're swimming it's difficult for the brain to process size without references.

Thom will explain it better.

The problem is the camera FOV, you're squashing a 3D world onto a 2D screen and that comes with some artifacts such as perspective not being realistic. By default the game has a FOV setting that's not super realistic, this is to prevent motion sickness for people playing the game.

@upper moss What you can do is lower your FOV in the settings, it will be more 'realistic' in terms of perspective. But ultimately you can't remove the problem altogether, just reduce the problem 🙂

Same principle for the caves basically. When you're in the Jellyshroom your biome is not Kelp Forest, or Grassy Plateaus.
