the game does seem to be leaning into the decorating aspect more than anything else, and theyve openly stated they’re moving away from the mmo category (at least for now.) so in that way, it makes sense that the only stuff there really is to spend gold on when you’re capped is decor-related. (i mean this outside of the other means of obtaining cosmetics conversation, but also don’t want to derail it.)

it does end up excluding the folks who like the game for non decorating reasons tho.

Yeah thats one of the thing why ppl are leaving palia cause they dont feel heard after they complain for bugs and want and answer. I hope most know and anoying bugs are getting fixed with ew. Cause if they dont fix it i dont see a bright future for the game. Cause i dont like the way they always gave us small content update with more bugs then fixes to them.

And then this number doesnt give you any reward when its high. Wish they would give us some level progression like with higher level we get better lot from things we do. Like with gardening with lvl 25 you only harvest star fruits but you still can get none star seed from the machine and idk why this is the way. Even the marmalde glas stops when you are at 30/30/1 even if you can only get Star Jam from Star Fruits. There are so many little things they need to adjust and we are telling them since the beginning but yeah i hope with ew and after that we get a lot of QoL Patches with a lot of Bug fixes.

Yeah but i hope they use it this time better cause as the game started it was good they had a lot of good ideas and talked to us we often got log in boni and ingame events like apalooza but they could make this more often like every time they gave us a new plushie make an apalooza and give them us save even one would be enough. But then the revenue wasnt that good they fired a lot of ppl who was in lead of those things and now its kinda yeah we do 0 to nothing and dont talk anymore with you. I hope Sony recognizes the potential of the game and give them some money.

Hi, I blame Palia for causing overheating in my laptop /j. The best advice I can give is using a laptop cooler, opening the game through Nvidia App/GFN and try not to have settings higher than medium on. In my case, I had to get a thermal paste replacement too since it had been years since I had done any maintenance on my laptop. So those things helped a bit.

Unfortunately the game isn't very well optimised and it's kinda hard on laptops.

It does for me, at least. I know many people also play the game through GeForceNow (though it has a subscription and a free version) but I can't speak on how well it reduces overheating. But a good cooling pad and having the game on lower settings helps. Foliage is also one of the things I turn to a minimum.

I'm one of those players who couldn't really give a flying fox about plushies in a game where I farm and fish and mine and craft - I just would like to see some more balanced rewards that cater to my play style, rather than going almost all-in on players who like collecting plushies and discord stickers. A big difference between exclusive plushies/stickers and exclusive cosmetics/wallpapers are one can be traded in-game. If new players miss out, they can still get it. Getting a wallpapers or items that future players would completely miss doesn’t make as much sense.

Yeah, it's not a problem with the twitch rewards themselves, necessarily, but simply a problem with how much of the game's rewards/incentives as a whole are centered not only on "home decor" but a very specific subset of home decor, aka 'collectables' (plushes and palian funko pops)

A big problem right now is that the game as a whole severely lacks non-decor earnable rewards that aren't just some form of stepping-stone-material that leads into home decor. Relics are coming in EW, at least, so that'll be something to look forward to.

But if I had to make a suggestion.... perhaps rare items that're required in the bundles, ones that people struggle to obtain? I know a lot of people struggle with fishing in particular and it's the one skill category where you can't help others catch fish or share loot through partying up, and it'd be really unfortunate to be locked out of EW's story (requires completion of all bundles) due to something like that.

The lack of non-decor earnables is a problem because people want to be able to show off what they earned outside of their home plot, too.
Outside of nameplates, there is virtually nothing that allows an accomplished player to visually set themselves apart from someone who just got out of the character creator 30 seconds ago.

I only just now realized I had a ping in here, so I do apologize for the late reply. Tarina hit a few points that I intended to bring up myself, but here's my thoughts.

It's a bit difficult to state what all I think would be appropriate rewards for players like me without re-opening some old cans of worms - not the least of which is the issue with the cosmetics/pets being paywalled. Please do bear with me!

As I said, the game's entire core is centered around the gathering of resources and crafting. Fishing, hunting, cooking, farming, etc. I'm one of those players who largely just prefers doing these, while following the storyline now and then.

• Care packages of some decent items to aid in our skill activities would be something nice to receive now and then, for those of us who do like occasionally hitting the grind (fishing and mining, etc)
• Care packages of actually rare materials, for those who can't spend hours grinding for them.
• As Tarina said, some of the more difficult items to help complete bundles/quests.
• Unique nameplates/titles
• Universal dyes for outfits

And, to touch on that sore subject I mentioned: the potential of cosmetics or even pets. Accessories, single pieces of an outfit, perhaps a less-flashy pet. Perhaps on the rare occasion, something like small amounts of Palia coins. Unfortunately, I highly doubt S6 would be considering these last few, but I think it bears putting the forth the idea anyway.

And, like Tarina said, it'd be nice if players could have something to show off while running around. Plushies and furniture only work so far a housing, which is not necessarily something every player enjoys.

With all that said, I am not against repeat rewards, or the return of rewards. I deeply appreciate when a game brings back any kind of item for players to nab. Let people have their plushies; we just want a more diverse reward bundle that better caters to the playerbase, and their different preferred aspects of the gameplay.

It definitely is a really weird grey area, which I think a lot of folks have a hard time with. Especially because there are some things that does make ppl feel like it's 'cheating', while others may view it as a help for accessibility. Which I think is where a lot of the issue resides (imo).

Like, some stuff is definitely hacking/cheating, but then the ones that make it a struggle (imo) might be viewed as help with accessibility. Trying not to say too much since we're not really allowed to talk about it here, so trying to be.. a little vague

Don't need to apologize. It's a really confusing area for a lot of folks as a whole. Especially since Palia is in this weird area where it isn't competitive, but some folks still view/feel like it's competitive!

We can't go too in deep about it but the gist of it is: stuff that is exploiting the game in any way, is cheating and forbidden. 3rd party tools that aren't necessarily that are not condenmed by S6 but they can't publicly condone them either because of security reasons/etc.

Different people have different opinions on what "cheating" entails and what's not. There are some things that definitely border/cross onto that, but others can be seen as tools for accessibility. It's a grey area, but I'd go with the message Ori linked before to go from that.

As long as it's not exploiting the game in very unfair advantages, I'd say it's fair game.

support in tech as a whole is a mess i know i seem to have had good experiences with palia’s support in comparison to other folks, but i would say the disconnect between the studio and support isn’t unusual.

the seeming disconnect between internal communication is i think the bigger problem. but that’s an outsiders perspective.

Several people on the palia server yesterday were telling me that using that app is not in fact cheating. To me that means that it is not a rare occurrence for players to use that app. But I don’t understand how it’s not a cheat. Fine, doesn’t matter for resources but when it comes to bugs it gives unfair advantage against people who don’t use it

I always tell people if it doesn't affect my game play or gives someone the ability to grief or aquire items outside of the normal means, let them be. I'm not the game police, I just want to play the game in peace. Some people don't see the same fun in grinding for hours but some of us are geared to power through my partner is amazed that I can grind for hours without getting bored of the game just to have to grind for more materials later

That one that shows all the bugs, I can understand where people feel that way, since of the plushes, and for bundles. It's where I wish, to make it a bit better at least in some ways, it works when you use a buzzy jar but is in an area around you. I mean, I just want a minimap already in the game, and to have it work that way, tbh.

I struggle with the compass a lot (in any game, directions aren't my friend), so having a minimap helps me a lot. And if you use a buzzy jar or whatever, and it showing/highlighting things in an area around you would be really nice.

Precisely this, yes. Specially in a game where there's pretty much no competition. The little competition there is, is entirely artificial and only because people are trying to grind for plushies. But I blame that on game design more than the apps. Even before it, there were people solo farming or "hoarding resources".

As long as it's really not meaningfully impacting anyone else's playing experience, it's fine (like the people cheating at the market minigames).

Because there isn't one. All the resources respawn. I get your point in part, but having played other similar games, it's really not that deep. Resources respawn, you can switch servers, there's no limited quantity. I take more issue with the inflated RNG systems that contribute to that "competition". So I hope you can see it from my part too :)

But items despawn so people have the ability to get it more regularly... the resources in this game are infinite. I never have to compete with another player to get Dari clovers, it's luck of the draw whoever gets them first. I don't blame third party apps for me not finding resources, just means I have to grind longer to stock up.

i understand they respawn. but maybe its just me. i had days where i could peacefully farmed and found everything because few players present. and i had days where there were lots of player farming or hunting in a "good" way and i felt constantly behind them.... it is a terrible thing when you keep seeing pal nodes and they despawn constantly because im not in the same "rythm" with the others

I think that just comes down to personal views. The game is designed in such a way that there's little to no meaning if someone's ahead or not. I know someone else is likely going to have more resources/plushies than me ajd I just accept it and move on. That's just how multiplayer games are.

Truthfully, someone could be using a compass and just are a few steps ahead of you. It's not always a 3rd party program, just rng sometimes. If I go to the store and they're out of my favorite soda, I don't blame the people who bought it ahead of me. I'll just get it later when it's back in stock. At the end of the day, it's a game. I do agree there are many systems in the game that would simply be better off being different, specially with the groves. But like Elikahn said, it's really just common to see in any other game with shared resources/open maps.

i know because i also use those items. its clear when someone knows "more". i saw many times where i didn't see anything on compas but a player next to me went to the next rare spawn . i only saw it at the compass when i got close enough. i did follow many players like that and i know its happening. i wont push for this. i dont want to be bad vibes.

I don't know what to tell you 😕 I can see things on my compass faster then my switch friends because my pc can load quicker 100% of the time. If you don't enjoy the game because you don't like people using 3rd party apps, that's something I can't change or anyone on here can. Sorry you feel your game play has been impacted to such an extent because of them, I never had that problem. I don't have a solution since people will continue to use them until S6 implements software that bans them.

And this is where the 'grey area' comes into play. It varies from person to person. I personally don't see any real competition-- however, the only thing I'd argue is bugs because of the plush drops. It's why when it comes to that, I fully can understand folks points.

However, when ti comes to mining nodes, or picking herbs/forageables, it's hard to say it's competitive when they are on a timer to then despawn. You never know if someone already has mined/picked that (aside form seeing it start to fade.)

And for flow trees, i'd argue it's not only bc there are multiple ways to get said material. (groves, flow tree parties. they also spawn relatively quickly in my experience).

For the minimap stuff, i just wish that would just get implemented in the game, in ways that i suggested earlier/above.

It's just a struggle cuz again, some are genuinely helpful for some with accessibility reasons 😓

I argue plushies are only competitive due to the rng numbers in order to drop one. Someone can get it on their first while others are in their 1000s. I don't blame the spawn rates as much as I blame the fact to get certain plushies, you are at the mercy of the game, not player skill. I know the map will always spawn a Dari clover or the PH sernuk will respawn 30s after it dies. But a plushie? Some days I might get 7 and sometimes I'll go a month without seeing one.

I think there would be less general use of 3rd party tools if there was a true focus on accessibility within the game (adding a minimap, providing more contrasting visual options, etc vs just "lets make the UI bigger")

It would probably help with some, yes.

Just going to give like, an example as well: I play WoW with addons, some of these are for ofc some QoL, but some for accessibility reasons, like: helping with making the UI helpful for my needs (without it randomly resetting, cuz for some reason, on WoW it does that...)

There's also some to help give me notifications of things I might otherwise miss, due to me being distracted a lot, or struggling with audio, or something similar-- and that also helps a lot.

I probably wouldn't use as many in that game, if they would adjust or fix some of those issues. Which they have slowly been working on-- so there's some people I know who don't use any UI addons for WoW because they started improving it and making it more customizable. And I'd argue it'd be the same here.

I genuinely wish the plushies had some sort of pity system/bad luck protection, or being able to accumlate specific reagents/currency that you can turn in for a specific plush of your choosing. (same with Zeki lucky balls).

Honestly having a pity system or using the guild system to trade in materials to get rarer things like plushies would be lovely. 10 RTBs for a plushie or something. But it won't happen because people will lose interest in the game. MMOs rely on the grind mindset in order to keep players and give them something to do. It's not realistic for S6 to implement a easier system but they could tweak it to make it less competitive for the rarer spawns.

The audio in Palia has a lot of issues. I've tried to suggest (and still talk about it) about adding better audio sliders, along with an visual audio thing. Similar to Fortnites. I forget the actual name, but here's an image for referenace/as an example

It's something I've been trying to suggest since the beginning! I know it's something that will take a while to implement/figure out (imo), esp since it'd be fully new...

But I still hope they will start to help separate some of the audio sliders some more. Like, the waterfall sounds are frustratingly loud compared to others (for example). So it makes it hard to hear the bobber if youre fishing nearby.

And iirc, there's some sort of slider that is attached to the fishing bobber sound as well (cant remember which one), which also caused issues. So here's hoping it gets improved in time.

You need sound when fishing or even Grove spawns. You can tell what direction it spawns in. Also for when bugs get startled, ladybug spawns, there's quite a few cues I miss out on by not having sound.

Could be helpful for, like i said earlier: people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or just prefer playing with the audio low or off

we don't really complain about them monetizing, they have to. it's the way they went about doing it. they don't scale the price very well for other currencies (someone posted where the basic 5 usd set of coins would be nearly a months worth of pay in their currency or something like that). we complain that there's nothing for the f2p players to work towards as far as clothing because everything is paid only and clothing is the only way to show your achievements without having people come to your plot. things like pets (as of right now probably will change next patch) can only be cosmetic without having any player interaction as far as helping (like gathering items) is a massive miss as well

i’ve said it before but if you want super flashy stuff like they have now in the premium store, that’s great but i think f2p players at least can have a freebie skin (preferably for each skill maybe? )have them cost an amount of guild coins/require a ..idk 50+? or higher level to get them. maaaybe once each “final temple” or whatever is completed we get something that looks “adventure/“ or something but super basic no special animations or vfx with them.

To my knowledge they are in the "forgotten item" bucket. Along with that 1 ravenwood item we don't talk about, the watertower that may or may-not still be in the works. That bar of metal that was in the trailer for the 2025 maji-market.... a whole shopping list of things from the beta trailer that they decided to show footage of yet again in that "30 Minutes of Gameplay" that GameSpot released a couple weeks back.

I could go on... but I've already spent more energy on this than I should have during my sabbatical. In a nutshell - this is my not so subtle reminder that players who don't subscribe to this "plushie lifestyle" [as S6 puts it] exist, and the more they lean into the plush only giveaways - it they miss out on all the people that could honestly care less about plush. Or who honestly - are just tired of the over saturation of plush items.

It's where S6 collabed with a drink company to release their second "exclusive" plushie. Their first one was the Chapaa Pillow plush. The pink maji however is only a "time-exclusive" we found out a few weeks after the release. So people were under the impression they'd be getting an "exclusive" in-game item when realistically it's just a early release as S6 has said the pink maji will be released in the game at a later point. Different item same, but same design.

I feel so "great" about the 1500 hours to come home to a plot I can't fully customize with colour tints that aren't retched or have 5 different variations of the same tint that don't even match depending on funiture type. Some berry furniture might be pink, others purple. Alabastor might have a green tone or a pink one while having its name misspelled. You'll be lucky to have a full green Calathea tint without the pink. I just want some consistency if end-game is literally fill my house with things I grind for that people might see occasionally But instead we get the fun-guy plushie in a yellower tint

People have been asking for a F2P-earnable pet for ages because they want pets to have gameplay features, but ever since the courier pet thing was 'leaked' in the game settings with no sign of an earnable pet in sight, people have been very worried about S6 possibly breaking their "no gameplay mechanics/advantages behind paywall" promise.
(you could argue they've already stepped on the line with paid plot landscapes- home tours have rewards based on how many people react to your housing plot, and a paid landscape can make your plot more visually appealing than one without, and therefore more likely to 'wow' visitors into reacting....)

I saw a few different ideas that i really liked and they got me thinking more. I saw someone say something about being able to earn the Palia coins or outfits I think, or get them as loot drops at a 1% chance or something. I was thinking about that and what if there’s separate pieces from the magic creatures. Like a hat, shirt, pants, that are themed for that specific creature. Or coins dropping at a super low rate too. I feel like I’d want to spend money if I could earn small amounts of coins to get me close to however many I need.

I remember seeing someone talk about themed outfits for the skills also. We could have a similar concept but earn each piece at certain levels. Even if it’s one piece per 100 levels it feels like a decent incentive to keep going. I love decorating but plushies aren’t my fav so I don’t care a whole lot to hunt for them but if I had to level up for the outfit pieces I feel like I’d put a lottt more effort into those skills.

Or even super simple outfit recipes n to craft with the furs and stuff

I've seen a few concerns with that courier pet item on the settings ( I personally never go in settings so had to take a look when I saw that mentioned ). My take on it, which might be wrong, is that it will be another tool we get to use when we run out of inventory space and similar to the free trip home every so many minutes, without the need to find a travel board you can pull out the courier pet which might be a reward you earn via a quest or discover it etc, to ship out the contents of the bag line you chose in the settings back home so you can carry ont getting more goodies for a while longer. It might have a time limitations or like the other tools use whenever you want. But, it might not work the same as the pet you buy that travels everywhere with you. It might be one click and it appears and almost immediately runs off in the distance before disappearing.
That's my thought on it anyway. Benefit of the doubt.

Easy fix to the courier pet. Provide a free version. It doesn't negate the paid ones. As they can still be considered cosmetics. Like how the elephant glider and the witch broom glider is cosmetic, from the regular glider, but looks and operates slightly differently .

That way it won't be blocked by pay wall.

don't forget that you can also use your crafters as extra storage as well. i have 3 sawmills, 2 glass makers, 6 smelters and 3 looms, one dedicated to each of the items that they can process (silver and gold share a smelter since i don't ever have a lot of those) might need to increase the numbers when EW drops, but this way you can have 4 stacks of items inside, 3 stacks ready to be used for crafting whenever you need to and the unprocessed still available.

also helps that you don't need to stop a process in the middle when you are in need of another item

They’re quite common actually, someone else might be ahead of you and mining clay too.
You’re just arriving likely at the despawn time since they hit those nodes.

try finding all the nodes, mining along the lake side by the boat house, behind remberance hills, around the lagoon, including the bridges of small islands along the lake, and then cross the river towards the smaller stream towards the Maji Market area as there can be 1-4 nodes there too.
Alternatively, you can try switching servers if you’re not finding nodes. Server sync to a friend if they’re in Kilima but not your server, or return to your housing plot and come back to Kilima to see if it puts you in a new server. You have joined a new server

Palia is a (mainly) plot/home decoration kinda game but I really wish that we could customize the houses even further, like put stuff diagonally. Add 2 or more rooms to one side of the house and make it so it doesn't have to be right in the middle. Have the ability to make tall houses/2nd floor or even a basement. Circular/hexagonal rooms.

Essentially what Tempest said, though if you want to avoid fishing or gardening at first, you can also try cooking parties. Seek for free roles that recquire no ingredients first (like oven or spreader in cake parties) and then you can move on to stuff like joining sashimi or sushi parties and overprep with rice/garlic.

And of course the passive income from pickles and jam.

I would plant crops, spend all day and night breaking every mining node in bahari, come home sell, some, keep some then water my plants. Ths bugs that pop out from under the nodes sell well too (if they don't disappear into the ground first). Rinse and repeat.

I sell all my pickles/jams, I'll ocassionally run around chopping down trees only, then once my inventory is full, returning to sell off all the wood. Not a whole lot for the wood, but it slowly adds up. I've been doing a lot of fishing lately, have two left to catch, so I toss all of the fish into the bin to sell off as well, aside from the few I keep for cooking. And oh yeah, after going after insects just for silk thread, the insects get sold as well...unless I get a starred one that I don't have in my collection yet.
