I think the most you’d get is that the people wanted it. There really isn’t that much deeper of a reason than that.

They just wanna see who died, who won, and see what they got from the game. Maybe if you’re distracted and you missed the end screen, then you could look at the summary of the game. It’s also more in depth than just showing roles and who won.

The reason for the last game report is that it's a nice quality of life change that people wanted. People no longer have to ask what role each other were, and if someone who was dead got up to have food or use the washroom, they can easily find out what happened.

The devs brought it to the people, not because the game required it, but because the people wanted it. The devs don’t always have to focus on improving the game with bug fixes or updates. They like the people, and us as the community enjoys what they’ve created.

lol i was asking a general question for the reason it exists, and while I get the point of 'just because' i was stating it seems an odd choice.

i haven't seen feedback as to the update, so i was asking

plus, asking the general pub their thoughts. didn't expect the mods and helpers to jump in and answer in defense of the game

We are very active in the community and we listen to feedback.
Many were finding it hard to find the info they were curious about (i.e. "who was the pelican?", "what happened? (task victory vs goose victory" "How did they win?") in time for the end game screen so we wanted to give them a way to access that information without holding up the flow of the game.
We needed to do a small update for bug fixes/optimizations so decided to throw in that quick functionality

That panel was quicker solution than the whole UI update

It's also a nice "in between" update to give us something while we wait for the very juicy stuff coming in march

It shouldn't. Ducks that have other ways of hiding their dirty deeds usually can't vent. Silencer (hush a witness), morphling (turn into someone else), invisible (turn invisible) and esper (kills while far away).
