I find that is the risky part about a game that is focused on community. How good or bad it is, ends up in the hands of the community. Which can turn things sour very quickly. Trolls gonna be trolling. and griefers gonna grief. And trust when pvp isn't available people will try to find ways to pvp without actual pvping.

that really depends on the game systems available for them to exploit. Can they build? They might try to build a wall around you so you can't get out. And because you can't pvp you can't break their buildings. Can you build anywhere? People will use barriers to block off resources.

I tend to agree. I usually like Cosmetic Shops, but for a game based on social interactions I'm not sure how I would feel about it then. Cosmetics is important in that case because that is where prestige is shown.

I just don't understand this idea that you can't enjoy the experience of a game without flexing on other people in some way. There will always be people who don't like the idea of microtransactions in a game, but sea of thieves, for example, is a game where it's pretty much just cosmetics and them putting in a paid shop hasn't hurt the game at all. Proud of a cosmetic you unlocked through gameplay? Great! Willing to pay some money to get a cosmetic you like? Great! I really don't understand how someone paying for cosmetics can affect someone else's enjoyment of a game
