Made a mill on an HH like day 1 or two, another mill helping someone do a recovery in a bad spawn area, maybe a half a mill running cargo between stations and the rest just running a crap ton of bunkers. But it's getting tougher finding a server where station entity count is under 100k
but it's definitely my kind of fun
i just dont understand circuits yet
I did a bunch of multicrew for overdrive, had some fun. Got to fly a fully crewed hammerhead in a fleet, which was awesome. Now back to our regularly scheduled buggy bullshit circus.
just head to new babbage to ad a free 60k entities to the server :p
Factorio would be too much for my brain lol, playing msc building the engine and troubleshooting already gets me tripping up
I should just go do some multicrew mining/salvage some time
i enjoy sitting down and designing something that is meant to be flawless and perfect... even if it takes a few hours and like 3 tries lol
pouring over a blueprint for 3 days straight just to make it 1 tile narrower is the quintessential factorio experience π
I'm like that with ksp1, I'll sit there for a hour launching rocket probes so I have a connection to the moon then once I've landed I do the same setting up comms around the moon to reach the close planets near it. I do try to keep it as unmanned as possible since I have life support mods installed and don't want to have to do recovery missions
that reminds me, I should really play RP-1 some time
I think I'm starting to give away why I'm frustrated with SC going full arcadey π
I also just bought the new F-4E module for DCS and jesus it's glorious
I'm definitely a certain kind of person
i mean at first it was just "make it work"... then it went over to "make it cheaper" and after that it went to perfect it
also, the clock went to 6:10:30 and i could sell my RMC
once you understand wtf is going on and it all clicks, you just want to make it pretty π
and if anyone is about to tell me factorio is not a pretty game, miss me π
seems like i need one more RMC run to make the C2 work lol
my Taurus is putting in some work
taurus is a work horse
taurus is also objectively OP
but we're busy shitting on the F7A atm
yeah it kinda is
it does everything good
not perfect
but good
althought tbh, it should get a small buff to it's pitch and yaw. make it 40Β°/s
it's way better than it has any right to be at everything it can do
best cargo ship in its size, almost best combat ship in its size, has arguably the best positioned tractor beam of any cargo ship perhaps other than the Hull C, can move all ground vehicles other than atlas/tanks.
it's ridiculously overspec
honestly, the only unironic thing this ship is lacking is quantum fuel capacity
is it? I don't think I've ever had to even think about it
I just put XL-1 on everything and hardly ever have to worry tbh
maybe it's my compulsive refueling habit every time I land anywhere
i mean i do that too
but some times you just wanna make 2 trips at once (when mining for example) and the fuel tanks struggle
i had to downgrade to a crossfield on my mole to make the trip from mic-l2 -> cellin -> mic-l2
how much does that add to your trip
it's 124GM
I mean in terms of time
compared to going to cru-l1?
compared to an XL1
nice
How many have their Covalex rep maxed already?
I'd be impressed if box missions worked long enough to even get positive rep
The distribution centers have decent missions
Using the mules to stow fixes box glitches

haaaa it feels so good to be back inside my C2
pff
i find a place that sells 108 SCU of gold and my cargo transfer constantly fails
for fuck sake
there was a god damn NPC outside
shooting my connie
is buying gold just bugged or what lol
Buy all but one
They have 107 + a 0,x in stock, game rounds it tgo 108, but the last one ain't complete, can't buy it
Where xD?
Using it but it shows max 46 rn
yeah the website doesn't show the current stock, just the stock last time it checked
and it was pure luck anyway lol
!tradetools
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
Oh had hoped you had found a place that consistently had 108 xD
Good thing the cmd is in the channel description
nobody reads those anyway :p
Don't worry guys. Surely next week we get patch
The biggest gold load I've had was 60 scu. Wish it could be more.
going on CIGs track record since I've been playing my tip is the patch will drop late on a Friday.
Most places I've worked at had a hard "no deployments on Friday ever" rule
but CIG gonna CIG
we are gonna drop a patch on friday and let the game be broken over the weekend
I did refrain from adding that not deploying on Fridays is for people who give a shit about prod
I'm trying to be less of a doomer π
They did do a Friday release with 3.23.1 as I recall, but they were kinda running out of time before ILW. On the other hand, they obviously want to get the XT event out so people can finally do it, finish Overdrive, and get their armor. And then they can worry about 3.23.2.
By now 3.23.2 was supposed to have entered Evocati testing, but 3.23.1a apparently has had some major issues.
Actually what I heard was more like "If you fire a gun the server may crash." type issues. It was so bad they shut PTU down for a while after putting the first build on it.
Hull C is so broken that I've no interest in buying one with in-game money much less real money.
From what I've read, it also seems like the procedure for buying/selling is a hassle too.
There was armor to be had?
If you complete the entire Overdrive mission series, including the main XT event, you get an armor set.
I've done all of Overdrive. So I need to do some XT later too?
is the armor account bound?
unless you care about immediate playability, get the ironclad
No idea, not even totally sure if the armor will show up in hangar
I suspect it will, but I don't know
and even if you do want the hull C, just get the hull D instead, as it's slightly more with 4x the cargo, and has a hull C loaner
Guess I'll be running some XT fleets then
I've melted all my gunships tho
If you want a Hull C, you might wanna sit down and wait a few years tbh
i only care about immediate playability
i dont buy jpegs
I don't know much about XT, but from what I've heard it sounds like at least part of it is cargo running
I have never done XT. I just know some people like to go yarr harr on it because "roleplaying" and definitely not murderhoboing.
Guess I'll just team up with folks from the Discord and they'll tell me what's up
You could try the event out on PTU to see what it's all about
on my own? meh
I showed up to the last one, when the servers were just melting
shot the idris a few times in my Corsair
I don't think I ever got credit for anything
Nothing you do in PTU will carry over to PU, but it would be a way to see what the event is about before it starts.
can i dock my C2 at a space port?
C2 can't dock
darn
But it can land anywhere
i can?
Yes, it's not a Hull C
map says S3 hangars and the C2 is S5
It's the hangar that's S3. Not the ship it contains
gonna use my C2 to move my mining profits :p
good luck
i mean tbh
i have not seen any pirates (human) that are outside of the RMC bases lol
I'd be more concerned about bugs
Didn't think about this for some reason
i havent encountered one yet lol
I've seen some people around cities, outside the armistice zones, looking to ram people in cargo ships
gonna clip it and report them :p
It's not against the rules
Unless they're ramming your unmanned ship on a pad
CIG have an extremely narrow definition of griefing
PRO TIP: there are better ships to move stuff on the inventory, the C2 is actually small inventroy
the Cutter Rambler has an awesome 4 scu inventory and its so cheap
same, its the ship's inventory what matters, C2 has big Cargo grid but small Inventory
chief i cant put 130 SCU of gold into a cutter rambler
hull C works when you know how to avoid bugs
and next patch they are fixing its docking bugs
are they? o.O
yes
they're trying to fix one of many docking bugs
you tried to be less doomer :p
and that's hardly the only issue with that ship
I'm just being accurate π
that's their wording, not mine
hmmm i just like the neat concept lol
last nite i felt thru an Elevator of Doom, straight to the void, and they said they had fixed it several times.
If they're doing it repeatedly in the same area to the same kind of people it can be assimilated to targeted harassment, which is against cig's rules
wanna test it but idk if i wanna use it and lose millions of UEC lol
yes but you'd have to prove that the same person or group is targeting you repeatedly
which is hard
man
making money with a C2 is pretty easy if people just leave you be lol
back up to 22mil again
What do you useally haul?
gold and Beryl
but mostly beryl
im making about 400k/trip
Yea, was about to say gold would take time to fill a c2 in xD
Yeah I fly gold in my c1, sm0-18 to new babage, or scd 1 to babage
Ita's good for beryl too, but if you don't quickly load up and leave, you may have to take out an NPC Cutty Black.
yeah
had a cutty attack me while i did a gold run in my taurus
i came outside and had to take out the trash
PFFFF
the hull-a can have up to 2000GM range
Only problem I have with that, is that they are protected by armistice even though hostile, so you have to lure it out of armistice to kill it.
yeah that is quite annoying lol
And they may be capable of damaging your ship while it is still in armistice
little fun-mobile has 10.000 quantum fuel lmao
yeah but i have pretty strong shields luckily
plus i always leave my power on 100% shields when i leave my ship
Strength of all shields in a size category is actually the same right now
I'm guessing they flattened shield HP out in order to get analytic data to decide how to adjust them in the future.
most likely
I'm sure they'll readjust things in 2-3 years with whatever data they gather
Last time they did that was 3.15, with a promise of constant iteration on modules. They hadn't touched anything since.
i wish i could trade ships
would make the C2 a really cool addition
or would make a really cool game loop for traders
bringing ships and ship parts to remote areas in the galaxy
Hull C is supposed to have fancy SCU compatible ship-crates for that
and the bigger hulls too I guess
speaking of which
i own a hull-c now
just gonna use it once the cargo update comes live
This video will explore the bulk cargo transport mechanics in Star Citizen alpha version 3.23.1. By following along with these steps you'll be able to make approximately 500,000 aUEC per hour, and learn all the intricacies, bugs, and workarounds of bulk cargo transport with the MISC Hull C.
I wanted to make this video with workarounds included,...
also found this cool guide
even explains the bugs and work-arounds lol

im also gonna by myself some good clothes at new babbage next. i dont wanna run around looking poor
the hull c has a gajillion oxygen holes
get a helmet
I keep saying this, but it really is a buggy neglected piece of shit
i never go outside without a space suit and helmet lol
I'm not talking about outside π
no i mean like
im not even going into ships without one
im not even taking it off inside a station
wise
im always wearing one
a burned child fears the fire
I'd love for clothing to be more useful. Maybe one day.
I hate running around like an anime cosplayer in the tightsuit everywhere lol
shubin mining facility SMO-18 on MT sells it the cheapest
there are fancy suits at MT
just let me put normal clothes over my undersuit lol
that too
I would actually like there to be a good reason not to always permanently be in an undersuit
As one of the few places that sells gold though, I've often heard of pirate activity there. And it is a long long ways out there.
both places that sell gold are usually camped
I think you meant SMO-10 not SMO-18 if you were talking about Beryl?
smo-22
OK, that's probably safer then. Still a long long ways to go though.
2 UEC less :p
meh im already on MT for the gold at smo-18
might as well take it from there lol
I don't go out that way much, and I don't really bother trying to buy gold. If I'm selling gold, chances are I mined it. :b
My old Beryl route is Aberdeen to Orison
it's not very fast or the most profitable, but it's fairly chill
if i did i would just buy a fuck-ton of beryl on MT and sell at babbage
Beryl market there might be glutted
everything is always gutted in NB because lazy gits go there due to the easy entry to the commons
people obsess way too much about the trains
I have to say, I have had some bad experiences with those trains before.
folks acting like 3 minutes on a train is the end of the world tbh
oh yeah I'm not talking about the bugs, just that people get way too upset about "time wasting mechanics"
Time spent in the train doesn't bother me
like bro you're playing a video game, if your time was really that valuable you'd be out there curing cancer or something lol
just enjoy the ride
Some people are in a hurry to get lots of money to buy ships, but then when they do, they run out of things to do.
If you obsess so much about grinding money you'll burn out now matter how many train rides you skip.
The long term plan is for ships to not even be a part of overall player progression anyway. They're just supposed to be "gameplay enablers"
I've bought a variety of ships/vehicles in order to try out different aspects of the game and learn about them. If I was one of those grinders, I wouldn't have used money from my Vulture to buy a Mole. π
Not sure what kind of progression there would be aside from ships or base building
Except raw wealth
exactly lol
that is why im taking 2 extra stop each trip just to get 80 extra SCU of gold in my C2 lol
if i really wanted to make money i'd be only heading between SMO-22 and orison
actually orison is stupid
lorville is better
even better, i would just constantly fly ita -> lorville and back lol
as long as i can buy myself a mining facility somewhere im happy
well not mining, but refinery
There is the Expanse
Though it will probably be overshadowed by Arrastra
i wonder how much the arrastra will have in cargo space
and if it will have S3 lasers
The mining lasers are supposed to be S3, and it's supposed to have 64 SCU of "internal" storage and 512 SCU of "external" storage.
It's also supposed to be able to carry a couple vehicles, like Rocs.
does external storage mean mined ore too?
guys i never tried trading before and wanna buy hull c now, it just looks good but people saying its bugged and not worth. can someone who knows about bugs explain me? and give some advices

Also note, the Hull C is not meant for getting cargo from planets/moons, just stations, so what you can trade with it is limited when it does work.
C2 is currently the meta ship for commodity trading.
got c2 but i wanna try space trading as u said, btw do u mean demand issues?
The Hull C is not designed to land on a pad or in a hangar with the cargo spindle extended. So instead it has to dock, and docking is buggy. That also means you're limited to buying and selling stuff from space stations. No RMC, no Beryl. You trade in high quantities of low cost items.
Only city where you can dock (and cannot buy/sell there) is Orison
i mean, checked what i can do with it. i know what i can buy and prob will work around landing pads with my friend i wont try docking. if they are all bugs will be issue
seems worth to try, just dont have any experience :D
Till the Iron Chad gets here
Surely soon
Like Hull series. Not mining bags. Has 128 SCU in mining bags iirc
eh good enough
especially when i can just refine it inside space
surely it wont take like 50h to refine the ore
I know this was hours ago, but for the sake of completeness. There are several (4? 5?) storage boxes built into the C2.
It holds a ton of shit, I even put a 1 SCU box inside one which seems like it shouldn't be allowed
BP is only letting me sell 8 scus of MS any reason why i cant sell more??
What's the total demand? Each sell point has a demand cap, every 15 mins it should have 10% of the demand available again
alright, I'm drunk and broke. time to start trading beryl.
what could possibly go wrong
How do i know what the demand cap is?
it's fixed per location
sc tradetools tells you
of course, we all wish we had in-game tools for this, but something something alpha
Look at the column on the right side of the terminal you're selling at. It should tell you what the location buys, and how much total space they have
If they're out of demand, scroll all the way down to the "no demand" section
They have 3 scus of medical supplies and i can only sell 8 however it says very low stock
It's hard to know if you're looking at their stock or their demand. Make sure the Sell button at the top is selected.
Sometimes mixed cargo has to be selected multiple times, every time you sell a chunk it unblocks the next
When you sell enough to fill their demand, it's supposed to both lock you from selling more, and show the material under the No Demand section. That's when you know the max amount they'll buy before waiting on a refresh
Beryl trade run update: I made it as far as flying out of the hangar. I blew up FNAR. Guess I'm done for today.
I have a 20 fps server too
I can just walk through automatic doors and they open on time
this is glorious
Sorry for the delay in response @visual night however my problem is that I bought 4608 SCUs of medical supplies and it seems no place takes that much. And to sell 3-8 at a time per station is ridiculous.. is there any place that I can sell it in bulk?
Unfortunately I don't know of any place that will buy in bulk, medical supplies are kind of a trap cargo. There may be a spaceport that takes them since their demand is on average higher, eg Orison. But no clue if you can sell while docked there in a Hull C
https://uexcorp.space/commodities/info/name/medical-supplies/tab/locations_buying/
You can this link to see the demand of the stations and where you can sell them at
is it still worth doing cargo runs with dupers substantially worsening station buy and sell prices?
also for completing it from my end: i was hauling gold lol
i was selling 2 mining orders i had cooked up so storage was not gonna be enough either way lol
I think this can be said for all of SC right now. Iβm personally not playing until 3.23.1a at minimum, probably 3.23.2 with how awful itβs been.

guys i have a question about sc tradetools. it says i can trade helium between sera and bajini without any waiting time, but bajini shows 0 scu for helium
what 0 scu means? is it endless or what
it's their current inventory, remember that the tool's data is not on real time, stock/inventory you get may be different
they having 0 inventory means they'll buy whatever you get them
i mean, it shows as 0 rn but also says i can sell 4.6kscu without any waiting
so can i always sell? means never demand problem?
'always' is too long, but for the moment yeah, seems like a good route
Does anyone know why i cant buy rmc at dunboro ?
I have a c2(I dont dupe) but the ship doesnt show up in the terminl
Cargo grid is empty as i just sold it before
Bugged terminal
Go to Pickers Field or Rappel
so there i was at one of the Shubin mining facilities minding my own business waiting for more gold to fill my hold right?
when i get attacked by an NPC ship, is this normal? in a armistice zone?
i had to haul ass out of there π¦
I saw a post on the forums about the patch being delayed to next week
Thankfully I saw in it they said there will be a fix for docking arms not extending
a tentative fix
Yeah
as in "we hope this works, good luck everyone" π
and that one's just one of several issues with docking
Yeah
docking and private hangars have no overlap
Makes sense
since we're in cargo, I assume we're talking Hull C, which they've specifically called out as not doing anything with in 3.23.2
Sadge
Hopefully it'll at least be somewhat usable with the 3.21.1a docking arms fixes
well it's one of the many issues that plagues it, so I guess it'll be less painful
Ahh, oof, yeah, I made that mistake once. Then I made a point to check all the Hull C-capable stations to check what the demand for everything was. Med Supplies and Distilled Spirits are in a weird place where we have effectively unlimited supply, but almost no demand
How would I make a lot of money (i currently have around 50k) doing cargo in a freelancer or is that just not possible
You can make a decent chunk on Beryl or Gold, but pretty sure those markets are flooded right now. When I started out i was running between Nuen and Brio's in my Cutty. Wasn't breaking 6 figures a pop but it was decent. Dig through sc-trade.tools for commodities and routes that might interest you
Does anyone know when hangers\ fright elevators come in will you will be able to store salvage/any refined mining boxes at stations until you are ready to transport it to a planet side selling or will it be lost.
as far as i understood it in 3.23.2 only your home location will have persistant hangar so only there you could save your cargo
Is hull a good?
I'm hesitating to which frieght ship to buy, freelancer or hull, they're both around the same cargo space in scu but the freelancer is double the price
nah i tried it only two intresting things it has going for is extending animation and ease of loading/unloading
Oh alr
Also is c1 spirit better or is freelancer better
Cuz they are exactly the same amount of aUEC
so cargo transport is in the shit... i bought some medical supplies, cant seem to be able to dump them anywhere
a place buys 10, the other 8, meanwhile i have a full M2 of the stuff
You can try waiting at a tdd for it to reset
nah just need to find proper selling location
did that on one of the shubins, got attacked by pirates
i mean at a tdd not admin office
where do they sell gold?
Being attacked, in armistice, by NPCs is not new, but it used to happen mainly as a result of another player's PvE bounty spawning there. Now it seems that at least some friendly landing zones will spawn a hostile ship to attack you if you stay there for a while. I've come to expect it at HDMS Ryder, so I don't load up until after I take it out. (Though I have found out that it can come back after server recovery.)
From what they have said, I think you'll be able to store cargo in the warehouse at each station/city (aka what we currently call local inventory) and then manually load it onto the ship via freight elevator. (And freight elevator would be how you would store cargo that came from another location that you manually unloaded.)
Only your home location would have the personal hangar, but every hangar and landing pad should have freight elevators, otherwise manual loading (aka the big new feature) would not be possible. And they've already shown a freight elevator at a landing zone's pad.
i filled my nomad full of gold but nothing is showing up
Cargos from stored ships are buggy since the 3.23. Try just not to store the ship. Once you have stored it and you had cargo inside, will the ship be buggy and stay like this till you claim it new.
maybe a mechanic to avoid people camping the site to fill ships?
the thing is it also happened to me on caterpillar sites where i go there to kill the bad guys (fps mission) and after a while a npc ship appears and starts attacking you
Except that, in theory, they should not be able to damage ships in armistice so they wouldn't really matter. I think it's just something to add more PvE combat opportunities.
And a heavy handed attempt at that.
where do i find cargo spindle controls as a keybind?
Fairly certain it's a bug. It's almost always a cutlass, and it's full of ninetails in fps gear, just like the ones at caterpillar wrecks.
They drop off groups of npcs at those wrecks. This patch they've been dropping them at mining stations sometimes
What I've seen was a Cutlass with apparently one person in it that just circles around my ship, firing whenever it goes outside armistice. It's not dropping anyone off.
And it seems like it could be triggered by something like going into the building where the trade terminal is.
There are no other ships around
I see. I haven't run into that. Just the npcs getting dropped off on places like Dagmar. That, and my buddy spawned a Nova that had a ninetails inside
this, same at catterpillar sites
wait for 3.23.2 patch it should fix majority of the cargo issues people seem to be having.
you can sell it all at area 18 I beleive
Okay guys
This cargo dupe thing how do I fix it if my cargo has duplicated?
Because according to this place I'm buying Beryl from
I have a full cargo hold
But to large places I have 6scu and I can only see 6scu in the ship
I don't really want to sell it, it feels more than mildly dishonest
Blow ship up and claim
Damn
Whelp, if I'm gonna have to do this after every trip I better wait for a patch XD
Everything except equipped weapons/components will be wiped
Instead of claiming, land somewhere without storing eg New Babbage or Orison, and you can sell to clear it. Or take out everything you want to keep and claim the ship, if you want to avoid double selling
If you land at a hangar, most spaceports auto-store the ship. You have to take it to the ground entrance at NB
The issue is that selling cargo while Stored doesn't actually remove the record of cargo. Selling while not stored correctly clears the grid
I guess more specifically, Stored cargo is acting like a duplicate. So anywhere that stores a ship will continue showing empty, but you have ghost cargo whenever the ship isn't Stored
Yep NB you can always avoid it (or sell twice) since it has a ground vehicle entrance.
Orison is the only other one that allows it afaik. About 75-90% of the time, I can land and get to the TDD because it's within 16km of the hangars. Rarely it'll tell me I've blocked a landing zone and give me a fine, even more rarely it'll decide to Autostore the ship without notifying
Yeah didn't see this, Dunboro has been that way since 3.23. apparently taking off and landing a bunch can sometimes make it appear at the terminal.
I havent seen it work, or Maker's. It's easier to go elsewhere
guys i bought cargo with hull c and just entered loadin zone, a guy started shooting me randomly and crashed, lost my cargo arms and cant take cargo. do i lose cargo or what to do?
Can you dock somewhere and repair?
i repaired but arms are still gone
would it still take it?
Maybe at regular docking if that's possible. Or land precariously on the pads and try to get it to register
I don't have a Hull-C, I'm just spitballing from what I've picked up
it seems bugged, cargo was cheap i will leave it
just wondering if i can return cargo when i still didnt get it
Yeah I don't think you can return it.
I don't know what happens if you don't actually pick it up, since most ships have it magically appear in the hold
the actual kind, that "just" makes 2mil/run :p
well it's 1.4mil
but still
"Oh yeah? Where'd you park your ship? Let's see it."
I was gifted 500k and I like trading. There is only a couple of ships available with a very limited amount of SCUs, so I'm unsure which one to buy if it's worth buying a cargo ship for this price at all. Which one can you recommend?
Save up for a Hull A maybe?
embrace the grind. its half the fun.
Anyone else have the problem where when trying to move minerals to your ship the ship isn't even listed as an option?
I would grind more and get a Cutty Black at a minimum. You can convert the credits into parts until the patch and credit wipe pass.
anyone know of a work around for my issue. Cargo is purchased, I'm back in my Hull C, I try hailing Cargo Services to get my loading zone box, and Cargo Services never answers. I've gone back to the admin terminal to confirm the cargo and still no luck. if there's a trick anyone is willing to share, I'd appreciate it. thanks.
Fly out then back in range of atc with nav mode sometimes takes 5/6 tries before it responds
Only have a aurora rn
If you want to team up later we can. I have a Reclaimer. Should probably wait until the patch is released. The Cutty Black holds 46 scu of cargo and can carry a ROC. It is 2.116 million in cost. Link: https://www.erkul.games/live/calculator Let me know what you want to do.
How's the Hull-C in 3.23.1? Haven't played much and just going over my options to start grinding my auec
Docking is bugged on it, so it's tough to even get in it rn
Great thanks for the info. Maybe Ill look at salvage then.
Thatβs what my girl said last night aswell
Saw a 3D model video that shows Ironclad base can hold 2 Buccaneers but can't hold a Cutlass
Showed a Terrapin can fit. Also, a Vulture can almost fit; is narrow enough but too tall with that little wing thing on the top

any workarounds for outposts not recognising your ship? I think someone said theres a trick to click somewhere around the location button and it works?
like spam click somewhere here there's hidden pixel or something
why is NB not buying recycled material composite?
because it has a somewhat small demand compared to other locations, and the entire RMC market is fucked right now thanks to duping
Area 18 is always your best bet for RMC selling
Where are you
I've heard of taking off/landing repeatedly sometimes causing it to recognize. If you have r_displayinfo open you can make sure the game recognizes the Location.
Clicking the hidden pixel works for selling stolen cargo, I don't know I've seen anything for the location picker
the hull-c is not good for my anxiety
How are my drug runners doing this patch? I've been having a grand time moving illegal cargo, none of the demand issues seen in legal cargo markets.
really well
played for a few hours today and it's been great for drug running
My man. Gonna keep it going for jumptown?
maybe, could be fun or i might end up killing more innocents than Israel
I'm thinking it will be nice to not have to wait for supplies, if it's quiet
true
Currently have a C2, Andromeda, cutty black, starfarer, and caterpillar accessible to me and about 1.5m Iβm willing to risk on cargo.
Mostly want to transport βsafe cargoβ, is there any commodities or routes I should pay attention to, or wait for a βconvoy eventβ
Beryl is probably your best bet, not many people are camping those routes and it's decent profit. One concern is NPC spawning in, a C2 can tank it for a while though
any workarounds for a station refinery bugging out and no longer recognizing any of your ships? can't make any more work orders or claim the ones I have at one particular station. Other stations work fine
Logging to menu and reenter might work around it? Or change region, to guarantee a new server
If it's anything like the issue with traders not recognizing your landing. If it's something tied to the ship, maybe a different cargo ship?
I tried relogging and another region, and I claimed another ship there to see it showed and no dice. Might just be borked till a reset :/
Yep that's really disappointing. Hopefully things will be updated soon
Those orders are probably gonna be toast either way
What would be a good ship to buy with 4 mil? I grinded around 4 mil bcs i was saving up for a freelancer bcs i like the look and doing cargo, but is there another ship that's better to buy with 4 mil?
freelancer is probably best around that price range. no big haulers until you can afford cat
Is the Connie Taurus costlier?
Probably, it's the biggest hauler in it's size range.
Around 8mil i belive
Is there any way to know/see when demand will reset somewhere like Area 18?
I know it's every 20 minutes, but is there some way to see when the next time will be or how long it's been
No and those 20min are not precise either
unfort :c
Im intrested will autoloading time be like refinery jobs more people using autoloading longer will timer be
oh it was for selling stolen cargo, got mixed up. do you remember a general location of that pixel ? left, right? I'll open dipslayinfo next time and check if it recognises it, thanks!
happens all the time with any of the outposts without a pad. not sure where I was last time.
Dunboro doesnt seem to work but pickers and rappel i think is fine
For rmc of course
Dunboro and Rappel go there on your own risk its always hot there
At Grim the pixel is just outside the box for the material. In the empty space on the right, towards the top. When it blocks you from selecting "Unregistered" cargo, you can click the underlying button
I think you are right, it was Dunboro. Or maker's point? one of those. Yeah rappel works, haven't been to pickers in a while. Some of the drug places also bug out
thanks, will try it out if I get some stolen cargo
which Freelancer Variant? the base? or the MAX ?
max
the only cargo ship better than the Max and affordable is the Taurus but its $8m and has 174 scu of cargo
on the 4m range... the C1 Spirit, but you will losing cargo for gain in agility and speed.
tbh i don't like the connie
TIP: on Area18, at Dumpers, you will find a few Paints for the Freelancer
Why do I get Cargo Transfer Failed when trying to buy at an outpost
are you buying everything from the stock? if i leaver 1scu in the outpost it usually goes away
besides the QT Drive (put an XL-1) i dont think it needs anything
alr thx
hi, you get that because at that station they have a non integer stock, for example: they have 50,7 scu, the console rounds that as 51 scu, but that last box can not be printed, therefore you can only buy 50 scu
try buying all but 1 scu
That worked, thank youuuuu
Is the timer for resetting same as like for RMC updating?
yes, around 15 mins
Any fix for cargo crates stuck to the floor in a Reclaimer? These may be off the grid.
Why doesnt Dunboro let me buy RMC? My C1 isn't showing up as a purchase location
Bugged place
Brb crying, I love Microtech
if its this, then the fix is on the PTU
Ok thanks! Patch cures all lol...
guys im trying to sell my loot to scrapyard and says vehicle is occupied, no dead bodies in too
how can i fix this?
my friend scanned my ship, says 5 dead in and 9 passangers too
How often is the UEX Trading chart updated?
Maybe if you fly back out to space, bed log to menu, load into a new server? You may have to claim the ship to clear it though
It's by human volunteers, so only updated as often as people provide data
Hold on, does that mean the data could be fraudulent?
If people misreport maybe, but generally it's close to what I see in game
Not sure if they have a rep system or something to stop outliers
tried to store in station and take back, bedlogged and join in new server too
still 9 invisible passengers in my ship and cargo is invisible too
cant get rid of them
Yep the only way is gonna be to claim the ship, if the cargo is invisible it'll be challenging to transfer....
You could blow the ship and the invisible cargo might reappear in the wreck? Or maybe it'll still tractor while invisible
yea thats what i will do for last
The data I think gets updated manually using screenshots from a tool made by SC Trade Tools that people use. So I don't think it would be that easy to do fraudulent data, especially since the data doesn't really change much.
SC does not currently have a real dynamic economy, the main data that would change would be the average supply at locations or maybe how often particular trade routes are used. The pricing data is mostly set in between patches, though there may be major changes with 3.23.2.
Anyone got a fix for the ghost ship inventory?
like when i go to buy cargo says my ship is full
but go to sell cargo says its empty
Sweet, thanks lol
actually just got to the commons entrance
to try that
Well, I was gonna try selling again to see what happened, but the server 30k'd
oh lol guess i'll have to claim it tomorrow when i log in
3.23.1a is the fix.
Any rich deposits of gold?
Too many people try gold, you're lucky if you get more than 100 scu at SMO-18 or SCD-1. Diamonds are usually more abundant, but less profitable
Beryl is my most popular commodity
Beryl is the go-to for large volume haulers. You can make some 320-500/scu profit on it, without any waiting times.
Why does it say i have cargo, yet i go to tdd. I dont have any cargo there -
anyone?
Reclaim it. Sorry bruh. You got some bug. But I bet you didn't make that scrap anyway so you're not really losing anything.
Unstore vehicle and sell not stored. Just leave it on the pad.
For those that dont know, this is in essense teh dupe glitch that everyone is loosing there shit over lol
try and go to the TDD and store it and then try to sell or just keep it in hangar and sell
its what fixed it for me
is there any way to haul cargo in this update that doesn't involve duping?
sc-trade.tools for commodities, prices and routes. It's user-fed and still being built but it's been accurate for me so far
just dont store your ship when you go to the selling console.
the fix is already on the PTU, gotta wait for the Live
yes, but aren't all commodities impossible to sell due to duping?
Nope, just the high selling ones. It's money over time vs compulsive get rich quick play
not impossible, hard because Dupers exhaust the stock
ok, and what have you guys been hauling?
Someone on here posted this and it's been a good change of pace. No idea who to credit
NM, it's in the bottom right
thank you
Beryl, Larranite, Gold...
you could try RMC but the selling places are camped by duppers
And nuked depending who's on your shard π
Well, I melted my C2 and my Expanse for an Ironclad. C2 is great and all, but not having tractor beams, and MPUV being too tight of a fit, Ironclad is just the better version. I'll have my my Arrasta for refining when that final gets to the game, and my Caterpillar for midsize hauling. Now, where are our precious updates!!
what dd you got for loan?
Cat
whats a good cargo runb that doesnt involve duping lol?
ive got a taurus and want to make some money with it
All cargo involves duping it just happens
If you want to specifically avoid RMC, gold and beryl are good options
To avoid duping, I have my ship retrieved when putting cargo onto it or selling cargo from it.
just dont store your ship using the Hangars terminal, leave the ship in the hangar and run to the TDD to sell
u can store it afterwards
i'm trying to buy from dunboro but i can't select my ship to put the cargo in
i think i'm close enough
Dunboro is bugged
How much do gasping weevil eggs sell for per unit.
!tradertools
!tradertool
fucking hell
112.500 UEC
!tradetools
One-stop-shop for everything trade related in Star Citizen: best trade routes, best mining spots, etc.
ah
I think it was the fucking hell that got it to work
Damm Dupers, cant sell RMC at area 18 worth 2 million
Will there be there any need for an MPUV tractor in .23.2 when loading cargo in a personal hangar? Or is the multi tool just fine
When it comes to manual loading, it has been said that some cargo containers will require ship tractor beams to move. When that will happen, and what containers will be affected, we don't know.
Automatic loading will be an option though in most cases.
Imagine it'd probably be the 16-32 SCU that'd require a ship or vehicle tractor
Would make loading and unloading a Herc hell but that's what you get for a good hull
Currently tho 16 and 32βs are moveable with multi tool? Or the tractor tool
Any tractor beam can carry any box of any size. It'll likely stay like this.
What changes with the tractor beam size is how fast and easily you can rotate stuff and pull/push it.
Just between Pyro multi tool and Maxlift tractor beam, the difference is huge. Pyro is a pain to use with 8+SCU boxes
BTW is Scrap worth trying to do for low cost trading? I've got barely a mil rn but I know that a full Herc of scrap is like only a few tens of thousands
sc-trade.tools
just plug in your ship and what you want to spend and it'll show you the most profitable trades you can run
then realize piracy is rampant this patch because they made some goofy changes
so avoid OM points, and sell at armistice zones only
That's kinda why I mention Scrap.
Because it's so cheap it wouldn't break the bank if the ship and cargo is lost
You can easily run scrap between Lorville and Pyro Gateway. For example, this is a low key run I have done in 3.22.1 with the Caterpillar. A full load gives about 22K profit, but is better than running empty between destinations.
Fairo
I'm kind of bored of trying to wedge my knife into bunkers, bounties, and salvage so might as well try to do that
Just spend some time poking around the SC Trade Tools. You can build a pretty decent route that doesn't include RMC, Beryl or Gold. Excluding those 3, you are pretty safe from being hit by Pirates.
You can go (for example) Tressler - Devlin's. Devlin's is not armistice, but usually empty, there's no need to store ship, no long travels through dense planet amosphere or via tram. It only makes ~50 uec/box, but it's really fast.
I'll probably note the locations those come from anyways to try and keep off radar; even if I'm not getting the good shit, people might not care til the wreckage is on the floor
But thanks; it's been like a year or so since I tried to do trading
And if you want to sweeten it, you can stop at Buds growery and haul processed food back
How do we buy Recycle Material ? I went to a couple places its suppose to be according to random trading sites and its never there ?
Dunboro and Maker's field are bugged
There are only two working buy points
LOL its like you knew I was there .... what are the working ones?
The two others
gotcha thanks !
guy's is there a better trade root for the c2 than the SM0-22βΆοΈ Orison?
can hit Lorville instead and make your trips half as long for only a little less per-trip
more $$$ ove time
yes if you are using hull c
New Patch coming to LIVE possibly today or Friday. Will reset a few things. FYI
I hope it'll reset my cargo grid...
My Hull A is bugged. It has a phantom load that is preventing me from purchasing and that I can't sell.
How to fix
The nuclear option of reclaiming may work, but to prevent happening in future, apparently you'll need to have the ship unstored when selling
That's based on info I've parsed from her though, can't verify
can anyone confirm there is no possibility right now to unload cargo from caterpillar? never happened to me with C2, happened twice to me with pillar
multi-tool shows info about rmc boxes but it is always volume exceeded
(ship ports unlocked, doors unlocked and opened)
I have to admit I haven't seen "volume exceeded" before. I also haven't traded RMC but haven't had any issues with other cargo. I can only offer the usual "fixes". Don't store you ship before selling, try a different location and store and retrieve your ship.
This is not my ship
Are you at a salvage yard or one of the no questions asked terminals? Maybe it thinks the cargo is stolen? Oh also have you tried selling it in smaller amounts? Sorry I'm not much help
It is stolen and I am trying to unload cargo off the ship to load it into my C2
sorry I read unload as sell.
I would really appreciate if anyone knowledgeable in piracy could test unloading cargo from caterpillar in a group of friends (not in a party) so that caterpillar was marked as stolen (with "private property"/"trespassing" label)
did you unlock ports from the pilot seat?
@tribal vessel .
Itβs completely bugged me and my buddy get this pretty often when doing pirating
Even if you blow up the ship the cargo will survive and it will be stuck to the grid we havenβt found anyway to get it to release
So caterpillar is currently bugged, I see
Itβs not only the cat either can happen to any ship
Well, back to C2s I go
We had it happen with a C2 and C1 aswell
I've got like 15 or more stolen fully loaded C2s and such thing has never ever happened to me
It can happen trust me dude seen it happen multiple times where we had to leave loads of money behind
Honestly I think it's physical visible just really in game, sort of like the piles of c2s at area 18 they are there but locked and can't be moved once the servers sync the item go bye bye
This evening with the new patch dropping to LIVE, hopefully most of the grid and trade issues will get cleaned up
The .1a patch has the dupe fix, but I'm not sure it fixes the issue with SCU boxes and bunker loot boxes having "infinite" inventory space, preventing you from putting items in or taking them out except via looting interface or with the box in local inventory.
dont think it includes a fix for that neither, i've read about a fix for crate boxes going thru the floor, but nothing more
could be worth checking the Issue Council, maybe this didnt passed the min upvotes?
Was confirmed a while ago and upvoted 356 times. It's a pretty major bug when 3.23.2 is supposed to get rid of access to local inventory except via item banks/freight elevators.
is a ccu from cutter to 315p smart?
folks in here will know more: #ccu-and-fleet-advice π
yep, yoinked all the exploit money and suspended accounts duping hard
Now that the patch is live
Has anyone in the PTU seen if the cargo duping/invisible cargo bug is fixed?
yeeeess
try and tell
Wow!! Super Dupers suspended ... 600 accounts
pretty sure a short suspension, but that's impressive
and all their illicit profits... gone!
that works perfect, imo
well, if any had off loaded the aUEC to other accounts, I'm sure there's no tracing that
Back in the Trade business I am!
same, now that everything isnt going to be completely flooded 24/7
im sure those transaction can be tracked, not sure if CIG wanted to do it
at the very least nice to know i wont have to destroy my ship every time
I didn't care about pulling the latest meta trade, just to run trusted routes, but all that got hosed with the grid issue and dupers. Now we can
I just want to get my wallet back up to about 30M aUEC so I can relax and play around
Are the hull-c issues fixed with .23.1a?
docking ports finally work?
I was wrong about the account suspensions... It won't be days or weeks, we're talking month
Finally started trying to do some trading, got to a mining area on ArcCorp to sell some Medical Supplies for a cheap bit of credits...
and it only wants 50 at a time
Even 045 mentions "~5/3588 SCU" yet it's taking only those 50. Am I reading the site wrong or is this litterally the speed of trade rn?
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/92000849236066304/1250949131879583744/image.png?ex=666cccaa&is=666b7b2a&hm=f61fe97a9294cee99681e3afc229eec1f0c986a5cb1b5fc7db8deeec22c4adcc& yep 2.5 months (yoinked from #star-citizen )
This definitely sends a far more clear and readable message on exploits with the game
I'm trying to recall if they've ever taken this type of action to this scale on an exploit. I might be wrong, but I didn't think so
Sometimes a precident should be set
In other news, does anyone know if thier inventory reverted by a day, an hour, or none at all?
i had armor in a container, and I lost the armor upon wipe
and guns
container boxes were bugged, and still are.
Do you need a workaround?
Would anyone happen to know if the hull c has had any of its issues fixed?
Anything not placed in persistent inventory in your primary zone will be lost
Anything left in ships, refinery, etc is wiped
Im happy people that exploited got banned and even happy to the ones that are pissed about it
Not completely true -- 'may be lost' is more accurate. It seems almost random. The only gear that I lost was actually in my 'home location'. Mess of clothes and a full Dust Devil set that I kept with my subscriber gear so I would not lose it. Go figure. The gear from other locales, including rail guns down at Pickers field, and mining gear at a variety of stations made it just fine.
Random may be a key field because I've never had anything but primary area survive. That's a shard thing also
Whats the best c2 cargo run currently now that RMC duping is neutered?
going off info from https://uexcorp.space/ rmc is still king so pickers or rappel, outside of that beryl is a safe bet most of the time, i believe uexcorp is updated every hour or so
is cargo fixed π
duping is but cargo grid itself unsure about
Deserved
anyone know if the hull-c issues were fixed with the .23.1a patch?
How do I sell my distilled spirits at Arc L5?
try a No Questions Asked terminal. Salvage yards and a couple of stations I can't remember. Can't guarantee they buy it but they tend to buy lots of stuff
I don't think they buy spirits there.
They do, I found the terminal in the galleria btw
Live and learn π
#sc-patch-notes if it isn't in there, the answer is no
You can read the full notes in the linked url
Did you know that wenn you leave an area with soft killed ships around like in a VHRT, the ships despawn ??? . i tried it two times, with backspace to come back and have a marker....
and they were all gone..
just the dead body was still there.
the PU isnΒ΄t longer Persistent...
Yeah it's unfortunate. You need another player nearby to babysit
Do you want 4 server fps?
was it always like this ?
Since 3.22 at least, probably before too
before we could find some wreck with cargo.. so far i know
well we donΒ΄t need to call it persistent when it is not...
Player ships don't despawn, or have much longer timers. I've found full abandoned reclaimers to liberate. Much more common in 3.22 with the HH mission and common 30ks
ok well it is like it is.. thx anyway..
- Still Pre Alpha
- NPCs despawn after some time, especially post bounty if they were attached to it because there's no reason to suck up resources for it
- It's still persistent enough
Would you rather that every single area in the Verse have 2-3 ships constantly guarding and attacking every random ship coming near? PvE bounty hunters usually focus the target then leave. It's good practice to cull forgotten items, which is a current problem
yes true it is for things we donΒ΄t need like 1000 abandonned ships at stations and empty bottles..
Or burden the server with tracking the fact that 3,273 SCU of cargo dropped from bounties killed over X location when it's all copper and titanium
i was pretty sure, the ships stayed longer but i was wrong.
When there's another hundred that also have similar situations
sure.. i understand
No but a broken database and no actual persistence for the stuff people would want to loot is literally the worst of all outcomes
Some good news for Cargo traders - Pyro Gateway landing services are working with this patch - you can now refuel.
guys i see lots of changes in sc tradetools, like cant sell eggs to brios or cant buy rmc from anywhere. is it bugged or they changed things?
I bought RMC this morning. Brio's definitely accepted eggs in 3.23, doubt it's changed. Sometimes it won't register your location correctly and the ship isnt in the drop-down
Sounds like bad reports or maybe the last person reported demand at zero?
hold on.... did they not fix the duping exploit in .1a?
haven't been on, just saw some people bitching about it today on spectrum
yeah I saw the purge, good on them for finally doing something
it has been, people dont read patch notes or read announcements and just make assumptions
i heard its still possible to dupe but atm nobody is dumb enough
The big take away from the patch is the dupe fix, XT and JT
I still don't know how the dupe bug even works. Maybe I should figure it out just to avoid getting my ass suspended.
Or if they are, they finally wised up and shut up
also lol at all the folks getting butthurt over being suspended
IIRC it was something to do with storing and unstoring then selling?
I heard off hand explanation
And even then it was in relation to the cargo slots bugging out
well if it was fixed I suppose it's fine
It was a grid issue, it was tested in the PTU and marked resolved. I'm certain other exploits exist, waiting to be found
probably but I was specifically checking for this bug
the "docking arm doesn't extend" is the one they said they fixed
dupers got what they deserved, cheaters! no simpathy for them here.
honestly i dont know how they didnt expect punishment for that π€· , it flooded the economy made all the pricing changes they had done useless and made cargo a pain to sell most of the time ruining the game for some
Just to play devil's advocate, I don't remember CIG ever having done this before, so people probably got complacent
Agreed, I never did it myself but if I was going to do it to try it out, I would not have seen punishment as an option on the table. If they would have made an in-game post that said dupers will be prosecuted like when they had a msg about a server shut down
No messages and no warnings. I like it. It's not like getting banned/suspended from a game for exploiting bugs is new to the gaming industry. If you exploit you run the risk of banning/suspension and if you don't realize/suspect/expect this it time to go play single player games.
I'm mixed on the way it was handled. The "game" is in sandbox, it's in open development. So if an exploit is found by players, it is reported on IC, it is to be fixed. One time (many years ago) Quantanium would double sell from the Prospector (before refineries). If you didn't sell it, it would go critical and blow your ship up when you were heading back out. Selling it over and over was to keep your ship from blowing up (the stuck state would clear eventually).
anyone able help me with storage question on taurus?
i got a medical ursa parked on it but what size storage can fit on rest?
you'll have to experiment with that if you're going to try to run trade stuff. Otherwise, you have that area in the back to throw stuff in
I think there is documentation of how much the "shielded" are holds
ok ty, more for storage for loot haha
Which places arenr bugged for rmc? At dunboro for example you cant buy it
Pickers Field and rappel iirc aren't bugged
Dunboro has been pretty awful lol, step I to nearly any building and you just clip into the planet from my experience
Is it normal that I've only been able to sell 10 CSU of distilled spirits at ARC L3 every 10 mins?
how safe are the locations with rmc? π
I finally mustered enough aUEC by smuggling drugs
because I didnt dare to visit any outpost yet (what I mean are the dunboro, pickers field et)c
Flip a coin
Im personally gonna do some Beryl trading, only been intercepted once on my two runs
You might encounter a hostile NPC Cutty Black at Beryl buying sites if you are there for a bit. In particular, I've encountered one multiple times at HDMS Ryder on Ita. (And while there normally seems to be a cooldown after it is destroyed before another will show up, a Server Recovery will cause it to be reset.) Pretty sure I've also encountered it at HDMS Woodruff and heard of reports at other friendly landing zones.
Oh I was doing SM018 and SMO22
Possible it might show up there too, along with other landing zones. But if you're in and out quick you might not see it. (I like to loot the loot boxes while I'm at a landing zone.)
tbf I was also referring to a player
It was a Lightning; launched a few rounds and missiles
He said he was trying to hunt a MSR that was there instead
I've never been attacked by a player when doing Beryl, though it's always possible. I do think that, in 3.22, there was at least one case of a person's bounty spawning at the landing zone I was at, but I just waited till they took them out and left.
The NPC Cutty Black is a new thing with 3.23 though, and being an NPC it's not that tough to take out, even in a C2.
what the fuck
Neither has Beryl anymore?
But I just got Beryl less than an hour ago
what?
I'm so confused
Turns out u can't sell the stolen degnous root anywhere I checked every NQask terminal and non of them buy it.
nice to know. Well for me but not for you
how often do you guys meet pirates? π I saw some videos and people saying it's quite big risk, but I havent seen almost no other players
i NEVER seen a pirate
some people have been unlucky enough to encounter summit from what ive seen lmao
do we think when 23.2 hits, since we'll have to manually load cargo, we could just load the m2 4 high like the c2 (top layer won't snap i guess)? figured it would save way more time loading 32/24scu containers (instead of a bunch of 2scu containers on the top layer). and then there's no tangible difference in cargo capacity between the two? long as we can still sell it all
should i trust sc tradetools data rn? it seems wrong to me
depends what you want to trust it for
locations of where to buy or sell stuff? Reasonably accurate.
From what they have said, the expectation is that the larger ships will be going to places with hangars in order to get their cargo, while smaller ships would go to the smaller outposts that only have pads. So in theory you wouldn't have to manually load. On the other hand, I imagine some will want to do that, and even in a C2 you can probably cram more then 696 SCU worth of stuff into it. However they've also said that, eventually, having cargo tied to the grid will actually be important. But in the meantime, you could always do what the Reclaimer guys do and stuff every nook and cranny. Until 3.23.2 gets into testing though, there's a lot we don't really know.
for example it wont show brios as a egg selling spot, but u can sell ingame
hence why I said reasonably accurate. It's user-updated so it takes a while after patches that change things around to reflect everything accurately
you really dont have a choice but to trust, thing is that TradeTools, and any other site actually, rely on player submitted data, CIG doesnt share a live data source, therefore, the data is accurate, but it may a little bit outdated, and im talking about minutes or hours. If you want to see better data then download and use the data feeding tool.
here is the Companion tool: https://github.com/EtienneLamoureux/sc-trade-companion#sc-trade-companion
yeah, really hoping for it to go into ptu soon or at least a q&a. i initially wanted to pickup the c2 next time it's offered, but now that the m2 is available (and i can chain it for a pretty good price), i'm seriously considering it. i just don't want to regret it if manual loading is gonna be 3x as slow with not being able to stack 32's two high. i don't really mind the less cargo space, profit margins are more than enough for my enjoyment
if cargo is your intrest take a look at Ironclad its 450USD
If you want cargo, you should be looking at the C2 more than the M2. The only thing you gain from the M2 is the additional turrets (and armor), you can do everything else it allows better with the C2. C2 is the best we have for now, and until the Ironclad is flyable, you can use it and decide if you want to upgrade to it
that could change with 23.2. if you can load and sell 696 SCU in the M2, the M2 would literally do everything better. more future proof with armor, more hp, an additional turret. dropship seats (albeit out of the way), more guns/armor racks, more internal storage. when engineering hits, probably more redundancy with systems/capacitors. even talks of military grade components being locked to military grade ships.
and even if the max is still 522 SCU (say if you're autoloading), a max load for the most profitable run of RMC in a C2 is 8.2m investment for a 2.1m profit, in an M2 it's a 6.2m investment for a 1.6m profit. my point was a 30% increase in investment for a 30% increase in profit doesn't really do that much for me when after a couple runs I'd have more than enough aUEC to do anything I want for the rest of the patch
If you are into profit per pledged price Ironclad is clear winner
yeah i agree. only thing is that it seems ironclad requires a lot more crew. plus who knows when it'll be flight ready, and i really don't want a Cat loaner in the meantime lol
could always ccu to it later down the line if need be i guess
crew is relative here its a cargo ship so you can easily solo both and use blades for Ironclad turrets. get C2 and c2 to Ironclad ccu and dont apply it
c2 not available rn. maybe when 23.2 hits? π€
meybe since .2 is very cargo centric patch. i swaped my Ironclad for BMM
got it
ah thanks
C2 is available in game too. There's where I got mine.
costs like 30m now π
I went up again?
yeah with 23.1a, at least thats what i see online. haven't checked in game yet
Shit! In 3.23 it went from 5 mill to maybe 13 mill or something in the teens as a recall. 30 million is brutal!
Universal Item Finder just says 18 mil for C2. Haven't checked myself, but 28 mil or so was a price from 3.23.1 PTU I think.
last verified 4/23 tho?
idk would be best to verify in game
Did you tried another salvage yard or thats the same?
yea they all buying eggs, just tradetools wont show it as a place that u can sell
Ok gotcha
Yeah well this is interesting, because they will have to balance this somehow right? Because I doubt they want people to be able to buy everything in-game (after release) after couple of hours
Maybe the load times will be very long / profit margin will be lower? But then that would hinder progress for the players with small ships
Maybe if you deliver 500 scu of something and want to sell all at once the price would go down a lot for you because of oversupply?
- landing at planets will be expensive for big ships because of fuel consumption in the atmosphere?
I think I read in the past that for example hull C would deliver to spaceports and then smaller cargo ships would work as city - orbit haulers
yeah lots to be done balancing wise. increasing in game ship costs was a 1st step, that's the only real money sink atm. but things will get more expensive (just operating ships, using hangars, insurance, etc). i think big ship cargo runs making multiple millions in a 10 minute run is way overtuned so that'll prob be a lot lower down the road, closer to the other professions
Are dunboro and makers point working again for rmc?
Hull C,D and E will haul cargo between systems while C2 sized ones will be distrobution-City-space station haulers and small ships ala Hull A, CL, max will deliver cargo to outposts
Yup, but at the same time smaller ships probably need to have a good margin. Because otherwise you would spend 100 hours to make as much as the guy with big ship makes in 10 hours... And so you wouldn't be really able to progress
yeah well if loading takes a while, that would help to bridge the gap between cargo capacity/profit margins
It will be definitely interesting to watch the development, as I am finance major π₯Ήπ
small ship: 2 mins loading, 10 mins flight, 2 mins unloading
big ship: 20 mins loading, 10 mins flight, 20 mins unloading
something along those lines. small ship makes multiple trips in the time it takes the big ship to make 1
Right now I am doing drug runs on microtech. Because it's the same price but no risk of jurisdiction
or cargo missions made for small cargo ships
Oh I know now!
There will be huge profit margin for small ships to be made on trips to systems where there are small jump points
Or if some route takes 10 jumps with big ship but 3 with small one
yeah also for example deliver 30SCU of supplies from city to outpost while mission could be done with C2 it would be way more profitible for small hauler to do it
Yeah, but for example pyro - I think it's supposed to be small / medium jump points. So a huge ship wouldn't be able to deliver the needed supplies there
Hopefully there will be s good reputation system so for example if you deliver food / necessary things they would condemn attacking you because they need you
As without the supplies the stations would run out of food?
thats the thing, Pyro is not murder hobo system so you could deliver cargo to station in Pyro if gang controling it actualy protect you
but personaly Nyx will be most popular for cargo haulers wanting to do gray stuff aka work with anti-UEE faction
I will work with whoever pays and if the travelling is going to be relatively safe π₯Ή
I can see in the future you quantum boost to side so you don't fly in beeline from jump point to the station
Or tbh you can quantum boost down from the jump for 2 minutes
And then you should be harder to intercept?
Because I would think that would be the most "easy" way to intercept someone, by relying on them flying the direct route
Otherwise the area you need to cover is much bigger?
Idk how interception / pulling someone from qt works
Since this came last night... armor doesn't mean jack right now and won't for a long time, and those turrets also don't mean anything if you're not manning them. If you are, more power to you, but then that changes things as we're looking purely at the cargo capabilities. Military components being locked to military ships is not something I've ever heard them mention outside of 'some military ships might come with them', but you can always swap out components for better ones.
Even if you can load the same amount in, the C2 makes it easier because you can stack the big crates 2-high. I would agree with you about the 30% increase not meaning much if the comparison were the reverse - instead, you're paying 30% more for the ship to be able to load 30% less (or less easily). It's a no-brainer if you ask me.
C2 for now, upgrade to Ironclad later.
the thing with this is the same sort of issue as seen in Eve Online with bubbles. It really depends how big they make the snare, and how great a distance we are traveling because just boosting a bit to the side likely won't be enough to evade a snare at or near the destination. Still possible, but I think you'll need more of an offset - either a longer quantum boost, or a jump to a different body/point first
Did they fix the issue where you can store your ship without losing cargo?
yes, its supposed to be fixed now.
Awesome. Thank you
are there still a lot of pirates around rmc trading?
as long as its profitable and there are defenseless 'pigeons'... there will be pirates
i mean with now the dupers being gone are there less pirates or not?
they were not actual pirates, they were guarding or camping the sites, either mercs or part of ORGs
but yeah, there should be less of them
so the chance of me going there and being shot when i land is now smaller
yup, try to get an empty server, even if that gives you some latency, empty servers will have no campers.
how to specifically get empty server tho?
you mean like now play on australian servers or?
I love the AU servers, they are fine people and the server is almost empty, you check the Coms mobiglass and see how many people is on

#π€βbot_commands exists
I was just doing what was in the channel message
Btw realistically, wouldnt TDD have terminals at the spaceport? Because if we get cargo loading / unloading - you spend 5 minutes travelling from Spaceport to the TDD, and there you click unload - which might take for example 3 minutes for a smaller ship? So why wouldn't it just be at the spaceport, so you dont lose time travelling?
Granted, with small ship I could just move it outside myself
(if my tractor beam was able to be installed)
I'd imagine that hangars might get a rework or there'll be separate storage & flight hangars to allow you to unload while not holding up the flight bays
This is litteral spitballing though
Isn't that what instance hangars are? Once the doors close you are in a separate instance so you're not holding up the hangar. The items will not persist in the hangar once you fly away from the location.
those don't exist (yet) and I haven't followed the livestreams so I dunno if they discussed that
afaik all Hangars rn are just the ones that phyiscally exist; you can find the doors they go to and litterally sit outside them, and the items will stay inside there if you drop them... I think
In 3.23.2 there will be both instance and persistent hangars. We don't have either at the moment
Instance hangars will be a separate instance when the doors close so another player can land there immediately after the doors close.
Persistent hangars are your home hangar where you can leave stuff in it, fly away to other places, and when you come back your stuff will be where you left it.
Persistent hangars are also their own instance with the added benefit that you can leave stuff in them and find it when you return from other places.
yeah, we shall see
Donβt know if thereβs a better place to ask this but what ships do yβall use for smuggling gameplay?
there is no 'one' ship for that job, but the Mercury is great for that, also perhaps the C1 ?
C1 is a cracking vice smuggling ship
meh, way too big to land/launch quick enough from buying/selling places when the shyt goes up
the 400i is also great for smugling
A few ships, like the C1, have some "hidden" nooks you could store a 1/8th SCU box in, though later on those spots may have components in them.
Someday ships like the Taurus are, I'm told, supposed to have cargo areas that are "shielded" from security scans.
Taurus and MSR, yeah
Although those should be modules
Having a preset, 100% of the time "smuggling area" is so silly
I mean it'd make more sense from manufacturers perspective to have that section always be shielded. Although it'll be known that this class of ship has that area, it won't highlight the actual smugglers any different
Lore wise the "shielding" would probably not be intended for smuggling but for protecting sensitive cargo from exterior radiation or some such thing.
And by radiation I'm talking any kind of energy that could penetrate the cargo hold walls. (Like how lead shields are used when x-rays images are taken.)
Gamma Rays
The ship's hull ought to be protecting against gamma rays, because they can be harmful to humans too. But there's all sorts of other stuff. X-rays, RFI, and other EM stuff.
There is the Pilot Undersuit but fairo
From the EPA website: "Gamma rays have so much penetrating power that several inches of a dense material like lead, or even a few feet of concrete may be required to stop them. Gamma rays can pass completely through the human body; as they pass through, they can cause ionizations that damage tissue and DNA" π
Oh shit
Kinda wonder if the shields would help; they do resist energy better
Technically the undersuits do seem like they prevent gamma rays from getting through them, since you can survive in space with an undersuit and helmet. But how is not exactly explained anywhere I've seen yet, though people in the lore channel may know more as I haven't looked into the lore much. But not everyone who goes out in a ship is wearing an undersuit and helmet. π
Nothing better than a full load of cago and a full fridge...
Whatβs the best cargo ship one could possibly solo once 4.0 comes out?
Freelancer?
Freelancer Max*
Probably.
Though you could with something bigger. Just not as easily I guess. I am hoping the up the cargo cap on the Hull-A to at least 162 and drop the Hull-B. The Hull-C has liked 4k something and this is Misc dedicated and unshielded cargo line. It should be for hulling as much and as far as possible.
I am hesitant to buy anything from the Hull series. I donβt like the idea of my cargo being exposed

Hulk wasnt exposed to gamma rays ? π
I understand where you are coming from but I don't believe they are built for hauling cargo into combat zones. Instead they are for this.
Quantum moved the stuff in my fridge around
Like I don't even fly with my weapons powered
the Hulls are either road truckers or container ships depending on size
they're built to stick to safe and busy trade routes
or travel in convoys with dedicated escorts
The best place for a server error while space truckin
Why would they up the Hull A cargo and where would the extra SCU go?
Make the containers the size 32 instead of 16 and extend the body just a bit to cover it
what powerplant do i want for a nomad if im cargo hauling?
or is there a better ship for medium size hauling?
What do you consider medium sized hauling? Cause a Nomad... sure aint it.
also what would nomad be considered?
Small lol

Medium would be like, C1 up to Taurus I'd say
if thats small the cutter must be micro
I put a white rose in my Nomad. In your scu range The Cutty, C1 and Nomad. A little higher 96scu you could go the Connies with the Taurus being higher again or maybe a Raft
Cutter isn't even cargo
if all you can carry are 1scu crates... that's not really cargo running
Cutter's a box runner, or courier
it's kinda hilarious to me the Cutter's called 'Light Freight' according to CIG. Pretty generous with the term
imma go with a c1 for now and see how i go
if a ship bought with in game currency is destroyed can i always put an insurance claim in or is it perma lost?
all ships have the same 'insurance' ingame right now, there's no distinction
right now meaning that at some point there will be a difference?
Yes. Hence the insurance stuff you see in the RSI store pages (6mo, 120mo, LTI, etc)
at some point insurance will matter and cover different things, as well as have a cost ingame (if you want to cover more, or cover a ship bought ingame)
The Hull B will be able to carry 32 SCU containers so they won't give that to the Hull A.
The Hull A serves its purpose and there is no reason to change it.
Yeah, I suppose you're corect for a one seater it holds the most. It just feels out of place without the Hull-B because there is a huge gap between the Hull-A and Hull-C.
They could up it to 24 SCU containers. But then again, there is nothing wrong with it so they won't bother.
Yeah, the 1a patch resolved the graphical glitch with retracting the cargo extension and then re-extending it.
Can anyone help figure out why I can't select my ship when buying cargo/commodities? I'm trying to buy rmco from makers points but when I open the terminal it tells me to select my ship in the drop down menu but it does not drop down. My ship it really close to the terminal
It is a very solid ship
Sit in the pilot seat kick on the engines and then head back out and try again.
I have it as a Hull B loaner. I will definitely buy it in game.
I had that last patch
Wait the Hull-B exists? I thought it wasn't even in concept?
I tried going to main menu, going back to makers and tried again but no luck
Wait are you saying I need the engines to be on?
Hull B is still concept and you get the Hull A as a loaner
No just power iirc. It happened once last patch yo me before 1a
Ohhhh
I had the power on but engine off. Will try with both on when I log back in
Do they do the same with the Pioneer? Because the Nomad is actually my favorite ship. I just enjoy hauling cargo though.
Like if only it had a shower.... it does everything including limited cargo.
Nomad does not have a shower? You certian?
@orchid tulip i still cant select my ship
Lost 2 mill in cargo bcoz of connie glitch
when will the demand for RMC will be sorted as duping is no more?
Yeah there is a toilet and a really great kitchen/living are but no shower. There is a large sink though in the kitchen.
That's weird to not give it a shower if it has toilet and kitchen. Hull A all the way.
Yeah, it is my only problem with the Nomad. Otherwise it is a better ship.
Do people think you'll be able to successfully operate the Ironclad solo? I'm toying with the idea of CCUing my C2 to it.
