Yeah, but some people hope because there's no skill cap or anything. I wouldn't mind a wipe specifically for those, personally.

Because it makes it feel like, at least to me, EW isn't as special bc it'll be a lot of hte same stuff, skills are already super high for that content, etc etc.

Many of us have been playing since beta so we have no content, really. Or we got locked into a choice we didn't want with no way to revert it.

Obviously wipes would need to be optional though.

I took a break in the middle of last year, excited to return to new content to play. It's completely insane that this game still has players online and people aren't losing their minds about there being zero content updates since nearly launch but over 184 cash shop updates in that time

So sad to see so many of these super promising indie games fail to laziness. At the end of the day they try to sugar coat it and say it was money, or time, or too hard. Anyone that has ever worked with a game engine knows that it would take a team of like 3 devs 1 week to make a new zone filled with content, since the content in this game is just items to pick up and decorations. This is one of the easiest games to develop of all time and they're still too lazy to do just the bare minimum it's really sad

Communities in my head I think of like Ac:CF — work together as a group towards a goal with rewards. Neighborhoods where all of your houses can be seen. Etc. or a guild house.

It’s most likely not laziness as they have had to lay off more than half their staff so I don’t blame them for failing on many aspects but it’s still disappointing. I remember a time when they actually communicated about stuff and not just drop updates on us out of nowhere.

These types of issues almost always boil down to how the game was initially coded. Most companies outsource sections to lots of places, then end up breaking code on every update because someone did something without telling someone else and everything went off the rails.

While I agree that layoffs are tough, to put it bluntly, I've played solo developer games that were developed in less time, play and look better, and get more consistent updates while maintaining far more complicated systems to update.

They already have all of the templates done for development. To make a new decoration, they have a single artist make a 3d model for it in an hour or two, then you import the model, literally click checkboxes to set what kind of pre-configured decoration it is. And you're done. An entire new decoration in less than a third of a work day. 3 decorations a day = nearly 100 decorations a month for 6 hours of work per day with 1 artist and 1 dev

To be fair, I don't think it's really much laziness on the devs' part. Reading the GlassDoor company reviews there are certain... Challenges with upper management's priorities and wishes that basically keep things from actually getting done.

Think, things getting done and redone 3+ times. I can't imagine how demoralizing that would be to keep getting your work thrown back at you saying it's not good enough, do it again.

i hope so and not just limited to the area where the shepp is, maybe have them go on a type of pilgrimage type thing, to learn more of Palia as a world their going to live in etc , not too long a quest but a good size

I almost envy that you came in after they went from 200+ employees to 36. It was incredibly painful to lose those people, especially the Community Managers, and many of us are still not over it.

They talked a bit more during closed beta, early open beta. Or at least, the CMs did. But it started to drop off after some CMs left or got laid off. & I remember the communication being kinda...

Idk the word. Not the greatest, I guess? not long after steam release. And then it got even worse over time obviously when all the CMs were laid off.

And even then, I sometimes could feel there was misinfo/miscommunication happening between the teams (as in the CMs with the others). Which is fair, and can happen, but yea

I've always felt that what can be achieved by glitching should be enabled for all players. It should just be properly added to the game as a decor option rather than float/flick/ghost whatever the heck lol. I understand that requires work on the devs' side of things but if players can do it on their end, idk why the devs can't.

The devs have said they don't have a problem players glitching, so just let me put a book on its side without using a bowl pls

It's sad the color changing skin works only with that dress. It should let you use the color changing regarding what we wear 😭

The outfit animations and special effects should have their own slot, not tied to an outfit.

Being serious for a few moments, my thoughts after reading the patch notes:

• Some of the new furnishings aren't bad. Niche uses, could be better maybe, but still not bad.
• I can see the bridge pieces and connection pieces and such being useful for quite a few folks.
• The awful joke ruined any joy of having a sign posts. Bad taste. Just comes off wrong after community first was gaslit about the snail and didn't address it for many months, then they made a joke about it in a trailer and blog posts which annoyed a bunch of people, and then they keep at it. It's like a desperation to be cool and hip, and also trying to make it seems like something fun when really it wasn't.
• Mystery Outfit Gifting. Call it what it is, it is a loot box, you just can't gamble towards yourself (unless you do it via alts or something). Optional or not, it is effectively real money gambling, in a game for 10+ year olds.
• Quest changes look decent, assuming it doesn't break stuff even more.
• Social sub-menu changes, fair enough. I can see it being useful for some people.
• And then there's the usual gigantic part of the patch notes that is dedicated to premium stuff (which also got a second dedicated section in the mystery gifting part too).
• That April 1st outfit is a joke in itself, the biggest joke being it actually costing Palia coins.
• The other noted bug fixes... I'm hesitant to be positive about it. It's good they've focused on fixing some crashes for Switch players, but a bunch of this feels too little, too late.
• Known bugs list is too small because transparency and honesty isn't something they know how to do.
  Overall, as said, there are some good things, but once again overshadowed by the usual bad shenanigans of S6.

I'm not even upset at them having a good chunk of Premium content. It's the manner in which they push it, the ways in which they try to monetize it and make it sounds like something great when it is not. So many people have given feedback here over the months and more about how the current ways aren't good, and what would make them more willing to spend money. But they never take any lessons from that, they always have to find ways to make it worse.

If the sticker pack was not opened it won't go to your collections, it basically goes missing but it's still there. It is a bug. No news on if it's being looked at in this patch.

so normally when you place pavers, they randomize each time you place them. they have different shapes and sizes, especially the non-plank ones. so if the pavers are fixed, it's possible that the pavers you already have placed will randomize in size.

I don't think that this will be the case, to be honest. The size seems to be determined at the time you place them, so if/when the issue is fixed, the game will just see existing ones as placed as that certain size; there would be no real reason to adjust them post-placement.

I stopped playing on the Switch when I noticed that it was now available on Steam, so I'm on day 3 of a new game. My house on the Switch is so decorated that the game crawls by at about 10FPS at the best of times. If I leave my avatar just standing around in my garden for a few minutes or so, the game drops to about 3FPS. It's insane. Porting to the Switch was not the greatest idea. The hardware simply cannot handle the game properly enough.

I'm leaning into that. A lot of our issues began when Nintendo was suddenly a part of all of this. While I do love how many switch players get to come play with us, it's not fair to any of us. The console can't handle the game well, and because of that PC players kind of get a nerfed experience too just to keep the bar low. Some of the skills on the Switch port are incredibly difficult. Hunting and Bug Catching in particular were maddeningly difficult. Motion controls would fix the issue, but they didn't go that route, or at least hadn't at the time I stopped playing on Switch.

Good example. The example I always use is BOTW. Archery works extremely well in that game because of motion controls. Trying to do it with just the stick is obnoxious.

I don't blame you at all. To me, a roadmap is the difference between an actual game and a scam (not calling Palia a scam, but that's what I've seen from other early access games). I'm an older gamer (90s gamer kid here LOL) and I've never supported early access games because they all just seemed like scams. I only started supporting them maybe a few years ago with My Time at Sandrock and Coral Island. I was more than impressed by how incredible they incorporated the player feedback in their games. Now that's my standard, and it's concerning to see a MMO that people have invested hundreds of dollars and hours not provide the same amount of transparency and community investment.

Once again pointing at League, during the time they removed the free hextechs, champion capsules, honor capsules and the discounted skin shop, they saw a drop in players and therefore, money. They actually showed the data showing the decline during those few weeks.
