If I ever got out of line, even though we are friends, I'd absolutely get the smackdown and I respect that.

A level of trust is being placed by the community into the hands of a moderator team. When that trust is broken, it can be incredibly difficult to regain it - as in the case of this community. Removing the sources of that distrust however is a good first step.

I think it’s only fair to be skeptical for the future of moderation given the distrust we’ve all experienced at some level or another - myself at least, im going to attempt to offer the hope that things can change

In any community there can and will be bad actors, this can include leadership sometimes unfortunately, but that’s why it is important to vet for the ability to be impartial and fair as much as possible and I have personally seen it being taken into consideration. We are all human with biases and misunderstanding and whatever else affects decision making, but there are definitely some good eggs in this group. Time is needed to demonstrate that though as words and reassurances won’t mean much until people can see it firsthand but I have seen a handful of the mods in action elsewhere and it’s good stuff.

Also use apps like Glaze and Nightshade to “poison” AI datasets if your art is stolen, but when watermarking using a social media handle to watermark gets people banned as spam in a lot of places but a nice relatively transparent overlay pattern that ruins the art for merch and knockoffs helps.

I have learned a lot of fun techniques by seeing what other artists do! I hide my initials in the art in some really subtle spots, and often utilize the lower quality version with slightly visible overlay pattern ones but a friend of mine loves to find funny ways to incorporate their persona into it like changing a brand name on a sign to their name or putting their own face avatar as a character in the background, etc.

Having a garden plot limit when you already have such a low gold cap is dumb.

After a certain point gold is meaning less in this game. I've spent 10 Million gold total in this game. All of it rather pointless crap to avoid hitting the cap. I'm running out of things to buy with my gold.

I have all the plots, I have countless buildings (most all unused). I've bought hundreds of Zeki coins, currently hoarding about 300 of them.

There shouldn't be any worry that players are going to make too much gold if they have 20+ garden plots if all the gold they get from it is rather worthless in the end game.

yeah mostly, and things that yield more as seeds produced to seeds, so.... potatoes and rice, I still use a very old cake party layout from september, yields a good amount of money, and a good source for focus food so blueberry jams

Nice! I have an 'everything' garden so not really optimized as for money, but just so I always have everything on hand for cooking. And all excess I turn into preserves. Should look into if I could make more money as seeds then preseved with certain things tho. Never really cared enough to do so hahah.

as far as I know, only bok choy and potatoes are best as seeds (but I use potatoes to pickle for regular worm farms)

Ive been using wheat and rice for my worm farms, without really thinking about it. And cotton I turn into cloth to sell. Is that a dumb thing to do? Never really focussed on this. Just running around like my ADHD tells me to and romancing every single person hahahaha

starred cotton loses value as fabric, as there's no such thing as starred fabric. regular cotton is better as fabric though

yes it does! I keep a stack of kimchi in my storage. as kimchi though, it increases 1 bok choy by 50%, while turning 1 bok choy into seeds increases the value by 100%

Trying to get a community organized in Palia is really hard. Or, is for me. Relatively new player, 170 or so level etc. But I'd like to get a group to do stuff with - fish, events, egg hunts etc. But it's hard to tell like who is online vs. never online in community page. Any advice from other players who have more active communities? This isn't an ad, just to be clear - just looking for general advice.

IDK, I don't think it's an insult. Maybe it's just me, an overly complex human being who can't imagine being uniformly, unfailingly, eager and friendly. But it's more like one of those, you know it when you see it? Like when the photos of Princess Kate came out, and I mean before there was any kerfuffle, before I saw another thing, I thought, something about the photo doesn't look right, but I couldn't put my finger on it. And the next day, all the fuss. So saying someone sounds like AI isn't implying a burn, but maybe even, "you seem a little too perfect" and photoshopped?

Being a mod is extremely hard, and even harder to remain engaged over a long period of time. I've done it, it's a lot of being told you are doing everything wrong by a community for decisions that you have nothing to do with or have no engagement in. This community is.. mostly a lot better about that than a lot of others, but it still happens and I see it every day.

Or I should say, that's how I see things and what I've experienced.

That's where the problem is personally for me, we talk about restrictive legislations to reduce the effect of "AI" (Or if you prefer - maches and programming replacing human functionality) like the entire goal isn't to reduce or minimize payments out to human workers to increase profits for a company. Not quite politics, I think in line with the convo because there's a history and pattern. We'll have to see where it's going, but I'm not so hopeful legal legislation will protect human jobs lol

How are their paths chosen? Because I know that when Hassain was a kid his was not already chosen. And Assura’s son chose his path as a soldier. Did Reth choose furniture making to please his parents but then hated it that that he quit?

It seems from lore that they choose their own Path. Eg ||Kenyatta's entire friendship questline about helping her pick hers despite her mom wanting her to following the family with Politics||. Reth probably chose it to appease his parents and then quit. Choosing your path is 👍🏼 but leaving your Path is a huge majiri taboo

Yeah that's what I remember, choosing your own is one thing but going back on your choice afterwards is very much frowned upon

There are others who need to choose their path too. Like ||Auni who doesn't want to be a farmer, and wanted to join the order. Despite Subira saying that he's too old since Order members join at a really young age||

Auni also explains that you choose a path once a majiri becomes an adult, that's why hassian didn't have one as a kid

Paths and who picks which and families seems to be really messed up, in Palia... Though, I think Caleri seems to be happy with her library, and (in my personal opinion) she's a little overly rigid but I think the better choice than Elouisa. the issue isn't that it's mobile discord - the issue is it's out of date. it's probably pretty far out of date at this point for that section to not show up, but that can happen when they give up updating on older devices

logging in with a mobile browser (one that lets you see the desktop version of the site) and using that would probably work though

All it means is that anything the previous mod team decided on can't be reversed. If you wanna report something that happened a couple weeks ago, that hasn't been reported yet, you definitely can... and you can also report things that happened today, yes. ❤️

it really is just random, only thing to help catch it would be hooks/meals, maybe a fishing buff from another to increase speed you catch fishes
