Well this is fun, waiting for a fkn terminal to refresh
be prepared for a lot of frustrating bugs! I hope you're a patient individual by nature.
Oh im very patient lol i love these early access games.
Like the only reason im getting this is for mining and hopes for the future updates.
well i hope you enjoy the game in the mean time!
i love the mining in this game, its super relaxing, when its a stable patch.
takes a wee while to figure out though
Is flight easier when using a HOTAS?
If I have a refinery going before the wipe will I be able to collect it after
after the wipe? nope
Not impressed, ran medical supplies through the blockade, sold them, mission objective updated to "sell medical supplies to Hur L5" and no bonus given
I'll try again on the next one, prolly just unlucky
man the game is taunting me
i just rented a prospestor to try out mining
this is the 2nd rock i cant mine
previous one was 35% quantanium 5600 mass 60 resist
@dire spoke bruh.. mining quant with rented prospector is not going to work well...
yeah with a rented prospector you can only crack rocks up to about 4800 mass.
how many runs did you manage before it ended?
I only did the one since it didn't work right, then went and joined the fight lol
Everybody I asked said there was supposed to be a bonus for every load. I dropped off a full c2 of medical supplies and the mission didn't even complete lol.
id try again next one
Irl money π
Anyone able to help me with the basics of hand mining and what to do? Im trying to make some money because there are no delivery jobs ready
Do you know how to hand mine? Are you looking for location recommendations and tips or need more basic guidance?
No idea of anything. I bought the tool and the attachment and just tried to fly to microtech to try and start but my game crashed
Basically I know nothing at all
Someone said microtech was a good spot so yeah
I would look up a guide on YouTube with hand mining. It can be hard to explain what rocks look like without a visual
Alright, all i know is to keep it in the green and keep it centered on one spot. I know that because of a video I watched
Also every tutorial is like 6 months old so idk if that will change anything
best laser for roc ds and prospector? And best area to mine with them?
also how do I collect the ores once I mine them with both vehicles
The basics should still remain the same. You essentially have two options: 1) accept a cave bounty, which requires FPS combat, 2) fly around in your ship and look for gems to mine
Stock ROC laser is fine. For ROC, Aberdeen/Daymar, for Prospector Aaron halo. Haven't Prospector mined so can't comment in loadout
Could I fly around in my ship and look for caves? Or would I have to look for nodes on the surface
Mining vehicles have an extraction mode that sucks up the items once they drop. Note that the ROC-DS has separate seats for the driver and mining operator
It'd be pretty difficult even if you know where the caves are. There will likely be enemies there regardless of whether you have a bounty active
so I shouldnt hand mine
I would recommend renting a ROC and Cutty Black for gem mining, you can recoup the rental cost in 1 run
It's not, but luckily there's plenty else you can do to grind a bit more out!
ok which mining head breaks quant? cause i cant get the stupid bar to move for shit
anyone?
or is this just dead chat
Lancet
Lancet head, with surge module is best
Trying to stock up on medical supplies for the event, but apparently everyone else is doing the same lol
If you're not having luck filling up prior to the start of a blockade, restock rates increase dramatically once the event starts
Can you mine quantanium with a rented prospector
You'll probably want to outfit it with what Mhisery said (lancet + surge). Just make sure you unequip the components prior to the rental period expiring
Ah ok, was wondering how I got lucky enough to fill up completely earlier lol
Oh I didnβt know you could change the components on a rented ship
No you can't mine quant practically with a rental
You can't change components
But you can change the lasers and stuff?
No
Can't change anything, rental prospectors are ok for other types of ores, but not quant due to the instability and not being able to change laser or equip modules
Ah I see
But you can go find laranite/bexalite/taranite and make some decent money
Damn totally thought you could swap components on rented ships
PTU has shop search bars!
What colours are these
Since when?π
Since now I guess
how do I deploy the mining laser on the prospector lol
Apparently you can already do Red Wind delivery missions
press M
unfortunately you cant equip optional equip on rentals
not really if you learnt how to use the Prospector
cool
That run was purely for money π but what will that update bring?
Ya but what will the update add?
do you turn in the meds for the blockade inside the station?
Yep, sell it at the admin trade terminal like you normally would
Just make sure you accept the contract once you get there for the bonus 1000 aUEC per SCU of medical supplies
Indeed. make sure you have the contract, as you should get 1000aUEC per SCU as well π
admin trade terminal? which level is that on?
Always in the galleria at lagrange point rest stops
Gallery
Room with an orange front
During the event, look for where the magority of people are running π
^During the blockade while on foot, all allies will be marked with an arrow on your HUD
ugh, my marker still says it's 8000 meters outside the station LOL
You can fly a little out of the quantum dampening area and QT to the lagrange point station
i'm inside the station now at the terminal. making about 10k profit on a cutty's worth. I guess I'll get another k when I hit sell?
Should do, yj
thanks guys. worked like a champ.
Great thing with the medical supplies mission for 9T is that you make profit on the cargo it'self, but you also make 1000aUEC for every SCU you deliver whilst you have the contract
TBH, I really wish that CIG could increase the number of Hostile AI around the station to make flying in that much more difficult
yeah it was easier than i expected
damn..maybe I should rent a bigger freighter. LOL
Largest you can rent is a Constellation Andromeda. Ideally, you would be looking to get your hands on a C2. with 696 SCU, you can earn 696,000 aUEC per full load on meds π
best place to rent ships? cargo centers on L stations?
Yummi π Also: Have you ever encountered this issue with the ROC mining laser? Look at where I'm aiming and where the laser aims π
hit z and reset your freelook.
Tried, did not work. I'll try to reclaim my ROC
What's the markup like on Medical supplies for this run now?
Not sure, I havn't hada chance to run it yet due to work and then moving leter on
Can I write something in Hungarian? Just to attact people? π
Selling price seems to be nominal, but you get 1000 aUEC extra for every SCU of meds
Can I? π
well now i know xd
Just to lure them. Ther is a "habit" among Hungarians to write a specific sentence and then everybody knows: Yeap.. .that is a Hungarian allright π
Bojler nΓ‘lam eladΓ³! π
π€ Google translates that as: I have a boiler for sale π
does the base mole have good enough lasers for quant
Like "I am Hungarian?"
Yes, but Bojler eladΓ³ is funnier π
whats the best thing to mine outside of quant
If we're talking prospector\mole mining the greens. But even there you see that Quant is basically double the worth
seems like there are some changes to scanning in 3.17.2 but because you start with 10k money noone earned enough for a prospector yet :d
I'll do 2 bunkers and then go straight for roc/freelancer combo
not sure if this belongs here, but how do i get medical supplies for the event. im at trade and stock but see no medical supplies
You gotta buy them (check pinned messages in jt-nt event chat). Then go to the barricade and you'll get a mission supplies needed
is selling raw materials just like completely bugged
has been for me for a long time... at least at ARC L1 - the kiosk never recognized my Prospector
Dang it. After 2h of mining my game crashed with a ROC full with Hadenite. OFC, after loging back, the ROC was empty π π
Hey guys, Hadenite is only on Hurston's Moons ?
Hadenite isn't on your screenshot ^^"
Well doesn't seem it's worth it to be around MT for Hadanite
Hmm.. Okay, thanks.
np
Great community here, glad I joined this Discord ^^"
i guess i have to refine ores, since i cant sell them raw
You can
Next to the refining terminal is a place to sell
Idk why you would ever sell unrefined ore but you can
If you're ever in a hurry I guess
Probably for the first load so you can afford refining at the start
do i sell medical supplies at admin in grim hex?
Check this, but i don't see Grim hex as an option to sell at all there
What new gadgets are good for prospector quantanium mining?
It's been a long time since I've mined it, is lancet still the best mining head?
Lancet is what most start with, but I've seen experienced quant miners use Helix
with FLTR to up yield or Focus to let you tackle larger rocks
Lancet, Surge.
Gadgets if you want to use Helix
so when to medical supply runs to blockaded station start again?
maybe check niknax
July 4th
where did you buy them at?
Check pinned messages in #4-8-0-live
#4-8-0-live message
C2 vs m2?
I'd say C2, M2 doesn't serve a role that another ship can't fill
Alright thanks for help c2 it is
you may know this but I wanted to throw it out there ... you know a game wipe is coming next week except for earned reputation, right? Mining is sort of bugged at the moment. The Prospector does work great for the most part but I keep getting the "vanishing ore" bug where all the raw Quantainium would just vanish out of the ship.
All the refinery stores are fubar, so you need to get the Lancet from Dumpers at Port Olisar, Shubin at New Babbage or Tammany&Sons in Lorville
The heavy armor of the M2 will make it extreme durable in combat zones when that mechanic is eventually implements, aka Soon(TM). For gameplay currently, if considering trade, the C2 is the win. For hostilities and having a team, the M2 is the best route.
Is there somewhere I can sell waste?
https://sc-trade.tools/best-buyer?q=%257B%2522ship%2522:%2522C2%2520Hercules%2522,%2522investment%2522:1000000,%2522itemName%2522:%2522Waste%2522,%2522itemQuantity%2522:3200,%2522showDetails%2522:true,%2522itemNames%2522:%255B%255D,%2522itemNamesType%2522:%2522whitelist%2522,%2522locationNames%2522:%255B%2522Stanton%2520%253E%2520CRU%2520L1%2520%253E%2520CRU-L1%2520Ambitious%2520Dream%2520Station%2522%255D,%2522locationNamesType%2522:%2522whitelist%2522,%2522avoidHiddenLocations%2522:false%257D is saying to sell it at the Refinement Center at Cru L1 but I'm not seeing where to sell it
nor at the admin station
For some reason. you are not currently able to sell waste. I believe this stopped working sometime post ILW
Is there an eject cargo button on the c2 hercules by chance?
There's a jettison cargo keybind, though I haven't been able to get it to work
Do we have any idea how long it takes for materials to respawn at a location to buy?
Around 1-2 minutes
the Jettison cargo only works for mining ships with volatile ore (Quantainium) the only way to get the ship clear of cargo is to reclaim it
Check SC Trade Tools site, it post all the refresh rates for each station and material they sell
Remember, you are competing against all players on all servers at the same time, available commodities is common across all servers
where it says 14m 33s
that's how long it takes for laranite to refill?
at that station?
or that's the time of the trip?
Time of trip
Nice that.
Laranite? You are best to give that up and just grab what is on hand along with titanium
The ghost of laranite just won't die
Two years later after the heyday of the Laranite rush and players still seek it
CIG killed that puppy
Also "fill at the station" won't happen because there are other players hitting the Kiosk and clicking "Buy" the whole time it is trying to refill
Laranite is available on the PTU server
I know 3.17.2 is coming fast but I just don't have time right now, I would rather spend this time learning and refining my mining method to prepare for tbe update even though I'll never reap tbe rewards
The biggest change is how ping is done. Master this and your Prospector will print money
Is it still the same as before where I look out the side window and slowly roll to see the rocks?
In the Aaron belt
Prospector can only use MH1....Mole can use both.
what do i mine?
Make the most money....quantanium.
Crack all rocks, then hoover the blue rocks.... Don't move on to another rock, just bug out.
ok
I'm starting to worry that my love for the Hull series is going to cause me heartbreak later on, since they can't defend themselves
B and c won't be bad d and e will need escorts and a will regularly be ignored
oh I hope so. I'm hoping the B shows up in the Foundation Week sale and that I can CCU chain into it and save a few bucks.
Where can I currently buy the Lancet MH1?
!itemfinder any location that's not a Lagrange point refinery since those terminals are bugged
Use the website to search for any item (and where to buy them) in-game.
right.... but isn't it screwed up to where you can only get it at a particular place right now?
Looks like these are the two places you can get one right now
thank you
https://finder.cstone.space/ this is a great site for finding where to buy ships, modules, ammo etc, highly recommend a bookmark
The fact that itβs not server-wide is ridiculous
Lorville too.
Hey guys, Why everyone is using Lancet Head when it seems there is better mining head ?
lancet lowers the resistance of quantanium
cos it has a better stability modifier
which is great because quantanium has very high resistance stats, so lancet makes it easier to mine quant on the whole
and a higher resistance modifier
So Lancet is "Specialized" in Quant Mining ?
in practice yeah
you could stick to helix and use those new mining consumables, the little mines you clamp to a rock, theres one that gives a similar resistance effect.
but that's extra effort as well as expense
my mole setup involved 2x lancets, 1x helix, for a higher 'vacuum' throughput. Tho they both reach the goal.
So.. What's the effect of the "Power" of the head ?
Because Helix is 2.3k & Lancet is only 1.4k
I don't understand how it works..
Theory: You be charging up the roids, when they reach their breaking point they'll shard up. For boulders, they have 3 steps (last one being the 'vacuum' up).
stability is how much you need to adjust the power bar, as it jumps up and down.
With these two heads, you have 3 mod slots. With this mod slots you can add things that will do 2 things, 1 beneficial, 1 detrimental. Your job is finding the ones that fit your style.
and about the Resistance ?
example: Focus has a Resistance (beneficial), instability (detri)
Because, i can Split 8T rocks but can't some 6T
so they are resisting your power dump. or nullifying parts of your work. With mods you can change those values.
Focus III - -10% resist, +4% instability. So while you reduce their resistance you increase the instability (jumping up and down).
So, if i understand correctly, i could take My Helix with 3 mods that lower resistance & crack more heavy Rocks ?
There are 3 important things that affect mining; (1) Power (the strength of your laser, how fast it "charges", (2) Resistance (kinda like the "defences" of the rock, how hard it is to mine), (3) Instability (The higher this is the more unstable the charging will be, it will jump up and down, making it hard to stay in the "sweet spot" in the green)
just, but can only put 1 of each type of mod. Not like Eve where we put multiples.
So i could only put 1 Focus 3 ?
if you put multiple it picks the highest value and ignores others
huh.. Sad..
so, each person/player are different and we all have our own styles.
I wish i could put 3 Focus III xD
My intel.
I guess 1 Focus III, 1 Vaux C3 & 1 FLTR-XL could be great
In my case, I often goes Focus, Torrent, Vaux/Rieger
tho I have mates that mixes that up - at relies heavily on the active mods
meaning they can solo crack way larger ones than I can.
I wish Buying Stations work xD
with the mole, you can coop on the boulders between the 3 turrets
Guess, I'll wait 3.17.2
with the prospector, you can coop between 2 pros'
which is where ppl debates if you should bring 1 mole or 3 pros
Mole have Size 2 so.. it be logical that's a better option.
(yes I know the mole has 1 pilot and 3 turrets = 4 ppl)
yes, that is where the debate starts and if the S2 are really that much bigger than the S1
ppl have shown numbers, research, papers, and arguments
again back to play style
(the mole pilot can easily change down to a turret)
Yeah, i guess the more comfortable you are, the better it is :)
Well, thanks for the Advice :)
there's a little trick with boulder cracking, to move the beam around. Up to a certain color, you then aren't as efficient pumping power in. But if you move the beam you then start pumping the max in. It then takes a little time for that spot to dissipate the energy, where you can then charge up a new area. We feel we quicker reach the goal post.
if what we feel equals actual time... that is debated by physics (lol), math and heating metal
you'll see and hear oldtimers telling you to move in circles on boulders.
I Draw circles on them xD
I usually, in space, spin around them drawing a belt.
You're guaranteed to get a place you've not hit yet.
yeah, but my starting point has usually dissipated enough when I circle round to that spot again ..
pending, I either move the entire pros or I press g and move the turret .. sometimes I need to move the ship and not just the turret..
especially if I get in the red zone
kabooooommm...
beams loose energy over distance. So the closer the better, but that is also closer to the big bang
again back to play style
I feel SC is good at catering the different style. Move too much on the axis, then this effect comes into play. Move in the other direction, then this comes into play.
leave it to the individual how far they are comfortable sitting at. there's a high chance you can find a player saying you need to sit on the boulder.
oh look a penny
Does anyone have any clue how important role ship sizes will play in the future?
Thinking of buying a daily driver and pondering between the Freelancer or Constellation.
And by ship sizes i mean their ability to go through the jump gates, will that be important?
Morning
I bought the prospector and someone told me Iβd need to upgrade the mining head
Lancet is recommended
Thanks
What's teh best website for finding trade routes? I found a website last night, it directed me to sell at Port Olisar.....it didn't accept teh goods π¦

there's a few sites to check out
Ill try the 2nd one, I tried the first one you linked but was sad I couldn't give a departure station there
I'll save em all just in case tho, thanks bud
the issue with not accepting goods... did it still show up at the console, but you just couldn't click sell? Then they are full on that commodity and you'll have to wait. If it doesn't show up at all.. then I think that place doesn't accept that commodity and the website must be wrong/not updated to tell you to go there
Nah, they didn't buy it at all
https://sc-trading.kamille.ovh/trading/ it was this one
Told me to sell Scrap to Port Olisar
I ended up finding scrapyard on Daymar, so no issue there, but it did mess up the trade route
I think it told you wrong then, I'm not really a cargo trader, only tried it a very few times, but if it doesn't even show up as sellable then I'm pretty sure that station doesn't want that particular commodity
Yea, website was wrong π
I think the problem with cargo right now is around Vice, Kind of annoying you can only sell at GH or that one hidden terminal. It's also SUPER odd that the hidden terminal buys for much less according to the sites.
Vice is the only commodity worth selling in smaller amounts (in a starter ship). So if you're looking to make a big profit on the smuggling side (in a smaller ship), not ONLY do you have to deal with the potential for a CS, and PVP, but you can only sell in one location, which greatly affects stock.
I think CIG really needs to consider including more hidden terminals, where the higher the sec, the greater the risk and therefore the greater the profit... to some degree at the very least.
Whilst I agree that the vice aspect is too niche, the problem is static pricing. Copper is never going to change, regardless of if there is a drive in electronics productions in Yela. So there is no point hauling it.
The price difference for abundance and demand just isn't enough too to make it worth while, and those demands don't change.
Add in hauling missions, like medical supplies to Crusader.... And you start to see healthy need for hauling.
Oh but that'll change with Quanta
We'll start seeing bigger shifts in prices as that rolls out. It won't be HUGE by any means according to CIG, but I'm hoping that commodities that are near each other in price, will see some overlap if not incur gains and losses enough to pass each other in terms of profit.
What I want to see are times where it's actually less profitable over time to mine things like Quant over something like Lara
it might mean you have to bore into your profits more at the refinery to get those quick gains, but that gameplay loop would be hang more around capitalizing not only what you're mining but when to sell.
Sitting on orders until prices went up would be a great idea then
π π
how do i find things i can mine in space?
There are several places, but the Aaron Halo is probably the best location - as it can not be reached by markers, you will have to break quantum at the right place to get there: https://cstone.space/resources/knowledge-base/36-refinery-to-aaron-halo-mining-routes
im at HUR L2 refinery right now trying to buy a mining head. Is that not possible here?
does the shop terminal work?
it looks like they are off
there is a bug with some of the shop terminals currently (working in 3.17.2)
I know that Tammany and Son works
at Lorville
^All the refinery shop terminals are broken in live
so i cant mine?
!itemfinder
Use the website to search for any item (and where to buy them) in-game.
Gotta question for my space delivery guys out there: I mainly run deliveries and bust bunkers. My daily driver is a cutlass black but I wanted to trade in my cargo space for something with a bit more fight.
I bought a warden but may have gone overboard π .
Basically in my mind I want a fighter with solid stowage and space for boxes. I feel like I'm just describing a titan but was hoping for something a little cooler lol
Next step up would probably be a Connie
what happens to cargo when u store your ship/ log off
c2 3/4 full of med supplies @crimson oak
You have to store your ship for cargo to be completely safe. Bed logging is not recommended with cargo.
yeah it will be fine then, assuming the above, proper station/city storage
properly prepared for NT i see!
ok thanks
someone tested the mole in ptu if it works again ?
Hey just to let you know, I bought a cutty black and roc. What am I suppose to do now?
What planets are good for roc mining?
This video will step through the process of R.O.C Mining - vehicle mining.
ty
Ime the warden is hard to beat as a bunker buster. Enough shields and firepower to take out turrets, tons of stowage, and can fit a 1 or 2 scu crate if you wanna really goblin-out
I'm slowly getting acclimated to it but you're right. After upgrading the shields and the weapons to laser repeaters, turrets didn't even make a dent!!! I just wish it was a bit smaller to fit right up to the bunker ramp.
Yea itβs a little chunky but I find landing just to the side with my rear angled toward the entrance works well.
Pisces is another great choice but it will get eaten alive if there is more than one turret. And you lose the bed
do the criminal deliveries give crime stat on completion?
Tomorrow come the Nine Tails Lockdown, be sure to participate and earn reputation. This reputation will translate to more starting aUEC for your character after the WIPE of the game. Last time for the 3.15 Wipe, it was about an extra 100K to 200K aUEC. I think I got about 120K extra aUEC for my toon on the restart.
?
since when and where was it said
No, it should not, you should earn reputation but no CS
What said? The Wipe or the extra aUEC?
what else other then aUEC would I care about?
idc about wipes as long as I can get aUEC
you're speaking to me like I know who you are, what you care about ....
if you come off as an asshole, I guess I'll let you think I'm feeding false info. so that works just fine for me.

For others interested, the last time they did a wipe and gave extra aUEC for reputation, that is what it will be like
i mean it was a genuine question but I guess you are shallow
thats all I cared about thanks for the link
being called shallow by you sort of reminds me of being called ugly by a frog. Fun stuff, nice way to enter the chat sport.
ok cool story dan
Dope ty sir!
quick question, For cargo missions am I suppose to move the items from the large container into my ships inventory then go on to delivery the items or am i suppose to take them in the large container? (only options for the large container is to loot )
this fucking game
I just spent the last hour, on 3 delivery missions all going to the same places. Set up a route picking up multiple packages at the same location, and delivering 2/3 contracts to the same location... and ALL of that... just to have the game take a shit on me and not accept any of the packages I was attempting to deliver
so fucking annoyed
Sad day, with the wipe coming I let my last refinery jobs finish up. loaded up my conni at ARCL1 with all the QT and items I needed and left for Everus harbor so I can play the events and screw around until the wipe
Weird to not do a single mining run when I log in
so im trying to do a investigate wreckage claim mission. it says deliver black box t o area 18, but I am at space port and have no clue where to put it
both objectives are checked off but the contract isnt complete
You're looking for the Covalex shipping machine map_area18
It should be at admin
Should be in ArcCorp tower
where that at
im right outside the city transit near the plaza
I ran into the big red buildings with the steps but I dont see a delivery terminal
this guy is not even responding
You're looking for one of these
Oh wait, I think at Area 18 they're at the space port, next to the elevators to the hangars
ok
I found one near the fleet manager terminals but it says request not found
@ember grail
are you sure the blackboxes go here
Oh, if it's a blackbox, it needs to be dropped off with the Admin officer, but he's currently bugged
List of bugged missions here

I didn't read your original question close enough, I should have recognized that

first all in trade run. 237k profit and super short jump
i always do half, ive seen too many veteran players risk all in and lose everything, then act mad like they didnt know a 30k would or could happen lol
Right
But boring)
30k isn't the end all, since there's protection now, and it should work
30k protection only works if your inside the pilots seat when the crash happens
Works 50% of times
can't seem to get more cave contracts to spawn
Might jsut be the region your in. Try hopping to one of the other systems and check around there. I believe Crusader, Hurston and Microtech are the better ones for it, not sure now many caves ArcCorp hase in it's vicinity
currently in hurston and yeah only got 1 this hour
I reccomend Microtech then
gonna check it out now ty
aye MT/Crusader is good for caves
appreciate it
aurora box when
Well, considering the Mustang just got it's cargo box, should be too much longer
Worked 100% of times for me in a ship, and not ROC related (which always fails). But we all know YMMV.
The heartbeat interim fix has done a good job, while it does not cover for client crashes, it works really well for server crashes
can we purchase mining gagets in this patch?
yes
if i want to upgrade the mining drill, what stat should i look to increase?
where refineries are bugged?
so i was mining quantum and my ship loss power. i was in the ghreen the whole time. what happened?
i can get the hud back but it will not fly.
Wired , that's what usually happens when a rock explodes damaging you
huh maybe my hud bugged out?
also lets assume the rock did blow up. is my ship fubar?
depends how close your ship was to the rock... there's a mining attachment called "lifeline" which helps with the damage, and upgrading your shields will help too.
@undone socket you can purchase anything mining related at shubin inside New babbage. Upgrades, mods, and gadgets.
Good news is the refinery terminals are fixed in 17.2 ptu
Hi guys, wanting to get into hauling and considering buying a Hull A. Any specific reason I should not other than the cost?
It's not as good as the Freelancer....
Which can be rented in game.
Only upshot of Hull and other cargo box types will be loading speed, which isn't in the game yet.
You're buying with real dollars or aUEC?
its only sold in real dollars, not sold in game yet.
If I was going to spend real dollars, I would probably get the freelancer max because not only does it carry more cargo but it can also carry to ROC and do more things
I do not see trade being a viable option for small carriers until about this time next year
CIG hasn't said, but the Hull A could be available in game store this next patch
Probably a decent while, 3.18 maybe?
here too bruh
Thanks.
Is there a βbest placeβ to mining?
Two best places
Lyria and Aaron's Halo
mining vendors.
more processing time=more yield?
pretty much
from what i noticted for my purposes dinyx is the best deal
what are the trading tools for space trucking?
!tradetools, https://uexcorp.space/, and https://tradein.space/#/trade/route-finder/default
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
Ferron exchange is best rate for reward. The difference between ferron and dynx is 10k per full prospector load(and takes an extra 12hrs)
ok good to know. thank you
holy moly red wind dumps some stuff on you doesn't it
can you do several of them at once?
Fatlancer overall better. Biggest plus of hull a: it can be spawned on blue pads
Yesterday bought it back
Done couple of flights
Gets blown away with wind horribly when taking off mining facilities on Hurston
But because it has same hp as terrapin it doesnβt care at all
Literally I was dragged on the ground and bumped into buildings - 5 auec repair bill
Also cozy af, best small ship, gold standard+
as a big big fan of the constellation tarus i'm praying they make a corsair with extra space. i need a big multirole that doesn't look like an angry goose
YOu can mine Quantainium in a rented prospector, but you wont be able to crack too big a rock with not much quant inside it
Platypus
You shouldnβt
Itβs like eating soup with a fork
I'm not saying you should, I'm just saying you can
How big are the Quant rocks on Wala? They good for solo?
Planet side quant is only really possible sole with a fully upgraded prospector or mole. You may stumble across a 6k rock that you will struggle to break otherwise
time frame wise when do we expect the patch the reason I ask is I have been mining to get money as a new player and if we are being wiped then there is no point until it resets?
yes, no point to play right now until the patch drops, probably soon after the free fly ends on July 18
thanks
Right now. The only thing that makes sense is grind bunkers, delivery, or bounties. This wipe we get to keep reputation that we have already earned. So grind rep and be ready to make money after wipe
Or do like we were doing and just be a pirate lol. It's more fun ;)
That's jsut it, I'm already ready to make more money π
I mean you can...but you don't get to keep it lol
Anyone mining in the ptu?
no, didn't have enough credits to buy a roc
Hearing reports of quant refinement being 25% of payout. Which is absurd, wanted to see if anyone was doing it
seriously?
If its true. Quant mining is basically dead. Would make a full load worth 180kish.
well hopefully theres another AV glitch at some point π they need to stop nerfing our ability to earn aUEC until the dynamic economy is up and running, then go ahead and do what you want to balance it.
I would rather see them lower the timer. Or increase possible interdictions.
looking forward to mining missions so other ores are more valuable
This is fine.... If they reduce the hadenite mining profits.... Why bother mining quant when hadenite exists
quantity
only so much hadnite in most cases where quant can be found in larger ammount
At 180k per load, you might as well mine bexalyte or whatever the 2nd one is. 44/scu. No timer.
I can making over 200k in a single load of hadenite and I don't have to refine it
i mostly get hadenite from cave missions easier than using a roc even
See, that's what I like about ore mining....
You do stage 1 until you're tired of it.... Then move to stage 2....hauling.... Which I love doing....
It's a happy little bonus.... But if you can jsut mine gems and make significantly more..... Something is off....
Especially with the price to entry on ore mining...
Isn't it about 30k ish to rent a ROC and Cutty?
roc rental is about 4k per day
don't even need to rent a roc just hit up the caves with a multitool
32k for cutty? maybe
I have walked out of a cave with 280k worth of hadinite between loot and minning with muti tool .
I'll get on the ptu after work and see if anyone in global is up to mining yet.
I have been wanting a prospector for so long but haven't made enough yet, new to game. If they are dropping the value of quant well, there goes that.,
never felt quant was overvalued for the pain of getting into it
it should be paying 500k+ per load just with the risk
expecialy with refining cost and transport cost to where you can sell it
When it can possibly take hours to find a rock actually worth mining(I know not the norm, but can happen). I don't see it overpriced at all
Yeah if anything I felt they should raise the price for the other ores a little
ya other ores should go up slightly
i need to find something else thats more time efficient
they really need to figure out how much auec some one should be able to make per hour max.
and also adjust prices on items to better reflect earning rate
I think if they had more players per server it would be OK. As you would have a much higher chance of being pirated.
true
have to see how that balances out with server meshing
and with current minning and cargo proffits it isn't like you can afford hiring protection.
Like I said, instead of massively nerfing quant price. Lower the timer to 10mins, and increase ai interdiction chances.
Makes it more dangerous and less likely to land with 8minutes left
Stuff has changed from ptu to live so I'll just wait & see what happens
also ptu is still wave 1 got a while before it goes to pu
they did a small patch on it already but still wave 1
and cargo right now profits are really low unless you have a c2
can't wait till cargo is physical and more systems, def getting a hauler at that point
space truckin
really going to have to up profits if they make loading take that much longer..
it's an afterthought at the moment tbh I'm sure they'll rebalance once they get to the whole thing
Lots of rebalancing will have to happen before beta release once they get all the core features in game.
Lold
When you master it itβs just time consuming
No risk
Still should be prospecting > ROC mining for the majority of ores.... Not just 1....
On an hourly basis... As you have to pay to refine then risk hauling
Hello Citizens. May I ask for directions for a Greycat Industrial TruHold Tractor Beam Attachment? I don't seem to be able to find it in Tammary and Sons on Lorville π¦
Easy answer, is don't buy one.
Got to the Hurston mining centres and loot them.
loot? From whom?
Loot boxes in the buildings.
Grey ones.
Good for multi tools, med guns, food, drink and Ratana Dung
Cheers Mate
De nada.... Look out for the red boxes too.
Easiest way is to throw everything you want into local storage.... Jump in your ship and load up.
The tractor beam attachment can be hit or miss in the Grey loot boxes. But I have not done the Hurston sites.
And how do I loot them? They are all non-interactive object
There are some that are... Longer boxes... Not always there.
Light grey.
Check the corners and under things....
Found 1! Thanks π
A great source of free stuff....
If a transfer all button existed, I'd go into the fruit business
@rugged axle i did not find the same info as you
on ptu
about quant.
lol so i suggest unless first hand knowledge maybe don't scare the masses here.
If they got scared when I clearly stated "rumors" and "I don't know"...
I was asking if anyone was to the point of mining in order to check the rumors.
But sure.
Thatβs good news
the fact that I can't complete simple delivery missions is fuckin mind boggling
I wouldn't bother with box delivery missions, their hit and miss as it is π
was tryin to build up some rep
but that shit is nigh impossible if it's not security
I just got myself an Freelancer Base.
How viable it is to smuggle dope in SC?
Or is there other stuff i should be hauling?
probably better to haul something else. While flat aUEC earned is higher selling vice, the real problem is stock availability at terminals when buying/selling.
Thanks for the info!
Daymar. If you want to spend the money on a Pembroke hazard suit, Aberdeen is a bit better.
im in a undersuit
but thanks mate
go to all the mining outposts and look for rectangular red boxes with grey lids
they have random armor
alr
Iβve been mining in the PTU, no different than LIVE. One Prospector load was about 275K aUEC
Mole?
Sounds good @north oyster
Was contemplating pledging a prospector, so I'll go ahead and do that now lol
I also have a pledged Prospector also, it's a key factor in my bounce back plan to wealth
my plan is to handmine -> rent cutty+roc -> prospector -> 890j
I even have an LTI ROC with my Taurus that also counts
That is actually a solid plan
Our Plan ...

one of my favorite SC videos out there
bruh this is beautiful
it's my SC story for sure
Is the mole pretty much broken until 3.17.2?
k i hadnt used mine in ages and i couldnt suck up anything or see inventory.
yup, it's borked to the death atm
bummer, well friend and I at least had some fun 2 manning it.
i know.... I bought Mole at the start of .1, kitted it out and never used it. Now will be wiped
It cant collect rn, yh, but it can still defo break stuff down π
sad miner noises
S'all good. Mole stays out in the field breaking stuff down, a prospector comes along to scoop it all up
It's what I'm planning a mining event this weekend around
its so wierd, and I know the answer. but HOW can a small incremental patch not get pushed to fix that
lol
Would mean a halting of servers, everybody gets kicked off and has to load a patch and verify files
If you start with fragmented publishing, you'll end up doing it for all bugs that cause big issues...
good idea, I have a Prospector, maybe ill do that
Many releases is bad....
ya agreed
they;d be releasing hotfixes daily :d
BUT target the more important.
Hot fixes are only really relevant for system that can't afford downtime
Assign 8 people to 2 Moles, 2 people to two prospectors, maybe a handful of scouts/security. With 15 people you could have a continuously running mining event
I'm not saying all the ships have to be yours
yeah im hoping to join some mining ops after wipe
For this, would I go Helix on the Prospector?
no point now, or maybe for practise
As the prospector would just be doing collections, I would use a Helix I with 2x FLTR3 modules. Decrease the about of inert material that's collected so the ship can scoop up fore of the food stuff
That sounds dope
Me too
@topaz burrow @hollow sedge Try and find one before the wipes when everyone is still got money and upgraded ships π
Dang do most of you have pledged prospectors?
I used to but upgraded prospector to Corsair as I have the mighty Mole
I have an orion pledged so I get a prospector and mole
Nice. Need any crew for orion π
I decided awhile back to pledge the Prospector because it was core to my fleet goals and it prints in-game money
One day I will need crew for the orion but I got it since it was cheaper than buying the mole prospector and expanse and dose the same job
Yeah makes sense. It's going to be interesting.
I went with a very industry focused fleet
Expanse is promising, they need it to work so they can bring in the Orion
Same I'm all for industrial work
I am hoping the Liberator will grow just a little larger
For the Hull series I stopped at the C
I wanted the challenge and we got a couple of Hammerheads and a perseus in my org
GIB Corsair
I want the hull c already
Gib orion π fair trade.
Canβt wait to see if she shows up in 3.18
The Expanse is how CIG will learn to bring the Orion to life
Iβm on an iPad atm, what website is used to show fleet? I canβt recall
This one?
StarShip42 is a Star Citizen Ship and fleet viewer for Star Citizen models
Thanks, doesnβt look like I can use it on the iPad, I need to print out my fleet one day
Welp, I added a prospector to my list of pledges
You added a money printing machine, congrats
Yea. 17.1(I started a week before it dropped so I don't count 17.0) showed me the only 3 game play loops I enjoy are bounties, mining, and being a criminal lol
Do you have a ship for cargo delivery? Which you can always rent until then
So I have my titan, which I can do bounties in for now. And now the prospector
I dont. But figure I'll just put like 10 work orders together then rent a cutty and take them 1 at a time
Until I can afford a Connie most likely
any verified info from the PTU on how mining is changing in 17.2?
Not a fan of the max tbh. Rather do a Connie.
I had a c2 in 17.1. But don't like that it's only use is literally delivering. Andromeda in 17.1 I could do just about anything in
MAX is the cheapest SCU per aUEC going atm
I upgraded my LTI Mule to a Hull A this week
Max is what? 2.xish?
Yeah, I have the andro as loaner for my Corsair
Yeah, about 2.2 ish
Ah, good ship Bacon
Yea. Andro was like 5.8 I think. But I love that ship lol
I also have the Taurus, great for delivering
 good lad.
I did figure out, the 4 pads at space stations in 17.2 are basically "free pads"
You don't have to request landing, they won't impound you. And can rearm/restock. Makes it a quick turn around
If hauling becomes viable, I will probably CCU chain to the Hull C, since it seems it will arrive before the B.
I love my cutty Black, but have my eye on the Vulcan to play AAA roadside assistance in space
Hull c won't be able to land planet side if I remember right only a and b while loaded
that's what I've assumed. We're going to need vehicle tractor beams for the handoff, or the large merchantmen unloading at the orbital stations and the little guys get paid to shuttle it down to the surface
Be really cool if they make space elevators
Guys, I know it's been asked many times, but I don't know where to go anymore. How do I get into trading with C2?
thank you. I'm looking through it, it seems the best is med stuff, right?
Commodity meds is a good one to go with but look through all the options there's a few ways to go
Iβve gone back and forth on deciding pledging a prospector or a hauler. I am not good at bounties (maybe I just need to practice). I like mining and carting things around BUT I have limited play time. I havenβt found much in the game that I can login, do something for a hour or so and log out. Bed logging for my is practically a necessity.
I upgraded my titan starter to a nomad and use it to haul a roc currently.
Right now you will just want Learn the ropes because of the pending game wipe. To me, the best trader in the game is Jack Axton. He has a YouTube video from about 6 months ago that is still valid. It covers every commodity and profit. He walks you through the process of building your aUEC by trade. The video is called trade refresher course.
Depending upon your starting aUEC after the wipe, it will help you plan out your trade routes
what's the best material to trade?
The clincher for me was rental....
You can rent a prospector and a hauler..... You can't modify either....
So which do you really need to modify?
Prospector wins.
Jsut remember to go into orbit when you bed log....
I miss my Nomad.... Mostly because it was the first big boy ship I got...
I wouldn't say there's a best material to trade right now, robust trade routes should use multiple commodities and stops
https://uexcorp.space/routes
Check this out.
Mining Calculator, Trade, Prices, Risks, Profitability, Mass to SCU Converter, Ships List, SCU, Prices and more
Bed logging is heavily advised against this patch
Twitchy as balls.....
Still worth a shot though.... As long as your aren't landed....
Another useful tool in addition to UEX
https://tradein.space/#/trade/route-finder/default
What's the worst people have seen?
With bed logging? Worst case is you have to character reset
Bed logging leads to 30009 which leads to character reset
Nothing bad then?
is renting a ship for trading possible?
Yes....I don't think it's a bad way.....
No need to upgrade the bits....
Hire a Freelancer or a Connie and fill it full of stuff....
If the Freelancer has a little cheeky upward nip in agility, it could be a cutty contender.... But I really like the Freelancer..
Jsut a bit sluggish...
Trading is just not super good right now.
Then again, it holds 20 ish more SCU.
In the time you can run some large trade routes you could do several bounties/bunkers for way more.,
and more action too.
When commodity fluctuations become a real thing, it might..
Only career in the game which punishes failure.
Apart from the bugged component repair thing maybe? If your have your mining head blown off..... Is gone... But you can work around that.
Very good point! Thanks
Or if you get sent to "login queue" like me every 2-3 hours.
makes it very much not fun.
All in though.... Nothing more tense than flying your entire wallet of vice into a legit zone.....
Dogfights have nothing on that.
yeah, the only time dog fights are exciting is when you have a crime stat 5 against real players.
it just doesn't ramp up the adrenaline the same.
Do you run?.... Duke it out?.....
I'm out of there
Always fight to the death.
Hide?...
Living out of Grim Hex I get so twitchy every time I enter/exit a hangar
Nah.... Something about evasion.... Anyone can fight to the death..... Its easy....
Running and succeeding.... That's the money....
I'm the guy sitting outside waiting for you.
One more question. What do you do after a wipe? Do something else to make enough credits to rent a freelancer then go mine in the prospector? Then rent a freelancer to haul once refined?
Well, I'm in this exact situation
You start with 10k, so you could buy a lancet mining laser.... I tnink....
Or.... Go to Aberdeen and mine other stuff....
Or wherever....
Sell it direct to the refinery for a few runs to earn enough refining money...... Fill the refinery with work orders.....
Then as you said, go do bunkers until you have hauling capital.... Then haul it.
After that.... Cry as your mate makes 4 times as much in half the hours ROC mining hadenite.....
My plan is to mine Aberdeen for.....
I keep telling people ROC mining Hadanite on Aberdeen is actually decent money.
Iβve been doing that in daymar
Yep..... But you need to pay out for a suit first, which is 15k...
Daymar is good.... If the nodes aren't bugged...
Yea nothing like finding about 6 nodes all bugged
I got tired of it.... There is something very satisfying.... Like making your own bread.... To ore mining...
Yes.... You can go to the shops and buy it cheaper..... But you made it....
Minded the ore.... Chose the refine method..... Hauled it all after filling up the work orders....
To find that..... Aldi's sour dough bloomer is just better and cheaper....
But damn it..... You didn't bake that....
Iβve never done ore mining so I guess I should try to get to 2 mill in game before I drop $155 on a prospector
Bite the bullet if not melt it and get something else π
Suddenly.... I have a $170 account....
You can get a Cutty package and ROC for exactly $170.....If ore mining is just really that bad.....
Could also rent in game.
Yea but canβt do quant since you cannot upgrade. I suppose I could mine something else
Get a buddy
If you trying it no need to mine quant. To get the skill ironed out and testing.
Bex is still good to mine
Indeed that is true.
dont buy a ROC with real money
it's literally 4k to rent one, and like 178k to buy it
you can rent it once, fill it up once, and literally buy one in game
pledge a cutty black if you want to spend money, but the ROC aint worth $50 or whatever they charge for it
I already have a nomad, no need for a cutty to cart one around
I wanted a C8X expedition too... That's $79....for reasons....
Eh, I don't judge. My pledge is a Taurus lol.
That's a DS.... Still the same in game price
until you spend like thousands of dollars, then I start judging lol
55 for standalone roc my bad
Try using a cutty.....
Going from pilot seat to ROC is world's apart
I loved my Nomad..... But getting out.... Running around... Then having it back up!
Package
Game too
Cutty starter package is 125 is something
oh I was thinking it was $100
115.....i can't remember
it was my previous pledge, but I couldnt remember
Will roc fit into an Freelancer Base?
Should do.... Might be toit
Might not be walking room around it.... Tonnes in a MAX
Ok.
Cutty is cheaper to rent than a freelancer base too
I already have an pledged FL.
I tried the Cutty/Taurus too but i liked the Freelancer most.
I totally get that
I need to try out the Max after the wipe though.
Havent really tried mining in SC yet.
I love the freelancer except for the cockpit. Everything else was great for me.
I know what you mean.
I like it, although the lower MFD's could be placed a bit better.
Go for fatlancer
love the Freelancer line but they're overdue for an update
like stepping into a SC time capsule
Tru dat, but the MAX is still one of my favorite overall ships, especially for ROC escort
I could see the Freelancer rework styling being similar to the Hull A
The Freelancer MAX is probably the cheapest aUEC per SCU ship out there. Besides a solid 120 SCU for Quantainium delivers, the ramp makes her great for ROC transport.
That's the double seater
Cutlass Black stand-alone is $100
Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
regular ROC is $55
Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
I'd never pay cash for a ROC, though
are all the refinery store screens bugged?
yep all bugged
when you claim a ship you always lose all upgrades like the mining head etc?
you should keep the mining head but will lose all mining modules on claim
best to purchase all your modules with a cargo ship then move them to your mining home base
oh that's rough
Raft
thanks, this will be handy
I've made a stupid mistake. Rented the Prospector for 1 week because I though, I could update it with modules and better mining laser. Turns out: no rented ship can be modified at all. So yeah.. that happened. Any idea what to do with my rented Prospector, other than let it rot in the hangar? π
Take it out with a friend, you can still crack big rocks
Not a stupid mistake.... You can still mine Bexalite etal
hello
Any tipp, where to find Bexalite with a high yield rate?
Aberdeen has some I think...Not sure if the rocks are fatties or not....
I plan on going there after the wipe, other than that, I don't really know
If it makes you feel any better, you'll have that prosp wiped before the rental is up
Fly around, crash into bounties
Pro tip Mate!
go to Aaron Halo. Rocks there have max mass of 5122 and you will be able to crack them (not Quant tho) Just look for P-Type and M-Type asteroids for Bexalite and Laranite
When I rented Prospector I didnt even bother refining them, just sold raw ore
Will, do but right now I'm at work! π Will get you guys up to speed when I'm done ! π
I tried rented prospector (just stock prospector after reset) - itβs similar to eating soup with a fork
you can find all sorts of ore in aarons halo as well, bexalite and laranite fairly common.
Really should just start mining in the halo. Calliope works well but man the wind is way to strong.
Though been happy using my c2 to trade titanium. Wish my raft could pull better profits thoughπ
Are we allowed to post up other discord servers into likely channels?
Have a mining org one that does daily mining runs as a pack. Payment after the run..
Or is there an affiliated servers channel?
no. and org recruiting is against rules here as well.
It's not mine..... Thought it might help.... No major, I'll keep it to myself
Well the free fly event prospector saves me from having to rent one to try it out
Cheapest aUEC per SCU? No, the Max is cheaper than the RAFT, but there's not a huge difference (unless I did my quick math wrong, which can happen)
It's a great trainer and you can earn ok funds. Learn how to get to Aaron's Halo because currently the rental Prospector can crack larger rocks in space than it can on land
1.25 vs 1.30 while raft is 25 usd cheaper
Ok, we're talking about two different things
I'm talking aUEC, not real dollars
Also the RAFT a one trick pony
Both yes and no
After refactor itβll change
Because everything can be inside those containers
Troops, vehicles
Everything will change, I'm thinking it'll be about this time next year
Maybe

Yah I love the raft, but itβs cargo capacity is ehhh, and canβt do much outside of that.
I'm expecting the raft to be more viable once they implement loading times. It's expected to have a relatively fast loading time
I really want to buy it this fall at IAE. But I know there are better options. Wonder how loading times for a C2 will work with how large and easy to access the cargo hold is.
It's speculated the C2 will have a relatively longer loading time since the cargo bay only has 2 access points and the cargo grid is stacked rather high
Good to know. I made enough in game to get a C2 a month ago and love it but now know with the refactor it may not be great when it comes. Overall how cargo ships are loaded and unloaded will be interesting to see
anyone down to teach me the ropes? I played a bit yesterday but didnt get around to my 1st mission yet
is it possible to dump materials from prospector?
Anyone having issues with the refinery?
what ya wanna know?
do the yellow covalex crates have any use?
Only when you have quant in the hold, and it dumps everything
playing with the mercury star runner, i don't have that much cash anyway so i can only buy about 200 scu of stuff at a time. was hoping to play space trucker and move stuff around for a profit. but how can i sell big quantities of stuff? the stations just want 50-100 scu at a time.
and that nets me a whopping 2k
ah ok, ty.
So stations will never need very much. Your better off buying a commodity and selling it to a planet like Lorvile CBD, ArcCorp TDD, Microtech TDD and Orison TDD dont go here, you will never be able to leave
@wise thunder look up either https://sc-trading.kamille.ovh/trading/ or https://www.gallog.co/ or https://sc-trade.tools/home . They'll help you optimise your runs, between the money you have and the cargo space.
Below 4000 profit per run, you're better off running delivery mission until your base funds are large enough.
So I mined some last night in the prospector and while I realize it wasnβt quantanium I donβt see how qt mining is more lucrative than hadanite mining. Am I wrong? Hadanite mining in a Roc is so much cheaper so the ROI is huge.
I mean, what was your ROI in the Roc?
The difference between the Hadanite mining with the ROC and Quantainium with the Prospector is the time factor. ROC mining is way slower
You average close the amount of aUEC per trip but you can make far more trips in that time frame with the Prospector
as with all mining rng if you get lucky you can make over $250K in 15 minutes with the Prospector. You can't do that with ROC
Got it. Thanks
Unless you have my luck and you can fly 45 mins in the Prospector without finding more than 2% Quant, but I have a good place to look now.
Prospector prints money but ROC mining is more enjoyable imo
Yeah ROC is pretty fun.
I love the scenery with roc mining
a couple of factors there but for the most part that amount of time is a skill level issue or a server issue
I wish you could change mining heads on the ROC. give it a bit mroe variety
Well I also didn't know about focusing the scanner. So that has helped.
But it happened to another guy at the same time so I'm thinking it was a bad server time.
!! yes, that super charged my mining in the Halo, was crazy good after that
After the reset my son will just be a dedicated rock scout so I can just hit rocks with the Prospector nonstop.
team work
It looks now that it won't be anytime until after the Free Fly (14th)
If I lend someone my prospector, they can't dock and put in an ore processing order, right?
Yeah I know the delay grinds me. Would have been happier not knowing.
correct, only owner
They need corporation entities/wallet/ships in game so bad.
I decided after getting hit by a bug that wiped my Quantainium loads in the Prospector, that I would just focus on the PTU and explorer there
if you do, there's a trick you should now about. When the new patch drops LIVE, then just rename your PTU game folder to LIVE and you're good to go
Ah, good tip. Would explain a comment someone made that didn't make sense.
save a good chunk of time even if someone has fast network connection.
@rose cove great to hear your son is also playing, that certainly would make it more enjoyable even with the bugs and glitches
Yep. We had a blast in the 2-man ROC the other day. We bond over a lot of games.
Though he almost got grounded for driving us right off a cliff. π€‘
LOL, ouch
I was livestreaming so I had to stay calm.
but that's they way boys drive, we did and just didn't get caught
Can you reduce the top speed on the ROC? I noticed it doesnt' work like flying.
right now the ground vehicles are really shotty. The accelerator is pretty much just off and on, nothing gradual at all
Thats what I thought. I was shocked there isnt a "driving" keybindings category.
they need scalable speed control so bad
I was getting actual carsickness with the jerkiness of it.
they worked on the hover type vehicles to get them smooth and functioning. Now they are working on the ground vehicles with wheels
With ROC, I always do the land near the deposit and try not to wonder across the planet too much. 2000 meters navigating in a ROC can be an intense trip
Yeah I have a connie so transport isn't a problem. Except if there is so much as a pebble under the cargo platform when I lower it the connie will bounce up like it was stung by a bee.
Same with the little light risers on the landing pad which is insane.
Its bad enough they surround landing pads with light poles.
I have the Taurus that I upgraded from my MAX. Now the first thing I do is buy a MAX in-game because it is the best for ROC mining in the game (imo)
I use my connie for hauling mostly now and have my MAX for ROC escort
I enjoy target locking the Cutty Blacks hanging around the ROC mining sites.
Like hey, want to play with a fully upgraded connie?
But I don't shoot of course. Don't want a crimestat.
I normally mine under OM-1 though I can see it getting more crowded there eventually because of the benefit
I'm not sure what a CB even has for armament but I'm pretty sure the Connie outclasses it hand over fist.
Thats almost exactly what I was guessing.
Ground vehicle speeds are "sort of" scalable with a hotas. But still not great
As an x56 user I agree
Takes at least an hour to fill a roc, and that's with good luck finding deposits. I was averaging more like 1.5-2 hours generally. Easier to sell for sure, just go back to mining outpost, 275k. But with quant mining with prospector, you find one decent rock that cracks well, full load, run back to station, start refining. It's also not uncommon, especially on lyria, to find clusters with multiple rocks big enough to fill up a prospector, so you can note the location and come right back to it. You can stack up multiple orders for refining in succession. I've had up to 20 worth 4 million aUEC at one point.
Yea that was one thing I noticed - just how fast it filled up. I need to learn more about it because I ended up with a lot of inert materials so I am sure I was choosing the wrong rocks.
So I've been using my constellation for mining and am thinking of changing out to a Valkyrie for the easier planetside flying. Anyone have any pro/cons to this?
roc mining?
I actually prefer Freelancer MAX. It's super quick to get in and out the ship with roc.
Roc mining yes but I use a Roc-DS so I need something with a bit more space.
i mean freelancer max will fit 3x roc-ds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhQn3BY45ZA
lol that's great. It would take so long to get those in sideways like that.
but thats just me, when im roc mining, i want my time in/out be as short as possible. Valkyrie is a beautiful ship
haha yeah, that's the extreme. It will fit one comfortably
I've watched videos and it looks like flying around in hover mode works really well which would be perfect for rock scanning. Then land open ramp and drive the roc-ds out.
@bright peak prospector mining, you want a rock >25% >4500 mass.
I personally mine the halo, and do a lancet head, surge module, and 2 fltr xl modules. Regularly get 28scu from a 25% rock. Any higher % is guaranteed a full 32scu.
DM me your stream info so I can dial in sometime
What's the route and material that makes the most money?
Trade isnβt in a good place right now. It favors only the largest ships. Astitine, titanium, gold, etc are best atm
Titanium from Belsek to Lorville CBD
Gold from Humbolt to Area 18 TDD
I just cleared half a million off of diamonds from a C2.
Laranite is the best, it caused a huge βgold rushβ several years ago. However, CIG turned on common inventory and killed the spawn rate and amount for Laranite to make sure it never rises again
Diamonds got neutered also, but occasionally you can get a load if demand allows
Everything will change by this time next year
Anyone using an MSR to haul cargo? The pledge store listing is calling my name.
Should have one for free atm if you wanna try it out.
is laranite the purple one?
wait no, thats hadanite
It's a good ship for cargo. Decent space and it flies well in atmo.
In this reference I was talking about commodities that could be bought and sold for trade. Laranite can also be mined but it's on the lower end of earnings for miners
Oh man....i miss my MAX
I have a Prosp pledged....i could just drop it back to a MAX... Be happy again....
How is the max? Worth it as a pledge you think
When you refine Qauntanium and it says it'll take say 22 hours, is that game time or irl
IRL
ooh damm okay thanks
I started with a Titan, CCUβd to the Cutlass Black and then finally to the MAX. Love that ship. Sadly, when it was only like $5 I did a CCU from the MAX to the Taurus. The Taurus is nice but really miss my MAX. Now I buy her in game first thing
Ferron is half the time but twice the price
Ohh okay I did the Dixon way as that is the way the guide said
Dinyx is the cheapest and best return, that's why the mention that. Ferron offers the same yield, twice the speed but twice the price
Ferron on Thursday Fridays and Saturdays and Dixon all other days of the week is what I do work schedule a little strange for me
I've just added another run, does it add to the previous run as I'm not seeing two runs of Quant, so I guess its been added to that first one. Ignore the other Quartz I didn't mean to
Each refinery job is its own run, not associated with any previous job. If you didn't select the Quan in your job, then it was disgarded
ahh shit okay thanks
Great shot
Any of you miners on the PTU know what the deal with refining fees on Q is about?
all i know is they apparently increased quant refining cost by like 25% or something
think Cross said it's the same price when he checked
how do people find quant rocks.. is it just flying around and praying?
Yep
Some people contract scouts
what a juicy rock well done!
Ids either this or the Raft... I know a person who worked in the RAFT, and really like the aesthetics
anything on the mole fix yet
Should be in 3.17.2
when that coming out
