having some trouble finding rocks to mine in my Geo, mostly tried around Daymar, anyone had success elsewhere?
this is new right?? being able to refine from station?
or am i just dumb
couldnt we only do it from the mining ships themselves?
fairly sure thats new
That is new. The bigger question is if you can collect to the station....
pings below 5km form ship are gems any other are big rocks
found a new decent hauling ship lol
Most of the L stations always had refinerys...
refined from the station not the golem is my point
I'm glad they tested the cargo modules on the tali
explosion
that was an absolute nightmare to get out, guess the rule is don't fill to the end lol
tragedy
is the argo raft rework already in the pu or is it just in a test server atm
pretty sure thats for .1.1
guys , i have a question , I have been trying to buy them mole but i couldnt find anywhere online about the max rock / asteroid mass that mole can handle solo... I am looking for bare minimum. I have tried the mole by renting it but the rental only broke till 9k rock mass
you generally need multiple lasers to break over 10k rocks, you might be able to do a loadout with reiger and surge that does more but it will depends on factors like resistance too
SO i have a golem , should i get a diferent ship for solo innig , should i go for mole or prospector is fine ? or is golem just enough !
I'm happy using a golem or prospector but I only dabble tbh, hopefully an expert will be along with a bit more info for you
Okay !
read the #sc-patch-notes
20k ish mass
This is just my opinion
The Golem is a maxxed out power, maxxed out window, Prospector. It's literally equipped with a better Helix, which is the powerful laser the Prospector has, plus the window bonus of a more stable laser and 2 slots for modules.
The cargo box on the side is big enough to hold 50 gadgets if you need them. Additionally, the ship is far more agile and responsive than the Prospector.
The only downside to the Golem, in my opinion, is that it is capped at 32 SCU, where you can 'bug' the Prospector into having more, although, that may change in the future, in either direction.
Given the price-point of the Golem versus the Prospector, there is no reason to own a Prospector unless you specifically want to mine Quantanium, and even then, the MOLE is better suited to that anyway
imo prospector is only better than the golem for full min maxing but its not much more mass you can get
for a solo mole i enjoy it much more than the prospector, the rental mole is bad and a prospector is better in rental due to just cost
bought mole can be made to crack 35k mass solo iirc and with a team just 3x that
thank you @past fractal @weak tinsel
I already have the golem for now so i will stick with it , and see if i want to put 8-10 mill on mole , coz that is decent money but idk in how long i can make that back with mole
mole is like 6mil max with upgrades
per hour solo?
no i mean prie range
and any specific ore
oh ok i was told it cost 8 mill..?
How much were you able to make roughly with a mole per hour …? from the work order estimate
oh nevermind 9mil cost sorry
no problem:)
not my pic (from reddit) but in PTU local inventory is now an option for refinery orders, yay
I wonder how it defines box sizes tho
@weak tinsel , could you answer this
yeah gimme a moment
plaing fps game
cscu = scu x100 if im not wrong….
no I mean what box sizes it gives you in your station inventory
it always tried to make the largest size possible
mining per hour is not a good metric of money making
since finding rocks is rng, then also haul and sell time
but per run i usually get around 300-500k cuz im lazy and not pick best rocks and it around 45min
thnx , this helps a lot !
if you were to focus and try a little bit harder than me you can make that much faster
Generally, just focus the higher value materials in whatever rocks you find, and can break. Try to avoid picking up anything that sells for less than 1k per SCU
If you got, say, 67scu of good
It'll make 2 32scu, 1 2scu and a 1scu box
What's the estimated time frame for this 4.1.1 update I just want to make sure I'm storing all the ships manually
hows the Hull C working after the maintenance?
Nobody knows when 4.1.1 will go Live. Right now I think it's only Wave 1 PTU.
They've been aiming for monthly-ish updates so. Probably end of next week at the earliest?
Last Thursday or Friday off the month has been the pattern for the last three or four months now
However we expect this to be the ILW patch, and they have started PTU relatively late in the month
Would not be surprised if the patch drops a week or two later
When it actually does go live however will depend on it's stability. They may want to do patches at the end of the month, but they're not likely to do that if it's going to totally screw up the PU and prevent everyone from playing, as an example.
Really? Every one of the last four patches have had some degree of issues in release, and then it gets hot fixed over the next few days.
Any of the hot fixes today actually address planet mineables or are they still broken?
I'm not saying they aren't making progress, it's way better than it was a few months ago. And I'm sure part of it is needing more people to test than that get in the PTU. But they will certainly release patches that still have major issues, they do it every patch
How do I scan for and Identify Ores in a Golem?
I’d like to know this as well. I haven’t been able to use my geo since the update.
I did some mining at Wala earlier and it was fine.
I did make the mistake of going out with a Mole that, while not full, wasn't empty either, so my first mining trip was short and I ended up doing some space mining after that.
hi can someone help me mine with my golem
Is there a Vtol deploy only and retract I'm only seeing toggle?
Any reason why half my cargo grid on my ship stopped working? LMAO
i know its a bit late but how may i help
Anybody have the Hull-C?
Tomorrow i can play its very late now
do i risk submitting this?
everything is delivered, but it didn't complete the contract
do you have much rep to lose ?
would prefer not to
well then dont risk it imo
i dont do cargo but i know that if you submit broken quests it resets rep
but abandon or server hop which is equal either does not make you lose much or lose a little
just gonna relog
I have submitted loads like that with no issues as long as a large percantage shows as delivered you should be fine
if it shows a low amount or zero then yeah just abandon or relog
I only use the word 'should' because you never 100% know with SC but I have personally abandoned 100s of bugged missions and submitted dozens of partially completed (as long as they show as such) and have never lost any rep and I have made it 3/4 through senior both before 4.0 and since
Worked fine for almost 4 hours of mining last night
Pyro or Stanton? (I heard Pyro was long-term in much better shape and most problems occured in Stanton)
stanton.
Was mining Taranite Bexalite and Gold (and some quant) on Microtech.
got almost 600k from 4 Golem runs to sell later today.
So I got a prospector hoping for some easy money, went to an astroid field in Pyro but everything is "impossible" - what do I need to do? I'm guessing upgrade various parts, but I don't have much aUEC yet
What laser are you using and what modules are on it
Just whatever it came with, entirely stock
Could just be some good luck, probably your components.
Could also be if you're not in good range.
oh yeah you gotta upgrade it
What parts would you suggest?
stock it might do 8-10k mass rocks, but pgrade with a ddifferent head and passive modles it'll to 14-19k mass rocks all day.
for more beginner, if you carry a few gadgets with you I run the Hofstede S1 with a Reiger C3. that will break typically 9-13k mass rocks pretty easily, depending on resistance (can lower with gadgets). For a more advanced build (and you have tot work with it cause of the optimal range) the Helix I with a Reiger C3 and either a Focus III or a FLTR-XL.
that can break 13-19k mass rocks all day depending on resist values.
anything above 15-16k I don't typically aim for cause one of those and you're heading back to the refinery for offload.
I personally use a Golem witth the Pitman (bespoke/unswappable head but itt's 90% as good as a Helix witth better optimal distance) and a Reiger C3 and Torrent III (to get the optimal charge rate back up).
also mining planet side is now working and you will have a lot easier time finding breakable rocks
asteroids are most of the time either really big or really small
Yeah I only do planetside mining. Both solo Mole and Golem
(Have a in game prospector too but it just collects dust right now lol)
Don't suppose they made it so you could refine to your station inventory though yet have they?
PTU is testing that afaik
Nice
I don't mind refining directly from my mining ship. But being able to STORE locally is gonna be huge
This kinda starts going down the road of leak discussion, bubt what if thisse refinery rework is setting the tables to be able to use refinery ships like the Misc Expanse
Arastra is going to be here sooner afaik
but imo no its just them being lazy and not doing it as soon as cargo refactor came out
ah
cuz the store to ship is a relic of how it used to work
The ship I feel we need mining wise would be a Argo or maybe a Misc, smal to medium pad, solo ship with a size 2 head and 64scu capacity. that would be absolutely perfection (pilot controlled S2 laser).
ahhh
and tbh i dont see a reason to add a between ship from mole to prospector
Is the reclaimer worth it? Im at like 25m Right now and dont know if i should get it next. How much Money can i get with it
solo its hard to manage, money is the exact same a vulture but you have something like 1000SCU storage
you need are Argo send me a Dm 🙂
Ok
Where do you guys go to sell your Contruction materials? and how much do you sell in one go?
Check sc trade tools for locations, avoid Orison because there's a lot of people doing the cover-up missions at Yela and it's over supply
is hadanite no longer mined with a roc?
nope
only by hand
or ATLS Geo in low power mode
I will say it's hard to find it on the surface of a planet now
you're flying along and all of a sudden there's an unknown like 100m in front of you lol
UEX Corp is also a great place to check
Is mining a good way to get alot of money?
yes, if you enjoy mining
Was looking at getting the golem been doing alot of bounty hunting some fancied a change of pace
and rocks just broke again on microtech.... GREAT JOB CIG
We had a great ROC mining session on Ignis in Pyro last night. I am hopeful Stanton mining be patched up okay also.
Was supposed to be fixed on that god awful long maintenance yesterday.....
Do you mean Roc mining or the Mole type?
planetary mining
mole prospector all of it
it was all broke
they fixed it yesterday then today it's now broke again
So sorry, for this free fly I need a good road test of the Fortune but that's a salvage loop.
I will say, the Cargo Career armor (Aril Blue) matches the Keystone liveries real nice 😄
are there any player-run mining/salvage companies i can join where they pay me to mine and supply the ship and stuff. If not i think its just a cool idea.
I could be wrong but I think its refine from storage - not refine TO storage which would be awesome. Refining from storage makes all miners open for attack when full as someone could take you out (soft death) then unlock your ports and take your ore - maybe even another prospector. Refining TO storage would be most excellent so we could either hold ore OR take only certain ores to sell at certain locations, which could increase profits.
nice paint
You can buy the Aril Blue armor in Orison fairly cheap in game
so, if quant comes from Q and E astroids most commonly, then what ring should i want?
Bands are primarily designated based on density, not prevalence. Generally speaking, you want band 5 since it has the highest density of rocks
thx
As someone who has a minute intrest in mining ( I'll get to it again once base building is a thing) tf is a band?
the rings
I want to use the FORTUNE but the free fly hasn't started yet???
Roberts Space Industries is the official go-to website for all news about Star Citizen and Squadron 42. It also hosts the online store for game items and merch, as well as all the community tools used by our fans.
pretty sure you just gotta click fly for free then relog
I didn't relog yet...thanks
Bands refer to the layers of the Aaron Halo. It is broken up into multiple bands, or rings, of content. Generally speaking, Band 5 tends to be the most populous for mining, as the band density is much higher than any other band.
true. I'm a glutton for punishment tho 🤣
Also I think I've figured out a loadout I'm pretty happy with for the Prospector..... Hofstede S1, Reiger C3 as default, and carrying some Surge and Stampede modules for if I come across a gem of a rock, plus my four normal gadgets (boremax optimax sabir and waveshift). Could also carry a FLTR and XTR for cutting inerts down when needed if I have some good stuff but want better filtering on the extraction
I can crack 11-14k rocks relatively easily with that setup, depending on resists.
You may find this useful with that approach, to decide if it's worth getting out to swap modules or use a gadget #industrial-professions message
Just mentioning in case someone has not heard, Golem scan/angle is ""working""
Visually you don't get scan angle, heat feedback, or emission values but you can pinpoint/read anyway.
yeah it just doesn't tell you numbers
which is annoying af
oh thanks haha, I was gonna make that tonight
0% resist calc is laser power divided by 0.2, correct?
Feel free to tear it apart and make it better! If you were going to make your own you probably know show spread sheets well enough to figure out what I did
yeah spreadsheets are ez
Yes, .2, or conversely 5x laser power = max mass
I'm gonna make one that I can have the lasers, resist modifier, and then put some average rock resists out witht mass and modified resist calcs, and a dropdown for gadgets for that specific rock as well.
Yeah, mine should have all of that in it
plus a reference sheet in it for some specific stuff about rocks for more info so I don't have to have 30 tabs open at once LOL
cool I'll check it out
hi, new here, about a week in the game and trying to use a prospector to mine on planet or in belt but i cannot get the mining laser intensity to change off of 5%, its keybound to mouse wheel but that doesnt change it and alt+mousewheel seems to control my speed, any ideas how i can get it to work?
Ooooh I like that sheet that'll def work. I'll add myself a tab for emissions data and maybe some misc info I want but yeah that's spicy
it should be scrollwheel. try unbinding it (click on the binding then right click to unbind) and then re-bind it to scrollwheel
IIRC bindings can get funny sometimes if you change things around. In my case I use a mini throttle axis on my right VKB stick for mining power
In fact now that I think of it 99% of what I use in flight minus some turret stuff is all on my sticks lol..........
tried that and also tried rebinding to keys not even used, and it still doesnt want to work
I think the default is a modifier plus mouse wheel now? If Alt is speed, maybe Ctrl? I didn't know unfortunately, I also have it on a slider on a stick
It should be jujst sscrollwheel
I'd try reclaiming the ship again, maybe take the mining head off and put it back on.
also make sure it isn't reading it in reverse for some reason, try shift and scroll wheell, alt, both right and left alt, right/left shift, right/left ctrl
another easy test would be go into scan mode and try there. Scrolling should adjust your scan angle (the lower right semi-arc)
if might not be recognizing something in your mouse wheel
yeah the scanning works, reset to default and still not working 😦 i just want to try mining lol
I remember during one mining session in a ship, it went from scrollwheel to alt and scrollwheel then back
rented one a few days ago and now the free fly one both have the same issue so im guessing its something with my mouse but scanning works
also no way in HELL are you cracking that in a prospector without some major upgrades to the head and some clever stuff.
stock laser stick to below 9k rocks
that's a weird one
make sure you don't have any other hardware or mouses/scrollwheels on a gamepad that could be interfering
i could try to rent a mole and see if that has the same issue, or maybe the little mining car
ive mined out prison a few times now though
the ROC should be alt scrollwheel IIRC. Sometimes tho it's just scrollwheel for me
there could be a bug with the bindings right now as well. That's a strange one I haven't come across
Would it work to jettison my mining pods for a cargo ship to pick up and take back to a station to sell? OR is that not implimented in the game yet.
did about 5-6 hours tonight with no issues.
yeah theres nothing on reddit and its driving me nuts trying to get it to work
not yet. souunds like maybe next patch that'll work
Ahhh. Gotcha.
should be able to mine that one right?
That you can pick up without fracturing
k that worked lol
See the arrow at the top of the HUD? That's telling you to switch modes. Also it's less than 10 SCU, so you can't fracture it again
Try cycling your ship's power (keybind U, and do while landed), along with cycling power to your mining laser on the power management HUD screen.
one of those should reset it. But do the mining laser power while out of mining mode after it fully retracts and says "mining mode off"
no luck on that
so basically i can just pick up rocks less than 10 scu at this point, fracturing just isnt working for some reason since i cant change intensity on the laser
are you sure you've tried all of the modifiers for scrollwheel? Left Alt, Right Alt, Crtl, shift, etc
I'd also try bed-logging in the ship and then quit launcher and re-load in.
or go back and claim the ship to reset it.
ill try bed logging and see, thanks by the way for trying to help
you're welcome
really want to do mining but kinda tough without a laser lol
if that doesn't work try claiming the ship. so fly back to the station at a pad (after offloading of course) then go inside and claim at the ASOP terminal
somewthing is wack
i was worried i was doing something simple wrong lol
could also be the Arbor laser is bugged right now, I use the Hofstede S1 with a Reiger C3 module
can i replace manually on a rental?
yes
i know i cant in the ship management thing
on rentals I always thought you could.... hmmmm
that's odd.
I'd try your freefly one as well
I own mine in game plus have a second as a loaner because of an "issue" per CIG from the mole with mining 😂
interesting
maybe it's the laser then.
relogging with my manual settings mousewheel up and down fixed it 🙂
sweeeet
instead of the default mouse wheel
very odd though, thank you all so much i really appreciate it, now i get to mindless mine finally 😄
mining is very very very addicting in this game lol
it's all I've done the last 4 nights in a row 😂
ive been doing hauling for money but saving for that hullc is a rough grind lol
I always focus on finding bexalite taranite and some gold (if the rock isn't too much of a b!tch with the charge window even with a gadget), and then refine everything I get (when extracting I look for sub-breaks that have at least 50% of the material first, then 30-40% of it if it doesn't have inert in them
I have swapped components on free fly ships via the vlm before
If you don't mind running around like a chicken with your head cutoff between pilot seat and laser turrets, the mole can be fun. I use it though mainly in pyro when I'm looking for bigger juicy rocks with stileron/riccite when I'm really on a roll. Normally I use prospector as my core miner though. in a 4-5 hour evening I can haul in 600k easily. (and keep in mind I'm not a quality miner but more of a mixed quantity/quality, I look for rocks with quality but will take fragments with 30% and no inert at times).
sell the next morning/day after refining then do it all over again.
Mole is more profitable, but can be a little tedious solo. Prospector is arguably more fun solo
only reason I have a mole is as a pledge CCU chain for the Ironclad
it's a blast solo but you HAVE to be in the mood for it
there's lots of seat swapping, landing/taking off witht gadgets, sometimes changing active modules or entire module loadouts out on your heads for a rock that you can't pass up, etc.
it's very busy running a mole solo. but if that busy is your thing, it can be a blast.
just cracked my first rock 🙂 how much more can the mole store, only reason id do that as solo is more room for longer runs
One really nice thing about soloing the mole is you can have each head setup for a different purpose
in 25 sessions I'll use my golem and prospector for 90% of them, and mole for like 1-2 sessions.
is golem better than prospector, i hadnt heard of that one yet
shouldnt say better in the game, should know that by now
lol
What he said. In my case, I have a heavy breaker head (Helix II with 2 C3's and a focus III, which can swap for surges or stampedes if needed), a normal breaker head (Hofstede S2 with reiger C3 and a torrent III for normal breaks and sub breaks), and a small/delicate/narrow window breaker (Hofstede S2 with a focus III and Torrent III).
i dont know what half of those words mean lol
I have my head setups a bit backwards, I run my helix heavy on tthe left side, with my primary breaker hof on the middle, so it's easier and more efficient. If I'm after heavy rocks mainly though I'll swap the heads.
Go watch Eugapole on Youtube. He has a TON of mining videos/tutorials and stuff about solo mole loadouts, and some eyewatering prospector loadouts that'll crack rocks most people wouldn't try to touch without a crew in a mole.
i will and thank you again!
two good websites I aslso recommend are Regolith and RedMonster.
Regolith is nice cause you can look at a ton of various data, save work order info/sessions, and whatnot, and redmonstter is the OG website from the olden days with a ton of still relevant info (he also has a great YT channel with good mining info)
For example, I started this run around 7:00 tonight, and finished up last work order setup at 11:30. I'll sell it tomorrow at NB for probably 640-660k IIRC based on current inflation prices
thats awesome, thanks again for all the help, glad i can finally give mining a shot!
*elguapoe btw
I see they fixed the mining bags in 4.1.1 does this mean we will be able to refine or have to store the bags to refine now?
I think they're still working on it since it's not been listed in the patch notes, from what I understand refining from bags eats them at the moment but remember PTU is where these things are tested so very much subject to further tweaks
Yeah but don't they have to be on the mining ship to sell/refine the ore?
I mean...Can you put the full bags into the freight elevator and into your warehouse, and refine it that way?
It seems like you can select the local inventory as a source to refine from now. Not sure you can use it as destination tho.
Seems like you can use it as a destination, yes
Do experienced hauling missions in pyro pay the same as the ones in Stanton?
from what i know hauling in pyro pays more overall
same with bounties
Bounty’s pay around a 100k more in pyro
So if hauling gets the same bonus it would pay way better then in Stanton
Thank you for the help Mr.Beaver
dont wanna @ but i know Fitzie does haul a lot and i think mostly in pyro
Boo! Anyone here with a mole that might be happy to toss me a copy of their bags to exchange with my prospi real quick? have to re-do my bag exchange. 🙂
This is all still P(T!!)U though, not applied to PU, yet, right?
ye only ptu for now
A pity. That shit needs to get to PU asap lol. Along with a fix for the "stuck on cargo grid" shit. 😄
@pastel sparrow the Junior missions in Pyro do pay more, up to 132k but they can be up to 300scu which is a bit much for the small outposts as you have to send them down in multiple loads. There's also multi location missions that pay 94k but they can be 3 locations 50-80gm away from each other so tbh you can earm more stacking missions in Stanton. But it is nice to see other locations and the places you deliver to are based on your affiliation to either CFP or HH.
Thank you for the information
I think I’ll stick to Stanton
Hi guys, I just started the game, and yesterday I tried doing chain cargo, hauling, and when I delivered multiple packages to the same destination, a few of them weren’t logged. Is this something that happens often? Is there someway to avoid it? Is it a bug? Should I just do one mission at a time to not have that risk? I spent 2/3 of my money renting a ship with bigger cargo space and only made back 1/3 of what I spent. Please help.
When i buy cargo with the hull C do i have to park at the end station get out press sell and then go back out and use the cargo system to unload it
afaik the cargo missions sometimes brake and idk how or if there is a fix
@hollow pewter this seems to be an issue with missions where you pickup from multiple locations and drop off to one, has been an issue since 4.1 I believe. The other way round, pickup from one location and drop to multiple or direct jobs works well 95% of the time!
Whats the best way to sell at a terminal when its high stock, wait on the main screen for it to change or on the confirmation page?
should i just mine quantanium
or what should i mine and where?
id like to stick with pyro but i doubt pyro has refineries nearby
The three main pyro stations have refineries and you can sell most stuff directly there
do u know how rare quant is at pyro
Check regolith.rocks
Hello, for moving 8 SCU the hand tractor beam is fine right. But for 16 I need something else?
Any can move any size but the max lift give great control with high weight but the atlas can lift all weight with extreme ease
Is there a way to automatically pickup/unload cargo for hauling missions or do you have to move it by hand?
for now by hand
Only the Hull C has auto-loading for now, but it's being worked on for all cargo capable ships eventually
in future they want to implement the other option as well - which will incur either time or money fee? I guess?
Pyro also has Stileron and Riccite which are also S-Tier materials like Quant. Unlike Quant though, they won't make your ship go boom. Generally, Stil sells for a bit more than Quant and Ricc sells for just a bit less.
i gotta assume these 2 are just as rare?
Correct. Looking at Regolith.rocks: most places will have at most 2 of the S-Tiers available. Adir is the only Planet location with all 3 nevermind, multiple locations have all 3, but rates are still generally below 5% for any given S-Tier ore type
All those rates are dependent on miners self-reporting their scans though. Could be lower. Could be higher.
For the best chances of all 3, if doing planet mining, you'll want to look for Felsic, Gneiss, Igneous, or Shale.
Shale may be the best option with its higher rates of Gold and Aluminum too. (Gold sells well and Aluminum is light)
Which makes the Pyro V moons Fairo, Vuur, and Vatra some of your better options if hunting specifically for Shale.
Disclaimer: I am still relatively new to mining. Take everything I say with a grain of salt and explore the regolith database yourself when you have the time.
Thanks Fitzie. I’m just gonna try to stick to doing one at a time, even if it takes longer, for now. Yesterday I lost money, and had little to start with. 😆
Stacking missions should still work it's the just the contract that have you collect from multiple places that have the issue
I’ll give that technique a try. What happens if I get down to Zero money? Do i have to delete the game and start over? How does that work
You just have to make money again
I have a starter ship only, for now. I dont know how to do “dogfights” yet, so I’m focusing on trying hauling, as I’m just barely getting used to the ship control. Is there some other way other than cargo to make money, for a complete beginner like me?
You can go to the free fly page (even if you own the game) and get the free ships for the 2 weeks
Then you'll be able to try salvage, mining, etc or do better hauling missions
Go to Pyro and do the inside the station box delivery missions. Literally 20k payout for walking from one side of the station to the other.
thats good to know
i tried mining before but with a solo mole setup instead of a prospector and never made it anywher
I'm just a solo Golem miner at the moment which vastly limits what I can crack, so i get it. Working my way towards a Mole with aUEC. Mining was my main jam in EVE Online years ago, so I've been having a lot of fun with the more immersive mining of Star Citizen.
I’ve heard of this free fly. Do I go to some site on a browser or is this something in the actual game. If so, teach me please?
Sorry to be asking so many questions
yeah just go to the site and click on 'fly for free' and that should attribute the ships (if you're in game you'll need to log out and back in.)

Awesome! Thanks!!!
varynais :D
Hello, does anyone knows why when i scan it shows the ping for the rocks but the blue outline doesn't show anymore, also i can't break them or deep scan them for minerals ( this is since yesterday) day before yesterday I was able to mine, now i can't
The hotfixes that addressed planet mining recently aren't working across all servers. Can try server hopping to find a shard that has working scans.
If in Stanton, you can also try moving to Pyro. Not a guaranteed fix, but Pyro has generally been more reliable than Stanton
Would be nice if we could get fixes that stick, but such is the nature of Star Citizen Alpha
I see, so my Mole is currently useless lmao ;-;
Can always hit asteroid fields. Those should also be more stable than planets, even in Stanton.
Oh, you're right, I always forget about those, since I rather planet mining, thank you !!!
100% agreed on Planet > Asteroid. Cluster sizes on planets are just much more satisfying
Hope you are able to find something that works!
I wish they would make asteroid clusters similar like ground clusters for mining
at least in the Halo and stuff
Are planet minables still broken in stanton?
Holy shit the Fortune is straight ass.
It just disappears 60% of the RMC.
Compared to the Vulture.
mined all day today on celling on the server i was on and now on a new server all the nodes are dead, it is a server issue?
First time I used the Fortune it didn't seem too bad but it feels awful since 4.1, I'm definitely melting it if something is with buying in 4.1.1 (certainly by ILW!)
I think the overall nerfs to salvage just make it so slow it's irritating. The Vulture is just about tolerable.
I think salvage has almost crossed the line to 'too slow' and 'not fun' or maybe I'm just bored of it
Oof I thought they'd fixed that. Yeah guess that server has issues
lol i just tried to land to bed log and it shot me into the universe, came back and all was well
Was watching a video on mining changes in 4.1.1, and I think I realized why Mole/Prospector ore bags snap to cargo grids the way they do: They are supposed to be collapsible, and they're snapping to the grid as if they were collapsed, but they aren't.
IIRC it was because the item port was at the top of the bag (snaps to top of ship) but on the freight elevator that snap point meant it was sunk into the floor, if that makes sense
So they've probably moved the snap points on the bags and ships to the bottom instead
To match the elevator platforms
does anyone know why my prospector has 0 scu of storage??
With the upcoming change finally to mining bags are we still going to be able to store the ship and refine it or the actual bags have to be detached and put down in the freight elevator? Also what does this mean for quantum if the bag is detached will it still explode and will there be a timer?
1st hopfully both
What happens when we mine quintanium then which bags are we going to know has it inside?
Does the timer on quant keep going even if you remove the bag/golem crate? Like if you dropped it off with a hauler do they have a bomb onboard?
Quant stops ticking while your ship is stored at least. Need to do a science experiment and wait until there's like a minute left and detach a bag. See if it goes boom
Like a cherry bomb in a toilet. BYE BYE STATION.
Been away for a few months, see there's new minables, currently working on some feynmaline. Is it worth it?
how long can you leave a finished work order in the refinery?
Typically until the next patch.
What mining modules are people using on the Golem?
just got into mining w/ a prospector, what head/modules should i use?
is selling cargo in pyro worth the extra profit or is it too risky?
this gap on corsair
no demand it seems
I kinda just started doing em. Trainee missions are already at 50k a piece and barely any scu. I’d imagine it’ll go up nicely
Do difference ship effect what mineable you see. Been using the Zeus and finding mineables everywhere. No my Corsair is strugglying to find anything on Aberdeen or Daymar.
anyone down to tech me hoe to use the hull c cant do cargo right or somthing
You're probably a bit too high off the surface in the Corsair just on account of it being a bigger ship
Get lower and slower!
Been trying low and high
Low and slow is the way
If you move too fast you'll miss them
I just go SCM and cruise at 1km and keep tapping the ping
ramp broke
Which Zeus ?
CL I suppose ?
Yes
CL has a buff to detect RS signatures
85% against only 50% for the vast majority of the ships, including the Corsair
Oh damn I better buy it back tomorrow. Melted it and my Raft this morning.
A lot of the Industrial ships have RS buff
Was going to just buy a Black in game to haul my Roc or Geo around
80% for the SRV, Prospector, Vulture, Fortune
85% for the MOLE and 100% for the MOLE mining stations...
Reclaimer doesn't
And some other weirder ships do too, like Hammerhead, 85% 🤷
Where can I find this info?
That's something you can check by ship on !erkul
• Calculator • Shops • Ships • Weapons •
Check the Radar
Thanks alot
does the ES too? I mean it's supposed to have the better scanner right?
Check Erkul. It has better IR/EM/CS, but not better RS
okies, I don't really understand the differences so I'll have a read up on it
But if that's the case and it's better for surface mining I'll switch out from running the ES lol
I had just assumed better scanner would detect more stuffs
The first three are ship signatures.
RS is cluster signature, mining, salvage, ships... all the RS stuff
How many SCU can you realistically fit into C1? I managed to get 101 into Corsair, maybe 110 if I tried really hard (trying to compare which one to use for medium contracts)
110 is easy enough, 3x32 in the cargo area, and 2x4 + 8 in the rear.
I think you can also stack more 4x containers on top of the 3x32
okay guess I will try 😄 But tbf the medium missions dont give any advantage over small cargo - i really hope they rework the system, its T0 right now right
Although I am afraid what if they dont change it, since the changes I would imagine are pretty "easy" to do
i dislike how hauling missions in 60-350SCU range do not give you 16SCU or 24SCU containers
I dislike that it goes up in size, which makes no sense
why should "senior" reputation "small" mission have 25 SCU compared to 8-10 for junior / rookie? Like idk... I would think the "senior" small cargo would be something very valuable, not just increased size
today managed to do this
i pressed collect on refineries but i dont see the scu crates
Hey yall, is there any real advantage to having a prospector over a golem?
I mean... the Golems laser is just slightly inferior to the current best (additional 25% resistance). But they carry the same amount of ore, the Golem has 2 pods where the prospector has 4 (faster unloading), and the Golem can fit in a lotta ships.
The are barely worth doing it... you can stack the small ones for 350k a run. Where the medium ones you can only fit 1 and 1 or 2 smalls.
Just less pain unloading lol
(Most cargo hauling doesn't seem worth it tbh)
I can fit exactly 112 SCU into a C1 in 8SCU size boxes.
NOTE: loading / unloading the reat section (between the gate and ramp) can fit 2 8SCU (total 16SCU) boxes but it is a bit more challenging to unload / load those 2
NOTE: this is just about the very max you can hold in the C1 unless you squeeze some into the crew area.
Loading this much into the C1 is still way easier than loading it into a Zues Cl as well.
is there a glitch with transfering cargo from refinery to ships right now? ive lost three full loads
Like cargo not appearing ? You just need to store and retrieve your ship until it shows
Well.. where to start.
this is akward
- the Prospi has interior with bed, so you can bed log during mining whenever, if you have to go or whatever. not a huge deal but underrated.
- the prospi can cheat the ore pods with the mole ones giving the prospector 80 !! scu capacity over the golem - which pods you cannot exchange.
The Golem is nice and has its place, but tbh more as a dropship for a mining group, to place a few of them into a polaris or the like and then mine as team by stacking filleed pods in the polaris.
Up to 96* SCU
well I had problems with 100 😄 ... since you cant move properly inside then, so I had to play the game of "moving the cubes to make space for me to walk to the doors and open them"
You can just use the Open all door keybind
Save yourself some trouble
Open from pilot seat, get into tractor beam, unload
How that?
The same way
Read that a few times but how do you get even more than the 80?
But with MOLE bags only
You bought MOLE bags and switched 4 MISC bags for them, but your 4 other bags were still MISC
Ehh o.O
Oh so basically do the first switch, then repair and then exchange the "over-spawned" misc bags with 4 mole bags as well?
I think so
the ramp on this gets damaged easily
Use the C1s tractor beam lol. You can't get out but you shouldn't need to after you load.
Also how the heck did you get 100 inside before you had issues moving? Anything above 64SCU and your blocking the exit of the C1.
(NOTE: C1 tractor beam is accessible from copilot seat and you will need to open the exterior from the pilots seat.) But I would always recommend using a ship mounted beam if possible as they are a LOT faster than hand held ones.
I did not know we can get 80SCU pods on the Prospector. That's a lot better than the Golem.
Well not officially but through tricks. Yes. That's why, even if they are technically similar, I'd always go for Prospector at this time.
Do the tricks still work in PTU with the bags adjustments to fit the freight elevator?
Huh- how do you trick it into doing that lol
Also as far as 1 goes... I don't consider it a plus. It's a feature. But I tried sleeping in space with a Zues CL before... lost the ship. Never tried it again. And realized this is close to pointless. When I end I want it to be with my last load in the refinery.
I mean i guess it's a plus if you REALLY need to go but
Now if we can fit 80SCU of ore into a prospector then fk the Golem.
Lol. I hope that's intended
Someone got the latest COvalex contracts that is willing to share me ? You,LL get half of the payment.
?
I just got the Golem. Do I go mine at Hurston area?
This is freefly just for new people?
Free fly is like a trial for new people to try out the game. Yes.
The ships i mean. I wanted to try a fortune
Anyone can try the ships, you just have to go to the website, click the free fly banner and the free fly button
Even if you have the game already
If you're playing you'll need to logout and back in for them to show on the ASOP
Ah ok. They are never very clear
Those tricks are a bit risky though, by using them you could, in theory lose the money later (or whatever you bought with it) and face a ban, if CIG decides to treat that bug as an exploit. In the worst case, CIG could even do another wipe if they wanted, though this probably isn't that bad yet.
Lmao ain't nobody catching a ban over that.
You guys talk about how to overfill prospector. Here I am having problems pulling out my mining laser lol
It's somewhat unlikely anyone will get banned over utilizing more storage since you still have to fill all of that storage normally. However, CIG could decide that it's not how they want it to work, and "fix" it at some point, locking the Prospector at 32 SCU, or 48 SCU with MOLE bags at a time, or might decide they like the increased storage and make 96 SCU standard on the Prospector, thus solidifying it as better than the Golem.
Right now, they haven't really spoken on it, so nobody knows.
well thats the issue - from pilot seat nor copilot I wasnt able to open exterior - the button didnt appear, even while looking directly at it
but didnt know about the tractor beam, thx
Mining in the MOLE on lyria. no rock responds to any power put into it. 2 Rieger C3 and stampede on a Helix 2
if anyone knows what im doing wrong please let me know cause at this point i think i wasted 10 mil
You're not probably doing anything wrong. Try mining in the Halo. Planetary mining in Stanton is bugged. They put a hotfix in, but it broke relatively quickly
first time I tried but looks like you can stack multiple Hull C missions, I have two here and both loaded (same locations)
fully unloaded but both were short - CIG Math bad :/
how do i enter extraction mode? i got it to work but now its not extracting
Left Alt + Left Click
Same bind to switch back too
I hope they intended us to put on the 80SCU bags onto the prospector.
Makes it a big step up from the Golem.
And its better for the normal mining when your not group mining.
You need to set it in your keybinds. But it's useful for EVERY ship
So go set that button. Me and a few others use ; as the bind
Yeah the Cutlass black, C1, and zues all have copilot seat tractor beam. (The Taurus has a manned turrent tractor beam (I do not like this at all. Manned tractor beam turrents are dumb)
Note: out of the copilot controlled tractor beam the Zues is the only one which you can open / close the exterior and fly the ship with.
So pick your poison. The C1 has the best grid out of all of em, and the zues is the nicest with the worst cargo grid. The zues grid is complete crap btw.
This afternoon I mined a ROC gem patch on Daymar but 70% done the rest bugged out lol.
how do i mine rocks with better resistance? like what is the best setup for my mining laser to be able to crack better rocks
Check up on module uses and gadgets for your mining ship. Also the top miners on you tube have suggested loadouts.
i just need a list to crack quant, i do not want to listen to this Elguapoe dude talk cause he is all i can find for mining loadouts
The pinned section for this channel has some information and I suspect someone will be along with better info. for you...
You need the sabir mining gadget.
Where is the best place to sell Laranite and Titanium?
They have a bunch gadgets and tbh they make rocks easier to break.
I recommend you save this here link and check for yourself mate
Tin (TIN) - Commodities - UEX
This link...
Also those ain't worth crap.
Course mate. Happy to help. But seriously save the link. Helps me all the time. Even when figuring out if a rocks worth it.
Btw, if you don't already be sure to have the highest possible laser power.
And carry those gadgets.
I got 2 Reiger C3s.
I run the one that increases yield (cluster mod) and the impact? (The active mod which increases power.
Also you gotta golem or prospector?
Golem.
It was too cheap to passup so I run Reiger C3s to make up for the power loss from Resistance.
What size does NB Accept?
Ah are those the ones which give a passive +15%
To power?
I think so, yes.
Those are good. You might wanna try the active module.
It gives a bit more power but you need to activate em. And overall 1 rock is an entire module lol
Should I be able to sell rmc straight off my Fortune to the tdd?
what percent of cargo do you have to deliver for completion
the last elevator bugged out
I was able to do that but you have to wait for the sale to complete for each type.
this isnt a thing? or doesnt fit on the MOLE
Sabir is a gadget that you get out and place on the rock
Gadget vs module
Oh boy... I said Gadget. You need to go out of your ship and manually place it on the asteroid. You then need to tune it (which tbh is kinda a pain since your floating around... but cool) and then you can just mine the asteroid as you would normally. They are reusable and the Sabir goes for ~13k. So be sure to retrieve it if possible. (NOTE: On occasion they break)
So it technically doesn't fit on a Mole or any other mining ship. You carry then in your pack. (They take up a good bit of space tho. I recommend you carry 2 or 3 max due to how big the dam things are but you can also keep 1 mounted on the bottom of some packs saving space.
Also I recommend the Sabir because -50% resistance. Tis a lot. But they have others which adjust other properties as well. And they normally have a downside.
Also Only use 1 gadget per asteroid break.
If you try to use 2 one will fall off or not work at all.
(Balancing factor)
For your mole tho you can equip a variety of Modules on each laser as well as swap out your mining laser.
Worth noting that it CAN be a lot on a rock with high resistance, but it will do hardly anything on a rock with low resistance, and nothing on a rock with zero resistance
do i NEED an active mod?
or can they all be passive?
You can do all passive
do i want -resistance or +resistance
You may want to play with this #industrial-professions message
It does not have the golum laser in it yet though
im not gonna be able to focus on that long enough to even understand it, its literally a one or the other question.
Big rock, big resistance, do want -resistance or do want +resistance to break big rock
Generally speaking, less resistance means the rock cracks with less power.
So the answer is, it depends, because the Helix / Pittman has a minimum output of 20% power, which can sometimes be far too much power for subsequent breaks.
Sometimes, in some cases, you want more resistance.
TL;DR - It depends
Can the Hull C do cargo at the Cru and Hur stations?
negative
crates decided to get stuck on the celling
how do i fix the Hull C clicking sound when it tries unloading cargo? freshly claimed ship. not even 30SCU on the damn thing. its pressurized ice - is that stuff just bugged? seraphim. have had other missions complete very quickly and easily.
ok thanks
would i need a mole for stuff that is hard to break in a prospector?
For stuff that's hard to crack, not really.
For stuff that's impossible for Prosp, sure
There are many rocks a Prosp can't break that the MOLE can. And even rocks that a fully crewed MOLE can't break, but that's very rare IME
hm the c2 celling today gets crates stuck
Always has
Ironclad supremacy
They can all be passive. The active mod that ups power does give a bit of a large increase tho but is a pain in the neck due to it constantly procing.
You want -resistance. Basically resistance makes it harder to break a big rock.
And generally your good asteroids will have a high resistance. Like gold...
Are there any other Fenymaline moons/planets besides Aberdeen in Stanton? Not real cool with Aberdeen.
EH gotta fire the genious who tought interior gun is better than tractor beam
Daymar
how many member rank missions do you need to level up from member to the next
cuz i just did one andd it moved like a millimeter
I did check Daymar and found the Berdum but will go back and look some more. Thanks
Does Drake Golem come with everything it needs to start solo mining?
yeah but for more dificult rocks you would need gadgets plus modules
Yeah but like fishing. If I start with basic I get more credits and upgrade.
yes you can mine with deafult golem just dont pick rocks your deafult laser is to weak to handle
Thanks a lot
one very good thing about golem: its nearly as good as prospector and its very small
What are the default keybinds for mining mode and stuff? It doesnt work. Game says M to toggle mining mode. It does not work 😄
are you in SCM mode?
B you need to be in NAV mode to quantum jump and in SCM for fighting/mining,...
I now am in SCM. But M does nothing. It's a stock Golem and I already broke it
Drake ship😁
Is anyone also a problem during hauling that the cargo goes into your personal inventory in the warehouse elevator instead of getting added into the contract?
I've failed quite a few deliveries this way already
where to set keybind to get into turret view in C1?
like lmao, i am scouring through 10000 bindings but cant see it
hm, managed to set it up
but didnt help as the turret refuses to work anyway
gonna do it by hand since idk what to do - the ship has power on, engines on, but turret claims no power
Tractor beams have their own power setting in the power management screen. They are unpowered by default (at least on the Cutlass Black it was)
I printed 12 of 13 in the Fortune now it's blocked and bugged collecting new material. What gives?
Grinding through covalex member rank for the hull c contracts is absolutely brutal— does anyone have any tips or tricks to speed this up
thats how its supposed to be
dont worry in final game it will surely be even worse
That’s what I feared
Fortune opinion: Everything is great about it except the pickup speed of the laser. If they make it on par with the Vulture's I would consider a purchase. I took it out to try and load up the interior to top out at 48 crates but getting the crates through the 2 doors is a huge hassel and blocks moving through the ship. The buffer glitch I had was not intended, I took one off the rack but the glitch remained. Back at base I could print no 13 when the rest were unloaded. Anyway the Vulture beats the hell out of this ship and its a lot easier stuffing to 36 crates.
How does one get maintenance mission?
They haven't yet been reworked to work with server meshing
So you don't
To set a keybind for entering a remote turret go to Options>Keybinds>Advanced>Vehicles - Seat and Operator modes and scroll to the bottom of that list. There you'll find the option to set keybinds for remote turrets.
To get the darn thing to deploy or retract once you're in the turret press "S". Also to toggle between VJoy and FPS modes for the turret press "Q". That one is personal preference but I find FPS mode to be a much better mode to operate the tractor.
So they took out maintenance contracts?
Do you mean the ones where you remove waste or whatever?
They still (along with a number of other contracts) haven't been refactored yet to work with server meshing.
There's still a maintenance job occasionally to repair comms when they go down and there's a number of missions returning in 4.1.1 (still TBC)
Any way to scan a ore/rock? or am i dumb..
Looking to get into mining again after being away for some long and right now we have the prospector from Free Fly. These are the two builds I have made. Which one would be overall better? or are there some new items that would be better then theses.
Helix[Rieger, Surge] IMO
That is what I went with at the end of the day
Ive done it with C2 and Missionstacking in Everus Harbor... now i got a Hull C.
Now my dreams are broken because the tons of Bugs with Hull C. Broken Missions, broken autoload broken Shipspawn, broken bedlog.. ill let the Hull C at the Hangar an and try again after next patch.. 😦
For Member rank go to Port Tressler, there are 6 missions paying around 90k each take 1 of each for a different metal, they go to the same 3 locations, 2 DCs and NB, stack all 6 and head out, you'll need a freelancer max or Corsair ideally, should also be able squeeze them in a C1 or Zoos CL. Should take under 1hr to complete them and will give you 6 missions worth of rep!
You could also do them in a Caterpillar and take advantage of the compartments to sort the load and use the hangars at the DCs.
Right, i tried Salvaging, its calm and simple, but im going to try a bit mining with the prospector, any recommendations?
yup
this strong enough to mine quant?
They're passive modules so once the mining laser is on they're on.
top one is active
ooops sorry. it'll be LALT-1 for actives it's LALT - number of the slot it's in
Well now that I've tried the fortune yeah it's lame. Fine for a starter but will need to be priced appropriately
As I was suggesting earlier the laser needs to be equal with the Vulture.
Originally it didn't feel too bad but we've had 2 salvage nerfs since and it's become unbearably slow. Even the Vulture feels borderline frustrating now. They definitely know how to suck the fun out of things in the name of balance
I'm dreading the next tractor beam nerf because I still enjoy haulage lol
I'm fine with it being a entry level and future medium.
Vulture
Retriever large
I would boost the vulture capacity
New player questions was locked and it has taken me here. Dedicated industrial proffesions channel? W
I definitely wouldn't spend Millions on a fortune, but something like 500K Maybe
With the 60scu i could make quite the chunch of moolah from doing multiple hauling quests at once.. although.
Im just concerned about moving the crates. Is there any way to move them other than the tractor beam thats equippable on your person?
Ship tractor beams and the ATLS
From cheapest and slowest to more expensive and faster.
Dinyx
Ferron
Pyro
No real reason to go with Pyro, time gained over Ferron isn't worth how much more it can cost.
Check regolith.rocks
Would gaskin be alright?
1h5m
over 4hours
it has a mod yield but also high speed
The three I named are best because of the yield
You'll be losing a lot more materials with the others
ohh okay
so i should just wait the what?
5 hours
I dont have to sit here with it do i?
You can log it keeps refining...
Once you set the order, you can go back mining and make more orders
Stack many orders and collect them all at once
I really recommend against Pyrometric.
15k aUEC for 10 SCU of Titanium and 10 more of Agricium, that's like 50% of the money you'll make selling this order once refined
Always dinyx. No real benefit in speed
Where do I take the other ore
Inert
Heres what I use - pretty nice rock cracker!
Do you know what it means by extract power? Is that just how fast or slow it can scope ore up?
Yep - that speed to me is not a bother
Yeah, I am fine losing that
Gonna be upping my storage on the prospector here in a second to 64scu
64 or 90, depends if I can get ore pods or not
I got my bags up to 80SCU I can carry - the only problem with that is like a 67hr wait to refine, LOL
Yeah but so far I cant say its totally worth it. What happens is you find 3-4 scu of quantanium and your not even close to full so you have to start watching that clock and just nab what you can
I never find quant lol
But I also don't go out looking for it
If I see it, Ill grab it
But its normally rocks I can't break anyways
I find it fairly regularly, the other night I found 11+ scu quant rock got a full 10 once refined!
Just reemmber the wave shift will get into much bigger rocks - just because they say impossible doesnt mean they are
Yeah, broke a 17k mass rock today
Took sometime, but I was able to crack it, even tho it said impossible
Ok, glad to hear it - sounds like you've got this!
Yeah, used to do mining back in 3.24
But then I kinda stopped playing jjust before 4.0 because of bugs
My main game loop is salvage tho
Still hoping they will let us collect to storage in the next patch - I know they are opening up refine from storage but that just makes all miners targets for pirates
If I remember right, we can send the job to the station after its done
Instead of a cargo ship
can only send to ship right now afaik
Sorry, in the version we are playing, yeah, we can only send to ships/ But I believe the next update lets us send to station
Unless I am miss remembering the video I watched
that would be perfect - I dont lose much just going to orison but would like options on what I am hauling where
Yeah, if I remember right in the PTU. You can put pods into storage and have them processed from there instead of the mining ship itself. (Though there is a bug that it consumes the pods if you do that) then once the job it done, you can send it to the station you are at or to a cargo ship
Any good places to mine in Station with a Prospector? Been going to Yela
i like mining in the Aaron belt
Yela is a pretty good place
Cellin if you want a change of scenary with a higher chance at Quantanium
lyria is also a good place
Okay
Yall think Golem is worth it? As CCU from LTI referral bike
i like the golem if you dont have a miner its the best imo for the price
I mean I dont even know if I will like mining, but considering I have 2 LTI referral bikes, I might as well upgrade to Golem (or C8R)
Trying to sell some cmat and seems like I should be able to #helpdesk message
But I cant
Which area are you selling them at? The Admin or TTD/TDD (Can't remember which one it is called lol)
One accepts them and the other doesnt
I also think one accepts RMC and one accepts CM. Or one only accepts both and the other doesn't accept either
Ahh, I was at the admin, I'll check the other - whoops 😅
Can't fully remember
WE FOUND QAUNT
Only 10scu into my run tho
So that kinda sucks
So, with my current setup. 17k maybe 18k is the max without and moduels added onto the rock
Not bad for all passive mods I think
made a lil test website to help with cargo hauling 😄 still WIP
meanwhile my way of tracking cargo hauling
also glad windows decided to set Fahrenheit (made up american bs)
Nice
Funny thing about that, it came from Germany
65 hours to refine - ridiculous yall - seems like refinery times should be better than that! I mean come ON - I can do 3 32 scu orders at teh same time all running at about 24 hrs - but turn in one order for 80 scu and wow gotta wait 3 days
stupid
I am getting some nice quant orders going but either way, the refinery times should be adjusted in a more staggered method - maybe break it up? no order should take that long when you can run 3 concurrent runs in less time
It just works
better way i found with google spreedsheets this my old one i could get the website up and working but not sure if its worth the money lol
The issue is more perverse when the facility os over burdened - looks like lots of miners are afoot in stanton!
Is the Starfarer spaceborne gases and refine them for use without landing. is this Gas mining still going to be in the game? I thought quantum was suppose to be in gas clouds now in rocks is that going to get changed
what all does golem fit in?
C2,M2,A2 and Polaris
890J surely too, and Carrack with landing gears raised.
Where can you sell roc mineables In Pyro. I heard you can't is this true?
according to sc trade tools the one I collected was unable to be sold in Pyro so I had to bring it back to Stanton, check with the tool which one you have:
TDD in A18 doesnt recognize cargo in my warehouse, but it does in Starlancer cargo:
any tip?
i need to grab the refined ore i left in pyro
Where would y'all recommend a 2 man mole crew mine in Pyro. I've looked at charts but its pretty hard to decipher that into where to actually go
So I’m new to mining I’ve been mining in Pyro and refining at checkmate what’s my best option for selling refined ore like quant stil ricc and tarinite
I've been using the free fly Corsair...
I just started but have been on the moon adir
Ignis has some good Mole rocks I am heading there for the Gems...
Where’s my best option to sell refined ore in pyro like quant still ricc tarinite
I’m refining at checkmate right now
uexcorp.space check there for prices, etc. another great place is regolith - never mine alone!
Is it Checkmate that can park a Polaris? I'm going to Pyro for some gem mining...
All of three main stations
Okay cool ty and yeah I need more ppl to Mine with just has been me and one of my irl homies using the prospects
If you keep looking around you'll eventually find groups of people who not only enjoy mining they take it to the next level!
Yeah bc seems like there’s good money in it and it’s just chilled back witch is nice
I don't do it for the money - I treat it more like a fishing trip, full of mystery, location scouting, and a bit of luck - you never know when you'll find that big quantanium rock -that you can barely crack, but with patience and skill you land it and make it back in time before you blow up.
Haha feel that idk im new so im looking for money but also fun but yeah I know thats right i found a 50000 mass rock 48% quant we used 3prospects and ended up blowing it up bc someone was backed up to much then moved in quick lol
I did the exec hangars once so far got a free ship now I’m trying to make some money and explore other aspects of the game
Gathering ideas and common practice tips - Let's say I wanted to trade with another player, refined resources for cash. How would you approach it, to make sure that it's fair and reasonably secure for both parties?
Following this bc I have a fuck ton of refined resources waiting to sell
Following as well, just came in here to say that😭🔥, or even just trying to find out how to sell it in general/get it in my ship to collect
😂 hell yeah yo anyone who wants a team to Mine with add me please would love to get a more people to work with
I was finna get on, shoot me a friend request, getting a water and I’ll be on
I’m workin rn so won’t be on till later but I’m down
What is the max amount of commodity cargo you can hold in a planet inventory? I've already noticed you can overpack
It's only a limit when buying
Don't think there's an actual limit to how much you can store using the freight elevator
On like Cru L1 I reached maximum but I know Orison has a lot more.
Oh okay, yeah because I pack on the pounds with construction mats and I just wanted to know if I'm concerned to running out of room haha
After it hits the max displayed on the terminal, you can not send bought fps items to planet inventory which kinda blows
How would I go about getting my already refined Ore and collect onto a ship to go sell?
Sent a friend request. Our group does big mining expeditions and all things industrial
You go to the refinery deck and the the tablet you started the refining on and then select the ship you want it to go into
You need a cargo ship to collect the ores and transport them to somewhere you can sell them
Okay sweet added !
oh amazing
How do u sell vehicle minables from the GEO, do i store the box in a frieght elevator?
Yeah, precisely my situation. Since some materials like quant are needed for quests from Wikelo, there are players buying them for higher price than you'd get in TDD. So the question is, how to do a transaction fair and square? Meet in buyer's hangar, summon cargo, get money? Meet at outpost? Slow drip-exchange of smaller quantities or fast bulk?
I mostly trade items and weapons but normally
meet in your/their hanger
equip item/bring up ship to show you have the goods
they send cash
you give the goods
Out of these what do you suggest?
The corsair holds more but im not sure if there is more to it
Any, they have roughly the same capacity
Corsair because bigger cargo grid
If you're using a default Prospector, you'll be carrying two refinery orders anyway, no more
Unless you're trading to an outpost and might need the inbuilt tractor beam
Corsair or C1
I wouldnt let me put it in the prospector
As in refinery jobs generated by a prospector mining
What I am saying is, the prospector has 32 SCU of storage.
Two loads make 64.
Three 96.
So you will be able to carry the same amount with C1 or Corsair.
They'll never be big enough to overfill either ship
C1 has a tractor beam, very convenient. Use that
Great, thx. Good to know the usual level of trust in the community.
There's not that much, bring a gun and bring a friend
Thank you so much! for everything, i know ive asked a lot of questions.. I just really enjoy the game when it works and im wanting to make sure I am getting as much info as i can!
Is there a ship list for mining?
And is Mole the one with the radar problems rn?
The Golem is
It holds 32 SCU right?
Anyway to like upgrade that i guess?
Can't upgrade the Golem storage capacity
damn
any advice for a new player who has the Golem. should i just try doing other missions as the scanning isnt working ?
Can’t find the price of the MOLE, would you know?
ingame its like 8-9mil
oh fuck 😭
prospector is like 2-3 i believe
Check and bookmark !erkul for every ship price/where to buy and loadouts ⬇️
• Calculator • Shops • Ships • Weapons •
This i find is better for prices
It's not different for ships, worse for components and better for everything else that doesn't exist on erkul.
Okay thank you guys
Last question, is there a website to find where is the best place to Ship-Mine at?
I have been going to yela's belt but if there is a better place
This a really good mining website
gives u all the info u need and lets u track ur refinery orders
also lets u plug in the info of a rock and will tell u the approx sell price
So, do I want to look for quantanium?
If in stanton yeah
Okay, so i'd go to the place that has the highest % for that
Yeah if u want to properly min/max ur mining but if ur just starting out id just focus on getting a hang of the whole loop
I just need to get the selling part down and I’m good I’ve been refining at checkmate and mining on a moon called adir pulled a shit ton of quant stileron and ricc
Mining in 4.1.1 will be so much better now that u can refine straight from the bags
Fr fr
When will that happen
I love it though just a peaceful way to make money chill listen to music make friends
Is surface mining broken ?
That’s the only type I do
thanks
The answer to this for Stanton is "It depends". CIG hotfixed surface mineables last week but some severs still seem to have issues with the mineables rendering but not being interactable. So try server hopping if you are unable to scan rocks.
Pyro has generally been more stable, but also isn't 100%.
Yeah I’ve been in pyro haven’t had any issues just yet but also haven’t been doing it very long few days
On Yela I've had deposits that cannot be scanned
did ground mining get fixed yet or is it still buggy
In pyro it’s working for me
I have a question with FPS mining. How do I get the multi tool to scan the nodes?
For ROC mining I'm one out of 3 on Daymar and 3 out of 4 on Aberdeen.
I was using the handtool while killing cave Korps. I wasn't able to scan or mine anything
any recommendations for an easy to load hauling ship with more space than the taurus?
C2 was too big to effectively face its ramp towards freight elevators. taurus beam is nice but I'm using it less now and now that I'm on member missions its limited space makes sorting trickier
RAFT in 4.1.1
I read raft can only carry 3 boxes? Is that still true?
oh in 4.1.1. its getting changes?
yes it can carry 192SCU
just normal cargo grid style? nice
In the 4.1.1 PTU patch the argo raft cargo grid is buffed from 96 scu to 192 scu, so in this video I am testing it with my friends. Enjoy!
4.1.1 PTU Wave 1
My PC Specs and Game Settings:
• CPU: Intel Core i9-14900KF 2....
Except atm the bags disappear if you do that .. meaning if you gave a golem it's gonna cost an additional 50k a load or so...
So it's not really economical to do so... at least yet.
For the Golem at least. The prospector bags maybe different
51k a load for the Golem. (32SCU or ore)
21k x 4 =~85k for a prospector outfitted with Mole bags. (48SCU ore)
And... 15.5k x 4 if using a prospector with OG bags. =~62k for 32SCU.
how on earth do you get 80SCU on a Prospector lol
I have only gotten it to 48 with mole bags
Remove the OG bags and Frisbees and place mole bags. (I thought mole bags held 20scu each?)
Mole Bags, unless it has changed, are 12 SCU?
Because my Mole doesn't hold 160 SCU
it holds 96
if you could glitch 4 mole bags and 4 Prospector bags onto it then you'd get 80 scu (32 + 48)
but that requires glitching
unless there's a legit way
Ah yeah, requires a glitch repair method.
Wheres the reclaimer rework then T^T
What they did with the Raft is a minor change compared to the kind of rework the Reclaimer needs. Also, not all of the features the Reclaimer is supposed to have exist in game yet, so they might not want to do a big rework on it, only to have to rework it again later. Unfortunately.
I was misinformed. Those are in fact only 12SCU pods. But that is not good for economics...
So if you mine out of a C2 with the Golem it's an additional 1.6k per SCU.
If it's a ship using Mole bags its an additional 1.75k per SCU. And using prospector bags 1.94k per SCU...
Freaking horrible.
So yeah totally so much better. (Seriously you still should be going back to your ship every load you sell)
whats the best laser load out for a prospect and where do you buy mining gadgets to put on rocks
yeaaaaaa, i know ;-;
Best laser loadout depends on what you want to mine, and gadgets can be found at Refineries.
Personally, I use the Helix, with optimal window and extra power mods, and a gadget for additional window if needed, but that's rare, since I can usually finesse the laser to within 1%.
I also carry negative resistance gadgets, and stability gadgets
yeah bc right now i know i have 2 mods on that people helped me with one is the rieger c3 but i just need more power i can only crack like 10k mass rocks
Negative resistance is what you need then (it's called the Sabir gadget)
It can make higher mass rocks weaker to lower power lasers
I don't remember, check cstone for their Universal Item Finder.
you should load up and help me out XD
really need to figure out the selling aspect i got a bunch refined at checkmate
Currently at my child's school for pickup, or I would
all good im going to add you on here lmk next time you want to mine could use some help
Yeah, no prob. I have literal tutorial documents for mining in all 3 formats, gadgets, modules, heads, tools, you name it. I love mining
going to need that ahah and same its fun relaxing and seems like it makes good money
Do we by any chance have a rough time line for when the next patch drops on the PU?
Trying to time job orders
You have weeks left to complete refinery jobs
do you think we will get "intersystem" cargo missions soon? As in, Pyro gateway -> stanton gateway or something like that? Would be cool
(cant wait to drop half the cargo in my hull A while I touch the jump point edge)
COme trhe fk on
I just lost like 24 SCU of gold... because my spirit decided to die when it was called up
So I am not to happy about that
fkin 150k in gold just burned in flames
best place for quant mining?
Cellin if Stanton planet mineables work?
Terminus in Pyro otherwise?
Can check Regolith.rocks, look at the %s and weigh the pros/cons of the various sub S-Tier materials for each location based on your setup (rock mass, resistance, instability, ore density, etc)
Did you by any chance call your ship up outside your hanger and then went to your hanger?
Been having problems with calling ships outside of my hanger and then going down to my hanger. They tend to glitch out a lot
Same - in fact if thsi happens do not claim it - log off and log back in go to your hanger and call it again. If you do not have a hangar -retrieve your ship and THEN store it - you'll have your hangar (this is also useful in the event you have a small hangar but need a medium) so then go to your hangar and call your ship from there - it's gone be alright!
Once it goes wonky. I normally just leave it and go back up and the hanger will send it back into storage
Then I just go back down and call it inside the hanger itself
yep yep
I did do that as I always have.
Because my default hanger is a small. I have to call in a bigger ship for the bigger hangers
Then they bug out what what not, so gotta go up and down a few times
That would have been the big brain thing to do
for some reason the "lobby" is not your friend, lol. You'll notice the first thing that happens when you enter your hangar is that its coming up out of the floor - let that happen before calling a ship
Just lost all my mining stuff I guess?
Moved stuff to the corsair and called it up and boom
Nothing
no worries send her back down she will come back up with it
had the same thing happen to me - in fact I flew to orison without it went back sent it back down and called it back up with the cargo in it, lol
Also, love adding people in this game. Can get into servers with less than 100 people
There we go
Cargo
congrats!
In CRU-L1 atm. Debaiting if I go to New Bab (Home town) to sell
or somewhere closer >.>
oof CRU-L1 is way over capacity!
Just where I go to process my stuff
I would def go to Orison but check the charts for the best price
As I mine around Yela
The price for stuff doesn't overly matter to me
I just find it easier to do stuff at New Bab as everything is in the same area lol
Reason why I make it my Home City
a full connie of quant could mean a mil loss!
you will over time tho!
Just trying to save for a Vulture
174 SCU if you keep at it is attainable!
never got into it - I worked as a box monkey long enough to NOT like salvage!
Gold and Borase for the two that are cut off
I love getting a reclaimer and spending days in it salvaging
salvage an idris with 6 friends - it gets old after 8 hours of work and still not done, lol
Still learning how to get good at mining
But overall, not a bad haul
Gross 1.1mil Net 1mil
159 scu of total cargo
Would love to do more in this game. But being on a laptop with a RTX2060 Mobile. Is very limiting
hmm, define "good" - I think its a bit of luck and knowing how much time and fuel you got before the ship goes boom - feather the distance at what rate is about the hardest thing to learn. What are you mining in again, Tiaoz?
Prospector from Free Fly
Running 2 C3 mods on it
Sometime Ill swap one for a Focus 3
you carrying seom gadgets too?
Yeah
well then your an expert! LOL
When it comes to mining itself. I can mine with only a small sliver of charge window lol
But its just finding good rocks and determining if a rock is worth cracking open
Though I did do the trick to get the prospector to 64scu of cargo room
So its not as bad
I just try to always hit taranite and quant - the other stuff all pays too - I say why not and just refine it all
You shoudl be able to get it to 80
I need Argo bags
but as I have said before get ready for LONG refine times!
But that requiers me to get a atlas as they are buggy
no, its tricky though to get the bags up on the cargo elevator tho
64 is good tho I am considering going back down anyways - the refine times are rediculous when you could have 3 orders done (96scu) in 24 hours rather than 68 hours for 80scu refined
Yeah
I'm finally going back to work after been off for 2.5 years. So it wouldn't bug me too much
I have 4 days I can wait lol
also you probably shoudlnt be refining at CRUl1 anyways the bonuses are total trash there and take away from your order for themost part
True
I just picked it as it was the first one i found near me lol
But I should prob look at the %'s next time
For what I mine the most of, ARC L4 is my best place
for taranite yes but otehr than that my go to place is Arc L2
Yeah
Also a good place
Would honestly like if I could get a ship to store the Prospector in and then just store a shit ton of ore bags on the ship. Just keep mining for a long time lol
Polaris...
Yeah...
might as well add in a nomad with a ROC in it
I have a Mustang
That is all the money I will ever spend in this game lol
And from what others say, it takes ages to earn it in game from whatever the dudes name is
I have an aurora and that's all I'll ever spend till game is official
money (my wife watches it like a hawk, lol) is my only restraint in SC
I'm in Canada and it costed me 70-75 to get into the game
Reason why I won't spend anymore
plus its fun to work your way up
And at some point everyship or 95% of ships will be buyable in-game
But furious when they wipe it
