Alright so I've been trying to get into these cake parties but realizing I need like 20k in gold just to get in due to the 2 non-ingredient spots are always locked.

Someone suggested selling tomatoes in abundance to make quick gold but the bok choy sells for more... so do different crops have different grow times or am I missing something on this.

Cheapest way to get into a party are sweet leaf (harvest in the wild for free) and fruit frosting (just need apples and sugar)

Lol, see I have the opposite approach: DON’T sell every little thing because you’ll need it for a quest at some point. 🤣 I don’t hoard stuff, but I definitely have 1-2 of every bug and fish in my inventory. The rare/epic/legendary ones I’ll hoard, especially starred ones.

@bright river I say play the game that feels right to you. Any fish, bug, cooked food, or gem that is star quality (a yellow star icon is present) can be placed on your plot as a decor item.

rolling over makes sense do reduce fomo if someone can't play the week the market is available, but it'd be nice if they reset quarterly (with a rotation in theming, prizes, and/or booths too? just a little bit) or something so that you had 3 weeks to try to get everything while keeping it from getting too stale

I have the copper chest because I just haven’t gotten around to upgrading to the iron one. I remember when the iron chest was 100k, so the fact it’s now 50k…I’m hoping it’ll drop again.

Pebbles, being locked out of recipes (pal tech radio and wall lamp), launcher glitch. Nothing gets fixed. Nothing gets addressed, and gods forbid you send them feedback pointing that out, then you get accused of being 'disrespectful' and they threaten you with a ban or a suspension (I told them go ahead, and see how much I don't care about it....and the CSR backed right down! lol)

This is why their cash is drying up, why they've had to lay off most of their staff (which starts a vicious cycle of not being able to fix things or produce new content).

Which means they don't care about the player base, while still begging us to buy over-priced, fugly cosmetics that don't even fit the lore/theme of the game. Which again, starts a vicious cycle. They're investing too much time and resources into making these cosmetics they can't get enough people to buy, and then they can't keep paying staff.

Honestly, I love this world and I would love to see the game succeed, but I predict it will get sunseted in a year if they don't do something drastic.

Chappa chase was almost impossible for me. Too many people playing, many of them invisible, and no chappas appearing.

Kinda frustrated that there are only two "games" per night, when comparatively you could just play hotpot games back to back to earn as many tickets as possible.

you have to go to the registers and buy items with your tickets (zeki, reth, hadori, or delaiha). you get a chance of getting a token for the claw machine with each purchase, with a guarantee of getting a token if you purchase something for 6000 tickets

I think they need to add back hot pot to make farming tickets easier for the amount of people who are allowed into the market. It’ll disperse people between at least two activities that are running simultaneously.

When that was going on chapaa chase was a lot less crowded last maji market.

You could easily get 20 or more chapaa without having to compete for it. I think by removing hot pot it kind of pushed the chase into being wildly competitive again.

Yeah, the chapaa chase is annoying. I have seen people behind me loot before I can, and I have a solid connection. I don't get it.

The animation cancel isn't really needed for the balloons, I only do that trick when hunting multiples in a row.

Also, don't forget to watch Twitch steams with a linked account. You can get 4k tickets that way.

YES this. A huge part of my disappointment is how phoned in and unexciting this feels. Like, why even bother? A nine (in game) hour window of time, and only almost 2½ hours of it are filled by activity. You can't make enough tickets to spend very much time shopping, so there's no reason to hang around before or after, once you've finished the few pitiful quests. Less than a third of the time is occupied in any productive or interesting or fulfilling way.

Of COURSE you're bored. How could you not be?

More than that, though, a lot of this is just a straight up copy of the first market. Even kenli's dialogue is exactly the same when he comes to your plot to invite you, and at least 2 of the quests are repeats.

Especially when the ONLY gold sink in the game seems to be Zeki gambling which doesn't really have much on offer and MOST of us aren't hugely keen on gambling for the chance at like 2 items they like in a pile of stuff they don't.

Like only reason I'd zeki gamble is if I hit gold cap but I'd probably stop playing before then because I'm probably not earning anything enough to feel like I need to keep playing and grinding

And Maji is just a 2 event grind at the end of the hour. So like, I'm not really logging on between the time for the event

Really wish they'd focus on some big ticket buildings or like, add another plot we can sink time/gold/renown into...like one in Bahari with a different layout and access to ocean fish or something....especially if it comes with a new house building style

I found it. It's on the eastern side of the map at the docks, close to the drums. I was expecting a register, which is why I didn't find it. So far, I've been at this market 3 times (the last 3 hours), and it's definitely very lack lustre. Hard to get tickets, as in it take some time, nothing to kill time when you're not popping balloons or doing the chapaa chase, which is terribly bugged.

I'm glad it's for a week every month because I'd be so over this mundance market for a month straight.

Maybe with trading and Elderwoods there will be some more content to get people back but IDK, seeing the track record over the last year I'm not holding my breath.

Like what should we even do with the reown and gold? They can't even add sinks with the new content (when ever we get that) because new players won't obtain these amounts.

I hated the first market, playing chapaa chase on NA only was ... an experience. I skipped the second (LNY) one. And i guess I won't really do much this time around. I am missing one or two recipes, i'll get them, but I wont waste so much time for one decoration item.

And after that, yeah back to not really something to do, yeah when i am bored i may decorate, but the limits of the housing make that quite boring/annoying/unsatisfying too.

Yeah, feel like they need to focus down more on decorations, I get they are making the Elderwoods map so a lot of the art team is focused on that but, imo, if they want decorating to be the "long term" of the game...having literally 1 house style in various sizes is not going to do really anything to satisfy that in players when MOST people's houses look nearly the same. Everything is color blocked with nearly the same items, and because sets are so different you really can't blend that much.

Overall, they really need to focus down festivals/events and decor...specifically housing shapes and looks and more furniture.

Like, you can have a house turned every which way but it still all looks like a Harvest House...especially when THEY REQUIRE THE HARVEST HOUSE to even place ANY building at all.

I think that's fine, but I think it still doesn't really satisfy basic drives for expression if the endgame is decorating only. Like I am big on decorating and that's usually my "endgame" for a lot of games even if they have other options, but like...once I hit the flower cap and back to decorating interiors and limited layouts I check out.

Like more landscaping stuff would be great, especially de-emphasizing housing entirely because...frankly...the housing is bland and limiting. The building blocks is too blocky for me though, not my vibe. Maybe if they had more pieces and shapes. I frankly just want to live in a hobbit hole but that's not an option

And it also doesn't account for temp-workers. When they are smaller scale they tend to just spend more money leasing out labor to other companies which makes their numbers look smaller but expenses higher. As companies get bigger they start onboarding a lot of those expensive logistical positions which makes the number go way up but the dev team stay relatively similar in size

In either case, comparing a team working on a game for who knows how long at (generously) "300" employees...vs companies that can have teams of 1000+ over a decade +inhereted assets and work from preivous games is ridiculous, at face value...and why I said some games just are never going to be able to keep up with full timer gamers...unless that full time gamer comes in 10 years late on a game that's been slow churning content

There is literally nothing Palia could do to suddenly attract full time gamers other than tacking obscene grind goals onto the game which just make casual gamers angry

Either you wait till the game is like 10 years old and has 10 years of content and THEN play it as a full time gamer, or you just accept the fact the dripfeed is going to be slow and casual because that's just the rate at which they can put out content.

I just personally have an issue with their content priorities...mainly the plushies and outfits prioritizing things that have literally nothing to do with building the world of the game, the lore, or the setting. It's just cutsey garbage to fill a loot table and literally nothing else useful to anyone but that crowd. Like we still don't even have profession themed outfits for core skills. Half the props and flowers in the game still are not accessible on the plot. They did a bunch of object recoloring for the Fall map but we got ZERO of those things to play with on the plot

Yeah, as someone that enjoys plot decorating, the limits are terribly frustrating, and not even the item limit (that's another story). I think the colour schemes are very unrealistic.

I would love for there to be ZERO collision. I wish we could rotate objects full 360 degrees on the X and Y axis. Glitches and tricks aren't for everyone, and some are difficult to understand. I'd like to be able to do all that without spending 5 minutes on one item to get it in the right place.

Yeah, no clip mode, and things snapping to walls if we want them to...like flowers. Why we have to go through the building blocks system to rotate an object more than just one direction is beyond me...there needs to be a full sphere tweak mode that allows you to move items on a grid any direction and clip into any other object

The housing system in general is hyper-limited as well.

Not sure how it exactly works, but I don't think they changed the colors manually. Looks like some filter over the whole map. Take a look at the apple trees at the farm, aint no way someone colored it by hand like that.

And the game they made should never have been put on the Switch at its tier of visual quality. They should have focused Playstation first and waited for Switch 2...legit everyone complaining about the game being buggy and crashing and bad are ALL on switch...and the MAIN entree of the game (how pretty it is) isn't even visible on Switch

Like say, a new profession needs items from Elderwoods to start. Or a new house style built from Elderwoods materials, or the community map is theme'd around the Elderwoods and has the entrance there, Etc. Little things that hold up larger gameplay adds and because Elderwoods is taking so long those things are just sitting and waiting or being deprioritized and they are just throwing in random little things to hold the line till it is done...like "here have a greenhouse with no way to customize it"

I do, personally, think they'll ruin the whole thing by dripfeeding Elderwoods SO HARD that nobody joins the game who is new because it's never large enough looking of a change to attract players back or bring in new ones.

Like I'm expecting it to be like "Elderwoods is here" and then it's like...not really you need to build the bridge to get to the other part of the map so come back in 3 months when that is done but for now here is 1 new resource you can farm.

Generally if you can grow it, it needs to be star quality. Meat + forageables don't. However it's your party and you make the rules. I've seen hosts ask that the meat be star quality. Forgeables can be really hard to get all star though.
As for it running smoothly... that's always a roll of the dice imo. It really depends on the people there and the mood of the group lol, especially on this recipe.

Of course! Like I said, this is a great way to make sure that the vibe in YOUR game is mostly what you want it to be, but also doesn't cramp anyone else's play style. There's nothing inherently wrong with either way, or any of the others you'll find in the player base. Some people are solo players, and prefer to just chill on their own most of the time, only coordinating with others when it's absolutely necessary, or when they choose to. Others really get into the community feel of some of the group activities, and it helps them recharge or relax or get whatever it is they're looking for from the game, to be social and involved. Some people like to help others in various different ways, all just as valid as the rest. Some just want to be left alone to vibe with the game or obsessively decorate. I know more than a few people who basically only fish, aside from cooking parties USING the fish.

There are loads of perfectly fine people on my block list for mostly small seeming reasons. Whatever it was, it's bc it affected my game in a way I did not want to deal with. And I'm much happier for it.

Hotpot was meant to be exclusive to the Luna New Year Maji Market Festival for thematic reasons, and then we kicked up a fuss so they gave it to us in the Underground. We only had the chapaa chase last year to occupy us at the regular Maji Market so it's nice that there's a new thing to do, but I can't help feeling like there's too much downtime between those activities. I would love to see more mini games added as the Market Festivals go on. We need a reason to come back every month!

it's also a market place/festival. where's all the game stalls? why can't we have game stalls where you can win the prizes instead of a prize wheel or claw machine? we have access to the bug bag and fishing rod. why can't we have where we need to use the bug bag to knock down bottles or like one of those shooter games (bug themed, the higher score you get the better the prize)? what about having the "goldfish" fishing with the rod?

I wasn't able to fish at all for about 9 months due to a tiny UI change they snuck in last September. I couldn't believe how much of the game was off limits for me! Since a workaround became available I still haven't quite gotten back in the habit of fishing. I played without it for so long I just got used to not doing it. Once I was able I sort of scrambled to do the temple stuff and some of the bundles I missed out on, and the lingering quests in my tracker, but then I just carried on with what I was used to doing.

The rng on fishing is a bit harsh for my tastes.

If you do the twitch drops you get 4000 tickets from those and a potato pod. Have to watch fur ten hours. I just plug my phone in, pick a stream and ignore it. Just check every so often to make sure the stream is still going.

That's the unfortunate reality we've seen from the game, and it's hard to know what they mean when they say things because we don't have a community manager to collect concerns and send them to the higher ups. That actually depends on the studio and the game...I can name 3 F2P games that have been successful for years on years...all of which I play. Granted they also have pay versions, but they are primarily F2P games with paying being an option. They're a lot more successful than you think they are.

apparently, pokemon is going after palworld for patent infringement (though we don't know what mechanic they are going for directly), and a lot of other monster catching games use either the same or similar mechanics to palworld, so not sure what's what with that. (also note, that it's a patent infringement, not copyright infringement by what i understand)

I'd say that pretty much has to be either "you used our code" or some fine detail of a mechanic, broad mechanics would need to be entirely new to be patented which I'd say is unlikely to be the case.... I wish they'd publish the patent that they believe has been infringed.

Not only are pets doomed to forever be 'useless' because S6 decided to make them exclusively premium content, they also 'robbed' the game of an entire type of earnable reward/incentive to play in the process.

There is a difference between "we monetize cosmetics as our business strategy" and "we painted ourselves into a corner where home decor is the only type of 'cosmetic' that will ever be earnable, because we decided to paywall entire item categories instead of doing the sensible thing and deciding 'premium or earnable' on a per-item basis"
the only other earnable options we have are nameplates (forcing people to beg for and/or 'trade' reacts) and fishing bobbers (lol)

And fishing bobbers randomly change all the time, at least mine does. And honestly, name plates are laughable. Like how many employee hours were wasted coming up with this. I get that some people like them, but if they'd never been created, no one would be howling for them to be included in the game. So instead of real content, we got that. sad noises

unless they make something similar to Oerba Yun Fang's attire from Final Fantasy 13 (design wise and give us a black version of it) there's nothing i'm willing to spend money on as far as clothing items go

honestly at this point its not even about "free to play" or "premium" anymore, it's about making a game where people can decide what goals they want to pursue, what rewards they want to chase
In other games, some people collect clothing. Some people collect pets. Some people collect housing items. Some people collect mounts, etc etc.
In palia, the only thing you can collect through gameplay is home decor, and that's the problem

maybe i'll take a bit of a break to play minecraft or fae farm for a bit

That's what boggles me about removing the gold buying option for those items in the market. After you buy all the housing plots you're allowed, and build on them, there is no gold sink in the game. None. Except Zeki coins, which half of us don't bother with. Games NEED gold sink, and they just painted themselves into a corner there, because once you've maxxed everything, why bother logging in to grind anything?

ever since S6 got bought out this game has gone downhill and fast. it’s supremely disappointing. the new owners aren’t giving it the attention it deserves. i miss the old staff - the engagement, fluid communication to players, hotfixes, and quality of life updates are sorely missed. i won’t be logging in to this game until something is done. the neglect is actually crazy.

and the continual focus and push of plushies and clothing is super out of touch and weird. it seems there is zero attention to player feedback.

The poke bowl is one of the more profitable items to cook with rare and above fish, and is often used in for profit cooking parties for that reason. Otherwise, they're only attainable at the market so they're a couple of the more "rare" recipes to have, at least until they made markets monthly

Also some villagers have the recipe foods as weekly wants even outside of market times, if that's important to you

I will say the one thing they got right was the fall foliage in Kilma, it's just gorgeous but again, the cracks in the foundation are obvious since they weren't able to code to for Bahari too and the difference is jarring.

Devs testing the waters to see how many whales and fomos they have for their prospective investors to make a decision if it is profitable enough to keep developing it. RNG games are determined by the microtransactions. It is what it is the bizz model for the industry. You can grind away for mindless entertainment and another makeshift something or another, that you already have duplicates of. lol Enjoy the game it probably will belly up next year cuz it my humble opine the new devs aren't really inspired with this game. Whole lotta krapp not much sustenance.

I've played some excellent early access games, but it is hit or miss. And a couple that started out well, got sold, and now aren't as much fun. Not even talking about Palia. But the good ones I've played make it so I'll at least consider others.

Granted, it turned out to not be the case this time because housing tours were designed terribly and people just trade reacts, but if they ever turn it into an actual contest, yeah people with paid plots -will- have an advantage in something like that because the fancier premium plot will 'wow' more people than a plain old default plot would, and get more votes as a result :x

It was probably more of a sale to stay alive that S6 went through...in other words, instead of appealing to the players through something like Kickstarter they decided to get an investor that now dictates how they spend their money. Even the makers of the My Time games still use Kickstarter, and they have a publishing deal...there are devs that get the player base and devs that don't...and some in the middle.

No, but literally everyone in the underground thread hadn't seen it since July and it's become a big issue. I personally haven't seen it since before then. Blank spots where it should be sold keep loading for a ton of players now.

You get tickets for the balloons you pop and you get 0.3 tickets for the balloons that everyone on the server has popped. The discrepancy between 139 and 257 may be a lag in the count or a bug. I hope this makes sense.
