the TLDR concept of it is that itsa goose that's a normal goose in life

but when they die, they appear alive to the duck team, while they appear dead to neutrals and geese

so they'll still walk around in death, and be able to talk to the ducks

and ducks will be able to talk to them

and if you're a goose or a neutral, it'll just seem to you like they're talking to nobody

As soon as it's ready! The gaggle team develop quickly, and we release patches fairly often. We don't often give out firm dates because it's either going to be a lie if we're wrong, or it'll be a rushed product that might sacrifice quality for speed. This could translate into releasing something without sufficient testing and creating lots of bugs for the game.

If you find none of that explanation sufficient, as Herbert always says, today we are one day closer than yesterday.

As long as the meeting is called less than a second after the canadian was killed, the meeting would occur and the canadian will renain unreported

The exact same thing happens if the body is eaten less than a second after the kill, so a very well organized team with a cannibal can deal with a canadian even without the professional.

Visual tasks is as the name suggests, if the task has a visual effect, it only shows if visual tasks are turned on.

Fake tasks can have visual effects too.
Examples would be the steam in the showers, the trash ejecting, the weapons firing, the airlock doors closing, etc.

Quick question, how come some of the game options such as Proxy chat and Reveal role can only be accessed through private mode? like I understand that there might be some annoying people that can cheat and all of that, but you can simply kick them off. just so you know I don't care if this doesn't change I'm just curious.

Having proxy chat in public games would be more negative than not. Private games having proximity chat is okay since this is meant to be played amongst friends. Public lobbies having proximity chat would foster a toxic environment and I personally believe the game would be unplayable and unenjoyable. Luckily there are lfg channels where you can play with proximity chat if you do not have any friends available to play or want to meet new people.

This is something we have considered, but have ultimately decided against. We have taken the stance that if you make a private game, you are responsible for moderating it. The host will have their own rules, and have the responsibility of kicking people who they feel are breaking the rules.
Public lobbies are different in that players don't necessarily know the people in the game they are joining into. Kids might enter a game and can be harassed by others in some corner of the map if proximity chat is on. If someone is being rude or toxic in a meeting, everyone can hear it and can block their mics and block them.

So why don't we just separate servers into kids and 18+? Because a 12 year old can check off a box that says they are 18, and we'd rather prevent the potential abuse and toxicity.

If you want proximity chat, make a private game. If you need players, find a private game in the #lfg channels or make your own.

Herbert has played or knows most social deduction games, I've spoken to him about some pretty obscure ones. Those types of roles work well in certain games, especially turned based ones. GGD is one that is carefully crafted to balance the game properly. Modded Among Us for example, doesn't care about game balance, so they give you a 50+ different broken roles, with a million different options. Just cause they're fun and can be useful doesn't mean they are balanced.

There has also been talks of allowing modding in some degree to the game, if I remember correctly through the use of "Overwolf". None of this is guaranteed to make it into the game, but if it does, I feel like there will probably for ways to add custom roles to a game mode like that.

Refresh. The number of servers you see is what rooms are available at the time you searched. Some may have been in game so wouldn't have shown, some will be full so there is no room for you to join, some may be too far away for you to join (excessive ping will cause you to lag very badly) and some may simply be in a different time zone or language to you

In short, Geese want to win by completing tasks or voting out Ducks. Ducks want to win by killing enough birds or with a critical sabotage. Neutral roles (Dodo, Vulture, Pigeon, Falcon) each have their own win conditions.

I like pigeon, gives incentive to not have everyone stay in the same area grouped up, but different people like different things and that's why there is always the option to turn certain roles off

Wait so calling a meeting resets the pigeon progress? Why not let it stay and after a certain amount of time if a player got coughed on then they get a debuff to tell them they got coughed on. Also the players names being a different color on the pigeons UI if they are infected would be nice.

I mean it add a little counter play and makes a few things more clearer

If it didn't reset after a meeting then it would be a hell of a lot easier for the pigeon to win. And as far as having a way for the pigeon to track who they've sneezed on, that is up to the pigeon to remember

Pigeon was originally created to separate players and stop them from grouping. Having their sneezed on victims remain sneezed on after a meeting is too powerful

Although, personally I think the gravy update and Demolitionist are doing a better job at preventing grouping.

I mean in fairness it being op would depend on a few aspects such as the cool down for the pigeon sneeze, how long it would take for a player to get a debuff notifying they got sneezed on, etc. Though even without all that, I fail to see the harm of letting the pigeon see who they sneeze on and this is even more true if it resets.

The game is all about observation. Being aware of who you are around, where players are, what people say. It's social deduction.
The pigeon having to remember their victims is part of that awareness of your surroundings.

It's also how other players can deduce you may be the pigeon - keep walking up to people and they'll think you're looking for that one person you haven't sneezed on yet, call a meeting and vote you out.
