people underestimate how annoying hardcore is in survival games
deathrun has a lot of things that make it difficult, but hardcore is a completely different difficulty option thats seperate in a majority of games/mods/whatever for a good reason

I mean I’m pretty much a Subnautica expert (other than the deepest biomes where I don’t have as much experience in), but I’ll never play hardcore
And that’s not even related to the fact I generally don’t like survival mode tbh (I prefer freedom far and away, for personal reasons)
But even if I was a survival mode fan, I just would not want to play hardcore, mostly because you never know when a bug or some other random glitch would end your run, and have no recourse to fix
I’m a pretty easy going person, and not prone to rage or anything, but also at my age, I don’t find a need to subject myself to stuff that will needlessly cause me anxiety or stuff, if that makes sense😂

That's just how it works.

The scanner room doesn't save the scanned items. You have to populate the list each load. That means loading the area by swimming around or using the camera drones.

To complete the game? Not as far as I am aware. It's most likely possible to do so without the drill arm, but if you're able to get it you should as it makes gathering certain resources much easier. Also, ||in the lava zone you'll mostly find large chunks of kyanite that can only be drilled, except for ones you can pick up near the caves that lead to the thermal alien plant I believe||
