Hi. I have a slight problem as I can no longer cook . When I go up to the cooker, counters or the oven, the cooking option is in light grey and I cannot select it. The last meal worked perfectly. No, I haven't had any visitors who have tried to cook. The stations don't work outside the house either (even if I craft a new one). I finished by contacting the devs and they rhave just replied. It is a known issue that several people have and they will fix it as soon as possible.

Oh gosh. I wasn't in the middle of cooking so I don't know if it is the same problem but the devs said that their is a known issue with cooking. One time when I was cooking, it got stuck and I had part of the prepared ingredients in the item bars. I had to delete them in order to cook again (strange glitch). That happened once ages ago and I have never had that issue again (maybe it was fixed)

The devs are really kind. Don't hesitate to send them that video on their website when you send them a ticket describing the issue. Hope it resolves soon!!

Mine was a normal amount of time. If the game is stored on your SD card instead of on the switch itself that could be slowing things. My original game install defaulted to the SD and I moved it.

I'm having the same problem. 4 hours downloading, then stalled at 40%. Switch says downloading at 90mbps but it didn't move past 40 for over an hour.

I never had freeze issues until today. Infact I'm seeing worse graphics, slower loading, more glitches and the worst issue.... I feel like my shooting is delayed. Like everything is delayed for that matter, but very laggy all around. And I used to be the one playing with all PC players and them having issues while I was having none. Floors keep going missing for me, chat didn't work at all for me or my girlfriend, and if I'm in grid mode on my plot, I can't place anything from my inventory - it just selects the nearest placed object. Whoo boy. But my trees look rad without the dirt.

I should add that I'm not complaining at all. I love this game.

Yeah I just noticed in grabbing the nearest things when placing items. I've had this issue before but it normally fixed itself. It doesn't seem to be getting any better now. And I have to continuously keep turning on all my lights which is driving me insane.

But I will say I'm somewhat complaining because I've had a really smooth ride so far. I know there's going to be complications. I love the game regardless. I just had a much smoother experience before this update.

But I also second the fact that the trees look amazingly awesome without the dirt piles!

Wishing there was a "stop growth" fertilizer or something to put on them so I don't see the water symbols anymore. I like having some of my trees small.

I noticed with switch everything is glitchy if you don't close out of the game if you're playing on and off. Like friend requests, parties, invites, anything. So if my screen times out when I'm not playing, I just close out off the game completely and restart.

Quest items are in your inventory, use ZR to switch to Quest Items. If they can be interacted with there should be a prompt in the bottom right corner to press X/A etc

why do you need to know? afaik there isn't a way, although if you're trying to make sure you're in a different server to one you were just in, you can check the list of people on the server in the social menu before and after

not sure, since i don't have friends that play at the same time as me, but you should be able to invite friends to the server and if there is space on the server they will join you. the game tries to make sure that people on your friend list end up on the same server as you. but it might also be a bit buggy, like i said, i've never tried it

could also invite them to your party, the game sends party members to the same server. (not sure if you will need to server sync first if they're in a different server region than you, though)

sadly there isn't a direct way yet. best option is to open the image in game and screenshot. images are also sometimes way darker than normal, so you might have to adjust lighting (in addition to cropping). it's really not very good

i'm guessing it's too late now, but for future reference, you should make a party or become friends with them if you want to return to their server later. the game should put party members on the same server, and tries to put friends on the same server as well. and if it doesn't, you can server sync with friends through the social menu.

Hi. This is a fairly new problem for me - has happened the last week or so. I play on the switch and luckily have had few issues since I started playing in December. But this last week or so I have had problems with the game crashing and throwing up an error message anytime I spend more than 10 minutes on my plot and either open a chest/crafter or shipping bin. Yeah that’s been happening to me sometimes when I finish cooking as well. It also happens sometimes when exiting conversations with an NPC who’s on my plot, or picking a new furniture recipe to learn.
I’m not sure why it happens, but whenever it does I exit the game, then open it again. I’ve lost no progress and continue on with whatever I was doing.
It is terribly annoying but other than that it causes no real harm.

Me and my bf have a trick, i usually shot the first arrow and he finishes it since he’s on pc. For magic mujin for example, I chop the trees and chase and he shots, pc/switch is a great hunting team. And if you chop the tree where the mujins are you also get to loot even tho you aren’t the one who killed them.

Hiya, sorry for long post, I was wondering if anyone on Switch has had this issue and can help me out: pressing down on the right-hand control stick both opens Placement Mode in the housing plot and enables Auto-run whilst out and about.

Starting today, toggling this has started to cause my character to auto-run whilst on the housing plot, and I can't get into Placement Mode unless I select that option in the + menu. This then leads to being unable to exit placement mode (or even open the menu at all or to interact with crafting/cooking stations) unless I leave my plot and return, which is mightily annoying 😅

There's not an option to have seperate controls for auto-run and placement mode, so I can't solve it that way either.

Yeah, PC is having this issue as well. The only thing I have found to work (on PC) may work for switch too is, if I keep changing servers eventually one will correct the chat box. I submitted a ticket after this last update about it and Support said S6 is aware of the situation so hopefully it's resolved soon 🤞

I had this problem twice yesterday and a few times previous. The animations are still there, like my saw bench is working, my leather is being made, bars being cooked, the clock is still ticking but all buttons don't respond. Can't jump, can't move, can't open menus, can't chop food, can't stir, nothing works except closing and reopening game.
It is annoying especially when you come back and the food you've almost completed fails by default 😦

Yeah...the game on switch acts up weird each time you log in. Never give a thought what can cause it but one day something suddenly doesn't work and next it does. Relogging helps at times but not necessarly. I couldn't cook for a week. Instead at home I was cooking at friends. For anyone having issues, make sure you're closing the game completely between playing - don't just put your Switch to sleep.

Mine was crashing after launching up on PC but the directX tip worked for me via steam. For my switch I have no real issues. Just be sent back to the salon quicker than usual when I don't interact for a period of time

if you selected the ammo you wanted (worms, smoke bomb, arrow) from the hotbar while you had the tool equipped it would use whatever you selected. pressing x was always easier tho

When I go into housing menu select the courtyard and press Y it complains “disconnect sockets first”. I’m sure it’s referring to the hallway that is part of the courtyard, but I can’t remove that! 😩

when you zone to a new area check chat (if that matters to you) if it's not working, type /unstuck and that might help. sometimes its just a quiet server. or press home on the switch, press x to close the game, and then relaunch. that will put you in a new server but same map

in switch they only have the Persistent Center Reticle setting to reduce motion sickness, but personally i also turned down the camera movement speed (from default 0.5 to 0.3 iirc) and that helped a lot

Not sure if this is a switch only issue but I am having issues with frying. Every time I start and the circle begins, when I get to the circle and press ZR, it resets back to the beginning and keeps doing that over and over. If I press multiple times it stops in the wrong place. This is making it really hard to level up cooking for me because I can't do any flipping in the pan . Anyone else experiencing this issue

i'm not 100% sure if this is the problem, but assuming the flipping minigame works like it does on PC, you're supposed to hold the button down to start the minigame, keep it held down and then release it when it reaches the circle

ah! I just tried that and it worked! Looks like if you press ZL & ZR it allows it to go around the circle and you pressed again to stop. That was how I did it before but that no longer works. holding down just ZR until the right time works. Thank you!

Hello, i would like to ask on how you can switch accounts in Palia over switch? My sister created an account on Palia over the switch and i created one over the website and as i wanted to start playing for the first time when i opened the game on the switch it directly logged in my sister's account. is their a way to change accounts on switch?

For me crashes only when too many things happen at once or cg cutscenes.

Most commonly just freezes like while cooking, decorating or fishing, but relog usually fixes it.

I had few instances of freezes mostly when a villagers visit me for quest I’m like stuck there😂 and have to re log-in but I noticed that when I talk behind them I don’t get stuck.

Cooking it skips sometimes and I missed a cut🙄

And small advice to all switch players. When u cook with friends and u freeze whike cutting or stirring, don't panic or relog. Let them finish cooking the dish, upon completion it will unfreeze u.

Yo guys, if u keep crashing out of nowhere too often submit the ticket. Thing usually do not just fix itself. Lol. No offence meant. Also keep in mind that Switch doesn't have the same capabilities as CPU so if it gets overwhelmed will crash.

I had the aforementioned issues others have mentioned going on with my Switch last night. Then I had a few hours that went fine. That is until the game errored out after my game froze with the Switch screen looking like a snowy TV screen from back in the day.

Yeah so if it isn't then go to home screen, hover on the app, press + for options (should say at the bottom of ur screen that + means options) then go down one to 'Software update' and then press a, then a again, and then it will check for available updates. Hope this works on ur switch too! That's how I do it on mine

Does anyone know how to check the housing plots plant and tree limits on switch? I see lots of folks sharing stats on their plot limits but those are mostly pc players I think. And my main housing menu only shows building limits (ie 8 out of 30, 8/30).

unfortunately, we don't have a counter yet for the item limit. most people show that they've hit the limit as far as the plants and trees go when the alert pops up. the only way that i have heard people do it was to place down single fence posts in an area of their plot and see how many place down before you get the alert, but then i also hear that there might be bugs with doing that as well

Struggling with hunting on Switch. I just started playing the game Monday night. I have to have the motion sickness icon on all the time. Does that affect how you hunt in game?

hunting is pretty awful IMO, particularly if compared to, say, Zelda. My technique is to approximate with the focus then align by moving my avatar. I only hunt deer unless I really have to hunt something else

Mines crashed even more than that, and I’m haven’t been able to record it or screen shot. Sometimes the screen gets fuzzy other times the error messages pops up. Seems switch got real finicky with the last update, loot can’t be picked up half the time. It’s getting frustrating to play.

I guess I'm lucky. it seems a bit laggy and large groups around groves are ridiculous, particularly when someone pops a honey lure. Just ghosts and flashes of outfit effects and teleporting bugs. I definitely feel close to putting the game down for a few months after I finish the new lvl5 friendship quests

Closed game then reopened and mining ore in BB, game crashed again a few more times, just cut out to error screen, or pixelated then out. So frustrating!

It is achievable. Just a LONG process to get the orange out. Depending what color you are trying to achieve 🥰 bleaching it the only proven way I've had success. And no hot showers lol, it strips the color out quickly

Stiil, I never get frustrated or angry when things go wrong. At one time would crash after purchase at Zeki. Instead being upset I avoided it. Then out of nowhere I stopped crashing.

Once couldn't cook at my plot. Would crssh. Ended up cooking at my friend plot.

U can try unstuck if allows u to access menu. If not, u have to restart. But....if u cook with someone, let them finish the dish it will unstuck u.
