Sometimes it can be possible to miss an existing hole if you’re trying to get rid of flooding
A hole can be behind a locker or other item in your base
If you have a mixture of above and below water base, a hole can be in a structure above the waterline and might not cause flooding but the lights can be dimmed (it might flood later, I’m less sure of that part)

If you have thermal knife and propulsion cannon, it's super easy to catch fish and cook them with the knife. It's slow going, but you won't need a fabricator.

This is a good reason to always bring 2 titanium, a single gel sack, and a habitat builder every time you explore. Worst case scenario, you can grow infinite gel sacs for hunger and thirst. You just slice a gel sack twice, pick it, plant it, plant the two seeds you got from slicing the gel sac, lather, rinse, repeat.

Ik there are almost no bladderfish to catch in times of emergency
I highly suggest taking the cyclops so you can store more materials and more food and stay safer
Also I'm no expert

up to you if you want to bring one or just both. it’s between ||800-900m|| though, so make sure they have the proper depth modules

in terms of materials to look out for; there are lots of resources down there so i’d just explore and see what you can find. definitely grab some nickel while you’re there though, you’ll need some for a couple upgrades

definitely bring plenty of food + water too, because there’s a decent amount to explore down there

i went behind the aurora to kill one reaper to feel safe. I used stasis rifle on him and spamming prawn suit attacks on reaper only to see another one came behind me(stasis rifle saved me). After I killed both of those reapers i saw a shadow of another reaper on me
