#why are there still master/legend restrictions in ranked?

There's definitely some new characters that I'd like to try out and the gameplay/progression is thousands of times better than currently in supervive

Also there's a ton more variety
I remember some melee Abrams build I played that was funny af
I liken it closer to Smite and other mobas in 3rd person. But 3rd person isn't for everyone

BAPBAP feels similar enough just a lil slower. Though the augments make everyone giga OP once you're a few rounds in.

There's also no matchmaking iirc so you can only play with friends
yeah that's where it's at its best. But there is a server browser and playing with randos has been pretty fine in my experience
max lobby size is 8 and they seem to be getting anywhere from 600-1200 daily users so lobbies should be open pretty much all the time
Bapbap gonna be hard to get into with it's current party game like system no matter what honestly. Game seems cool but I could never get into it

the restriction rules are stupid but my issue with the game at this point is that playing ranked is literally meaningless
Ranked past masters 4 seems to be 'how well can you solo carry' when only a few characters in the game can solo carry at that rank

You can check your op.gg if there isn't 12 teams in the lobby
then that means there were bots teams

The time when the game had the most players was when we could actually play together.
Supervive is a fun game, meant to be played as a team. When the game grows, establishes itself, and builds a solid player base, only THEN should you think about competitive play, solo player viability, or the legitimacy of the ranked system.
If a new player or a solo player doesnât want to get stomped by a 3-stack lobby, then they should simply not play ranked.
Simple.
Thatâs exactly why you separated the queues into normal games and ranked in the first place.
The dumbest thing in the world is to insist on these restrictions.
Does it make sense? Sure, but only when the game actually grows.
The only server that really had major problems with this was EU, and that happened for several other reasons:
Brall was EXTREMELY strong.
There were very few good teams (way above the curve).
But now:
the game doesnât have low TTK anymore,
the game doesnât have a fast pacing anymore,
the game doesnât have one broken character that can 1v9 anymore,
and the game doesnât have just 4 good players anymore.
And honestlyâwhat do you even have to lose right now? We already have the same player base as before 1.0âŠ
Whatâs the harm in lifting the restrictions, gathering some data, and seeing what happens? If the outcome is really bad, you can just revert it.
Supervive is a fun game, built to play with friends. Let us play with our friends, where the reason to keep playing is competing for ranksâtogether.

Aram + flex + normals is like 60 - 70% of league games played
2024 aram was most played

nobody cares for flex or clash and aram is only relevant mode
globally normal draft fames 96 mill global ranked 320 mill
combine all the modes without aram and ranked still wins
half of those ranked games are <silver which you could consider casual players
a competitive game cannot survive without a massive audience of casuals
casuals bring money, money bring competition
no game game has ever survived trying to be only competitive and catering to competitive players
doesnt matter how good/shit you are at league there is enough players queuing at any given point for you to get in a game and "feel good" atleast 50% of the time
supervive experience for a casual is so far away from the casual enjoyment anyone can get from league
i think it depends per region aswell
NA and EU play aram more
but in like KR its much more heavily skewed towards ranked

League is also very old and has a big playerbase that isnt commited enough anymore to play ranked but still wants to play the game enough to settle with aram
I dont think even 10% of these games has players that started playing league to play aram
Yes its nice to have another gamemode that can be used for fun with no ties attached to some random funny number
but at the same time, keep in mind that that usually isnt what gets people to play ur game
That kinda attachement to a game is hard to forge.
I see this argument come up now and then and i get it, but this only really makes sense if you have a playerbase to begin with lol, itd be more interesting to see how the relationship between gamemodes was when the majority of players was still new to League.
