You shouldn't judge emotes based on "how they're used"

because that can not only change over time, but "how they're used" is specific to individual communities

An emote might be used one way in community A, but the moderator in question is a part of community B, where the emote is used with a completely different meaning.

the way to do this is to create a separate emote set for your halloween emotes, and then add them to your main set as an "origin"
Any emotes that have the same name as your main set will be replaced with the halloween versions

sets vs the ones ur actually enabling have different limits, they dont mess up with each other. Sets arent enabled emotes, just a way for you to mass add a bunch of emotes into a set without HAVING to enable them.

if you name something PauseChamp in one of ur sets, it wont override the normal pausechamp until you enable the "spookychamp" one

You can create a new emote set and name it "halloween" or something, and then start adding halloween emotes to it

If you need to, you can alias the emotes to names that match existing emotes in your primary emote set

Then, on your primary set, you add the halloween set as an "emote origin" and any emotes that are named the same thing will get overwritten (temporarily) with the ones from the halloween set

after halloween, just uncheck the halloween set origin, and the emotes will go back to normal

At random, sometimes all user badges will be missing (sub icon, mod, turbo, etc) on refresh the issue is usually fixed. After disabling FFZ or 7TV the issue does not happen. Having both enabled at once SOMETIMES causes this issue of missing badges, one or two refresh fixes the issue usually.

Anyone experiencing this issue and have a possible resolution?

normally 7tv is supposed to disable chat processing in ffz, but this isnt always reliable

Ive tampered with every setting, removed and reset everything with bttv, ffz and 7tv, tried having them enabled together in different combinations and nothing will fix having the same emote appear twice or even 3 times when I try to type them in chat

you can with Origin feature; create an emote set on their profile, then click the 🔧 on the emote set then add your emote set under Origin. Note that its auto updated, anything u change on your set get synced up on theirs too

Running into this issue again (asked about it a few months ago):
Wishing to add a seasonal 'new version' to an existing emote, files reach 100% upload and prompt page to refresh to the usual 'loading,' but assiging to an existing emote set fails... no name loads and thus the whole upload seems rejected/auto-deleted, with error "the provided hex string is not a valid objectID.'
File height/width both less than 1000p, 1 frame/static, PNG/WEBP, <<7MB, matches aspect ratio of original version precisely.

Uploading a new, separate emote with the same file works fine (same as reported here: #help-old message)

Point is I would try and reduce slots used in a case where only one 'seasonal' version will be active at any time.

Hi, I have this issue where my settings for the 7TV browser extension get cleared every time I restart my browser, I have made a backup, but loading it gets annoying over time. I have "clear cookies and site data on restart" enabled, but I added an exception for 7tv.app, 7tv.io and twitch.tv, all my other extensions are not impacted by this. "rejected personal use" just means you cannot use it for personal emote yet, nothing to do with the regular emote approval queue

If you're using origins, make sure you're doing it in the right order. The set you have selected in your "edit connection" popup is your "main" set. Then you click the wrench on that set, and then click "add origin" to select other sets to add on top of it. The origins will take precedence over the emotes in the main set, if there are emotes with the same name.

hey guys, I have a problem with 7tv for my own stream. I use OBS Studio and a streamelements chat overlay. I have a 7tv account on which I linked my Twitch account to. I added 68 emotes in an emote set and assigned them all to my Twitch account too

However, they don't show up in said chat overlay

They show up in the chat itself for users, but not on the chat overlay that's shown on stream

they however used to be visible

so it just recently got fcked. Maybe cus I added about 10-20 new emotes two days ago? But yeah.. no idea why that would disable everything

when I go to the 7tv website and "assign X emote set to this channel" and click save, nothing changes either
