Depends on the context, during the game you can spectate when you're dead. If you're a goose you have to finish your tasks, otherwise the option is available by pressing R. In the lobby to start a game as spectator you can press the Ready up Button many times until you see the spectator icon which applies during the game.

there was something about being able to join games that already started also, but no idea how

Spectator mode can still be turned off.

We noticed the amount of griefing drop significantly in public games as we started giving more control to the hosts. The lounge also lets players create private matches from public ones if they are satisfied with the people in their game.

We're venturing into what people want slowly and carefully observing behavior as the game matures.

We feel that this is both the correct way to improve the experience for all players while still maintaining an heir of caution for keeping the integrity of the game.

I like spectator mode because players that disconnected due to bad internet or other reasons can rejoin and watch the game without having to wait until the game is over. And they can listen in to see what is going on.

As soon as it's ready! The gaggle team develop quickly, and we release patches fairly often. We don't often give out firm dates because it's either going to be a lie if we're wrong, or it'll be a rushed product that might sacrifice quality for speed. Ducks: U can silence ppl, turn into others, remove corpses and other stuff. Goose: Ur abilities barely affect gameplay, or ur abilities are barely useful and u almost never use them.

That's entirely dependant in the situation. Birdwatcher for instance can watch three ducks kill from the safety of the other side of a wall. Mechanic can spy from the vents catching a duck in the act, medium can tell when people die and thus determine who (based on grouping and location) is likely)/likely not a duck.

It all depends how you play with the role you are given.

Yesterday for instance, I got the assassin voted out as Canadian 30 seconds into the game without telling anybody I was Canadian at all.

As soon as it's ready! The gaggle team develop quickly, and we release patches fairly often. We don't often give out firm dates because it's either going to be a lie if we're wrong, or it'll be a rushed product that might sacrifice quality for speed. This could translate into releasing something without sufficient testing and creating lots of bugs for the game.
