I honestly don't think it's a server issue. I think something was changed client side affecting how often or efficiently the game engine is able to read the packet data and handle any related asset streaming and pop in from the storage drive.

you get its from the fire temple bundles(its buggy atm and it seems to be random- i got mine from the emberseeker but others go it form the other bundles)

also if you own a pet you should know what is bad for your pet(its okay if you dont at the start ❤️ its always good to learn)... so if you have children its best to educate them with what can and cannot be fed to your pets 🙂

Yeah, agreed. They have "beta" to fall back on right now but if this is any indicative they really need to get something changed. Whatever QA/testing system they have right now needs to be overhauled, I think, because yeah. Once 1.0 comes, they will not have a fallback. This isn't "expect bugs because beta", this is "how in the hell is EVERY patch bringing THESE many bugs".

once the game's in official release, if they continue with the same QA procedures they are now, what's gonna happen on the first release's patch when everything breaks again? I don't think they'll be ready for a full release until they have at least a few patches in a row that actually fully work (minus little things that you'd expect from any game) and can get their process correct

Look, I manage and supervise a crew in manufacturing. I'm telling you if the ship isn't righted post beta it will not make it far. If you don't have QA checks and processes in place to ensure good (not perfect, but good) parts are going out the door then your business will fail. I see them trying, I see their passion, and they're good people... but they won't last like this. This isn't a complaint. This is what I see happening in real time as each release breaks things further. They can do this, but they have to do better. They can and they should. I want this to succeed because this lore rich world dying before it even has a chance would be a tragedy.

I think it's a matter of process. The alpha test seems like it was hug boxed lmao, closed beta had almost no updates, so now that they're actually releasing updates and getting public opinion about them, they process needs to evolve and get a lot clearer.

The argument for a test server intensifies. They need a test environment that replicates 1 for 1 the systems used in order to let people interested in testing things go on before a major content update is released. If they had done this they could have rolled out hotfixes on the test server before putting it all together in one major patch and pushing it to the player base. I'd volunteer. If they gave a list of things to test out (quests, achievements, other objectives) and to do normal stuff to see if anything broke it would be mostly effective. Only thing left after that is performance issues related to the main servers and that could be ironed out through hotfixes as well. I am not dev, and I am probably over simplifying things.

yes, and no. Since theres no further wipes and they're mer months away from the switch release theres less room for mistakes now. I dont mind being a beta tester but I do worry at the pace they're going and quanity of bugs per release that there could in the future be a big 'oops' that happens. A PTR would help with that, but as I said before they just need to refine their processes and they'll be fine. They have good dev velocity, they just need QA to keep up

Yeah but there are also much smaller bugs when they make patches. They are working on that ish and there are going to be bigger bugs and issues when you first release to a bigger audience in an open beta vs an alpha or a closed beta. A game could seem fine in a closed beta with 100 players and then you open it and it gets the influx like this game seems to have, suddenly there are 800+ players trying to access stuff? Of course there are going to be new issues (numbers are just a throwout, not scientifically proven)

The important thing is that they get their QA system sorted out before release. As long as they do, sailing will be a lot smoother. But there is definitely a knot in the hose somewhere that needs straightening out so that these sorts of patches don't continue to come out, because people will be much less forgiving if 1.01 is like what we're currently going through. I want to believe they can get it sorted, I'm cheering them on, but it definitely needs to get sorted

That does ring true. Most they have going wrong is some quests not working right and some other minor bugs that should be easy enough to fix. The lag is inconvenient but not a deal breaker for me. Honestly the game is plenty playable in my opinion. I can't speak for everyone else and the level of impatience is only getting worse if general chat is anything to go by the second a progress impeding bug occurs.

It's in general all the time, general has been far worse then this chat lately. Especially during an outage or right after a patch. It's also on reddit frequently. And the concurrent user count on reddit is abysmally low, so it's odd that there's such a high percentage of negative posts there for such a small community active on the site

too relika's point it just goes by very fast in general, especially during down time of the game. they also dont non-cozy posts there the way they do, so they say there peace and dip out of discord instead of here where theres some discussion spawned from it

I've only been playing this game for a few weeks and already the increase of people I've seen around (maybe just due to when I play, tbh) and new content and bug fixes are amazing. The lag is just part of the chill vibes of the game to me, honestly, I take it as a "go drink some water and get a snack" break". I played this game for 13 hours straight and thought it was only 5 hours because it was so chill and like a liminal space that I just forgot what time was. Yes there are flaws and yes there's lagging and yes it can sometimes be a bit annoying. But I got sucked into helping the community as much as I got sucked into my own stuff. I'd find myself lurking in my homestead waiting for requests to fill. And I've never seen anyone anything but kind (impatient, but kind)

I found a white chaapa and had someone waiting with me but then someone ran through so fast and scared them and we lost it. It'd be nice to be able to alert people looking for things so they can avoid or run to it.

I like having to describe it in theory, but for every person who's patient enough to point people, there's two impatient people who might get the thing before others can get to it

For fishing if enough people in an area have the fishing with friends buff maybe it could respawn pools faster? Or a special pool where fish bite even quicker for a short time. Just anything really. I'd also like to see something to incentivize perfect catches as it doesn't appear to do much currently. Maybe after if you have a streak of perfect catches it nudges the odds into your favor by giving you a "lucky cast" buff or something where you could hook a star quality fish or a rarer fish?

Me and my friend followed five points to flow tree groups. She got 2 out of like 12 trees I got, because people were so impatient they wouldn't wait until everyone had tapped it before they started harvesting. And I'm pretty sure I also missed 2. We got all of those within 10 minutes. When I first started I'd see flow tree groups go like ten mins. The more people there are, the less patient people are, unfortunately

Yeah legit, which is why you run into the problem that sometimes 25 people in an instance isn't enough to get a group together of enough people who wanna do the thing you wanna do, but it's still enough for instances like that to happen. So some adjustments in how these things are spawned/harvested would probably be best (though I wouldn't be able to personally make any suggestions that are good enough)

See, I did that, but didn't get the Rock Garden. It's an inconsistent bug. By design, the way you're supposed to unlock the Rock Garden is by completing every bundle.

I think I'm done with this game. The RNG grind is just so frustrating. Not all bugs are like that, but I get the sentiment. The bundle getting messed up was probably due to a simple error. Edit: They probably have all this extra forbidden knowledge about the game so the wrong item might have looked like it was in the right place. Also an unobtainable in the bundle? Probably error due to fatigue or they spaced and typed the wrong item in that spot.

I do not think enmasse cooked food (beyond the three) is necessary. What is necessary is a bit of clean up/rework and fine tuning with how the cooking UI works. Right now, I feel it is adding a tediousness to cooking that shouldn't be there. I think some folks touched on that a bit earlier, regarding HQ materials and how that plays out each time. And, on top of that, getting stuck on a cooking station, which the Devs said they will be addressing.

All kitchen recipes do because you can add ingredients as an action. I don't think you've done cake parties like Velran either since you dont need blueberries or apples to take part.

Not ignoring the impact. Literally have been saying how parties can still be good to do. You dont need multicooking to be unlimited stacks. Make it 5 at a time and still do the minigame like 1 time. Maybe having multi-cooking available for SOME recipes could be an even middle ground. if you look the recipes all have varying degrees of "difficulty", maybe levels 1-2 can be auto-cooked and 3-4 (like celebration cake, apple pie, chapaa masala) need to be manually done.

I feel like since there's only 4 levels of "difficulty" to the recipes, and doing a quick browse through them, it appears to me the 3-4 are what I would consider "group" recipes. I think making it a general difficulty cap per se would allow for S6 to come up with more ideas for different types of parties. Cake parties are done for money, and I think it'd be a great idea for them to expand on the parties by having recipes for foods that give different types of in-game buffs. I think if they go through and pick "oh well THIS level 4 recipe can't be auto-cooked" it could create animosity. A general cap helps alleviate that animosity.

Edit to add: I think there could even be a limit as to WHEN multi-cooking is available per item, like "you have to make this item 10 individual times before it's available for multi-cooking". Lets people get the routine of cooking it themselves manually, and it can be toggled on and off. I don't think it should be button of just "cook" and boom you got 200 soups.

And for fireplace, It'd be nice to multi-cook where you just click how much you want, and it works like a hopper of sorts, timer for each item being cooked and you can pull out what has been made as the timer goes.

And to preface, I love doing the cake parties, but when i gotta sit at home making myself a bunch of bacon stuffed mushrooms so i can have my focus bar filled I kinda get annoyed at the game, and I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere. And getting people to come over to make anything other than celebration cake is not exactly something I've had success in lol

Oh that's a good idea. My main gripe with cooking is the minigames have no variation and a very low level of difficulty. You have click on the bars, click on the bars but now there are two bars, and hold left click to win. Not too much to hold the interest over long cooking sessions. Maybe harder recipes could legitimately be harder beyond having more moving parts? I'm sure new kinds of minigames could be put in to spice things up, you know?

Not necessarily. Discussions that have become overly repetitive and nonproductive are taking up space and preventing other discussion from being had. How bout this... alts to a booster pack glider that uses stam would be a mount that is, say, 50% faster than by foot, but you hit the run button and it uses stam boosting speed by over 100%? While in "trot" mode you regain stam, Same could be said for the boosted glider, while gliding you regain stam. Stam could be adjusted to some degree to replenish a bit slower. Now, how do we make stam longer and replensih faster? leveling it up in some way towards endgame, possibly using renown? Same way we do for focus. Or make it all focus used and then food becomes even more important? Its an idea, nothing more.

Has there been any known talks about a ingame global chat? Honestly, the biggest gripe for me, which is really starting to get to me is how lonely i feel........ the small servers chats are usually simply 100% dead.

Nope, but with the diversity of player schedules, Discord makes organizing community events a lot easier. Voice chat isn't actually required in most cases, but it can make life easier (even if you only listen and type as needed).

I really miss it. I miss the communities of all oldschool mmo's all the way up to the early wow days, after that communication moved to voip it seems and it ironically became more and more distanced in a way. Atleast for me.

The first weeks i had in Palia closed beta was cool as hell people grouped up, talked about the game and whatnot and just spent time together.

I think i was blindsided by that first experience and the whole push of "play together" "share rewards" and all the things you get in your face in the start of the game....

Now the cracks are gapes and it's even hard to do such things as hunt together since you actually kill steal from your teammates? 😄

They (LOTRO) actually had a recent setback to one of their planned events that is IMO a good reminder that sometimes bugs occur when something is brought live that just weren't happening on the dev servers

I was p sad when LotRO moved from Turbine to...whatever now (Standing Stone or something?). Turbine people were v good people, I remember being shocked at how communicative they were for a MMO

3️⃣ How to create a new thread

Is the star quality ancient fish just an RNG check? I've had it on the line twice and each time it moves faster than the fishing indicator can even follow it... it just moves far left to far right and gets off without any counter play? I know fishing boosting food exists, but with how rare the fish is already I would need to waste dozens of meals to even have a chance of getting it on the line within the food buff timers...

If Lost Ark wasn‘t such a daily grind… it could be easily one of the best games, because the combat is amazing. I played in Russia and waited so so so badly for it to be released here, but I just can‘t handle mandatory dailies.
