yeah they said they fixed it and then immediately in the next update it breaks again. I get it, 99 bugs in the code, patch one down, 157 bugs in the code. but still? the patch notes are so bad. Everyone who touches anything in the game should made a log of what is done and combine it with an editor for the related patch notes. You know, how everyone else does it? It would go a long way towards bugs getting recognized and fixed in a timely manner

Honestly unsurprised it's not been fixed. I am used to stuff like this on The Sims and EA in general, but it really sucks even more in Palia because of well... everything that's transpired. Apparently some people over on Reddit are reporting that they've been reaching out regarding the crashes and are being told it's because our hardware isn't good enough for the game. Like I have an Acer Predator Helios with an RTX 4090 and it ran this and at least six other tasks no sweat at any given time, do not tell me that my computer is not good enough lol

I know this happens quite a bit when players try to reach out to support in regards to some issues. I know there was someone who was reporting the white flash between loading screens, and got told the same thing. That it's our hardware.

Especially since it seems like communication is, what appears, lacking and struggling between departments.

A recent one that's become a bit of a point of comparison to Palia lately, is Infinity Nikki. Granted it still has some optimisation issues, but they're aware and working on it. And the game still runs better than Palia ever has (at least on PC, I know mobile is another issue entirely)

The difference is at least the other games have made tangible efforts in optimising and communicate with players. This update was meant to have some level of optimisation (iirc) and it has been one of the most disastrous by far.

Usually the issue that comes across most other games now, with UE5, is more potentionally optimization issues.

I find Fortnite fine. I haven't played Nightingale recently to make an opinion. Ifninity Nikki is overall okay, but it has had optimization issues (esp this recent patch/update).

Which makes me think/believe that you can work on getting some of the bugs/glitches squashed. Just optimization might be even harder.

I'm only playing on a Steam Deck, but they've told me that since the game isn't yet Deck Verified that I can't expect things to run perfect. I love my Steam Deck and it runs the game way better than when I was on Switch, but I never really started having so many issues until 2 updates ago.

Other people definitely deserve to play the game too. However, I do, 100% believe, that it should of waited to release on switch (and for other consoles in the future) until they work on optimization, and bugs. I honestly think, releasing so early on switch, has limited them with trying to work on it.

Well, maybe not work on it, but releasing hotfixes to try to fix these issues (since they have to go by a schedule via nintendo, iirc). And I'd imagine it's even harder to figure out what's breaking on both platforms.

People asked for a very long time about what happened. Was it on purpose? Did they not mean to reveal that because it wasn't done? Is this something that was intended to be released but then there was an issue?

No explanation ever came. Until a few months back when folks finally got WC to answer and it turned out that there never was a VFX toggle, they never intended to provide one, and we don't know why that note was in the patch notes.

The toggle is needed for flashy skins that harm disabled players so that they can play without being harmed by the flashing.

As much as I love Infinity Nikki, the gacha system is still very much predatory. But like you've said, there's is a vast difference, specially considering the fact Nikki does give players free rewards/contents and you don't need to pay to access all cosmetics.

Oh, yeah. That isn't what we were trying to say either. F2P shouldn't, definitely shouldn't be expected to be like this, at least not by this much. Other F2P games I play, you can at least earn things, without feeling pressured much or at all to pay any funds. (Nikki, Star Rail, are two that come to mind.)

A lot of this is definitely not great, and in some cases, feel like theyre really trying to stretch the "F2P" label/genre by a large margin. And that is what we mean by like... it's very noticeable here. It isn't an excuse, at all. I make an analogy a lot with Tug-Of-War to explain the balance. It's very skewed, and feels, for me, that the F2P side of things in this game, is slipping and into the mud... while the paid aspects, are holding onto that rop and pulling it to the side. It's unfortunate.

They saw a tangible decline in player base (and therefore, profits) so they had to go back on their words. Its still not great, as there is a clear decline in quality in some areas, but again, they were pushed back enough that they had to listen. S6 basically gives the message they don't care to listen.

Ever since learning from the AMA that earnable cosmetics were basically never going to happen, I never paid a cent since.

Since I saw exactly where things would wind up between me and the game from that point onwards:
I'm a cosmetic collector, not just for outfits, but pets, mounts, etc on top of that. I love chasing goals in a game and earning cosmetics I can show off. If there are effectively zero earnable character cosmetics (yes I know nameplates exist, but they're a single drop in an otherwise very dry bucket) then I would have zero drive to play, and if I'm not playing, there's no reason to pay for stuff I won't even be logged in to appreciate.
Home decor rewards just doesn't scratch that itch at all because it's all isolated to a housing plot that you have to effectively invite people to before they'll ever see it, and I'm not going to just walk up to people and say "hey want to see my trophy room-I mean my house?"

There's just some stuff from SDV, that i would love in Palia or would take inspirations from. Crab Pots, is also one. Since you can leveling up your fishing skill in SDV by doing that, so you can make it easier and stuff... and SDV has a "training rod" that you can use, that also helped me a lot with the minigame and to level it up, too.

Where's Roan at. He loves talking about SDV-related mechanics (and then we talk about how that could work in Palia or even be an improvement to help some skills, etc.)

There's a ton of fish that just... don't move. You barely need to do anything. There are some that are ridiculously difficult but as you increase your fishing level and upgrade your rod you get a bigger bar / tools to help slow down the decay and such to make it easier!

yeah, fishing in palia wouldn't be quite so problematic if you had other, alternative methods to getting the things you need for bundles, etc.
The maji market would've been a perfect opportunity to have NPCs or even players set up, yknow, market (it's in the name S6, come on, do it) stands where you could trade for things you need, but find impossible to obtain yourself for one reason or another

example trade could be like: einar requesting a ruby, and offering a unicorn fish in return, you could make the trade even if you haven't obtained a unicorn fish of your own yet

Man, the beginning of 2024 had some of the best content drops.
Game had just come out on Switch, and then later gets released on Steam, so there were so many new players.
January update had a bunch of new lunar market decor, and new crops.
February (delayed to March 1st) update add the entire Paltech, Gourmet, and Flotsum sets, plus the pavilion and new wallpapers!
March added temple of the roots, which game people their own flow seeds, added flowers, spring fever set, and more Emberborn.
April gave us the court yard, ammo pouch, more flowers, and the start of plushies from hunting
May gave us the Grand Harvest house, books, pavers, and building blocks!

June is where I think things started to get worse. We got, different types of building blocks, but we also got the mess that is the underground hotpot, and the first force group only obtainable things (Grow All Out).

July we got the summer set, and plot tours, but this is where things started to just trickle in slowly over the next few months. Lucky to get just one partial set, if that. July until the end of the year felt like one big lull.

Yeah, people were expecting Elderwoods end of March/beginning of April, but they pushed it back.
When exactly isn't clear, but I think people are now thinking this summer (if lucky), and there's been no new quests except for the "prologue".

From what they said in that dev update, I was expecting we'd get more friendship quests. I think we only got 1? With Helika?

It's clear that trees and other global items have been that way since the beginning.
It wasn't until around Jan 2024 that the community really became aware of it.
Nothing has been done about it since. As far as I'm aware, they've not even acknowledged it.

Any time I have seen support communication around this issue it either gets misconstrued as a different issue by the support people (goes to describe the way flowers have their own count but also apply to the plot overall decor count, which is decidedly not the same thing) or they're told it's "working as intended" I've literally not once read a support ticket confirming or saying they would pass on the issue at hand. So we truly can't even call it a bug like you said even though it certainly feels like one!!!
