I noticed you tagged "platform transfer". Is this a new device and the old was not Android with Google Play?
Then read the linked post above. There may be a restriction due to age which would prevent being able to link to Google Play and you would need to contact Customer Care about that (if you're under the minimum age in your area, your parent/guardian can consent to access to the game's social features)
Skip the profile and just connect normally with Google Play - check to make sure DML has the Google account you want to use (see pic). Profiles don't work like they used to; stopped about the same time Google decided that Google Play would automatically attach itself for saves to any game it could find. Imo, it was a solution looking for a problem that didn't exist

No! Cancel that, then look at the section below that one where you can "Change the account by game"

Hmm, let me explain my setup
I have 2 Google accounts and I am logged into both but have selected my main account as the primary - this is the one that shows by default but the other is available if I need it. (btw, the primary has a profile but I ignore it, the second account doesn't)
In Play Games, I have selected the primary account as the one to use by default for saves. Maybe it's I'm logged into 2 accounts that I have the option?
That's the one! With that, you can check -and change- for specific games 🙂

I think I found it
Go into the phone Settings, scroll down and select Google, tap on All services to switch tabs, scroll down to Settings for Google apps, select Play Games, tap on Sign in account and see if you have the by-game option
So your screen looks like the pic you found but without the Change account by game section? If that's the case, I don't know what to suggest other than make sure the account it shows is the one you want to be using
Other than not showing a game profile, does it not connect to DML at all?
Does your game have a Connect to Social Network button?
What happens if you press the
to the right?
More than one?
And if you tap on that specific account?
Even after tapping on the profile??
A way around that is to open the game within Play Games but I don't know if you'll have to uninstall/reinstall the game first 
They used to have a version of that years ago and all it took was a code the game generated to install on another device (same platform), but I guess they wanted the server space so they dropped it
I would try opening the game through Google Play first (don't uninstall/reinstall, just open the game) before doing a Facebook connection
