I had to use the unstuck option 3 times to get out from under the inn stairs earlier, got stuck in the inn floor for a moment before it loaded properly.

It worked somewhat fine before the update but now it's difficult to play on switch. And people constantly are T-Posing in and out or conversations with NPCs take so long to load that by the time I'm in conversation I'm kicked back out because they've moved too far because of the loading times

So I play on switch and this morning, I just encountered an issue. Every time I log on to play and get in game, after a few minutes, I get the message “attempting to reconnect to chat” and it fails every time and I get put out of game and in the home page. I then have to exit out of the game completely to be able to get back in game but then the cycle repeats. Anyone else have this issue that can help?

There's also a way to update your account on the switch if you skipped creating an account initially. This is what I did: press the plus button to open the menu, scroll to player support, scan the qr code, scroll to the bottom & press the blue "click here," & then follow all prompts to update your account & you should be good! After that, you simply have to download palia on steam and it will automatically link to said account.

The Switch connection can be unstable. Check your connection by going to System Settings/Internet/Test Connection. If that checks out, try restarting the Switch, not just putting it to sleep. Also try restarting your router and internet gateway.

However, I co-host cooking parties with a PC player and it’s very rare I ever crash while using my switch to communicate & cook. When u come to Kilima don't try right away walking into the buildings. Give it a time to load graphics. When u go to underground, when u pass first blue door at Zeki's store, do it slowly. Usually is missing square with stairs to go down. U can avoid it by gliding or wait till loads up

The worst buildings to be stuck like u did is Inn and Zeki's. Just take your time.

This weekend I played on both switch and pc. I didn't run into any problems on pc that I remember. On Switch, I had so many issues. Falling through buildings, dialog with characters taking several seconds to start, some not starting at all, and a bunch of lag. Shelf rotation works on switch as well. As long as no number key is not required, most technique on pc works on swithc

Their most recent update patch (I think end of August?) wrecked the switch version something fierce. I heavily played on switch before the update and after it's been such a struggle that I've moved to my PC to play. I liked the switch option for bad pain days but with all the glitches and bugs it's almost unplayable atm

Yes it’s extremely slow and the hunting is so bugged… I try to catch bugs and it just glitches and the bug teleports and even with animals, the animal teleports and disappears? Even a mujin I could easily catch but couldn’t because when it went to jump in the tree it was stuck in the tree trunk lol

Hunting on Switch tests my patience so much, even using slowdown arrows doesn't always help and the damn teleportations... If only I could teleport across the map as quick as a stray muujin!!

Even chapaa hunting is like that. I've lost 3 of the azure ones to teleporting and countless regular, striped, and even muujin. I'm about ready to wait until it goes on ps4 or something. I can't even get a regular muujin plush and I've been trying since they started. The lag is better to load my bow but not gone yet. Should be another update in a week, good lord what will that do? Waiting for Maji Market.

With all this lagging and skipping I still managed to collect all plushies. For muujin and striped I use mainly slowdown arrows. Works dandy. For magic one I party up

@minor belfry with hunting in bahari slow down arrows are a must. I've had very good luck with quick firing one arrow after another usually they'll run straight away from you. For the magic chaapa and mujiin, it's best to team up first person using discord arrows second person quickly firing slow down

Yay!!! No crashing is good! Missing floors are manageable once you get used to it😂 The first arrow shot void can be a bit frustrating. Haven't encountered the disappearing creatures yet. Probably because I haven’t been playing😂 and yes the Maji market looks fun!

I always warn people before hand that if I do not respond means my chat might be outta window. If I stand and prep station and nothing happens, means I'm frozen. This way everybody is aware of it.

And no need to be crying. Most people do not take it as rude right away, specially those who play longer they understand things can go wrong. Like me crushing while being leader of hunting party with active hunting horn in persuit of disco deer. 😅

Go to request, switch to gift symbol. Make sure the arrows on the lines point up on a right side

Hit the “+” button on your Joycon. Then select “Requests” and hit “A.” The request window will pop up. Hit the “R” or “ZR” (I can’t remember which) to select the request from others tab. Scroll down and open the open requests to find pending requests.

have you tried playing with disconnected controllers? when they're not attached to the console.
if that doesn't work either then try disinstalling the game

Granted, I too have tried it on pc, and my gosh. The difference is night and day. Oh! If you’re playing on steam, go to the settings in game and go to graphics, and set them to epic or best, whichever your computer can handle. I did and my gosh I can see First time I tried it on pc I didn’t know about that and was like ??? Doesn’t look much different lol

When I played it on pc recently? Felt like a new GAME it’s wild. Tho, I’ve still been playing on switch cause it’s comfy and I like playing on the tv ahaha. Fingers crossed and hoping the next update helps us switch players aaaaa

My arrows sometimes fly around what I’m trying to hit. Or seem to go down and not go far. But half the time I miss the animal teleports so far away, or vanishes. This is why I mostly hunt in Kilima. One hit takes them down there.

If you go into the tab that opens friends/requests and party. If you’re not in a party already you can click the option to add the icon to your name

Chapaa chase happens just after midnight. Chapaa will be released. Run around the pen area and click on the chapaa as they run around. Take them back to the pen one at a time. You get tickets for getting them by yourself but there’s also a group bonus. So the more people play and collect the more you get as a group 🙂 Claw machine needs a coin, and I’m not sure on the balloon yet. The instruction sign is glitched

Don’t forget to look for the maji chests around the market, and talk to all the stall owners and they all give you quests. Doing those gets you a good chunk of tickets! I’ve found four chests so far

The chapaa chase is so bad for switch players. There are like 10 chapaas and you can't see the OPs so you run for the chapaas and they just get picked up. I got 2 per game so far I think I'm done. Everything costs so much and there's hardly any way to make tickets. I'm underwhelmed already sadly.

The market glitches are killing me. It made me turn into a whole different character, clothes, hair, and skin color.
Then it wouldn't show myself, just the tools would be showing and it looked like they we're glitching on the ground.

Signs are glitched. But the balloon pop is at 8pm in game. Find a good spot near the water edge. You get unlimited arrows and doesn’t degrade your weapon. You get extra goals if you do in a party as well.

Chapaa chase is just after midnight.

Claw machine you need a coin. They’re given at random when you make purchases with tickets. It’s hit and miss. You get one guaranteed if you buy anything for 6,000+ tickets

I did where my entire character got reset to a default look. Hair, eye & skin color, face shape, clothes and it did not change back when I left. I’m trying to fix it now and it’s taking forever. 😞

That trick doesn't always help as everyone else is doing the same thing. I personally did better running around and hoping for the best (10-12 chapaas) than standing around and waiting (5-8 chapaas).
Having issues with the chase too, chapaas invisible or teleporting, all other people invisible. It's really frustrating, so I think I'm just going to do the balloon pop game and give up on the chapaa chase

I played Palia for the first time in ... I don't know - but it didn't crash! I was able to talk to NPCs, give them gifts and I even made it to the market!! I caught four chappas in one go! I'm totally hyped 🙃

nope, too expensive for me and don't like any of the designs since they don't fit into the lore of the game (all of the other characters that we met are wearing tunics and such, not pretty soldier sailor palia outfits. also don't think that wedding dresses, ballroom gowns or maid outfits are really gardening, mining or fishing attire). did buy some coins to get a flutter fox, then never bought one because i couldn't decide which one i want more

you get a pet (palcat) for just buying any amount of coins. but if you buy 3000 coins you get all four of the palcat colors (you don't need to buy all at once)

I have, only two, I have the same thought as @rancid patio about things not fitting in, that does bug me (mermaids? Sailor Moon? Really?) but I did get one of the 'construction' outfits, I told myself since I was going for Hodari's pin it was reasonable to look the part lol!

The second one, I just really wanted something dressy for events, so when they came out with the moon themed one this patch, I splurged. It's my favorite color, you have the Dragon moon toe-in and it matches the nameplate... Ok I might be rationalizing here but hey, it made me happy 😁

I've noticed that the resolution in the actual shop is terrible and you can't see the details at all... Idk. You'd think if S6 expects people to spend money, they'd make it easier to see. But as a workaround... If you want to see the detail.. you can look up the outfit in your wardrobe, and it'll show. Your mileage may vary of course but so far it's working for me.

and if an outfit screams at you, that's fine, if you love the sailor moon outfit, great. to me, it's just very off putting in a world where everyone else (npc wise) is wearing tunics. it's like playing skyrim and the player character can wear glam rock outfits. it just takes you out of the immersion of the world

If your character changes appearance unexpectedly, switch servers or log out and back in. Usually that changes you back to normal. If that doesn't work, you have to go to the large mirror in Jel's Tailor Shop to change your appearance.

Someone told me to power off completely and then back on, it worked for me. I was just putting it to sleep every night. It didn't even show me in a party so I couldn't leave it to join at the next market. Hope it works for you. @devout patio I think they were just so excited to add stuff and fun activities (which I'm all for in the grand scheme of things) but also they didn't stop to consider that doing that without first fixing the tons of issues the game has would break it. Cause it does look broken; I was playing with my friend yesterday and ofc party problems, then the board wasn't working so we couldn't go to each other's plots, buildings took forever to load in fully, my game kept freezing for like 5-10 seconds every once in a while...

There has to be a limit to what can be tolerated even in a beta game, bugs and glitches really need to be fixed before adding on a ton of content. It's hard to enjoy the game when everything keeps going wrong, and that sucks cause I really did enjoy playing it when it wasn't so buggy and laggy and broken

The freezing problem has been with us for a while. A lot of time the first villager you speak to takes up to a minute to respond. If it takes longer, you’ll have to close the game. Missing furnishings can also take time to load in, so don’t go into any buildings right away.

Unfortunately, we playing with 7-year-old mobile hardware. Switching servers may help, if you find a less busy one. Try restarting your internet connectivity devices (router, modem), as well. If you haven’t done it recently, powering down the Switch, not just putting it to sleep, helps.

None. 😛 Any Switch, even the OLED, is going to have problems with the game. It's playable, but the graphics are reduced from the PC version and it struggles loading textures. If you're playing primarily on the go, the OLED version is supposed to be better. I have an older Switch, but play docked most of the time.

Switch isn't optimised for this game unfortunately. I still enjoy it but the graphics and speed aren't anywhere need the same as the PC. There are a lot of bugs at the moment and crashes, so just letting you know if you're joining for the first time there are a lot of patches happening
But if you do get one, I'd recommend getting the switch (not switch lite) so you can connect to a TV. Much nicer on your hands if you play for a while, and jsut visually easier and more fun to play

Yeah, I started end of april iirc and it was running pretty well, barely ever crashed. And then maybe 3 or 4 updates back it all went downhill: started crashing constantly, loading times increased, logging in started taking forever and/or be probematic, and now everything takes forever to load in so I got stuck under buildings a couple times, chat freaks out on me during hotpot which prevents me from doing anything but quit the mini game...I barely play anymore because of all that, I used to play almost daily, often for hours

Yes and no. It was running rather smoothly back in april, the problem seems to be more that the devs don't cater to switch enough for it to keep playing smoothly, cause it just keeps getting worse with every update instead of improving, which makes no sense considering hiw good it was before

I know they're hard to work with, I'veheard that before, but idk about the support. I wouldn't be surprised though. But I've played other online social games that don't struggle to run well like Palia does rn, and the nintendo games I play that are online multiplayer (splatoon 3, acnh, It takes 2, etc) also run smoothly most of the time so I really don't feel like nintendo is at fault here

See, I used to think that about splatoon but ever since I moved back in march I've barely ever had comm errors. So even though I always doubted it before, it really is wifi problems that lead you to lots of comm errors. Cause at my previous place I was sharing the wifi with my neighbour and the router was in her appartment, and I was getting comm errors regularly. Now in my new place I have the router in my appartment and got maybe 2 comm errors so far? And it's been 7 months. So no, it's not really a nintendo problem. Cross platforms can still be sucky tho since the switch isn't nearly as powerful as all other platforms and thus can't handle as much. But Palia was brought to switch and the devs definetely knew about the limitations since they catered to it by reducing clutter greenery like grass blades and flowers. It just feels like they stopped trying to accommodate

I have a had a completely different experience, literally every person I know who has good or bad wifi have disconnected once or twice during a multiplay session and it’s very finicky where sometimes you don’t get disconnects and sometimes you get lots. Recently though the salmon run sessions were ok for me, but still lots of people drop off the game. I’ve also disconnected once every session. I didn’t disconnect this much when I was playing Counter strike when I was 13 years old, which is now a very very long time ago. This shouldn’t even be a problem anymore in this day and age.

Sometimes the updates don’t happen right away on my switch lite. Palia didn’t update for me until the day after the patch, but I could have forced Palia to update sooner by going to “options” then “software update”. Any chance your switch hasn’t updated fully yet? My game ran horribly for over a month and it seems to run a little better now. Still a bit of lag but crashing less now. Hope things improve for you.

I started as a Switch player last December and it really was much better then. Now, the game crashes so often, npc dialogues take ages to load, assets not appearing for a while in kilima, and the loading times between servers/areas has become absolutely abominable—especially with the Market games being such short rounds. The Market games themselves are glitchy, with balloon pop not registering all arrows and hits and the chapaa chase not even functioning. To be fair I’ve seen those issues on pc too with Marker thus go around. I do have the luxury of choice between a switch lite or a 10-year old pc windowed on lowest graphics settings. But I expected improvements after close to a year now on Switch!
