The prawn suit arms tend to be a bit hit or miss with the spawns. I usually always check the floating island first. Usually it's good for cyclops engine frags too so I get those there if I see rhem

But here you can see they share a solar panel
The set of tubes has 3 solar panels, it was constructed first. So its energy rating was 225 originally
Then I built the moonpool. It didn’t have any energy on its own, so I added 2 solar panels.
It then got the “power restored” message
2 panels means it has 150 power, which it does say that.
But there is a line connecting it holographically to the other base
And now the original base has power of 300.
So base 1 has 300 (3 solar panels)
And base 2 has 150 (2 solar panels)
This obvious doesn’t add up

@hot sparrow'best' place is anywhere near a volcano. An essential base is near to the cove tree. Last place for a moonpool is just outside the entrance to the tree where the depth remains less than 900m

nothing is achieved by creating a base AT the cove tree. As stated above, nearest energy source is just outside it's entrance and being less than 900m allows parking a prawn / seamoth in a moonpool.

I leave my cyclops there. So it’s useful for me. I just take the prawn down further (which there’s an entrance to the ||ILZ|| behind). So depends what counts as useful. I scout out the place with seamoth and collect nickel and crystalline sulfur (the latter I get from a separate area) and then come back with cyclops and prawn. There’s no wrong way to do it, but to say nothing is achieved, will depend on your method and goals

i am quite definite in my wording that base there is pointless. your last opportunity to create / recherge power cells is also a bonus. plus a scanner to grab most resources.

there is nowhere else that's practical, to leave a seamoth.

The base i build there is often as large as my surface one with observatory and other fun stuff.

metal salvage regenerates in the safe shallows due to the fish that chew on them. titanium ore for a prawn drill is fairly well spread but a seamoth with bins is faster

there's a bug in the game that when you deplete any ore, the scanroom still thinks it's 'there'. pretty annoying.

for that reason i only use the prawn for kyanite (if at all)

Each stalker has a specific point (or maybe several, not sure) where they want to bring metal salvage that they find. If two stalkers find each other's 'nest', they can end up constantly moving the salvage back and forth, and each time they pick up a salvage, they can drop a tooth (20 % chance)

Resources don't respawn in the big coral tubes. There are just two of them. As for the sandstone, yes some slots have sandstone outcrops because of an omission.

Stalkers dropping a tooth is 25%.

I can explain why. Those slots should have rockgrubs, but the rockgrub isn't a small entity slot type.

Large room has 4 slots for bioreactor/nuclear reactor. Alien containment uses two of these, and to fit two containments in the same room, need to build them on both ends of the room, not in the middle. Building a containment in the middle on room above or below connects them all to a single tank

Because you have enough depth to expand, to park your vehicles without stucking them, you're still in the center of the map, and if you're near lifepod 17 you'll reach a bunch of biomes with your scanner room. Like Kelp, Grassy, Jellyshroom.
