As we've been modifying the household diet, we've been finding that the usual method food companies takes has a tendency to directly cause problems with other diets. Can't heavily rely on coconut or cashew milk due to the very common nut allergies, but that's what many have been doing in recent years.

Yup, actual allergies means being extra careful. Same applies to some foods that use oats. Have to aim for gluten free tags since while oats don't actually have gluten, they are too commonly processed in the same facilities.

When I did cooking at school they taught by method and gave you options for the recipes, "rubbing in method" but the choice of Scones, Apple Pie, etc for example. I think it really helped with recipe adaptability.

A lot of Asian cuisine can be hard to get adjusted to if your palate isn't too wide. A lot of dishes have strong spices and pungent flavors lol

So the local belief about werewolves is that lycanthropy never involved bites. It's a form of ritualistic magic. To become a wolf one must craft a knife all by themselves, go into the forest at night (no need to wait for a full moon), find a stub and stab your knife into it and then hide your clothes somewhere you can later find them in a wolf form because otherwise you will stay animal forever. Then you flip over a stub with a knife in it in one direction and as you land, you are already a wolf. After you had your time in animal skin, go back to your stub with a knife, jump over it in an opposite direction to what you first jumped over it and find your clothes to become human again.

Its common in communities outside gaming too. Anything with a decent sized following. I talked about my last job a little, but any time there was a small change (mostly in our TOS) there was such an uproar we had to start actually removing people

Although I imagine there will still be competitive people here. Humans always have to have e-peen measurements. So you will likely see people belittle others for how badly the decorate or something along those lines

I also think another thing that has led to an extreme rise in toxicity with gaming is ease of access to the internet i.e. twitter, twitch, discord. It's easier to type out emotions and express bouts of being a grade-a asshole when you have online at your fingertips.

It has been really nice to see such a positive reception to a game like Palia. It'll really be a beautiful thing to see it flower into total community based game ❤️

in fairness, it's difficult to connect with people beyond the screen unless you have a rather high level of empathy. Without the ability to connect with someone it's really easy to not view them as another person but rather just another object you need to interact with. Which can in of itself lead to resentment and create hostile behavior.

I think that's why some who have that empathy are so incredible for being able to put themselves in the position of just being open to those beyond the screen. indeed which is in part why when a community starts to become toxic it is so hard to reverse. People that have the level of empathy required to really foster a good relationship beyond the screen also tend to be the most sensitive people so they tend to be the first to leave when toxic behavior starts to show up
