however. if you are the editor of your friends' channel, you can use the Origin feature to "copy" your emote set to your friends'
Go to their profile, make a new emote set. Click the wrench icon and choose your emote set as the Origin of their emote set

with the risk of not being popular here...

so on the Chrome webstore (for Chrome, Chromium, Edge and a bunch of other Chromium-based browsers) the 7TV extension is at version 3.0.9 (dated to May 31), and 7TV Nightly, which is supposed to be ahead of it, is at 3.0.7.2000 (dated to May 16).
the 7TV website claims the freshest nightly is 3.0.10.1000, but the link still goes to the 3.0.7.2000 version on the Chrome webstore. the Firefox extension store was abandoned months ago and 7tv isn't even listed there anymore

the GitHub page has 3.0.15 dated to July 31, and nightly builds for multiple browsers, so apparently you can update 7TV if you experience bugs, but only with manually sideloading extensions into browsers. why is this approach? most of the people using 7TV expect to find the newest version of it on regular distribution channels, ie. their browser's extension stores

on the other hand, apparently a lot of the "concerns" posted here are related to the paid cosmetic features of 7TV subscriptions, so yeah

no, the latest version is v3.0.15 and the version you might see on the chrome web store (or the website for that matter) is not correct. You can see the actual version via the settings menu on twitch or kick

The reason there is a mismatch between web stores and our actual latest version is because we don't always update the store listing, as much of the extension code runs unprivileged and does not necessitate being part of the code sent to stores, instead it loads from our servers directly

So none of what you mentioned is an issue. You have the latest version. And you do not need to sideload, as what's on the github is guaranteed to be 1:1 with the nightly extension due to automated deployment

fair point with the code loading, but this disrepancy is not mentioned anywhere and that can confuse users. also, the Firefox add-on is still nuked from the add-on store and there haven't been a word about that in months neither on the website, nor on Twitter. sure you can just install from the 7TV website, but not everyone trusts extensions outside of stores. back when there was some mishandling with Mozilla, I asked the 7TV acc on Twitter, and never got a reply what was up with the extension

2 different issues

Issue 1: You cant see emotes in chat
If you have multiple tabs of twitch opened and they have 7tv, make sure you refresh or hard refresh (ctrl+f5) the tab you cant see the 7tv emotes in

Issue 2: Weird extension tab

A 7tv account must have at least 1 linked connections, so you cant just remove your twitch from your 7tv account
otherwise you wont be able to access your 7tv account again since it requires either twitch or discord authentication to login
if you want to remove your twitch connection, you are recommended to link your discord to it

from your profile page in 7tv in the Link Accounts section, press the Discord icon

If you want to access it you can right click the sign in button and select use discord to login instead

but what you wanna do is to paste the link to the account that has your discord linked and ask an admin to have it remove so you can link it to your main acc instead

How do I change the listing of the emote sets
some are displayed normally, others are displayed with Personal infront, so whenever I right click>add emote, it tries to go to Personal instead of their regular default

I have an emote and it has an animated and not-animated version, cause when I originally made it, immediately after uploading the still one I decided to try to learn how to make a gif and made it like half an hour later but it wasnt the original plan.

Anyway, when ppl add it to their channel even if they used the link to the animated version it will display the non-animated version for like the entire stream and won't change to the animated version until like the next time they stream.

Is there a way the still version only can be deleted so that the animated version is the only one, without removing the emote entirely? Its in 195 channels and I don't want to mess with that and have it vanish

I'm trying out making a new emote set for Halloween-themed emotes, and I've originated the emote set from the main one. Tried both the LTS and nightly build of the extension. Everything is fine in Twitch, and it's linked correctly to my twitch account wraeththix, but kick is linked to some fake 7TV account wraeththix_8578. Even if I log out of the numbered one, if I attempt to re-auth with my twitch account it fails becuase it says the kick user is linked to the numbered account. If I log into 7TV website with the numbered account, I can't unlink kick because it says it will make the account unusable.. which is fine to me, it's nonsensical.

For the best quality, i suggest you to resize your emote to 128 pixels high since the emote upload process will resize it to 128px in chat at max anyways

Hello. It's been a while so i forget and it doesn't seem intuitive. How do I swap emote sets as an Editor? For my own profile I just hit the gear next to my name, but that gear isn't there as an editor. Clicking the wrench and clicking Assign on the set is what I thought would do it, but that just makes that set appear on the profile page, doesn't change the emote set active... unless ofcourse there's a delay. 🤔

I guess this is why it's "Experimental", but yeh it seems like if you have your Regular emote set active, then add "Halloween Set" as an Origin, then add a new Halloween emote to the Halloween set, since Regular is technically the active set, the emote doesn't automatically update in chat using the websocket thingy with chat notification; gotta wait like 5-10 mins and refresh stream window in order to see the new emote.
Hopefully this can be fixed in future, but I can see why it'd be annoying. You'd have to make it so when a new emote was added, not only was the set added to the active one, but alternatively whether the set added to was an Origin to the current active set. shrug idk how it works. peepoWeirdLeave

Tried to link my Twitch account "NOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOW" to 7TV for emotes about a month ago. Having more than one incognito browser open at the time or shared cookies/data appeared to have linked my account(s) incorrectly. The 7tv profile picture is linked correctly to my NOW account, but the username is linked to another account of mine. Emotes don't appear to be working in either channel. I'm not sure if "unlinking" an account is possible, but I appreciate any help

U can unlink your twitch account, but read first before you do so
fyi the 7tv account must be connected to at least one platform, and it will not allow you to unlink your last connection, so what you have to do is:

1. Get a throwaway discord account, and link it to your 7tv account
2. Unlink your old twitch account
3. Link your new twitch account

Keep in mind you can login to your account with your discord by right clicking the Sign In button if you messed up after unlinking your twitch account

And don't Sign in with your twitch when it is not connected to an existing 7tv acc, it will make another 7tv acc with it instead

basically Origins is a "emote set overwrite". For example, you have a Default set for regular use and an emote set called Halloween, the emotes in Halloween will replace/overwrite the Default one, when the holiday is over, u just remove Origins and everything back to normal. It can also be used to copy other people's emote set too, but you need to be their Editor.
