To get ‘let’s eat’ you need 3 sets of 3 same item matching. SO like 3 onions, 3 steak, 3 mushroom. Just having 3 same color like orange or red only gives points at the end if you lose.

you create "sets" by keeping them in your deck. you want three of one color each, 3 times. the card you draw also counts as part of your hand.
example by using the image above

3 red, same ingredient
3 blue, different ingredients but same color
3 yellow, but 2 are the same ingredient

only the red and blue count in the end, you need to have either 1 of all the same ingredient and color or 3 different ingredients in the same color.

points are determined at the end when someone wins the game and by what you have in your hand.

so you'll have the 8 cards stored in your row and then the single draw card, you can complete your sets with this draw card.

So I'm loving hotpot. And my best guess for the nighttime lock is because that's the market and timeframe. But am I wrong on thinking that locking the hotpot game to night is a mistake?

If the intent is to be social, it seems a little silly you can only be social for 3-5 hands of a game before 3am rolls around. So 3-5 hands every hour essentially.

Even if the amount of lucky envelopes given as a reward were reduced, I think it would have been smarter to make the game available throughout the day.

Are we still having trouble understanding how to win Hotpot? It's SO simple. Your hand must contain two sets of 3, be they 3 of the same picture, or three DIFFERENT pictures of the same color. Then you must have 2 of either the same picture, or 2 different of the same color, and your DISCARD must be the 3rd in that set. For example, 3 blue fish in hand, 3 carrots in hand, a red single meat, a red rolls of meat, and a red whole bunch of meat as a discard would be a Winning Hand.

I take the Meat Roll on my turn, I win. Matching pictures pay out more than matching colors. Where I see most people get caught up is with the colors. This isn't Uno. The pictures have to be different, but of the same color. Hopefully this will help. If not, I have done everything I know, short of making a chart of every possible winning hand.

Yeah, but people have been confused why the discard card won't get them the win before, when it's no longer part of your hand and you can't pick it up again, so best not to repeat that you need some card in your discard pile to win.

Nope, can use any they are just really sneaky and regen health every time they go into a tree. It’s best to hunt those in groups with one chopping the tree and others using slow or dispel arrows
