Like when I made a video on my original youtube account, got locked out of said account for years due to a bug, and finally got access again only to find some random company had copyright claimed it and monetised it. They'd been making ad revenue off it for years and they didn't even have a legit claim. It was just a company that claimed videos as their business.

At the time (I don't know how much this has changed) disputing the claim meant the company in question could dispute my dispute and get the entire channel deleted. They had all the power and they knew it. I still get comments on that video to this day. People like it. I worked hard on it. I decided to leave it up and change the description, encouraging people to use an ad blocker on it. I didn't want to risk losing it forever, because the original was on a hard drive that died, so the youtube upload is all that remains of one of my favourite projects.

And that, my dear Palians, is why I don't make videos anymore. 😛

In English, if you write an Email to a group of people you go "Dear Sir and/or Madam"... but what if you know that there are some non-binary people included (like... if you send an email to several people at once, especially in a formal sense)... how do you write the gretting then? @next nimbus Use a descriptive term that doesn't rely on genders. Dear Sir and/or Ma'am feels antiquated to me, anyways. Dear neighbors, dear customers, dear deer, etc. A "To whom it may concern" can probably fit if you want a similar vibe, but I'd avoid it in correspondence. I guess this only comes up in a scenario when you don't know the people you're emailing, right?

To avoid binary in addressing people in letters such as cover letters:

• Dear Hiring Manager
• Dear (organization name) Team,
• Dear Hiring/Interview Panel
• Dear Selection Committee

For more general messages "Dear team," "Good afternoon everyone" (these are more casual), "Hello, IT team, it's me again following up on that issue.." (very casual, not appropriate for all contexts and depends on how well you know them but doesn't require you know how they identify)

Frequently I use a person's first and last name (both) to address them if I do not know them in professional correspondence, and I see that method and/or NO specified address (e.g. only stating "Good afternoon" as the oepning)

Design on a Dime is kind of niche, and I don't know if it's still running anymore. I like to watch it for project ideas and layout ideas for virtual houses (like in the sims and acnh). To clarify, when I opened the palia server today (have been a member and have been messaging for about a week now) I couldn't send any messages with out providing my phone number, which then prompted me to enter in a code, which then then prompted me for my password.
