giving an update on this as I found the problem
it turns out that NoScript was preventing emotes from loading, even though it didn't before v3
it didn't say anything about blocking stuff from 7TV while watching Twitch streams, but when visiting 7TV website it showed that it was blocking stuff from 7tv.io; disabling that fixed the emotes

Question about youtube: Connecting 7tv to youtube gives an error, i was told that it is likely due to youtube limiting the amount of people who can connect due to it not being approved by youtube, is there any chance that you guys could flush inactive users? is that even possible? if it is that would be very useful for people actually trying to use 7tv. 7tv is so much better on youtube than bttv that I really don't want to go back to it i try to connect my youtube nearly daily in hopes I will eventually get in..

So the fix for this is a bit of a pain.

1. go create a new twitch account
2. on 7tv right click the login button and select "use discord"
3. you should be on your account that only has the discord linked and now you want to link that twitch account you just created to this account.
4. now that you have another account linked. you should be able to disconnect discord from this account now.
5. log out of 7tv and twitch. then log back into twitch on your main account.
6. try logging onto 7tv via twitch now and you should be able to access the account again.

also worth nothing that discord sync is currently messed up so you most likely won't get the sub badge

Hi, sometimes I have this issue where the paint I'm using (Ice Cold in this instance/normally) appearing much darker in twitch chats. It doesn't do this all the time, but also I can't really figure out what causes it. Is there any ideas to what could be causing this? I tried searching for an answer before coming into here, but haven't had any luck so far. I've tried other colors, and it appears to extend to them as well. I've also tried swapping to the beta version and the problem still occurs. Lastly, I've also tried to swap my normal twitch color to a simple white to see if it would help, and that still didn't change anything

I assume what happened is when you tried to relink your account there is a bug currently where an entire new account is being created with the discord linked. if you sign out of your 7tv account, right click the sign in button in the top right and select "use discord" you'll most likely find the account your discord is connected to. if you find your account linked there below is the fix

under 40 is the reason its saying emote disallowed. NerdTyping could potentially be used to mock/harass someone and the name of that emote is the reason its getting rejected because its non latin characters

Did something change about the emote upload/processing pipeline. I uploaded a new emote as a webp and it is uploaded but processing for 15min+ now. I retried with smaller filesize and also tried with a gif but all of them are stuck processing.

Ok, I compared FFZ + BTtv+7TV 3.0 perfomance with FFZ + 7TV addon and BTTV. In the first instance, the initial load takes 100% of CPU time, images are very long to load (feels like it needs more RAM than avaliable) and chat is supper laggy and unresponsible. Then it sits at 30-40% CPU usae all the time BUT spikes to 65%.

Good news AVIF was not the issue. Bad news, on a crispy clean install of 32-bit Firefox and 7TV alone chat lags even more compared to the Edge with some addons. On Firefox the images in the emote menu took noticeable longer time to load compared to Chromium. this is fixed in 3.0.1, however that version isnt on firefox yet as they rejected it as their reviewers seems to have reviewed a completely different extension and then gave us the rejection for it

Is there a way for the tab completion without : to show all emotes that match what you type; for example with inline tab if I typed "ome" and hit tab over and over it would cycle through the matches, current 7tv one for me only shows emotes that starts with those letters. So any subbed channel emotes don't show up without putting the channel name first. : shows all but it's a little more tedious to use arrows than just using tab key to cycle, thanks in advance ❤️
