The host needs to enable the role and if there's more roles enabled than players, then it's just luck/chance that the role appears from the available roles

In my case the problem was with some x64 win dll (found logs in %appdata%
And i needed to install x64 vcinstall from microsoft site

Changing friend id is separate from user id. User id can't and will never change for each account.

Your friend ID can be changed, your account ID cannot.
Nobody should ever see your account ID outside of support staff and it's not something you get to choose
Your friend ID is what displays to others in the friends list, it is different to the name that displays when you play, that can be set before joining a lobby and you can freely change it as much as you like
Your friend ID can be changed for a small gold fee

No that's your player name, you can set that in the custom game menu before you join a lobby.
The friend ID is the name other players see when they open the friends list

it worked fortunately but just in case it happens again it just never opened the easy anticheat would load and say waiting for game and never open or just throw me an error message sometimes
There's a few known reasons for the game failing to get past that point outlined in #known-issues
What comes to mind would be either additional software installed and running that eac doesn't like or your computers clock may be out of sync

I cant use ggd because i apparently dont have easy anti cheat downloaded, but idk how to download it, i tried to open some kind of restart file, but it didnt work at all (using Windows 11 if that helps somehow)
Afaik it should be downloaded alongside the game. Try uninstalling and reinstalling it.

The game recommends speeds of 10 Mbps for both upload and download. If those speeds above are typical for your connection, you are likely to have difficulty maintaining a good connection to the game servers. In some cases a VPN may help.

Hello friends, so whenever i open GGD firstly (and I'm not sure if this is a me issue but anyways) on the home screen there is no custom game option and if i sign out then sign in then there is but then whenever i get into a game it says error then i press quit assuming i am going to get put back to the home screen but if i do press quit i stay in the lobby then if i go to settings->return to lobby i go into the loading screen and nothing happens and i can still open settings so then i have to close GGD and every time i try again the same steps happen so any ideas and sorry for such a long paragraph

As long as both speeds are consistently above 10 Mbps, you should be able to maintain a stable connection. I might next try rebooting the router and modem and see if the issue persists

Hello, I am in need of some help.
I have been trying to start up ggd for the frist time. It acts like its going to load, gives me the little gaggle studios thing, and then its just a blank screen after that. it stays like that for a good minute and the just closes itself. I've already followed both guides that they have on steam (getting rid of gaggle folders, unchecking version 6). I've tried checking my speed and I'm well above the upload and download speeds, I've done the verification process through steam, I've updated my drivers, i have no idea what to do.

Anyone ever had the issue of achievements being completed in steam but not in game? I only have one GGD account, have never had another one, so I'm not sure what could be causing this discrepancy.

No, no one else has direct access to my steam or my computer. I do use steam family sharing for games with someone in my household but we don't share devices, ever. Even if they did play using the game from my library on their own GGD account I don't think any progress would be shown/given to my account. I also am 100% sure they don't play GGD, sadly, lol.

Goose Goose Duck is supported on Windows, MacOS, Android, and iOS platforms. Linux has never been an officially supported platform and if GGD was playable on linux in the past, it was a happy accident. The team is constantly working on improving the game. Linux may or may not be supported sometime in the future!

If you were banned it would tell you. Internet speeds can fluctuate. It is possible when you were able to play, your network had higher speeds.

no, but you can see what roles players had in the previous game once back at the lobby by clicking the clipboard icon in the top right. I believe the hotkey is tab
if you wanted a history of role selections, you could graph your info on paper or notepad etc, using this

I am unable to get the game to boot. I have tried several different things and it crashes while loading. I have changed to IPV4, deleted everything Gaggle in HKEY_CURRENT_USER, I have redownloaded, updated drivers, restarted my pc, tried downloading to a different hard drive, and more and I can't get the game to run

Exiting and relaunching the game will fix it. This is one of a few reasons why I find it to be a good idea to develop a habit of exiting and relaunching the game when things like that inexplicably go wrong.

If people hear you while using push to talk, you may need to adjust your mic input sensitivity settings for open mic
I think my game counter is broken I totally did not win more than 90% of my games . I'm achievement hunting and only found it now. I'm annoyed.
This may be because leaving a game in progress, whether or not you died, will not progress any achievements and invalidates any reward you might have gotten during that game you left.
Though that second half currently doesn't matter as tokens and crafting materials currently don't exist.
I never left any games even when dead because I do all the tasks for achievements
I actually play for hours in the same server
Are the numbers the exact same as they are in the achievements section in game?
Sometimes there is a discrepancy, especially when playing on multiple platforms.
And even if you only play on steam, sometimes steam is just weird.
I'm achievement hunting and if steam is not registering them there is no point
I wonder if it will update with the ingame achievement
Not sure, but you will get the achievement in game as well as any awards it carries, even if steam itself does not track it properly.
One thing you could do is keep working on the hunt, and if and when you unlock an achievement in game, but it doesn't reflect this on steam, you could use Steam Achievement Manager. It's a program that lets you unlock (or even un-unlock) achievements directly. While yes it does allow for cheating, it is also really nice for when an achievement is bugged, isn't tracking properly, or is for one reason or another completely unobtainable.
And even if someone S.A.M.'d an achievement that they didn't rightfully get, I do not believe it would reflect this in game. So cheating won't do very much anyway.

Restart did not work. Sorry for the vent but my last achievement hunt was in among us and it had 200 games and 500 tasks. This game has 5000 games and 25000 tasks. I don't care ingame, but if you are adding such grindy achievements on steam at least make them work.
The intentions with the achievements' lengths was that it was designed with more long term encouragement in mind ("oh I already got everything, nothing left to do here now" vs "Another day, another little bit of progress."), but I do understand and also feel the frustrations that causes with regards to hunting, grinding, speedrunning, etc.
As for steam's problems with the achievements displaying wrong, I couldn't say which one of the hundreds of possibilities is correct, but hopefully it is a case of when an achievement completes in game, steam immediately corrects itself.

Neither do I, but it is there. Only time I used it myself is with the "Get X views on youtube on a replay you shared" achievements on TF2, since whatever system they used for that has been outdated and removed, making those achievements literally unobtainable through legit methods.

I was one of the first players, since the gold coins were still available I had spun many times and couldn't. get black wards, until they are converted to dust, when there is enough dust I can't get black wards, the admin really knows how to tease players.
The dust shop is on a rotation, keep saving your dust and you may find them in rotation again

When I was playing with Macbook, I usually played with Plato vpn, but after switching to windows, I tried other vpns because I couldn't use Plato vpn, but none of them helped me play the game. Including both free and paid ones. I disabled ipv6 from the settings and entered two proxies into ipv4. It helped me start the game, but this time I can't logged into the account either. hello my friend is having issue with microphone but JUST in public lobbies in private lobby we can hear him normally but when we are in public lobby his microphone just does not work... does anybody have idea what could be wrong ?
Are they using Linux? I have a friend who also has this issue, but they run the game on a Linux OS. (Which GGD doesn't support. I don't know a lot about Linux but I know that the anticheat aspect of the GGD game is what bugs out a lot with Linux)

I had a quick check myself and I see a single lobby in hangout mode available to join, so it's possible that there's just not a lot of active players at the moment.
I do see one lobby recently advertised in #lfg-english-over18 if you are okay joining a private lobby, it is marked as an 18+ lobby

Hello! Has anyone encountered this problem: after updating macOS to version Sequoia (15.1), my voice sounds like a “robot” when playing GGD with AirPods. Before the update, on version 14, everything worked fine and my voice in GGD was normal. This issue only happens in GGD; in Zoom, voice recorder, Discord, etc., my voice sounds normal. A bug report didn’t help. Could it be due to some OS settings that I might be unaware of?

Personally, I've developed a habit of closing and relaunching the game when this happens. That'll fix it 100% of the time. 😄
Sometimes I just close and relaunch the game if I plan to leave a lobby, go afk for a minute, and then return back to the game just to have a fresh run of the game so I won't have to worry about that being an issue when I resume playing.

If your device has any noise cancelation or echo cancelation features, please disable these then see if the issue persists 
only application using that is discord and i tried it with discord closed. Still no result. I tried uninstalling-reinstalling, verifying files and all, no result.
Many gaming headsets will often have a physical switch to activate/deactivate this feature, or software on your computer where the feature can be enabled/disabled. If your device or the software has this feature, please try disabling the feature completely and see if the issue persists.
Not using a gaming headset tho. The mic i'm using is the hyperx quadcast. Only application using echo/noise cancelation is discord and starting the game with discord closed didn't solve the problem. Also, i used to play ggd with discord on before and it worked perfectly fine. But this problem occurs once in a while and then disappears.
My mistake calling it a headset. I would still look for and disable these features if available and if the issue persists, reach out to the support team

Consistently receiving error "System.Exception: Failed to connect. Please try again.ClientState.JoiningLobby." when attempting to join a custom lobby after joining another. Custom lobbies will not show up until I first host my own public or private lobby and then try again (Only when first booting up the game). Some oddities include occasionally seeing double of every lobby in the list once the error box appears or no lobbies being listed after the blue loading animation flashes for a couple seconds.
The only remedy I know for this is to restart my game after the loading flash, briefly host and leave a lobby and only then will I be able to see lobbies in the list. Otherwise skipping the second step will lead me not seeing any lobbies being listed.

hi, i have an issue i was wondering if it is known to you guys. i was in a no mic lobby, typing fine, being read by others just fine. But when i typed "youtube effect" and hit send, it came up as all asterisks, (censor is unchecked). Whats worse is that it then kept me from typing and sending anything at all! No one could read me. So i backed all the way out of the game and web browser, logged back in, went into same lobby, everything was fine, until i said the "youtube effect" again it did it. It was all asterisks, & i couldn't be read after that until logged out and back in. So i tested this in other lobbies also. it happened over and over.

there is the option to use it. how ever no sound is coming through.

I've had this same issue as well, it seems to go away if you host a lobby and will persist after throwing a specific error once you leave a lobby and attempt to rejoin another.

This is a graphical driver failure, and happens when your DX11 drivers write the wrong resolution to your registry.
If you are using windows, type WINDOWS+R to open the run window. Type in “regedit” and launch the registry editor. Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE, delete every folder with Gaggle (Gaggle Studios, Gaggle Studios INC, Gaggle.Fun, GaggleStudios). Be careful NOT to delete the Google folder. Relaunch your client, and have fun
There is nothing with the word Gaggle in them at all
If you do not have any folders with Gaggle in the name, I would try uninstall then reinstall. What platform are you trying to play on?

If you want, before a full uninstall, you can attempt to Verify File Integrity by right-clicking on Goose Goose Duck in your library, then Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files
If the game loads properly after this,

Hello, a friend is getting the error "the game you tried to join is in progress of locked". When they attempt to join, they are there for a second and then get booted. We've tried reinstalling both GGD and steam but no luck so far
Is it possible the friend is new to GGD and the lobby is set to level 25 or higher?
Not new and lobby has no extra restrictions except that it’s private. They returned to playing after a few months off. We figured out yesterday it’s likely their computer since they were able to log onto mobile and a different computer
There could be firewall or anti-virus protections on the first computer preventing them from joining lobbies. Glad they were able to join on the other devices

Connection speed looks fine. This game was previously working on my laptop yesterday without a VPN. In fact using Norton 360 for gamers Auto Vpn caused similar behaviour.

Friend is in lobby, is inviting me but when I try to get in via code, invite notification, or on the Find Game bulletin board, it says "Uh Oh! The game you tried to join is in progress or locked." And it won't be in progress, they will be waiting for people to join.

I am having this same issue. I played for the first time on July 20th of this year, and it worked fine then. Recently reinstalled to play with some friends and have been getting this same error. I have tried turning off IPv6, going into regedit to delete folder created for GGD, deleting and reinstalling the game, restarting my router, and this is my speedtest results. I was wondering if a possible cause would be me changing internet providers recently but I do not know how that would be a cause.

I play on mobile and I could play it fine for months, but ever since right before the new year, my mobile can't make it through even spectating without disconnecting. My Internet speeds test at "excellent" so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've tried on different mobile devices and continue to have the same problem. I was able to play the game with no problem a few weeks ago, but now it won't run. No new apps have been installed that would stop it from working either.

I have game installed on Steam. After clicking "Launch" button it switch to "Cancel" for ~10 sec and to "Launch" again.

heyyy.. i don't know if this is a known issue or something but i just attempted to launch the game, got a failed to boot error, and my computer proceeded to bluescreen. my internet was completely fine?? the only thing i can think of as potentially having happened is that i had discord and firefox open at the same time and it overloaded the memory or disk of my poor device

Im not sure if this is a discord or goose goose duck problem but when sharing screen it doesnt share the audio for goose goose duck. Other applications do share audio so it’s only a problem with this game. We’ve restarted a few times and it still doesn’t work. Has anyone else had this issue?

If you're using steam, an update will be queued, and if you do not see one you might have to restart your steam client. If you downloaded GGD from the gaggle site, an updated version will have been uploaded. Thank you for your patience!
All players will need to be on the same version. If others cannot join you, they likely need to close their client and update

They must also be on the same version. Mobile app stores sometimes take longer to push out the update. Clearing the cache in the app store may help speed it along.

i am having the same issue on pc, my daughter can access lobbies as normal on mobile but PC through steam its not showing any lobbies and when i join her it says im not on the same version
Try fully restarting steam and you might be prompted to update if it hasnt already

After the newest update, I cannot join any matches/it is not matching me with anyone? For a few seconds my cosmetics do show up but then it changes to this green banner and not having the clothes I have equipped.

When I try to Host Game set to public, it never seems to show on the public lobby list and nobody can join unless they specifically have the room #. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I have him blocked it’s when I’m being told by multiple other people in lobby’s he is trying to be me or saying stuff about me that isn’t true at all we have always had an issue with this people for over a year now and I’ve put in a request on that helpdesk before about getting 2 people accounts banned who was coming into lobby’s sayings slurs nothing was done about it

GGD neither tracks nor records your personal information such as location.
i cant pick the German language at search filter just bc it bugged and picked random language i restarted the game 5 times and i re installed it 2 times at all my friends games they all have German as searching preference
if you are scrolling, it will scroll to the bottom of the list (thanks for pointing this out, will make a note) but if you try dragging through the language filter list you should be able to select your prefered language 🙂

This is a graphical driver failure, and happens when your DX11 drivers write the wrong resolution to your registry.
If you are using windows, type WINDOWS+R to open the run window. Type in “regedit” and launch the registry editor. Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE, delete every folder with Gaggle (Gaggle Studios, Gaggle Studios INC, Gaggle.Fun, GaggleStudios). Be careful NOT to delete the Google folder. Relaunch your client, and have fun
I'm Korean, and when I sell a room, I think there is a bug that the room is visible only after the room manager leaves once, and when I sell a specific map, the room is visible only after I select it on the map, so I struggled to find a way for an hour. Also, when I write manners in Korean, it changes to another word. I hope you can fix it.

my internet speeds are more than enough, i did not have this problem before. i had just redownloaded the game to play with friends and im not the only one with this issue, ive also tried on my ipad and the same thing happens, just a loading bar that doesnt move an inch. im guessing it must be a bug or problem within the game

Ty for answer. I'm sure my network works correctly, there was no such problems before, it started a week ago may be. I played through VPN but I also started having problems with it. So, as i mentioned before i wanted to ping it through cmd or pingplotter to find out where is problem.

There are multiple factors that can cause disconnects, ISP service provider, network routing, regional restrictions (not by us), etc. Some have found VPNs to resolve their network problems.

The video appears to show you successfully logging in, but I can't read the language when it gives you an error.
Does it mention anything to do with being blocked by players, as per the latest update? Perhaps the host has you on their block list?

The first message that pops up is the usual online play message and the second says that something went wrong, click the i button for more information.
Could you click the little button in the bottom right of that screen when it pops up, it will have additional information about what went wrong so it's easier to work out where to start

Okay those didn't work but this is what worked for me if this problem is had in the future.
Step One: Open command prompt in admin
Step two: Run the code "sc config TermDD stop = system"
Step three: Run the code "sc stop TermDD"
Step four: Go into your files to C:\windows\system32\driver and find termdd.sys
Step five: Delete termdd.sys
I saw that solution online but did not want to suggest that as it is a more technical solution than many would be comfortable with. Thanks for following up and letting us know what worked for you!

the highest my upload speed can go to is 1.2
