you need to plug in the Color mask to the right of the big shader tree
Tester one dosent seem to work, will jsut have to use the 2K pack

I’m slightly new to blender and I was wondering how I fix the circumstance where the eyes of the space marine are just black and pretty much un textured rather compared to the Mark 8 helmet where the eyes are textured and red?

By default in the shader menu, the image file isnt connected to the CC mask, but if i do connect it, for stuff like the legs its fine, but on the shoulder pauldrons, it does this... wierdness with a green shine to it
does that one still plug into the same spot?

the one selected in the image can be ignored, its only used in the campaign for non-colorable stuff
How were the textures properly wrapped around the mesh?
For the life of me, I can't find the emblems. In my download, there is no emblems file. The only emblem I seem to have is the Imperial Fists

also, are you using the RGB-255 formula? i referenced the colors by using the in game RGB-255 codes; lemme find the file rq
If you mean changing colors, the conversation above explains how to do it, you just need to use the CC textures.
basically just open this in notepad and copy the RGB-255 values for Macragge Blue
R = 88
G = 111
B = 159
just do the value and divide by 255; for example, the red channel
88/255 and when computed in blender you'll get an accurate RGB1 value, in this example it would be 0.3450980392
this has most colors
(it has every color up to whatever game version was the latest as of 11/1/2024)

Blender does math for you, so in the RGB part type Red 88/255 Blue 111/255 and Green 159/255 and it should calculate it for you.

i think your using the wrong base texture dude
the base texture should end in _a and be (mostly) grayscale
naur the shader just has a weird color fix thing in it
which is just a gamma 2.2 node iirc
idr been too long since i used this shader
just open up the shader and look around for color fix nodes. ctrl+x to dissolve

yeah, most likely the case. just looked at the hierarchy of the collections and stuff. idk if Mr.Gruntington completed everything with the new update yet, as far as i know he only completed tactical marine which has the updated shader

If is the shiny helmet you speak off, looks like this person ^ has the right idea. If your talking about the black armor, it needs color brother. enter some digits.

I personally only setup one class with the new shader and rig, haven't had the desire to sit down and set any of the other ones up. @uncut mirage / @granite scarab should have the other operators set up if im not mistaken

delete the old armature, rotate everything 90 degrees on x axis, append new rig, select everything, select rig, parent with armature deform

I'm assembling a blend of the sniper assets and one thing I noticed is that the shader we're using on this file downs out the noise present on both the masks and the albedo texture when using the color correction masks. Any idea how to fix that?

If I do that I get some color bleed through from CC. In this case, red fleks.

Next time I sit down to do more work on the file, I might pope the shader open to try fixing it myself. I know in general CC masks should be set to Non-color and both the masks and the albedo map has the 'noise' detail texture baked it, so I'm thinking it's something in the shader. Either how the colors are being mixed or the corrections being made to the CC channels are too intense.
Funnily enough, I think I've spent more time fooling around with building shaders (basic ones), than I've spent actually modeling things. Still, I don't know what's going on with all the math in most of the shaders the communities put together.
Alright, so it seems that the mask corrections was too intense, just reducing the value of the HSV node did the job. As an aside, who ever made this shader did a fantastic job organizing it.
what value did you set the HSV to? ill fix that in the next shader update.
I reduced the value to .5, but i'm having issues with my colors matching sample I'm pulling from the textures when I compare them.
The value was definately too high, but I'm overcotrexting.
might be because the devs updated the exact color RGB valus a while ago.
you'd need to convert the exact RGB-255 values to get them spot on.
time to download the 5GB tactical .blend to do this update because i lost the og files 💀

this was the first time I even touched the switch node.
I'm ashamed to say I probably spent three or four hours making that. mostly due to not realizing the if selected = true nodes could be used for factors in the bottom section. I tried to math it. I was an art major, so that was just brain melting.

also heres the exact rgb-255 values for each color directly from the game files. open it in notepad or something similar.
just got this from the default_other.pak file
basically just do the RGB-255 value, say, 150- and divide it by 255; like this
150/255 and then you get the blender compatible RGB-255 value.

it was the fcking gamma nodes overcorrecting the colors
